  1. Rick was deep, deep into mental illness. Way beyond hoarder mental illness. A three-day hoarder intervention with a bunch of hand-holding by The Zaz was not going to cut it. They needed to do what they did at the end- get his friend Rosie to take him away for the duration, clear out as much as possible to assess the home damage, get the place condemned and then get Rick placed into a facility that can deal with his illness. There is no way utilities will be turned on to the place and he will continue to use candles and smoke in that tinderbox. Plus the whole pee bucket situation (Matt!) dumped outside on a regular basis means the place is a haz mat site. It's really strange that The Zaz and Cory just kind of washed their hands of the situation.
  2. Well, Kody has said he spends a lot of time at the house with the mom and newborn, in order to "bond". Maybe Janelle is thinking "Yay! I'll have at least 9 months or so of free time without that floppy haired bastard slumping in one of my reclining chairs, computer surfing and ignoring MY children!"
  3. That same thought dawned on me about half way through too. The opening sequence with Rebecca painted as a tiger is pretty cool, and several of the artists did try to paint their canvases as the objects (bishop or queen) or the canvas was interactive, but I agree, it isn't as interesting when the canvas is just a bad piece of artwork with a green wig. I also don't want to see some tool prancing around, proclaiming he is the baddist bad ass that ever bad-assed. We get enough of that on Ink Master. I'll keep half-watching to see the occasional cool piece of artwork.
  4. Did I hear right? Did Monte hire Dirty to replace Freddie? I guess since Elliot kicked Dirty off the Saga, he was more than willing to hire on another boat. That motel room that Dirty and Freddie were in had a bunch of large pelican cases in it. I wonder if it was a Disco production motel room, since those are the type of waterproof cases they would carry their gear in. Maybe that is why Freddie was so nonchalant about not going back to the boat. Wild Bill, you were not fooling the CG with the heater bit. They have probably had that routine done to them a thousand times. So Josh drove the boat one night, in calm weather. Yay. I was laughing my ass off at Casey speeding the boat up to normal driving speed and watching Josh freak out.
  5. I was a little surprised the name of this episode was "Perfect" because all three of these folks were the opposite of perfect, even Sofie. Although she was not as much of a trainwreck as the other two, she couldn't even move her face due to too much Botox. She was also veering off into the Kardashian over-plumb look. Not only am I stunned at what people will do to their bodies (and think it looks beautiful), I am stunned there are doctors who will do the procedures and also think the results looks fabu.
  6. I wonder what's going to happen to all those silicone implants in 20 years. It's one thing to have two breast implants that have to be replaced every ten years; what is Justin going to do with all those multiple arm, chest, back and future ab and leg implants? The body will start to reject them or develop scar tissue at some time, I would think. It must hurt to move and stretch with those slabs of silicone in his otherwise scrawny body. What a waste of money. Carrot-A-Tour Chick drove me nuts with her constant referral to the picture. The tanning had nothing to do with it either.
  7. I would bet that all the Disco contracts have some sort of clause that allow Disco to cancel due to a variety of reasons- criminal entanglements, morality issues, etc. June was sleeping with and parading around with her child's convicted rapist. TLC was under no obligation to film that and air the shows, and no judge would agree the lawsuit should go forward. The attorney was just getting free media time. The Duggar situation hit just as the Disco attorneys were heading out for the Memorial weekend. Once they get back I think we will see the same full cancellation of the Duggar Shitshow and June will simmer down.
  8. Looks like June found an attorney who is in it to make some money off of her, because this is a bogus lawsuit from the word go: http://www.tmz.com/2015/05/24/mama-june-threatens-to-sue-tlc-bring-back-honey-boo-boo/
  9. "My molester ain't as bad as their molester! Give me some money!" Jeezus H.
  10. If he was the type to fish no matter what, then I agree. But if he wanted to be on the boat because of the cameras (a la Josh), regardless of his addiction, then it was a case of cameras + drugs + ego = disaster. I still feel bad for his father in all of this. Poor man.
  11. I wish we would have seen Mutiny on the Saga. Dad, the Relief Captain, Dirty and the Disco Producer banding together to tie Elliot to his bed with his pipe in hand and stash close by, then let the crew run the boat the way it needed to be run. Or just put him on the chase boat. Safety first, crab second. Let Elliot go bat shit crazy. If he got too out of hand, call the CG and let them fly out and arrest him. Disco had a HUGE anvil over his head. The only reason that egotistical asswipe got out of the captain's chair at all was because Disco threatened to call law enforcement on him. Nothing else would have budged him. Like I said upstream, I'm just surprised the other captain allowed Elliot to endanger the others with Wade throwing hook and running the hydros. There was no reason for that. Hopefully it was just for a few pots (and Elliot flexing for the camera) and Dirty took over again once Elliot retreated to his heroin haze.
  12. Then why didn't he say that to Keith during their discussion? Why did he strut around his galley bad-mouthing Keith to his crew? Oh, that's right, he had to perform for the cameras. Rock star is right. I wonder who the other two people are who bought into the CM. I'm betting they are associated with Trident in some way. When Elliot snapped at the relief captain to "do his job" (when Elliot was directing poor Wade all over the deck from job to job), I expected the captain (spacing on his name) to tell Elliot he WAS doing his job, which was to tell the crew what to do, including Wade. I really wished the captain had overruled Elliot. What was Elliot going to do, try to take over the boat at that point? I think it was clear the Disco crew was not allowing that to happen. I think Derrick called the police on Jake, where as Disco did not call the police on Elliot. Maybe they didn't want to risk their relationships with the captains by turning in one of them to law enforcement. They did do enough damage to his career by airing his behavior, so they figure that is good enough. I guess Elliot's girlfriend from last season wised up and left. And of course he heads right back to Val (despite the tweet mentioned above about a 20 year old girlfriend). I wonder how Val feels about her name constantly being mentioned by this whacko. She should have included something in the paperwork about a no-mention on national TV.
