Shameless Fame Whores: Sister Wives in the Media
Galloway Cave replied to purpleflowers's topic in Sister Wives
I can't get the stupid video to load, but the text says that Meri invites both Kody and Robyn over to surprise them with the information that she is divorcing Kody. Why would she tell BOTH Kody and Robyn such an intimate piece of information if all their marriages are separate, individual marriages, as they keep saying over and over? That is something she discuss with Kody first, then family second. Goes to show this was a Robyn-driven situation from the get-go. And all filmed WAY after the fact too. -
I'm so sorry. But everyone else is making me click on those links, so I'm sharing the ick. Or ickie, as Pauline would say.
-
Originally she was the sole owner but then later put Meri and Kody on the deed as co-owners. Not so smart, then.
-
Janelle's inheritance paid for part of the plyg house and she had a State job that paid around $66,000 a year. She also had a side business selling pantry inserts/containers (a big thing with Mormons). So the Kody's sales job wasn't the only income just prior to TLC. Now in previous years (the early Montana, Yoming and Utah years) things were different, and they have always relied on bankruptcy and welfare to supplement their income. Christine was on welfare for the first 10 months they were filming the show.

Hits but no sells! -
"Pauline is great in bed!" WTF????? How can a person who is basically a beached whale be great at sex?
-
The other day at the grocery store I was in line behind a plyg lady with one of the most swoopiest braids I have ever seen. I was trying not to be too obvious with my staring but I was really trying to figure out the architecture of the whole thing. It was an amazing sight.

Take a gander at the AUB tags. Inbreeding, abuse, incest, child brides, it's all there. Kody and Ko. are so full of shit when they try to whitewash their background. Reading that blog has been very educational. The owner is ex-FLDS. She does an excellent job at documenting both current and historic polygamy issues, and her family wreaths are unbelievable. I don't know how she does it. I am a little partial to the MormonHair reposts. Love those swoopy-braids!

All I have heard is Rose Marie Cawley did get married (her last name changed on her FB page) but not sure which person she married (info from The Principle tumblr). Don't know what number wife she is either. Apparently the containers are still in Michael Cawley's backyard according to Google Maps. One of the wine-drinking young wives (blanking on their names at the moment) had a baby. The show won't be coming back, apparently they only wanted to do one season to show what polygamy was really about, compared to Kody's World, and they feel they accomplished that. If you want more information you can visit http://politicsrusprinciple.tumblr.com/ and search Centennial Park in the tags list.

Dammit, will you all stop making me look at that site!!!! (said the lemming as she jumped off the cliff....) And that music. Ick. I really want Annie to do well because she seems like a nice woman and she escaped that horrible life and all. But da-yum. Those things aren't very pretty. Then I tried to go to the second page and got the 522 error. I see nothing has changed. -
Oh my god, that article. Well that answers my question about marriage. But it sounds like he wasn't Dillon's father. Neither one of them have a filter too because damn. What exactly constitutes a "nice sheet"? Even the better options at fast food places are bad options. They are full of sodium and hidden fat. Diet soda is pure chemicals. I don't know what is written in their diet instructions but it needs to be written in huge red font NO FAST FOOD PERIOD. Only food prepared at home and high protein/no carbs. I gave up fast food years ago and occasionally now will get a Subway sandwich when traveling. Roast beef with veggies and oil/vinegar. I always get a migraine and lower GI cramps. There is no winning with that stuff.
-
Dillon is Liam in another 12 years. Blank stare, blank life and forever clutching a McDonald's bag and a coke. I never did hear if Pauline had ever been married. Penny and Pauline both said the same things about their "journey", almost word for word.

Pauline is 50 years old and 674 pounds.

