  1. Surely one of the other streaming platforms could pick it up. Lorne Michaels is a producer. Maybe he could convince Peacock to put it on.
  2. Poor Bradie! Perhaps it is time for her to go on to the next chapter in her life. I guess Ava figures her best chance of making the Worlds team is to medal at 4CC. I think the Worlds team is not going to be named until after 4CC. Nationals this year is a week later than usual so there is only a one-week interval between US Nationals and 4CC, which is in Shanghai. The US 4CC team has already been named, with lots of alternates. I wonder why the USFSA scheduled Nationals so late?
  3. Gracie Gold is releasing a memoir entitled "Outofshapeworthlessloser: A Memoir of Figure Skating, F*cking Up, and Figuring It Out." The title alone makes it sound like it's worth reading. She is not competing, but will be in Columbus next week for Nationals, where she will be promoting the book and being one of the skaters in Boitano's Lounge, where for a measly $300 a night, you can meet and greet with Boitano and other former skaters.
  4. I don't know why backflips are still illegal. They aren't more dangerous than a quad Axel. And with the addition of choreographed elements like cartwheels and somersaults, the one-foot landing rule seems to make no sense either. Call it a leap, not a jump, and let those who want to do it add it to the program.
  5. 2/5. i got pop tarts, but considering the temperatures outside, I’ll bring popsicles.
  6. Is it wrong for me to wish that Long had not gotten FJ correct? Not that I want him to lose, but that would mean that all three contestants would have started Day Two at zero. It would have been mind blowing!
  7. I said Providence and Hartford figuring that RI and Connecticut are both so small that everything in one was close to the other.
  8. I wonder if Rose McIver's pregnancy will be written into the show, Introducing babies to the main characters usually doesn't work, but it might be fun if the baby could see the ghosts and interact with them.
  9. 4/5 no *. I too said Peter Rabbit and as soon as Ken said it was wrong, Secret Garden popped into my head. Too late, brain! No perfect week for you.
  10. Maybe they heard Sharon say "Jerry Maguire" and was ruled incorrect and they didn't realize it was because time had run out. So they thought Jerry Maguire was the wrong response.
  11. 4/5. In honor of Tom Smothers, I’ll bring a vat of chocolate, ‘cause no one will save you if you yell chocolate!
  12. 2/5, no *. Too much egg nog this week. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
  13. 3/5. I just had some mint chocolate chip popcorn. It was so good I'm going to get a big bag to share.
  14. There were definitely slips at the trapeze. Corey remarked about them. I think there was a second trapeze set up in another room for demonstrations. John and Greg came into the same room that Joel and Garrett were finishing up to do their attempt.
  15. Unfortunately, the Gnome has gone to live permanently in Sequesterville (TWoP reference), as he was the symbol for Travelocity, which was bought out by Expedia. Which brings up the question, do they still sequester the eliminated teams while the Race is being run? The teams out early used to get to stay at a fancy resort until the end of the Race so they wouldn't return home early and tip off who was eliminated.
  16. There was only one trapeze and the order was determined by taking a slip at the clue box. Considering Rob's struggles. it was good that he and Corey got there first so they had plenty of time to do multiple attempts without waiting in line behind the others. John and Gregory had to wait for Joel and Garrett to finish their turn before going on the trapeze. I think it would have been very frustrating if all three teams had to keep alternating to get the task done.
  17. 3/5, which appears to be the popular table this week.
  18. Wading in the shallow end, but Corey in the Riverdance outfit? Oh, my!!!
  19. 2/5 no *: I’ll see you @ams1001 and raise you chocolate covered Bourbon cherries. Why not indeed!
  20. 2/5, no *. In honor of Ohio born Presidents, but tinged with sadness over the results of The Game, I'll bring buckeyes.
  21. 3/5 with the *: I said Big Ben instead of the Liberty Bell. I think I have been hanging around the Royals forum too much. I’ll bring good ol’ American Philly cheesesteaks to make up for it.
  22. Although you can have a medal for any saint, St. Christopher medals were iconic when I was growing up as he was/is the patron saint of travelers and traveling was/is considered risky. My Mom never let us go on any long trips without a St. Christopher medal. After the issue of whether St. Christopher really existed came up and he was downgraded, she told us we should still carry a "Mister" Christopher medal, just in case.
  23. Blame it on Wayne Newton. He did a popular song called "Dankeschon." I always thought that's how you say "thank you" in German. Thanks for letting me know otherwise.
  24. Although I hate that J! is doing the Champion Wildcard series because of the writers' strike (thankfully settled), I am really enjoying the stories the players are telling about life after winning. I actually look forward to the interviews. Also, the players seem more relaxed as they are already Jeopardy Champions and never expected to be back. This leads to more banter and, from my viewpoint, a lot more fun to watch.
  25. 2/5, no *. With apologies to Joan, I’ll bring steak tips.
