  1. Most.Exciting.Derby.Finish.EVAH! I never passed up a chance for a Hot Brown in L'ville or a meal at Lynn's Paradise Cafe (RIP, sadly).
  2. Well, I was trying to figure out how to fit James (Tiberius) Kirk into an answer. Ross Poldark! Looking forward to a Danielle Viewing Party Celebration recap from @853fisher. I imagine the crowd WENT WILD at the last FJ reveal. Congrats to your friend!
  3. Sorry I picked this episode to watch after skipping this show several weeks in a row. Groundhog Day indeed, and starring my least favorite character of all times. (Well, the dead/almost dead/partly dead Lizzie not withstanding.) I continually wonder why gunmen wearing tactical vests and helmets can be so easily killed, not just on this show but other shows as well. Why bother with the kevlar except it looks good when the wearer is being shot. And thanks a lot for the tease that Mr. Kaplan is/might be alive. She's the only reason I tuned in this week. Talk about a bait and switch.
  4. WEEK 34 • May 2, 2022 — NO asterisk * 165. Theater. In November 1864 John Wilkes Booth & his brothers were fittingly part of a performance of this Shakespeare play. 166. National Anthems. “Terre de nos aïeux” follows the title in the French version of this anthem. 167. The Civil War. A Union soldiers’ song said Gen. McClellan, who let a Confederate army escape after this battle, “was too slow to beat ’em.” 168. 20th Century Cinema. A black & white newsreel in this film begins: “In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure dome decree.” 169. USA. These 2 mayors gave their names to a facility built on the site of an old racetrack owned by Coca-Cola magnate Asa Candler.
  5. Attention all Ken fans: Enjoy today's game as you won't see him next week.
  6. So Jenny, the newest hire, is now in charge of that entire large department of deputies. I'll bet the ones there the longest are not happy about being passed over for promotion. But maybe that's why Jenny is driving Walt Longmire's Bronco.
  7. The highlight of Thursday's episode for me was Ken suggesting Mattea got Rick Rolled.
  8. Was glad this was back to brighten my Tuesday nights. I don't know this Chaser but I was rooting for him even though I liked the three players. And Buzzy's socks ROCKED!
  9. So glad this is back. I agree with everyone that the Muppets added nothing, but at least they were just at breaks, thank goodness. I also wondered about the Polecano zip line stopping so far from the the pole, no way could anyone make it. I did like all the new holes and all the players this time. I was rooting for the Native guy but was okay with Jaimie winning. Great way to lighten up a Tuesday night for me.
  10. She thanks you @MINDTHINKR. She got a laugh that they showed a Bedlington, which almost no one has even heard of much less know it's a terrier. And again, it was in a pet clip. If anyone remembers sometime back, a Miniature Pinscher video was shown and the breed name for a "Min Pin" was a TS. The video was of a dog owned by a friend of @saber5055's, and THAT time it was a real and lovely show dog. And still a TS! I got FJ and didn't even notice the rhyme until reading about it here! Duh!
  11. Well, good luck with that since it's been renewed for another season of trying to find Who Killed Elizabeth Keene.
  12. I really got a laugh out of none of the players knowing who Hannah Brown is.
  13. It's been one month since a week with no asterisk! WEEK 33 • Apr. 25, 2022 — NO asterisk * 160. Names in American History. Capable of freighting about 180 tons of cargo, in 1624 it was in disrepair & appraised at a total value of 128 pounds. 161. African Surnames. Adetokunbo, “the crown has returned from overseas”, is fitting for the Adetokunbo family who left Nigeria for this country in 1991. 162. Poets. In 1939 he was buried near his last residence in France, but his body arrived in Galway en route to final burial on Sept. 17, 1948. 63. Books of the 1970s. Aptly, members of a Black family in this novel have Biblical names: Pilate, Hagar & the title one, an ancestor of the protagonist. 164. Musical Inspirations. “Tuileries” & “The Great Gate of Kiev” were 2 of the artworks that inspired this classical work completed in 1874.
  14. In my area it has always aired at 4:30 p.m., also a time when people are at work or kids aren't home yet from school. I'd take any survey with a grain of salt that says what ages watch this show. Make that a whole salt shaker. While I spent all my time trying to parse that into one of my favorite quotes, "Half a loaf is better than no rest at all."
  15. Mattea should have called Henry Standing Bear at The Red Pony.
  16. I guess @Browncoat and I (and my "friend") are the only ones who know and can recognize the very recognizable Friesian horse. And B+W dairy cattle are Holsteins in North America, while the term Friesians is often used in the UK and Ireland. And since Jeopardy and this site are in North America and not UK or Ireland ... Holsteins they are.
  17. Save some time and go to www.thejeopardyfan.com after 12:30 p.m. central time. Andy posts that day's results plus the FJ clue/answer as well as other interesting tidbits about that day's game. You'll be caught up in no time.
  18. Well, she took a dive off a bridge, never to be seen again. So, the answer is yes, no, maybe, or she's kinda sorta part way almost dead. Or not dead. If Mr. Kaplan comes back, I'm back watching this show again.
  19. I still have the biggest crush on Odo.
  20. Same here. Even Alex, rest his soul, irritated me during interviews, always turning them to himself or making fun of the player, like going "Ooooh ..." and stepping backward like the player was diseased if he or she had five cats or something "outrageous" like that. I now enjoy the interviews whereas they used to be my time to do something else during.
  21. I always order the O-Ring Shorty at Red Robin, but yours look MUCH more delicious. WEEK 32 • Apr. 18, 2022 — ONE asterisk * 155. World Literature. Befitting the title, Antoine Gallard, the first Western translator of this collection, worked on it only “after dinner.” * 156. Countries of Africa. Old maps depicting what’s now this 125,000-square-mile country labeled the area with the French word for “teeth.” * 157. On the Internet. This website launched in 2015 with 3 offerings, from James Patterson, Dustin Hoffman & Serena Williams. 158. Films of the 1950s. The title character of this film has the same name as the Roman goddess of the dawn. 159. Historic Names. DNA from 2 living descendants of Anne of York was used to identify the remains of this man.
  22. Whereas I found his cringe-inducing little stand-up routine the highlight/best part of yesterday's episode. Obviously, YMMV, and it does.