  13. Well, apparently it was a raging success, according to TMZ. And I apologize for being the bearer of the images in the link. http://www.tmz.com/2015/05/17/mama-june-strip-club-stripper-pole-video-photo-appearance/ It's a double-dipping-day at TMZ for June. She is so happy about her weight loss with the trainer that she is getting lap band surgery: http://www.tmz.com/2015/05/17/mama-june-going-under-the-knife-for-lap-band-surgery/
  14. Interesting article in Salon about just how deadly (or not) the Bering Sea crab fishing is now, and a couple tid-bits about the show: http://www.salon.com/2015/05/15/deadliest_catch_not_even_in_the_top_three/
  15. I don't know how Elliot is going to be able to keep insurance on the boat after tonight's episode. Even though the first mate took over the driving duties, it was obvious he was unfamiliar with the wheelhouse and basic operations of the boat when he couldn't even turn on the deck lights. Then watching Elliot alternated between dozing off and leaping around, leaning over the side and mumbling his way through all his convos with the cameramen (except the very clear threat to keep the cabin discussion off TV)- I don't know how he is going to continue to captain after all that. He still managed to hold onto that stupid hooka thingy while working on deck in a typhoon. Freddie is a maniac.
  16. I'm glad Jake has cleaned up too, but this show is airing 8 months after he cleaned up. Disco has had plenty of time to add additional interviews of Josh saying that Jake has completed rehab and he can't wait for him to rejoin him on the CM. They don't need to continue airing the interview of Jon Hillstrand begging Jake to clean up. It is just strange that Disco is continuing to throw him under the drug bus instead of completing the redemption arc, like they are trying to do for Josh, especially now that we are hearing the full story of abuse and neglect at the hands of Phil and his ex-wife. I had not seen the Time Bandit story before, so that was a nice little catch-up hour for me.
  17. Yeah, just listing his credentials. He only spends a week (actually less, with the filming schedule the way it is) at each site and the budget is limited and paid for by the production company, so we will never see any big-name hotels getting a make-over. Anthony has also made it clear he wants to help out the mom-and-pop places (or places deserving of help) that we see on the show, places that may not have the money or expertise to come back from the brink.
  18. That room was Elliot's cabin on the boat. That is why the camera was there filming him. The sticker is partially torn off, it is the number that is on his clothing and hat (I assume some sort of advertising for a company). Scott called the dealer in town and let him know he was coming (and told him not to talk because Scott would be miked). Scott went to Elliot's cabin and got money. Then there was the scene with Elliot leaving the boat, then we see Scott asleep in the galley. Elliot was then late back to the boat. This is where the choppy editing makes the whole situation confusing. Did Scott buy the drugs and hand them off to Elliot while onshore? Did they both buy drugs? I get the feeling Elliot had Scott do the deal so that he could keep his little captain hands clean.
  19. He preposition The Plaza Hotel in the NYC hotel scene while he was the Director of Front Office Operations there, then he was in charge of the $15 million restoration of the Algonquin Hotel in NYC. He then went on to manage the Nickelodeon Hotel operation and started his hotel management company from there. He was given the Hotel Impossible gig based on his 20-years experience in the field; there aren't specific episodes on those restorations and management contracts.
  20. I'm retired LE and as I was watching the whole Saga saga, I saw it as a drug deal going down with Scott and Elliot. No doubt in my mind. When they got the injured crew member back into the galley, the first thing Elliot said to the camera was "I am stressed from some personal issues, I need to take a break myself" and walked off. In other words, he needed to take a hit of what ever drug of choice he had to calm down, rather than continue taking care of his injured crew. Why did Elliot bring the pot onto the loader in the first place? As they were bringing it in, I thought to myself it would be easier for the new guy to just go over the side to the pot rather than risk a sliding launch. The seas were fairly calm at that point. I think it shows Elliot wasn't thinking correctly. I also agree with other posters that sending Jake and Nick was a warning shot from Disco to Elliot and crew that others know what is going on, and it is all on film and they have no problem showing it. It will be interesting to see if there is any fall out from last nights episode.
  21. It's one thing to wake up every morning and reassure yourself that everything is going to be OK and life will work out; it's another thing to post some insipid saying on social media every three hours. Are people supposed to respond to them? Do they really make her feel better? She must spend hours searching online for them.
  22. For a while now, Meri's twitter feed has been non-stop re-tweets of sappy, cloud-infused inspirational sayings. Rarely does she tweet something original and actually about her life. It's really kind of sad to read. Either she is falling apart at the seams or there is a carefully crafted storyline going on for the next season. As is mentioned in the article linked above, Kody and the other wives gushed about her 25th wedding anniversary to Kody; not a word about it from her.
  23. Does she really have that many fans who want to "meet and greet" her? Especially at a strip club? More importantly, will she wear stripper heels despite the funky toe? I don't understand that face thingy she's doing in the picture. I guess that is a stripper move, right?
  24. Oh god please make her stop..... http://www.tmz.com/2015/05/03/mama-june-strip-club-salary-florida-crazy-horse-meet-fans/
