  1. And OF COURSE it happened at the airport. What a cute twist to the typical romcom ending. I like the callbacks when Isaac took the free kick. First Jamie handing the ball to Dani and then Dani handing the ball to Isaac, who tried to give it to Colin, who refused to take it. Then Isaac seeing the greyhound mascot (look out, little doggie!) Finally Isaac kicking the ball through the net, with the power he used when he did the corner kick during the Dani/Isaac exchange in practice. Great scene!
  2. To me, the finale was perfect. So many great moments, so many call backs, so many plotlines resolved. But the best part was when all the players pulled out the pieces of the Believe sign they had been carrying around and put it back together. Unrealistic as hell, but let's face it, the whole show was unrealistic. The main reason I loved this show was that it showed a gentler, happier, quirkier existence than could ever really exist. Ted's story is done. I now look forward to when Ted's hitherto unmentioned sister, Tracey Lasso, shows up to coach the Richmond Lady Hounds (better known as the Richmond Bitches.)
  3. It's a minor point, but it kept bugging me. Since all of Midge's friends and family were at the taping, who was watching Ethan and Esther?
  4. Thanks for the information. I know nothing about soccer/football. My local MLS team won a game last week by penalty kicks, which is why I thought of it. But I guess they are playing for a cup (the Open Cup?) Is there a post-season cup match for the top teams, equivalent to the Super Bowl? I thought I read that Man City has won the Premier League championship but has the chance to win two more trophies this year.
  5. 1/5. I started Monday with a win, then made the same mistake that Ben did on Tuesday and didn’t have a clue for the rest of the week. I think it was karma biting me because I was rooting for Ben to lose. (He seems like a nice guy but I don’t like runaway games.)
  6. I’m predicting the final game ends in a draw with penalty kicks deciding the outcome so that we can get hero moments for each of the players we have come to know over the last three years. if Rebecca and Ted end up together (which I hope they don’t), Rebecca will rush to the airport to express her love to Ted before he flies back to America. What could be more romcom than that? I also think that we will learn that Nate walked in on Rupert assaulting Ms. Kakes (is that his former assistant’s name?) and that is the reason he left West Ham and why Bex and the assistant shows up on Rebecca’s doorstep. Rupert is arrested and disgraced, giving him the punishment he deserves.
  7. I think each of these characters were essential for showing growth. Shandy showed what life would have been like for Keely if she hadn't connected with Rebecca. It also showed that she could make hard business decisions when she fired Shandy. Jack showed Keely that she needed someone who would accept her the way she was or no one at all. Zava showed the team that they should not rely on one star player, that they needed to work as team. Zava also inspired Jamie to put in the work he needed so he could have the respect that he craved. I agree Shandy and Jack were around longer than I liked, but I think all three characters were important plot advancements.
  8. I noticed that any time Nick went to introduce Jade in the restaurant, she disappeared. I'm beginning to get "I see dead people" vibes about her.
  9. I've always hated the scripted banter between presenters, so I won't miss that. Maybe this means the Tonys can show more performances from the nominated shows, which is really why I watch. The one thing Broadway performers know is how to perform live in front of an audience and deal with anything unexpected that may happen. However, I want to make clear that writers are essential and deserve to be fairly compensated, especially in light of the increasing streaming of shows. I will also miss the opening number the Tonys usually have, although I have never seen anything better (or bigger!) than the Neil Patrick Harris opener from 2013.
  10. 2/5, no *. I'll bring those temporary tattoo stickers that don't hurt at all when you put them on!
  11. If the writers' strike goes on through the summer, NBC may show Transplant in the fall in place of its scripted shows since they already have a season worth of shows done.
  12. I agree. No Primetime games in the FJ contest.
  13. Hungary has given up the rights to host the 2024 European Championships, citing its close proximity to the fighting in Ukraine and the economic hardships it is undergoing as a result of the war. (Also, IMHO, no need to get the Russians upset since they still won't be able to compete.)
  14. 3/5, 1*. In honor of Jonathan Swift, I’ll bring Sugar Babies.
  15. Ilia Malinin got himself in trouble with a response to a question asking if he had to prove that he was straight. He has apologized for his response. Why is a skater's sexual orientation even being talked about these days? Gay, straight, bi, who cares?
  16. Actually, I think Shandy's behind it. I also think Jack is going to pull out her financing of PRKJ, Keely gets funding elsewhere (Rebecca maybe?) and Barbara asks Keely if she can stay as her CFO. Added: Sorry, @MMLEsq, didn't see your post until I did mine. Obviously great minds think alike.
  17. The ending had to be a tribute to the Godspell movie, which ended with the tribe dancing down an empty city street, going around a corner and then being absorbed by the people in the suddenly crowded sidewalks.
  18. When the doorbell rang at the end, I said “Please don’t let it be Jamie, please don’t let it be Jamie” and then it was Jamie. I didn’t expect that he was the one that Keely sent the video to, though. There is nothing that can’t be made better by having a group of people singing the last three minutes of Hey, Jude together.
  19. Asking for a ruling now. For Monday's FJ I said Gulliver without a first name because I had no idea what his first name was. Does that count as correct? Mayim said Gulliver alone first and then gave the full name.
  20. 3/5 with 3*. Funny that for me the asterisks were all instagets while I couldn’t even come up with a guess for the other two. Makes me feel smart and dumb at the same time. So I’ll bring candy: Smarties and Dum Dum suckers.
  21. I think this is the place I've been wracking my brain trying to remember the name of. It's in Amish country, right? I live in Cincinnati and went there for dinner one Saturday with friends of mine. We had to make reservations about a month in advance. I thought of the place with this episode but can't remember the name. The restaurant was very popular. Sorry to hear the pandemic closed it to non-B&B guests. The B&B was also popular during the summer. Lots of Amish shops in the area.
  22. I've had the same problem. Glad to know it isn't just me.
