  1. I’ve always been amused by southern pronunciations of certain cities. There’s a town in Southern Missouri, Hayti, pronounced Hay-Tie. Then there’s DeKalb, Georgia, pronounced De-Cab.
  2. Yes, I agree. We fundamentally disagree. I did give an interpretation of my own in the post you quoted. I’m not sure how I’ve moved any goal posts, as this is our first interaction. Perhaps you are confusing me with someone else. I did not specify what Mary should do or say due to her race, so please don’t imply I have done so. I’m not sure how you came to your conclusions, but I know bigotry when it’s as blatant as this. If one does not already know, one only needs to perform a cursory search for why Mary’s words are bigoted. Agree to disagree and I will comment no further.
  3. At the risk of sounding obtuse, can you elaborate on what was political and one-sided?
  4. Then he shouldn’t have come to Shannon’s house? His dad has his own house, and I assume his mother has some type of home. He knew the deal. 🤷‍♀️ I know Shannon is a PIA, but she has reason for her extreme worries about COVID and her health. I’m a nurse who’s cared for patients with bronchiectasis. Perfectly healthy people are dying. Shannon is lucky she survived the virus.
  5. I think Mary said that for her TH. She did not deny what Jen said, which was Mary will not enter a 7/11 if black people are present.
  6. I strongly disagree. I didn’t interpret Jen’s comment at all the same way. Jen told a black woman, who underwent lengthy surgery to appear more euro-centric, including lightening her skin, used multiple slurs weaponized against the black community for decades, and who’d previously stated that black people are violent and to be avoided. Jen was simply saying, yo - you’re black. Jen did not say, or even imply IMO, that Mary should “act black”. There is absolutely every way that remark can be reasonably interpreted other than the way you have. Jen did what I hope any wife, mother, aunt of a black person would do - get offended by small minded, bigoted words. I was offended and I only have POC in my extended family. If I were Jen, Mary would have given more bug-eyed, pearl-clutching, fake shock at my words. If anything is called out at the reunion, it better be the fact that Mary is a cult leader who exploits and impoverishes her parishioners.
  7. We can assume BJ is dead dead, but she wouldn’t be the only dead organ donor to be secretly alive on this show.
  8. I find it highly unlikely that Kim starting taking ballet in college, and was en pointe after four years. Either she doesn’t know what en pointe means or she’s lying. I agree. It’s also interesting that Kim points out that Hosanna never had a problem with their parenting style. Yep, she became a teen bride and got the hell out of town. There’s a reason eldest daughter is not on the show.
  9. I’ve never cared much for Kaycee, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. The reason she won Big Brother is because she got to Tyler first.
  10. I thought she said she’d kill him.
  11. Plus, has he never heard that people can convert to Judaism? Most likely, but I wouldn’t put it past Bravo to fuck with the timing. It’s been reported that housewives have often been given incorrect call times to cause anger and irritation.
  12. They got that aspect wrong in the recent rendition also. Also inaccurate in the recent, Mary most likely had a French accent, rather than Scottish, as she was raised in France. They also call her the Queen of Scotland, when the title was Queen of Scots.
  13. Oh Charles definitely made a concerted effort to convince the world that Camilla was the love of his life, regardless of the fact that she wasn’t even his only long term mistress - but that wouldn’t have redeemed Charles, right? He also made a big deal of having Camilla use one of his lesser titles, Duke of Cornwall, so as not to trigger the Diana fans with a POW title. He’s also announced Camilla would never become queen consort, although most no longer believe him. It’s believed that Camilla was more a maternal figure for him, as he had a cold, distant mother*, and Camilla’s role is to coddle and indulge him. The BRF is a cold, dysfunctional family, where a child has to call a parent’s secretary to make an appointment to visit mom or dad. While Diana also came from a disturbing childhood*, her response was to desperately need attention and adoration. Not a good mix. *There is a famous picture of the months-gone queen greeting 3 y/o Charles with a hand shake. *Diana was the disappointing third daughter when a male heir was required. Diana’s mother left Earl Spencer (there’s rumors of spousal abuse) to run off with a married man when Diana was six, and lost custody of the children. Diana was later said to push her step-mother down the stairs. Mods please forgive, Sorry for the extremely long post. The current white-washing of Diana in The Crown is a little irritating, and unfair to the people negatively affected by her actions. And Sunny’s simplistic response - infidelity is evil - inspires a more nuanced view.
