  1. So sad. When I saw a post about it on FB, I was hoping against hope that it was an old article. How brave of her to have hid it for so long and to film BH90210 knowing what she was going through, as a tribute to Luke. Also, even sadder that she's known for so long and not shared it with her mother and husband, and only doing so because she doesn't want them to find out from a lawsuit. I've been one of Shannen's biggest fans since Our House (I watched LHotP, but I was so little) and have followed her since. Prayers and healing thoughts to her. If anyone's strong enough, she is!!
  2. Am I the only one that misses 80s Tom Hanks? Give me Bosom Buddies, Splash, Dragnet and other similar movies over everything Forrest Gump and after ANYDAY!!
  3. @ratgirlagogo!! 😍😍 Thank you, thank you, thank you for the laugh and happy news tonight. It's the last week of my first semester of grad school, and they helped!! I am SO going to look for this show!! That sounds AMAZING!! I still have my "Top 10 Signs You're a Jericholic" tee. I have his first book, but need the second! I went to find a great Jericho video to send you off with. I simply YT'ed "Chris Jericho" and filtered for highest rating. This came up. Who knew how many shoppers were out there??..who am I kidding? I was one of them!!πŸ˜‚πŸ€£
  4. Bwah!! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ How silly of me, @MikaelaArsenaultThe list was getting quite long. There's just SOMETHING about Harry (R.I.P.)!!😍😍

  6. At the time, it was a warm and cozy moment. Now, it seems more like it was his way of saying goodbye. Either way, I sob.
  7. Mine is so random, but I just have to mention it. I was such a fan of the VH1's I Love the (70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, and all their sequels)!! They're ALL funny and great for a laugh, but I LITERALLY thought I'd pee my pants when.. 1985...they're about to go to commercial and the VO says..."coming up..one of the most momentous music events of the century" and showing the "We Are the World" performance...."And the PISSED OFF PEOPLE who didn't get to go!!"..cut to separate shots of Alice Cooper and Sammy Hagar looking very disgruntled!! Seriously, it's all in the delivery!! I can be having the worst day, play that scene a couple of times and I'll be crying from laughter. They're all on YouTube, if you were a fan (or want to see what they were about)!! I'm drawing a blank on anything else right now..yikes!!
  8. I can't believe a couple of these haven't been mentioned!! With the exception of Pee-Wee, haven't even gotten to the kid shows/cartoons! Nip/Tuck-to this day, the hand moving still freaks me out (note: this is NOT one of the best intros, IMO, but notable) The Monkees Dukes of Hazzard Perfect Strangers Knight Rider incredible Hulk Pee-Wee's Playhouse Edit: I was hesitant to add, bc couldn't remember if they were mentioned...they're too good NOT to add!! The Greatest American Hero Mork & Mindy
  9. Tje original survey no longer works, so I'm going in blind (Brown Sugar is Louisiana's favorite show. Never heard of it--going look it up after I comment) True Blood AHS: Coven True Detective: Season 1 Swamp People Duck Dynasty I'd say out of the four, TB is the "one of these things is not like the others." I guess because it was ALL supernatural, but also because it didn't represent us very well. Meanwhile TD really defined actually places and traits. SP and DD, definitely, bc SO much hunting (yuck) that has been ingrained into our lifestyles. I was born and raised in NOLA and AHS struck just the right blend of our fascination and history with witchcraft and voodoo.
  10. Saddest: Bill McNeill Newsradio. Fuck you, Brynn Hartman. Fuck you, Andy Dick. I can't find it online, but the scene where they're reading their letters from him is PERFECT. I can always hear Phil's voice reading those exact words. You can tell how real the cast's grief is (it's widely known how many times they had to stop filming bc of cast and crew breaking down). Most Shocking: During GoT's run, I was working 80-100 hrs a week and was always behind. You really get to know how much people suck by 1. The fact that they purposely spoil you 2. The glee they take in doing so. That being said, the third season of ER. I was 19 at the time and felt so badly for Gant. most shocking (fictional) TV moment I remember is the scene where they get an unrecognizable patient that got hit by the El. They grumble about Gant not being there and page him...only for the patient's beeper to go off. Everything stopped for a moment while everyone peered in to get s good look at the patient, Carter's "sweet Jesus!" And Benton starts to work frantically. It was such a powerful moment to me. How I learned about death: especially poignant today, a couple of days after Carroll Spinney's death. I hope "Mr. Looper" welcomed him with open arms..**sniff**
  11. Sorry to have to reply to myself, but two more moments. First, Dogma. I adore this move so much!! I had just lost my beloved Maw-Maw when this came out, and it was the first thing that made me laugh. Particularly when Carlin came out as the Cardinal. I almost peed my pants! The part right after where Matt Damon sells "The Walrus and the Carpenter" as an allusion to organized religion is brilliant as well. Little Shop of Horrors. One of my fave movies of all time and THIS might be my favorite scene of all time.
