  1. I noticed that any time Nick went to introduce Jade in the restaurant, she disappeared. I'm beginning to get "I see dead people" vibes about her.
  2. I've always hated the scripted banter between presenters, so I won't miss that. Maybe this means the Tonys can show more performances from the nominated shows, which is really why I watch. The one thing Broadway performers know is how to perform live in front of an audience and deal with anything unexpected that may happen. However, I want to make clear that writers are essential and deserve to be fairly compensated, especially in light of the increasing streaming of shows. I will also miss the opening number the Tonys usually have, although I have never seen anything better (or bigger!) than the Neil Patrick Harris opener from 2013.
  3. 2/5, no *. I'll bring those temporary tattoo stickers that don't hurt at all when you put them on!
  4. If the writers' strike goes on through the summer, NBC may show Transplant in the fall in place of its scripted shows since they already have a season worth of shows done.
  5. I agree. No Primetime games in the FJ contest.
  6. Hungary has given up the rights to host the 2024 European Championships, citing its close proximity to the fighting in Ukraine and the economic hardships it is undergoing as a result of the war. (Also, IMHO, no need to get the Russians upset since they still won't be able to compete.)
  7. 3/5, 1*. In honor of Jonathan Swift, I’ll bring Sugar Babies.
  8. Ilia Malinin got himself in trouble with a response to a question asking if he had to prove that he was straight. He has apologized for his response. Why is a skater's sexual orientation even being talked about these days? Gay, straight, bi, who cares?
  9. Actually, I think Shandy's behind it. I also think Jack is going to pull out her financing of PRKJ, Keely gets funding elsewhere (Rebecca maybe?) and Barbara asks Keely if she can stay as her CFO. Added: Sorry, @MMLEsq, didn't see your post until I did mine. Obviously great minds think alike.
  10. The ending had to be a tribute to the Godspell movie, which ended with the tribe dancing down an empty city street, going around a corner and then being absorbed by the people in the suddenly crowded sidewalks.
  11. When the doorbell rang at the end, I said “Please don’t let it be Jamie, please don’t let it be Jamie” and then it was Jamie. I didn’t expect that he was the one that Keely sent the video to, though. There is nothing that can’t be made better by having a group of people singing the last three minutes of Hey, Jude together.
  12. Asking for a ruling now. For Monday's FJ I said Gulliver without a first name because I had no idea what his first name was. Does that count as correct? Mayim said Gulliver alone first and then gave the full name.
  13. 3/5 with 3*. Funny that for me the asterisks were all instagets while I couldn’t even come up with a guess for the other two. Makes me feel smart and dumb at the same time. So I’ll bring candy: Smarties and Dum Dum suckers.
  14. I think this is the place I've been wracking my brain trying to remember the name of. It's in Amish country, right? I live in Cincinnati and went there for dinner one Saturday with friends of mine. We had to make reservations about a month in advance. I thought of the place with this episode but can't remember the name. The restaurant was very popular. Sorry to hear the pandemic closed it to non-B&B guests. The B&B was also popular during the summer. Lots of Amish shops in the area.
  15. I've had the same problem. Glad to know it isn't just me.
  16. Thank you for posting this link. It is fantastic and lots of fun to watch. The interview with the choreographer was so informative. I have a new rabbit hole to spend time in!
  17. Maybe Tessie is sleeping with the mob boss. After all, it’s a time-honored tradition for a mobster to put his girlfriend into a show he’s backing. And Tessie’s husband did die from a sudden “heart attack.” I also don’t think it’s strange if Susie didn’t know Hedy was Gordon’s wife. Does anyone know who is Jimmy Fallon’s wife? And sometimes couples who have different sexual orientations love each other and want to stay married (Leonard Bernstein and his wife come to mind) even if they seek sexual gratification elsewhere.
  18. So far. And I will guess she will be in the last two.
  19. 3/5 with 2*. Not only that, but I did know the other two. On Monday I said Lucifer in that epic by Milton but could not come up with title and for Friday I said Praetorian Guard (thank you, The Mandalorian) but changed to “Centurion” at the last minute (Boo! Hiss!) Nonetheless, I feel good about myself, so champagne and truffles for everyone! My treat!
  20. Hi, @dankesean, good to know I have a scorebuddy. But which one of us is the Evil Twin?
  21. Definitely "Gethsemane" From JC Superstar. But I didn't recognize the duet with Topher and Jenny in his tent. What musical was that referencing? Funny, "A Little Priest" in Sweeney Todd always makes me laugh, when you substituted the orphans, it did make me cringe a little. But there is no way any orphan is going to end up in Dooley's meat case. Way too dark for this show to go to. Sudden thought: Melissa and Josh want children. What if they take one (or more) of the orphans home with them?
  22. As a teenager in the Sixties, I loved Godspell. I’ve seen it performed at least 10 times and watched the movie more times than I can count. And the parable done here was so spot on right down to the corny side comments. It gave me all the feels! I also loved the music from Hair. I never saw the stage play because of the, you know, nudity at the end of act one. But I knew all the songs. I loved how the gibberish lyric here a la Good Morning Starshine was the names of the characters from Grease: Rizzo, Cha-Cha, Doody, Zuko, and Kenicke. (Thank you, Playbill.). Jane Krakowski is a national treasure.