  14. I found The Crown conversation interesting. I was a full-fledged Diana-loon as a kid, and cast Charles and Camilla as straight villains. But over the years, a lot has come out to show a more nuanced look at Diana, and how she was a very troubled woman. She threw herself down the stairs for attention while pregnant with William, and went on to have several affairs herself while married. In fact, she was obsessed with a doctorate after he went on to marry, harassed him and his wife quite badly At the time, and perhaps even now, cheating was a part of life in an aristocratic marriage. Diana, coming from that background, should have known this, but was a sheltered, lonely girl who idealized romance novels. As an adult I see three people trapped in an unhappy existence. Camillia’s ex was no victim, and was a prolific cheater himself. The problem was Charles and Diana had nothing in common, and were remarkably different people. Diana was a sacrificial lamb, but Charles didn’t get much happiness out of the arrangement either.
  15. You’re being very generous in giving the show the benefit of the doubt regarding a who’s the daddy storyline. 😉
  16. Plenty of switched at birth babies would have been better off with their fake parents. I can’t imagine Jax could have done a worse job with Spencer than Nikolas. At the very least, Spencer wouldn’t have been such a sniveling elitist calling other children “townies”, while living in a depressing gothic mansion with his psychotic great-grandmother creeping around in the catacombs. He would have missed out on Laura, but she was as overly indulgent of him as Nikolas.
  17. That was a very strange moment. I thought maybe Sam had gotten into another litter box.
  18. I haven’t seen any snide remarks from Francesca either. Until I’ve witnessed her screaming about a raging case of herpes, I will dismiss all of Kate’s accusations of mistreatment by a chief stew. Kate actually defended Jenna, so her opinion is beyond questionable to me. Now Rachel did make a remark on WWHL about also being on the receiving end of a few Francesca remarks, but maybe it occurred in the midst of another raging Rachel moment of threatening to cut off genitals. It’s also possible that Francesca told Rachel to shut her filthy, fucking mouth on the radio where guests may overhear. 🤷‍♀️ I can’t get over Rachel’s glee on preparing a dish that has extreme animal suffering, or her laugh when talking about it. I can’t even imagine what sets her off in the next preference meeting, certainly nothing regarding humane treatment of food animals. I’m guessing the guests don’t have refined taste and request food that they would like to eat, versus allowing Rachel to preen in their praise of her fancy pants dishes. On WWHL, Rachel said she auditioned for ANTM on a lark and was rejected. She wasn’t a model. I agree on Shane and Elizabeth. I wouldn’t mind seeing them both gone, or at least Liz being stripped of her second stripe.
  19. Meredith also does this little rocking, twisting while talking out of the side of her mouth, and bobbing her head. Along with the monotone voice, i find her strangely mesmerizing.
  20. I have no recollection of this. Lol. I watched every episode and was allowed to stay up thirty minutes past my bedtime to watch it. I remember Nellie marrying Percival - the guy her parents hired to teach her to cook. She fell in love with him when he dumped eggs on her head, and they had twins.

Absolutely not. Just summarizing other comments. I think she’s gorgeous.

    Seriously. Fat and masculine?
  23. I remember someone around here asked if Gretta was pregnant. At the time I wondered about her cancer treatment, and if it was over to allow a pregnancy. But I just googled and Gretta is 50! So probably not.
  24. What did Whoopi say about Kayleigh’s husband? I thought it was something about her husband showing up yesterday without a mask. For a second I thought she was referring to the set of The View. Why not, Whoopi was wearing a stained painter’s smock. Thank you for explaining it, and I agree.
  25. I’ve always felt sorry for Catherine Howard. She had a disinterested guardian in a home with very little rules. She became sexually active at a young age, and I can’t help but think she was preyed on by older men in that house. Then to be married at seventeen to fat, festering leg wound, probably impotent, unbalanced Henry. She was probably grateful to be yet another victim of beheading by Henry.