  12. I'm SO sorry to reply to myself. However, I cannot believe I forgot this one!! The ending of A.I./Artificially Intelligence In an entire movie where I cringed at the horrors David and the other AI entities suffered through (Very few characters have I hated more than Martin, just for being, and Henry and Monica for how they tossed David away), I avoid watching this movie most for the ending. Not so much because of David and faux-Monica's deaths, but poor, poor, Teddy who is now stuck at the side of his dead companion for the rest of eternity. I ugly-cried for quite awhile after the credits rolled. Another reason I do not re-watch is because I have yet been able to watch any Robin Williams movie, and the Ask the Professor scene will be brutal when I get around to it.
  13. I am SO happy to see so much Soapdish love!! (I looked up the trivia section on IMDB and was SHOCKED to see that apparently Kevin Spacey was the voice of Adam on the answering machine!!) I'm almost positive my favorite part has not been mentioned. Short and sweet (NSFW):
  14. BWAH!! Too funny!! Yes, my parents honestly did not put restrictions on my watching, which led me to watching Reform School Girls before I was ten and seeing Poltergeist when I was six or seven, leading to my Ronald McDonald doll being shunned to the attic, where he remains today. πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ As far as trivia, I'm just a geek at heart. I spend way too much time on IMDB!
  15. @Shannon L. HOLY CREPE!! You have MADE my night!! You must be my sister from another mother!! Yup, I'll bet we're around the same age--I'll be 42 in July! 1. YA-AAAAS!! She was gorgeous!! It cracked me up that the police kept rounding up herds of girls that looked NOTHING like Billie Jean!! There could be only one!! 2. THIS is the one I thought NOBODY would get!! Love this so much!! RIP, Stephen Furst!! Did you know that Donna, the brunette captain of the Red Team, went on to play Maude Flanders? The reason they infamously killed Maude off? Because they refused to give Maggie Rosswell a few thousand dollar raise, and she had been flying herself from Denver every week to shoot. 3. I wish I still had the full-length poster of LB I had on my wall. I never knew until I was an adult that it was a retelling of Peter Pan. Didn't Kiefer make THE perfect asshole?? I actually watched DaLD last night (it's free on Amazon Prime). I don't mind it at all. It was Haim's last "big" movie before the drugs overtook him. I thought his bit part outshone Feldman. Also, I absolutely adored Jason Robards (My fave role of his is probably Something Wicked This Way Comes. It had a great soundtrack, too! 4. John Candy. **sigh** As for Dragnet, Dan Ackroyd also wrote and produced and he supposedly wanted Jim Belushi as his partner. Thank God (it's Friday!) that Jim wasn't available and we got Tom instead! I REALLY wish they would come out with anniversary/collector's edition blu-ray editions of these movies!!
  16. I can't believe nobody has mentioned Honey, I Shrunk the Kids!! I can no longer watch it bc of the grief I experience when the baby ant dies defending the kids!! Also, The Crow because of what happened to Brandon and Selena, especially the hospital scene because you know it actually happened.. Other movies I can't watch bc of deaths that have already been mentioned:: Atrex in The Neverending Story and Goliath (not to mention all the other abuse/experimentation) in Project X. Somehow, I'm able to deal with my sadness and keep watching through: Matthew in Anne of Green Gables The Shoe in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Richie in La Bamba I'm sure I'll be back with more..
