  1. I really hope so too. I would hate for anyone to get married unless they really wanted too. But I can't shake the feeling that Jessa doesn't look or act like she's in love or even likes Ben half the time. It always felt pre-arranged, something to do for the ratings and with the Bates marrying off left and right and getting a lot of attention from it. JimBob felt pressured, competitive and people wondering why the Duggars weren't doing the same thing. It feels like he came up with Ben in response to all of that and he's a perfect choice for JimBob. He's young and seems very willing to do what ever JimBob wants to get Jessa.
  2. Count me too. I try but I just don't see it. They just seem so oddly matched to me and not in love. I've tried to see it from the beginning but half of the time Jessa acts like she doesn't even like him. I hope I'm wrong.
  3. I would have liked to know her real name too. And how much of her story in the King George Job was true. Sophie and her "aunt" really seemed to know each other and the person who apparently drank himself to death.
  4. For the girls I think its a tie between Jordyn and Jana. Poor Jordyn was tossed aside when Josie was born and her parents' haven't cared about her since. She has to share her birthday, there's footage of baby Jordyn crawling down the stairs and no one is paying any attention. She could have seriously been hurt then. Or her following Michelle around wanting for something only for Michelle to tell her to go find Jana. Jana basically lost her childhood when Michelle had her breakdown and decided instead of stop having more children she would force her children to raise them since then. The poor girl was far too young when she had to start raising her brothers and sisters. She does everything while her parents' praise Jessa or Jill and do absolutely nothing to raise their children, when she dares to admit to being unhappy she gets sent to be reprogrammed. The poor girl blames herself for her feeling bad when she has every right to be upset at having to give up her childhood because her parents' refused to stop having children when they realized Michelle couldn't handle it and make Jana do it instead. The girl never gets a break when she goes to DC to visit her brother what is it for? To babysit. She had to go along with Jill for the midwife thing because Jill couldn't go alone when clearly Jana didn't want to go.
  5. Honestly, my first reaction was WTF? Carrie, Miranda and Samantha didn't want to go to the baby shower, then don't go. Instead they decide to go even though they still don't want to go then seemed unable to understand that they were suppose to bring gifts and what those gifts were suppose to be. Condoms, booze, and Carrie completely forgetting to get a gift coupled with the disdain for the baby shower, again why are you going? I felt a little for Charlotte because I'm been in her shoes wondering when it'll be my turn to be a mom, but didn't understand why she was so upset at her friend for 'stealing' her baby name. Granted, I've seen people in real life doing the same thing and never understood the big deal. Or why that prevents someone from using the name on their own child.
  6. This thinking sadly isn't to far off in the real world at least in mine. I've lost count how many people who marry in their twenties and can't figure out why people reach their thirties still single.
  7. I've wondered this too especially since the Bates have managed to branch out a little into interests and do things. Don't they want to do stuff? Don't they get bored doing nothing all day long every single day? They must see the Bates and the things they get to do and want to do things too right? Or wondering how the Bates get their parents to let them do things. Maybe their making the wrong approach to their parents. Maybe the better one would be their ratings would probably go up more if they actually were allowed to do stuff. To have jobs and/or follow their interests. Because honestly watching all those boys in the last season doing nothing and trashing a car? Not interesting or even funny. Seeing them following their interests, getting jobs, starting businesses, doing something would be more interesting. Like didn't John David go to the Philippines with a couple of the Bates to help out? Is he interested in helping out after disasters? What are the other boys interested in doing?
  8. From the Reunion Job when the Iranians break through the door and see Eliot. "The health inspector?" one of them asks confused. Eliot just smiles and shrugs. "I'm going to have to dock you again."
  9. I think your both right. As Bella said he was at first the next Donald Trump. He was also interesting that episode when Carrie was researching women who have sex like men and he said she wasn't like that and neither was he. I also liked his answer when she asked him if he had ever been in love. The second episode he was interesting too when she was researching men who date models his first answer about like being beautiful women was nice but what was even interesting was what he told her at the end. He sounded interesting those episodes he came off as interesting but knowing what he wanted. Then the writers either changed him or forgot what he was suppose to be. Too bad I liked him in the first few episodes he was interesting and I always liked his answers to her. Although he does confuse me early on by his lack of response to Carrie stalking his ex-wife and other crazy behavior why that doesn't scare him off I don't know. But every time he leaves and comes back to New York he becomes harder to figure out. It would have been nice if the writers would have decided what who he was suppose to be.
  10. I was going to post this in Carrie's section but this is more about Big so this is probably the better place. I do wonder on Big though. Was it the big wedding that was throwing him for a loop or was it the marriage thing? And why? Was it because he messed it up twice and was worried about doing that again? I can't decide if its in character for him to be that worried about getting married a third time. Mostly because I've never been able to figure him out. I mean he tells Carrie he never wants to get married again then seven months later marries Natasha. He comes and goes from New York and then buys a vineyard. He also comes and goes from Carrie's life. Does he love her? Is he playing with her? What does he want? At the end of the series he decides he loves her and goes after her. Why? What has made him realize he loves her?
  11. No that doesn't sound too hokey at all. In fact I like what you said about Harry's spirit. I thought it sounded really nice.
  12. I believe this too which puzzles me. She doesn't want it, she doesn't want to talk about it and does nothing to be careful. So what is she clearly hoping to lose the baby? Then why not just go have an abortion and be done with it?
  13. I just saw the updated Bates photo and I really liked it.The colors were really nice. I did like the old one but this picture is so much nicer. I also noticed they updated the family section. I really liked reading the descriptions of each child including updates like Erin working on having a new CD coming out or Michael working as a nanny. Its also such a stark contrast to the Duggars.