The Great Wife Swap of 2014: The Dark Wife Rises

Someone at CJ's looked it up and they were both still on the Clark County records information as co-owners. -
The divorce was in September and they filmed the anthropologists staying with her in November, so she is still living there.
-
If the other two shows were supposed to be about Janelle and Christine, the filming schedule still doesn't make sense. It just seems weird that TLC would film during the summer, take off for several months, then come back and start filming again for a little podunk show like Sister Wives. They hired the anthro-actors, why not just have them do their scripted 4 days in September rather than November? I think they had regular, boring shows for the four slots- the two that have been filled by Meri and Robyn, plus the two that are on March 1. When they caught wind of the divorce and marriage, they had to scramble and figure out how to salvage the season with the news. First was PR- polish the turds that are Meri and Robyn with their own eppies, then stretch out the revel in two episodes. Reroute the original two episode finale as filler.
-
I do. I made a comment about that in the episode thread. I think that TLC may not have found out about the divorce and marriage until late, maybe until sometime in January. The shows that have aired were filmed during the summer then, as we have just proven in the episode thread, in November. The anthro episodes were dull and had no mention of divorce or impending marriage. What happened to anything filmed in between August and November? I think TLC found out about the d/m, scrambled to catch up by getting rid of two planned shows that were filmed during the fall, airing the anthro shows (which may have been the planned final episodes), cobbled together the Behind the Scenes shows and patched together two new shows on the divorce and marriage.
-
Big Hero 6 opened in the US on November 7, 2014. So proof there that they were filming in November.
-
So I wonder when TLC found out about the divorce and marriage? If they were filming two scripted anthropology episodes in late November, they must not have known what the Browns were up to, because the real life script is definitely more interesting than the crap we just watched. The Meri and Robyn Behind the Scenes episodes are also odd episodes for a regular season. If they were planned shows, it would have made more sense to make each episode about two wives instead of one. Were these last minute substitution shows, added as redemption shows for Meri and Robyn after TLC found out about the divorce/marriage? If TLC didn't know about the d/m, what were the last few shows supposed to be about? Looks like they have been scrambling the last few weeks filming additional scenes. Now I'll have to be on the look-out for seasonal tells in the last two eppies.
-
No. They have always done that. Revising history again. Wishful thinking. Scripted TV. Wanted to add I loved Meri and Robyn's synchronized Eye Goober Swipe and Stare during one of the couch sessions. It was a wonderful moment. Perfectly timed and coordinated. My dream, before this ship completely sinks, is for all four of the wives to complete a synchronized quadruple Swipe and Stare.

The Great Wife Swap of 2014: The Dark Wife Rises

When they all were living in the rentals, he used Robyn's house address as his address. I wonder if he did the same in the new houses, despite his name being on Meri's mortgage? -
[Running to catch up with everyone, having just watched the episodes] Well done, everyone who called the last 5-minute cut away with Meri. And I agree with the editing call someone upstream made; first Meri makes it sound like she has been thinking about this life-altering decision for five years and it is a negative thing, then suddenly another scene is suggesting it is "no big deal". What evs. This was not a family decision, that was made very clear just by the preview. So what else is a lie? For a bit there, it looked like the anthro-actors where asking the right questions, ones we had often tossed around here, at CJ's and on TWoP. Questions we had wanted Tameron to ask. We even heard answers that were slightly more honest and open than what we have heard, especially in the non-couch scenes. Then the anthro-actors BLEW it with the obvious TLC-written script they recited to that jackass of a professor (sitting there, half swiveling in his chair, spouting off about Short Creek, I just wanted to smack him). Anthro-actor Dude was the worst. Can't remember his exact words but he got pretty insulting about people who criticize the Browns. We heard their questions, we heard the Brown's answers and more importantly, we have watched the show for five years. Just because these two say they are OK doesn't mean they are. And they still didn't answer the prof's questions about the Love Wife and Sex Wife. Robyn, Kody wears Sol like a piece of living clothing. Shut up. The observation was not just from a "snap shot" view of the family. God I hope I can make it through two more episodes.

The State of Utah did open an investigation into the Browns after they went on TV, just to see if there were any welfare or abuse violations, but the State closed its case in December 2010 (I think, or was it 2011?) and publicly announced they would not be prosecuting the Browns for anything. Three weeks later the Browns filmed the Flight From Utah, knowing damn well that they were in no way going to be arrested for anything and the case was closed. The sirens they were hearing as they loaded up? There is a fire station just down the street from their Lehi house. -

The AUB initially put the kibosh on Kody marrying Robyn because of the family finances. But when he presented them with the TV show and potential income, they agreed. But, the family had to agree not to discuss the AUB by name or practices. Which was really weird; the Browns had long been activists by that point, especially Christine, and their name was all kinds of tangled up with that church. -

I think there was some family justification of the underage part by saying that Kody and Meri were in their early twenties when they dated the girl, so the age difference wasn't that huge and it wasn't that big a deal. Kind of like the divorce now....
