2/5 with 1* Back from Wichita and the skating and finished going through the archives. Missed you all and the food selections.

2/5 with 1 *. I’m off to Wichita for the US Figure Skating Championships so I will be late in reporting my scores next week. As always, I will wave at you from the stands if you are watching the competition.

3/5 with 1*. i knew Thursday’s FJ was moons of a planet but I thought the planet was Saturn, not Jupiter. Those Roman gods!
-
3/5 with no *. Saturday Night Fever came easily after a month of commercials of John Travolta recreating his walk as Santa.

Jimmy et al are psychologists, not psychiatrists. No medical degrees. Tia’s death happened two years ago. Immediately afterwards Louis was consumed with guilt and self loathing. As stated above, he didn’t think he deserved happiness so he broke up with his fiancée. He then served his prison sentence of 10 months and started to rebuild his life. He started to believe he could be happy again with friends and then his past actions came up again and destroyed that. Dashed hope can become despair so quickly. I’m glad for both Louis and Jimmy that Jimmy could reach out to him in time. Next season should be really interesting.

2/5 with 1*. I was happy to get the law question. RICO is one of my favorite named laws even though I didn’t know it was deliberately named that. So cannolis for everyone!

Jimmy didn’t break down because of Alice. Jimmy broke down because he never really dealt with the death of his wife. He covered it up with women and alcohol at first and then by “jimmying” his patients. But, as Paul said, that wouldn’t be enough until Jimmy finally admitted he wasn’t okay. The final scene brought me to tears. I never thought I would say that about Jason Segel.

3/5 with 1 *. I would have been excommunicated from my family if I missed Friday’s FJ as “Thanks for all the fish” is our standard farewell to each other.
-
That’s the second in a month. I think the writers are pandering to us. Or making up for Women Writers.
-
1/5, no *. My cold is gone and so is my high scoring. I knew Friday’s FJ was the Addams Family but for some reason I thought the husband’s name was Mortimer instead of Gomez. Gotta stop making Granny’s cold medicine recipe.

Ilia doing all six quads plus his raspberry and a backflip was amazing! No wonder he laid on the ice after it was over. The US won GP gold in Senior Women, Men, and Dance and Junior Men. Worlds in Boston should be amazing. I really liked the French Free Dance. They never slowed down. It reminded me of the Duchesnays (which shows how old I am!)

4/5 with 1*. Grandma’s cough remedy is still working although, as a retired lawyer, I’m ashamed to admit that my one miss was the Supreme Court FJ. Perhaps I added too much bourbon that day.

I can’t make up my mind about whether casting Brett Goldstein as Louis is good or not. It’s easy to forgive Roy Fucking Kent where Louis really hasn’t earned it yet. On the other hand, the casting of Brett does make it easier to see Louis not as a villain but someone who made a mistake. Regardless, my heart broke at Louis’ face when he promised to stay away from Alice and Brian.

Dance teams tend to cluster with the same coaches. It’s only a matter of time before the younger teams feel neglected and go elsewhere. I predict Michigan Ice Dance Academy will be the hot training center after the next Olympics.

Yay, Amber, Gold at Cup of China! This means one US entry in all four disciplines at GP Finals.
-
5/5 with 1 *. There must be something in the cold medicine I’ve been taking to give me a perfect score. Of course, I’ve been taking my sainted grandmother’s remedy, which is honey, lemon, and lots of bourbon. Good stuff!

The next new episode isn’t until March 6, 2025, so the show’s season and the real season will match up.

I know the situations in this show are not realistic, but I like these characters so much, it hurts my heart when something goes wrong for them. Jimmy was having such a great day and then he gets walloped by those closest to him.

We’ve obviously been failing to keep the social distance from each other in this thread. I’ve come down with the cold now too. The Moderators may put us in quarantine!

3/5 with 1*.

Paul and Jimmy in the canoe has brightened up my whole week. I would never have guessed that Harrison Ford could be so wickedly funny. Louis seemed very skilled at bringing out Alice’s emotions. I wonder if it will turn out that he was a therapist before the accident.

3/5. I’m going through pumpkin spice withdrawal as I transition to peppermint.

I think Yasuda is a goner. It’s been several years since one of the regulars has died. I thought Schmidt was going to go down in the helicopter a few weeks ago but I guess he gets the departure to greener pastures exit. The show loves to kill someone off after they have finally gotten to a good place so Yasuda will be joining George, Lexie, Derek, and several others on Meredith’s beach. I hope her sister survives.

So if Grace is now president, is Billie out? And will Kate be recalled as Ambassador? Or will Kate keep her position to buy her silence? Kate better up her game because right now both Grace and Margaret have been out maneuvering her. The sight of all the Secret Service agents ( I assume) running out to protect the new President was a great visual.
