  1. I saw on another site that Jill and Derrick are on their way with the rest of the Duggars to El Salvador for their annual Christmas trip.
  2. I sensed that Alan was pretty happy about the idea of having friends to hang out with...and he's never actually seen women in the role of friends before, so maybe it was easier for him to relax and enjoy himself. Though the male stripper dancing right in his face was pretty funny.
  3. My 17 year old son is starting to watch the reruns and he thinks that anytime Rose appears, it's hilarious. He pretty much only likes the episodes with Charlie, never warmed up to Ashton Kutcher.
  4. I agree the kid is a really good actor. I wonder how old he is? Seems very natural. Loved Alan and Walden carrying him out of the store and then sneaking in a bowl of Fruit Loops at the end of the show.
  5. I thought that I heard the detective ask Alison a couple of episodes ago something about "the night of the wedding". I'm wondering who has gotten married and if this was the night that Scotty died. I wouldn't have guessed Whitney to be pregnant. Not sure about the bulimia thing either, at least not at first, I would have thought she had a stomach virus. Noah seemed to understand what Alison was going through with her grandmother far better than anyone else.
  6. That's not true about Michelle. She met him at age 15 and married him at age 17 and has no other children outside of her marriage to Jim Bob. By the way, I read elsewhere that the Tim Tebow -Jana rumors are just that...rumors. They have never even met.
  7. Louis was great. And Walden was great with him, too. I know it's acting, but their interactions seemed very natural. I bet in real life that Ashton Kutcher is a great dad, especially having been a stepdad for quite a few years. In watching old reruns of the series, I never got a real sense of nurturing from Alan to Jake..it's more like he was either his buddy or he was annoyed by him, even though Jake was only around 10 years old when the series started. Louis is younger (6?), but I got the sense of Walden being a lot more like a father to him right away.
  8. I suspect that Jessa and Ben are living near their inlaws, in either a small house or trailer. Ben is still attending college and he may be working with his dad doing windshield repair. Jessa might have a job now too, for all we know...surely no one would have a problem with Jessa getting her insurance license and selling insurance at the State Farm agency where Ben used to work. Didn't Michelle originally have both her insurance and real estate license when she and Jim Bob got married?
  9. Well, I can't say that I'm surprised at all. Anna's one sister already has 9 children, and I see Josh and Anna having around 10-12 if they continue to have a new baby every two years for the next 16-18 years. I do have to wonder if part of the reason for this is because their show is still popular. I'm not 100% sure that Jim Bob and Michelle would have had 19 if TLC hadn't come knocking at their door.
  10. Speaking of eating healthy, I wonder why we have never seen the Duggars either prepare or eat a soup, stew or stir fry which would incorporate vegetables into their diet and would be enough to prepare for a large crowd in one pot..even chili would be a good option. The boys are all old enough now to help with cooking and chopping vegetables would be fun for them. Anything homemade would also make it easier to control salt content, something that frozen/canned food tends to have too much ofl. They seem to make homemade bread , or Jinger does anyway...why not homemade stew or stirfry?
  11. I would love to see Jana with Tim Tebow...it's her chance of a normal life outside of her family without having to compromise herself as a person or her beliefs. The one thing I feel if this were to happen though, Tim would not put up with the Duggar's silly courting rules...if he and Jana wanted to kiss during their relationship,, so be it. And the Duggars could not do a thing about it, honestly. They would have to eat crow and admit on camera.....Tim and Jana chose to kiss during their courtship...or whatever they would refer to it as. Maybe Jana would decide to wear pants in the future, too, and I also don't see Tim agreeing to having a perpetual chaperone or believing that they must have as many children as the Lord gives them...he's conservative but nowhere near as Fundamentalist as the Duggars are.
  12. If the show goes off the air in the next year or so, due to either controversy or worsening ratings, I think things might be difficult for Jessa and Ben financially. He isn't yet finished with college and is not working full time. Despite whatever they are earning from the show now, I don't think the money would last more than 3 -5 years. Especially if they start having kids immediately.
  13. I have to wonder if TLC will tell the Duggars to cool it if they want their show and happy paycheck that goes along with it.
  14. This episode was okay, but to me it was more boring than last week. I don't get the appeal of David and Priscilla other than as an occasional guest spot. But unless TLC is willing to fly Josh and Anna's family over to Africa to visit her sister Esther (with 9 kids now?) I don't see them socializing with any of her other siblings.. The sister in Texas didn't want to be on camera, probably the same for her married brother and her one sister Suzanne is a single mom. For the record, I see the competitiveness of Josh and David to be something that is strictly producer driver and probably Josh wouldn't even hang out with them if he weren't being paid to do so.