  17. I've been with PTV since the beginning; yet, somehow, never found this thread. I don't think they're stupid, but putting them here to be safe.. The fact that there is so much Grease 2 talk makes me SO happ!! I've loved it for as long as I can remember!! I had my Dad tape it on our Beta-Max and I must have seen it at least one hundred times since. Had a couple cassette copies of the soundtrack. I never cared for "My Charade" though..I always preferred Johnny to Michael. The Legend of Billie Jean-could never get tired of this one!! It makes me sad that allegedly Pat Benetar introduces "Invincible" as "a song from the worst movie ever made." I had such a crush on Keith Gordon in this movie! Great movie, great music, great cast! Midnight Madness-Michael J Fox and Pee-Wee Herman before they were stars! I always find myself saying "SS Itari is mixed up and blind," "Fagabeefe" and "Eaaaaaaster Bunny! Easter Parade!" The Wraith-I ADORED Brandon Lee, but I think The Crow ripped off their plot from this movie. It's funny, but all the Charlie Sheen movies I have seen all came out in 1986. This movie is SO bad, but I can't tell you how many times I rented it (and I now own it). The Lost Boys, Dream a Little Dream and License to Drive-The Corey's still can do no wrong...no, wait...I forgot about Blown Away..**shudder** Dragnet--see Splash--am I the only one who preferred Tom Hanks in is comedy movies and Bosom Buddies days?? This one was great. Hanks, Dan Ackroyd, Christopher Plummer, Dabney Coleman, Harry Morgan. April Fool's Day-I see there was Clayton Rohner love earlier in this thread. Here's another of his movies! PLUS Thomas Wilson (Biff and the other Tannen roles from BttF movies)! Nightmare on Elm St. Part IV: The Dream Master-my favorite of the franchise! Plus, the best soundtrack! Home for the Holidays-Robert Downey Jr. Was SO high, but the movie is SO good! Fright Night-"You're so cool, Brewster!!" He was decades older than me, but possibly my second celebrity crush ever (after seeing David Bowie in Layrinth) was Christopher Sarandon. The Man with Two Brains-I KNOW this one is stupid, loved it anyways! Witchboard, Garbage Pail Kids, Nightbreed... Seconding the love in this thread for Soapdish, Splash, 9 to 5, Just One of the Guys, Clueless, Dogma, Crybaby..
  18. Carroll Spinney, better known as Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch has passed away this morning at 85. He had been suffering from dystonia. Sesame Street just posted this on their FB page and it hasn't hit the media yet, so I'm posting screenshots of the announcement instead. Heartbroken. This guy was such a huge part of my childhood and making me who I am today.😭😭😭
  19. Hi everyone!!! I used to be really active two years ago, but fell off PTV for some reason. MISSED Y'ALL!!! Just read/reread through all 139 pages! A couple thoughts: 1..In the case of Rebecca Zazou, I completely think she was murdered. I have to add I'm a bit grossed out by her sister and family. They wound up settling with Shaknai for $600k. First, you're basically saying 1. He didn't kill her 2. She committed suicide. (I always thought money was more important to them, as I remember in the original lawsuit, they included an extra provision for a couple hundred grand bc Rebecca "was the means of out financial support") https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/Settlement-in-Rebecca-Zahau-Civil-Case-San-Diego-Spreckles-Mansion-505423701.html%3famp=y 2. In doing A LOT of googling while catching up on the thread, I would occasionally mistakenly come up on OTHER murders instead. Two stood out to me that I had never heard about and never saw on a program or this thread. A. Sheila Evans-no words. The actual murderer has been executed. I can't believe the evil of the mother. Natural death was too good for this bitch. Warning, I know some of you guys can't look at violence against children. https://www.crimeonline.com/2017/07/27/child-killer-who-raped-toddler-girl-with-help-from-her-own-mother-cries-out-for-forgiveness-before-execution/ B. Deanna Cook. Was killed by ex-husband. There was an ELEVEN minute 911 call where he's literally choking her, she falls out of consciousness, comes back, he chokes her again until he kills her. The 911 dispatcher was unbelievable..I hope she rots and hears Deanna every second of every day... and then it took police AN HOUR to get there..AFTER her family beat them to it!! Here's about 5 minutes of the call played when her Mama was on the stand in the trial. God bless her Mother and I hope she can find some peace. (it goes without saying, but WARNING: GRAPHIC:
  20. Thanks SO MUCH for doing this, Joe!! I can't tell you how big a fan of your BtvS recaps I am. It was such a treat to open this thread and see I have new HellAndBack material to look forward to!
  21. I'm the spoilsport. I follow a show for 23 years away for them to turn it into "The Randy Marsh Show." LAME!! [/Awesome-O 2000]
  22. EEEE!! Thanks so much!! I LOVED Ringer!! They need to bring Ioan on board!!
  23. I'm in the minority, but geeking out. "Just when I thought I was out (after last season), they pull me back in."
  24. I remember Cole from School Ties and Dazed and Confused. He was briefly on Good Will Hunting and on several episodes of ER (he played Samantha's ex-husband) . When I googled last night to see if there were any articles about beef with Jennie, it told me he's on s show called Yellowstone now.
  25. I COMPLETELY understand why she said the "I Hate Brenda" bitches... ...I'm STILL wondering about Mike Myers!! I know she was on SNL--it was immediately after she eloped with Ashey Hamilton....hmmm..
