S09.E20: Reunion Part 2

Ya'll, Joan Rivers was just taken off life support and pronounced. http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/joan-rivers-private-hospital-room-professionally-decorated-friend-article-1.1927433 -
LMAO!!!!!

^^ lol thank ya luvie! I hear you, I do. I would say that he knows his stuff isn't for everybody and add that in order to support a TP production, knowing what we know about his model, being a fan is a requirement. I'm in a won't knock the hustle but not paying for it sort of category. I agree that he wants all of his demographic's money but I also think that there are more than enough in that fan base that he doesn't need to care about those who aren't. It's sort of the way I would guess the big tobacco giants feel about advertising in Asia. If they could just get all of China to start smoking, I promise you they'd give not one hot damn if every American on the face of the earth never picked up another cigarette again.

You all have been making me nod, laugh and check my own pressure for the last page or so. I would've agreed with all of you had it not been for an interview I heard Tyler give on the radio a few years ago. As a result of it (now that I understand what he said he's trying to do), I have to say that I disagree that he's not a good screenwriter, we'll get to acting in a second lol. He addressed the coonery criticisms (personally, my biggest issue with him) by saying that 99% of his productions, stage play and film, are meant to appeal to a very specific demographic. In a snap, just like that, I quit hating the player. He's writing to, for, about and featuring bible toting, outspoken, big mamas everywhere and by design, isn't even trying to appeal to us. What he says is the benefit is that a largely unaddressed niche sees themselves or people they can relate to represented on screen, where a *voice* for this audience simply didn't exist before. The real benefit imo is of course that if and when that niche turns you into a gazillionaire you've got a a platform to say and produce what you really want to do for the rest of us (that's still my issue with him, if he's got a message I wish the hell he'd get to it). The man makes a valid point though. In the history of black cinema (and trust, I hate that he will be included in this category), this audience has not been catered to. Blacks as domestics or sexy knife wielding action heroines or quippy non threatening sidekicks or sad souls waiting for an inevitable white hero are the genres that have been covered. The roles Tyler Perry has made a point to create for black actors (as leads) are still somehow rare in 2014. That's what's sad, he's virtually alone in what he's trying to accomplish. Is he syrupy and heavy handed as hell? Yup. But again, I beseech you not to be too mad at him, he's not targeting us. He says this is no different than the dudes who make the same version of a stupid ass frat boy or stoner kid movie that hollywood supports year after year but nobody questions those directors about the quality and delivery of their message. Didn't mean for this to sound sermony, I just wanted to tell ya'll I used to sideye him as well, but in good conscience I can't anymore because a) he was never checking for me, b) he keeps black hollywood working and d) I can't knock the man's hustle, it's clearly a working model that has made him financially successful. Spike Lee told Oprah he buried his hatchet too for pretty much the same reason, whether you agree with his content or not, he made himself a key player in a field that was (and still is) largely closed. And Spike, as an example is someone who should know. Damn near all his stuff was about something and it took him 25 years to become a crossover household name. Ok so about the acting. If you wanna talk about me being salty as shit that somebody cast Tyler as Alex Cross in one of John Grisham's movies, I'm here for you all day. #couldnotbefurtherfromthetruth

you owe me a new spleen. ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!! Dear Hosebeast, your tanorexia addiction has affected me in the following ways...... show of hands, who's grateful to the Tamisman for the lessons she's taught us with regard to sunscreen? BWARARAAAAAGHAAAAAA!!! Hey Leese? start running a tab, I think we owe you a chicken dinner! Welcome to the foolishness girl! LOL. What? this isn't a phrase that springs to mind when you think of good moms everywhere? What number are we up to? Remember to look directly into the camera with the red light on as you screech howler monkey style and state that the words coming out of your mouth are YOUR OPINION! Be mindful not to stretch your mouth edges too wide, that Sigourney Weaver shit was scary enough in the movies. I'm gonna need ya'll to quit referencing Danielle. She's not a real person and therefore, was never here. ::swingspocketwatch:: you're..getting..sleepy -

::curtsey:: Lmao!! I love the phrase like a boss. I say it whenever I can use my full jerseygirl accent. Boss is actually a two syllable word pronounced like this: baw-uss. Teddybear, confirm? lol!!! I kid, I kid. Smooth stuff ain't it? We got a hold of the blue label clear and girl I took a "selfie" that I wasn't in, from under the tanning bed. -