  15. After reading about Tim and what his values are and what he's been up to lately, it sounds like he's perfect for Jana. He says he can't wait to be a dad but I'm sure that doesn't mean he wants 19 kids himself, he already has an independant career and I don't see anything that would stand in the way of Jim Bob's approval. I think Tim would even be fine appearing on their television show.
  16. To be fair to Priscilla, I remember reading somewhere that she was premature....born at 7 months. Also at that time, there was speculation that she is developmentally delayed. So it is possible that her speech patterns and mannerisms could be due to this. I don't know if developmentally delayed is in the same category as mental retardation. I also wonder if it's possible Priscilla was a home birth and if so, that must have been very serious with a premature baby. If I'm not mistaken if might have been on David's website/blog .
  17. I can't remember exactly where I read this, but there was a rumor out there that the Tebow parents were visiting the Duggars and people wondered if Tim was interested in courting Jana. I have no idea what religion the Tebows are (does Tim even play football anymore?) except that they are Christians and he was homeschooled along with his 4 or 5 siblings. People speculate Jim Bob would not allow Jana to marry an athlete, but I really have to wonder about that.
  18. One thing I liked seeing is that Josh really does know how to fix cars, and he has the patience of a saint to travel in that thing with his wife and 3 small children..if I were Anna, I'd have been freaking out. Overall, I find Josh and Anna to be much more likeable than Jim Bob and Michelle even though I'm Jim Bob's age. It must be that I'm burnt out of seeing the two of them spout the same old dialogue over and over again. I also think it was great that they stopped at Gettysburg. Have we ever seen the Duggar family at a historical site? Josh and Anna must be more opened minded about what they show their kids than the Duggars ever were. And those costumes and old time picture turned out great.
  19. My theory on Jana not being shown is because Jim Bob and MIchelle weren't on this episode, it was all about Josh and Anna. So, if Jim Bob and MIchelle aren't being paid, no way is his unmarried daughter getting her own paycheck. Probably the same reason we didn't see Amy or Deanna talk at Jill's wedding, if somebody gets camera time, they have to be paid. Can't have that, with Jim Bob and Michelle steering the ship (I mean show!)
  20. I'm starting to think that there is nothing that the Duggars won't do for the sake of their tv show. If it includes all of the married couples kissing, dry humping, leading a show on how because they are all so pure until marriage that they have sexier sex than anybody else ...they'll go for it. Hopefully some of these pics will cause them to lose a few viewers, they really are full of themselves.
  21. so are they all going to show themselves dry humping next, like Jim Bob and Michelle did at the mini golf date? way to be classy. Wonder what the true Gothardites think about this public display of affection. I didn't mind the first pic that Jessa put up of her and Ben kissing, but this last one looks like it's turning into a sideshow. Then again, I'm way over 40 and never felt the need to make out with my husband publicly, and never did it in front of our kids. Guess I'm too modest for the Duggars.
  22. I really liked Ben's proposal. Seemed very classy to do it in the chapel that Jessa really liked..I too liked when she said "this guy knows me:" I was half expecting her to jump and say, "Of course I'll marry you honey!" rather than her shy yes, but I take it she might have been a bit uncomfortable being the sole center of attention for this episode. I didn't miss Jill, assume she wasn't there due to morning sickness. Is it just me, or does Ben sound like he's often congested...maybe he has asthma/allergies?
  23. Just wanted to comment that I remember back when Josh proposed to Anna, they were in that restaurant in Florida (inside due to the rain) and yes, the camera crew was there, but Anna's parents decided to get up and go for a walk around the restaurant....so, this means no chaperones when Josh proposed to Anna. Is this chaperone around at every second a new thing with the Duggars and was it a bit more relaxes with Josh and Anna compared to Jessa and Jill's courtships?
  24. Frito pie reminds me of a twist on nachos, something to serve at a Superbowl party. But we usually also serve buffalo wings and meatball sandwiches at our Superbowl parties. Our home team is the Philadelphia Eagles, and in addition to cheesesteaks being a Philadelphia favorite, they also sell a local specialty at the games called "Crab Fries".....essentially crinkle cut fries topped with crab seasoning and served with a side of while melted cheddar cheese. It's cold up here too, and raining like crazy. Best of luck to Jessa and Ben today, hopefully they didn't get rain at their wedding. I really hope Jessa is happy and remains so in her marriage...after all, it's Jim Bob who picked her husband for her.
  25. In fact, Jessa just said in an interview that she wants to have 19 kids herself, but probably won't give birth to "every one of them"..she says that they plan to adopt lots of kids. Figure Jessa will be the one to outdo her mom and dad someday. I'm sorry, but I find the thought of this absolutely hilarious...Jim Bob and Michelle getting pushed to the side for Jessa and Ben, 21 Kids and Counting.
