  1. Die Hard also did it when everyone started whining about having to go. I think Gruber rolled his eyes "Does anyone *else* have to go?"
  2. I watched the day after xmas. I didn't think the 'alien ship' was going to turn out to be an actual alien, so that was cool. It was more thinking and subtle than I expected - learning not to look at it; figuring out how to track it. I do think it was a little long; it took me a little bit to figure out the whole Gordy parallel. But, I had literally nothing to do. And Peacock won't play on my browser, so I always have to watch on the tablet. This time I was where I could cast to a smart tv.
  3. I liked that this episode was grifter v grifter, but the majiq lady was still really small time and not quite the foil they were going for. All of her responses were really just cold reads off just getting a vibe that Sophie was too cool for the room, so maybe there is something about her. "I don't think that's quite the truth". Saying, "well, it is," won't work because the other two ladies were in the room, and Sophie had to rope them in too. That's fair. Notice when it got too hot, the mark dismissed them because she was so compelled to get one over on Sophie though. I do always like when they use the mark against themselves. A halfway decent grifter wouldn't have risked a multi million dollar scheme to gloat. I would have liked if the husband wasn't as much of a buffon and more in on it either. I didn't take stock in the 'daughter' comment at the end because she was just not that good a grifter and if it is the truth, it's such a small time way to mete out that revelation. Also, not everyone all the time has to have a child they abandoned. Sophie selling out/leaving the original crew is good enough for this show. I also agree with that Eliot being 'left out' was deliberate, and based on the end, we're going to see something more about that.
  4. That whole scene was good because Benoit was so ticked about the scheme being so stupid and beneath him.
  5. Bob's Burgers had a good one where Bob and Louise can't go in public places, and she was staying over in the museum so she was really worried. Linda, of course, can go anywhere, and Bob snaps at her.
  6. No, I meant he needed to do some research in order to work out a solution. As opposed to just coming up with it on his own like a revelation. He doesn't have the years of personal experience of Sophie, who would have thought out a solution.
  7. It's easier to cash in on the nostalgia factor with a reboot over creating original material with a spinoff.
  8. The Simpsons killed this trope last year in a great episode. It's a real life trope that's dripped into popular culture. What politician hasn't said something along the lines of 'small town values' over the last 50 billion years? Or 'Main Street' something? If everyone apparently lives in a small town, then are they really that small?
  9. I wouldn't say it's rare, but I also don't think it's that common. 90%, conservatively of my HS are still living in town or close by. That's why there's so many moves about it. No one is resentful, and, if they are, then look at your own choices. Even undergrad, most in my circle are still within the region. People just don't move or push themselves, imo, to do more from my pov. Which leads to - I don't care if they don't really care per se, but the lack of motivation to get something done *properly* is a huge problem. I can see that if you don't care much, then motivation just isn't going to be there. You'd think you'd just want to get your work done instead of me asking every hour or so where you are on the tasks. The malaise can be really systemic throughout an organization.
  10. There was a joke on Curb, where Larry was dating a Doctor. She left him a note after one of their dates, and it was completely illegible. Jeff suggested to take it to a pharmacist to read, and it worked.
  11. I don't mind the low key exits. It takes a lot to voluntarily leave the Doctor. Too many companions got tragic endings and seemingly come off as disposable to the Doctor.
  12. I don't know. With social media, more people probably saw Night of the Doctor even though it was only a web short. I think I heard about it here. Eight was always canon when RTD kicked off this modern era anyway. That was shown in the first series.
  13. I'd say her greed and hubris were the weaknesses. She thought she was the smartest person in the room. And she treated her partner like garbage, which cost her more in the end. I liked that Harry screwed up, but legitimately worried because the cook's life was really in danger being in jail. Harry studying the trunk was exactly what I would have done. It wouldn't have been earned if he figured out a solution on his own. I thought it was a little too easy how Harry has fit into new roles on cons. The young lawyer is also smart enough to knew what's up. I hope they bring her in sometime.
  14. Parker kept trying to steal Breanna's slice of pie, and when they cut back, she was holding away in her left hand while typing with her right. The T-Rex skull was wearing a Santa hat.
  15. I'm just going to say I like my quote. I think I enjoyed the season overall because I watched in real time with everyone else and was able to participate in the discussion. Keep posting.
  16. That was early on. He'd talk to the camera. I think it was dropped by the time of 'I'm so scared'.
  17. Stan Magazine harkened back to the rags of the 90s I used to read. But, the real story is Barry's grandmother's last words - Find my killer. *Everyone* was at the sex party! The Grouch song and verse was fantastic. I'm surprised Wise Men circle jerk got by.
  18. PBS Newshour has a segment and interview with him tonight. It should be on youtube.
  19. That's only a week. Everyone is going to be rusty.
  20. I don't know about that. My friend would always just show up and there was texting.
  21. I don't know if I'll be anywhere near a venue, but if it's close enough for a road trip I might.
  22. I think part of the problem is the faves get all the massive hype, so you tend to get sick of it and not want them to win. It's not Messi's fault, but enough already. Mbappe is going to have to deal with all this for like the next 15 years. It's not their fault they're great, but it would be nice to just to be able to enjoy the moments too. Also exception that proves the rule - Morocco/Portugal. No one wanted Renaldo to win.