I think she said this too. It could be true, it could not, I don't care, either way it was unnecessary and childish. I thought the point Lizzie kept trying and failing to make was that she was upset at Tamra for not calling earlier. Sophia's been sick the whole day right? right Tams? so if say that at 2 o' clock, not, as one of them put it, an hour after you're expected. Production is on some shit about this, birthday or happy hour at Crapplebees, if I'm waiting on my party bus, bitch we are NOT standing there for 60 minutes. Ok, on our last vacation, our room came with full sized bottles of Reposado 1800. I'd never had any kind of tequila so my dude was like try this, you'll love it. I started to wonder how it wound up as the shot glass drink of choice. My analysis? No headache, like from vodka and no throat burn like from whiskey or bourbon. I can only speak for myself when I say that it might be reaching to classify it as enjoyable. I can see why Heather doesn't like it, it tastes like premium unleaded and is probably not for anybody reluctant to abandon control. then going back to his van, down by the river. -

^^ Lol. Like Heather *says* she wants to, I learned something new today. Giggled at the Lipton way. Yeah I didn't think Heather's joke was racist, it was just nothing. It was more of a fail than Vickie's no scratchy the woody because Vickie is an ignorant ass simp, but Heather has some sense so this was just...know when to stop talking some more. -

Tamra needs to build a fuckin bridge then get right over it. The one rule of marry shag kill is that your own partner is excluded from being any of your choices so agreeing to even play is made of all kinds of: do you think my friend so and so is pretty? Shit, if you're not a grown ass enough woman to hear the answer to that, here's what, don't ask. Midnight Cheese I've been guffawing at *dry cry* all day!! Especially now in rewatch. Bitch snatched those "tears" back swiftly ain't she? Lmao! -

I might be studying it too hard. I thought what she was getting at was: Lizzie said Eddie wanted to eff her, so we decided not to go, but if....girl, nevermind, thank you for trying, my brain's about to fissure. I'm spreading my arms wide and Letting It Go (™ H. Dubrow) -
I wanted to clear something up. This is of course, family law and state specific but it is untrue that a grandparents’ entitlement to be in their grandchild’s life is a right, that’s what most assume. It’s actually a legal privilege. The primary principle guiding that privilege is made by something called a best interest determination. But it’s made backwards. The court asks “how it would be detrimental to a child not to have contact with their grandparents.” If the custodial parent can satisfy a family court judge that their child would be negatively affected by their relationship with their grandparent(s), they are not entitled to this privilege. Been debating jumping in here because I know more about this than I should. Forgive me if you’ve heard the details before (I shared this on TWOP). 7 years ago my parents sued me for full custody and child support of my daughter. Ten minutes into court, the Judge said you can’t have custody of any kind, you haven’t even come close to proving her unfit (the standard for awarding custody to a non-biological parent). Tell me why you’re here. They said, she (me) was denying us access to our granddaughter and we just wanted to teach her a lesson. Judge looked down at her notes then up at me and said: where’d the baby (my daughter) spend Halloween? I said with my parents Your Honor, she was there for the weekend. Then she stated more than asked them, you filed an order for full custody…and visitation…on the Friday of the weekend that your granddaughter was at your house? If it’s not too late to make a long story short, the end of it is. My parents received no custody but the minimum amount of visitation they were entitled to by law. Since they don’t take losses well, they tried again 3 years ago by calling CPS and alleging my kid was being sexually abused and that I was literally, standing by watching. Apologies, my point here is that as diplomatically as can be said, there are absolutely circumstances that require a mother to say fuck that, fuck you and fuck everything you’ve been up until this point, because if you come for my children, all bets are off. In my humble opinion, and as someone who has also spent two years of tuition in legal fees, I submit that whatever Kim’s voluntary expenses are, are her business, that's what she chose to spend money on. Her point was that nobody has the right to force you to blow a ton of cash to prove that you have the right to raise your children. By the way, for Kim’s parents not to have even been granted supervised visitation, means the legal system has to have found that they are as vile as she’s described. Selling stories to the media about the girls having two different fathers and this even being news, is pretty eligible. They’re assholes and she’s got every right not to have her kids exposed to them no matter who they are. I don’t know if anybody was a fan of tardy for the wedding, but in retrospect, you can absolutely see the shades of passive aggression and control issues that were Kim’s mom’s specialty then. As for Kroy, like ya’ll I can only guess as to what happened there but what I can say with confidence is that if they had ever uttered any disparaging version of : no wonder her parents don’t speak to her, yeah, that’s an instant fuck you too and I for one, big him up for standing by his wife. From his TH though, something, as was said upthread, gave me the impression that it’s also temporary. sorry for the novel. eta: paragraph breaks are my friend.

