  1. And so they get YET ANOTHER SEASON!
  2. And a big AMEN to that. This was worth reposting, that's such a nail-on-the-head hitter for me. BTW, Ryan Seacrest interviewed MB on his radio show this a.m. She's written a movie that's gone into production, starring Dustin Hoffman, who had no idea who MB is. LOL! Anyway, hoping this keeps her away from other "jobs." According to TJF, Ken is hosting for at least the next two weeks, so that's a tv reprieve for me. (And some others. You know who you are!)
  3. My favorite parts of this episode were Lizzo cracking up. I thought she was so funny and made the sketches more fun for me. This is a comedy show after all, even if some weeks it doesn't seem like it. This week, it did. I also laughed when she introduced herself. I also know someone who was a massive Beanie Baby collector back when, he would even make/sell Beanie clothing. Dude was raking in the big bucks for a while. So I got a kick out of that sketch.
  4. Her responding to every comment keeps her in the news, which is exactly what she's going for. Example: All the posts here about her that are here only because of her online rants and disclaimers. ... would make me (and someone else I know) very happy.
  5. I guess that means this site gives all thumbs up for @Mindthinkr's sausage dinner. I agree!
  6. Where did that sausage photo come from? Hilarious! And has nothing to do with the FJ Contest!
  7. No offense taken by me. Your husband makes me laugh too. And I love absolutely everything about Mattea, even her TBHs, and I hope she stays to play for a long time. Although now she is making the ToC extremely difficult. If she plays Matt and Amy ... yikes. I'd want a three-way tie for champion. The interviews are now my favorite part of this show. Ken's comments make me enjoy this show more than ever before.
  8. WEEK 31 • Apr. 11, 2022 — ONE asterisk * 151. Words of the Year. Oxford’s Word of the Year for 2021 was this 3-letter one, short for a word that goes back to the Latin for “cow.” 152. Geographic Terms. The 1964 article that gave this term its current use noted the “menace that haunts the Atlantic off our southeastern coast.” 153. History. Intimately familiar with World War I, Churchill considered this war from some 150 years before the “first World War.” * 154. Women in British History. The orphaned future Queen Elizabeth I was devoted to this stepmother who died 2 days before Elizabeth’s 15th birthday. * 155. Academy Award Winners. In 2019 he won his first competitive Oscar, 36 years after a Student Academy Award for a film about a Brooklyn barbershop.
  9. LOL, I was watching for her "tiny baby hands" tonight, thanks @30 Helens. Now I want to see a battle to the end between Mattea's Tiny Baby Hands and Seinfeld's Girlfriend With Man Hands.
  10. For those who can't click or just want to know easily, here are Lilly's additional comments about Mayim and the blazer. I find it EXTREMELY interesting, the suggestion that Mayim did this when Ken took over hosting. Keeps her "relevant." Lilly has never posted anything negative EVER about anything anyone wears on the show. In fact, she is just the opposite, refreshingly fun, upbeat and positive. I'm on Team Lilly.
  11. Okay, now today I will be watching for flapping tiny baby hands!
  12. I wondered about that, his reaction was ... strange. As a long-time Gervais fan, I've known for years he's atheist. It's never affected me in any way, pro or con, about how I feel about him. I guess I found it strange Ken didn't know something that's been very public for years. Ken is suppose to know EVERYTHING! As was I. I've never heard of that virus and I've been giving rabies shots to dogs for ... well, many years. We just call it ... rabies. Have a fun and safe trip @Clanstarling. You will be missed, but surely you can catch some free wifi somewhere along your travels? Send us a postcard! Was betting @MrAtoz also easily got that Indiana TS.
  13. While I was trying to figure out how Seinfeld fit as an answer. I am totally loving Mattea, love everything about her. It's refreshing to see someone (who appears to be) so young be so smart, all while being herself, just as Amy was being herself. I hope she continues to rock. Plus Ken is cracking me up every episode, he has such off-the-cuff wit. He's just a natural at that job. I also appreciate Mattea knowing what a Nova Scotia Duck Toller is. Raise your hands, readers, if you know .... yeah, that's what I thought. She kept that from being a TS. I was grossly disappointed when my friend in Lisbon had never heard of a Portuguese Podengo. So Mattea got an extra gold star for knowing a Toller.
  14. If anyone wants to know about anything anyone wears or has worn on Jeopardy, you need to check out Lilly on Twitter. Her entire thread is about outfits worn on the show (and she has addressed the Mayim-blazer thing). She keeps track of who wears what when. She's very entertaining and always positive, it's just fun when she notes Ken wore the same tie last Tuesday that he wore once five months ago. She even comments on clothing worn by contestants, also fun and always positive. @OneEclecticMom
  15. No, and I was looking for it. SO nice having Ken back, he's so calming. I almost missed the show today, I've gotten used to not watching for two weeks. So it was nice to have me back too. Ha ha!
  16. The vintage episode didn't air tonight in my market. Not sure if I'm glad or sad!
  17. Too late.
  18. He's been doing Kennections on Mental Floss for at least a decade, but just started this new format which IMO isn't very good. The old format, you would type in your answer after each question and it would turn green and stay if you were correct. So far, this new version isn't user friendly. Yet. Not sure if the old quizzes are still on Mental Floss. I've subscribed for a few years so get the link sent to me every weekend.
  19. While I got Oliver Twist right away, the Metropolis TS had me yelling it at the tv. Metropolis, Illinois ... a big YES to that. Drive north from the biggest Superman statue and see the world's biggest catsup bottle. Looking forward to rooting for Mattea with Ken as host.
  20. WEEK 30 • Apr. 4, 2022 — ONE asterisk * 146. Current Television. Fittingly, the last name of the family at the center of this drama is from French for “king.” 147. Classic Games. Reuben Klamer, who passed away in 2021 at age 99, developed this game relatable to “literally everyone on Earth.” 148. Small Countries. French, Italian & Swiss nationals make up about half of its population of 38,000. * 149. Inventions. Patented in 1955, it did not go over well in the high-end fashion world but the then-new aerospace industry found it very useful. * 150. 19th Century Literature. The Strand Union Workhouse, whose rules prohibited second helpings of food, inspired a setting in this 1838 novel.
  21. Even though it's been gone since 1990, for 80 years and still in my mind, the White Sox play at Cominsky Park. Always was, always will be ... for me anyway.
  22. Good news for viewers (me): Ken is back Monday, rhymes with Ken is back YEAY HEY!
  23. Never read the book(s) but easily knew Pierce-Arrow, being a fan of old automobiles. It's one of my niche fields of knowledge, so yeay me. Besides, wasn't a photo of the radiator cap (another TS I knew) shown of the archer? I wasn't paying that much attention so I could ignore/flip channels quickly.
  24. This episode reminded me why I stopped watching this show for some years. The only good part IMO was Tommy Lee, and I've never been a fan. So for him to be the high point of the hour sort of says something.
  25. I've had this photo since October 2017. I consider it old news.