  14. Charlotte's second wedding was first going to be really small too but she changed her mind because she really wanted the big wedding again. I think Harry went along with it because it made Charlotte happy. Just like he did that picture for the society page not because he wanted too but because it made Charlotte happy.
  15. I do like Charlotte even though I hated the way she behaved a lot of times especially during her marriage to Trey or her dumping men for their taste it dishes and flowers. That just seem so shallow. But I loved her wardrobe most of the time, she was very optimistic and how naive she could be at time. I liked that she was willing to change part of herself to marry the man she loved. I liked her and Harry together. I liked that she remained Jewish even after they broke up. The look on her face when she was trying to let Harry be himself when he was walking around and sitting around naked.
  16. I remember Carrie planning a wedding of seventy-five and Samantha being her maid of honor and showing Charlotte and Anthony the first dress but I don't know if that was for City Hall or not. Maybe someone else who remembers better can say if that was for City Hall? Do people normally have a wedding of seventy-five and a maid of honor for a City Hall wedding? I've never been to a City Hall wedding before so would that be normal? I never thought Carrie would want to get married at City Hall it seemed out of character to me and the fact her friends weren't there. I know they were outside but both felt un-Carrie like.
  17. I'm going to defend Carrie here a little which is weird for me, but Carrie is over the top and that's the type of wedding she would want. Charlotte and Miranda both got the weddings they truly wanted and perfectly suited to their characters. Why couldn't Carrie have that too? I hated the wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses but that seemed like Carrie's style. But my favorite moment in the movie was when she decided to have her wedding in the library, under the roof that housed all the great works of history, all the great poetry and etc. I thought it was a great idea and perfect for her character.
  18. Me too. It gets resolved with Carrie having to make absolutely no changes or have any effect on her life. She was the one who blew all of her money on shoes and using someone else's engagement ring to keep her apartment. Then gets to carry on with her life same as always. Why can't Carrie have a little growth too and learn to be more responsible with her money? It really could have opened up more interesting stories for Carrie as she tried to get out of her financial problems. Selling her shoes, getting a second job or moving in with one of her friends. Yes, I know she got the job with Vogue but that could have opened up more avenues into Carrie's career. I blame the writers they could have easily had fit it into the episode where Carrie received big money for her book being published and spent big money on Berger. They could easily have had a scene where Carrie's giving some money to Charlotte or making a remark to having paid some of the money back to Charlotte.
  19. This! I can't figure out why Big wasn't freaked out by her stalking his ex-wife? Every other man would have taken it as a sign to run for the hills. That's psycho behavior. I mean if she stalked my ex-wife, what's she going to do next? Kidnap my pet? Cut up my clothes. Carrie, that's the kind of behavior that scares men off. I was more surprised by how many of them said they would rather do a threesome with a friend, I have to ask is that normal? I can see so many ways that can go wrong and you end up losing a friendship. I'd rather go with a stranger.
  20. This is what I thought. It seems like they've only been going out a few times which to me always seems too soon to discuss whether or not your going to be exclusive yet. If they had said something like how long Big and Carrie had been seeing each other that might have helped. Obviously, Carrie was upset to see him with another girl so I don't know why she didn't just ask him the next time they talked?
  21. Don't forget Hudson University. I'm not sure which is higher though the death rate or how many are killers.
  22. It was disgusting. If that's the first thing you think of when adopting a child you shouldn't be doing so. But Charlotte's whole behavior with wanting a baby. I agree she acted like a spoiled brat during the entire marriage. She wanted everything on her timeline. Marriage, kid. Life doesn't work for that way. While I have sympathy for trying to get pregnant and tests constantly coming up negative. Sometimes it does take a long time to get pregnant. I've known many who have tried for a couple years before they were finally able to have a baby. There was nothing wrong with them it just took time. But Charlotte wanted it done on her schedule.
  23. I finally saw this episode tonight I agree it was really nice hearing from the kids, especially the ones that you rarely get focused on. I really liked seeing the baby pictures and one of them kids when they were younger. I liked hearing the parents' describe each child. I loved all the praise Logan got from being so responsible but at the same time has no one ever asked any of the Brown parents why he was the one getting up to make breakfast for his brothers and sisters when he does in fact have a dad and two other moms? The same with Aspyn. If their lifestyle is so great why are the oldest kids shouldering so much responsibility? Its so hard not laugh when Aspyn would say she helped out when her mom was at work. When has Christine ever been at work? I felt a little for the one who believes everyone still sees her as a rebel. I can't imagine how much it would stink to be going through teenage years and being difficult on camera. I also enjoyed the expressions on Janelle's face at some of the stories Meri was telling. Yep those were clearly different versions of what really happened.
  24. I completely agree. If I was Charlotte I probably would have said that last part to her instead of forking over my engagement ring. I hated the way Carrie criticized her for still wearing the ring. And why shouldn't she? Its hers and part of her history. I've know plenty of women who still whole on to their old engagement rings and for some them it did take some time after the break up to take off the ring. But what really makes me angry about this scene is Carrie finally realizes how broke she is and how much she spent on all her shoes. But she expects other people to bail her out of it. She never considered selling her shoes, getting a second job, getting a different apartment or doing any of the things normal people do when they suddenly are in financial problems. She could even had asked to move in with one of her friends until she was able to save up enough money for a new apartment. Nope, none of this. No she instead decides to guilt Charlotte into give up her engagement ring. Heaven forbid Carrie take responsibility for herself to get herself out of the mess. That I would have liked to have seen that instead.