From Tamra's blog I've read it two and half times and I got nothing. If you understand it (the timing she's explaining), please share with the class. Heather's joke about being the Real Housewives of Guadalajara: Teddybear I've only ever heard it one way, cheerfully standing corrected. :) Do you have a Twitter account? Maybe we could tell her too! lol. -

Lmao!! Baby it's impossible to Aviva age shame my ass, I'll say it first. 'Sides, I'm amongst friends. Just shutup and pass the sunscreen ;) Ok real talk I don't think this was such a big deal but I do think it was covered under what Heather said: when you already don't like someone it's not hard at all to find what they say/do irritating. -

Shannon, 2. Camerman, 1. Every single one of them other bitches, goosegg. IMHO, this is a spectacular piece of the problem. No one is more certain of this than Heather. The thing about intelligence (again, imo) is that it isn't just made of cerebral book knowledge and the ability to retain and regurgitate an extensive vocabulary at will. It includes, in greater measure, some self awareness, a healthy dose of self deprecation, the ability to laugh at yourself, sense of humor helps and yes, not only the ability but the unsolicited willingness to apologize without explanation or quantification. Heather is more smug than any other housewife I've seen, smart? Misfortunately, not. I caught a teeny piece. When she came over with the tissue box, Heather sat down and tried to soothe Lizzie by saying that Tamra had only said nice things to and about her all season. Lizzie is really slow on her feet because considering what a vile fucked up human being Tamra was being as Heather was saying this, one is trumped by the other, no? In advance I apologize for the Dubrosity of this statement. Timbre is pronounced as she said it. Unless she were pulling a James Lipton and being temporarily french, in which case, it would be pronounced tam-ber. A) you said a normal person. B) No, girl didn't you hear her say how she loves to learn new things and she remembered Vicki telling her that she (Vicks) also loves to learn from her friends. She insisted that the thing about the proper room temperature of wine was about an exchange of information. I'm not certain as to the purpose of the "see, I'm right" which followed. I loved 3 moments. Bitter bitter bitter. Heather wrinkling her nose at Lizzie's "disingenuine" and Shannon telling Heather whatchu not gone do is tell me what I did and can't come with facts when I remember it with distinct clarity andplusalso I'm the original muffucah who did it. What? Bea-dor, bum bah yay! Danielle is Cousin Oliver. If she's collecting a check though, I'm not mad at her. Ooooh, I almost forgot, the moment I thought was gonna turn into something was when Tamra was monkey-screeching Lizzie about something and Andy almost inaudibly said to Tamra: did you just say something about taking Lizzie down? Andy you fuckin ritalin addict, if you're gonna ask a question, shit, do it! Lizzie's shade would've been much better served if she'd had any, I mean one, ounce of conviction behind her delivery and if she didn't allow Tamra to reduce her to tears. Tamra is the original below the belt title holding bitch, she's talking shit about your marriage, kids and family and you have crickets?? Girl, I don't wanna see that shit in a blog, get your composure back and serve that heffa up. -
-
Lol!! He knows your heart girl.

That's the one. I missed a big chunk of the episode last night. Guuuurl. It's better than the show. {{sips tea}} Speaking of big chunks......Praise Him. I'll shut the door on my way out.
-
But did ya'll see the aftershow last night? Ron is a lot to take. Ain't no way 'the worl you can call me a Jezebel and I'm STILL sitting across from you justifying my relationship with my man. I did laugh at him talk about how important relationships are while telling his wife to get her hand off his back though. lol! I pledged to give this up last season so I might've missed the cuts, what happened to pastor S Curl? Techno you really wanna sideye some ostentatiousness? Girl there used to be an Al B. Sure blinged out rev up in here, full entourage, Bentley, quadrillion sq. ft. mansion and all that. It hurt to see Loretta choked up into silence. She really does love Noel. It might hurt even more to give Bishop Ron any amount of shine but I agree with him, they're never getting married. HE might get married but it won't be to Loretta, there's no incentive. Noel's celibacy narrative is annoying. Bro you've known her since the 90s. Now then ladies, the Lord so loveth a cheerful giver, soooo about those Dietrick links? You just oughta share.
