True. I meant more that her crimes aren’t in the supervillain realm and several of the people on her takedown squad are arguably more dangerous than her, committed or order violent crimes themselves, and have near unlimited resources. She’s the perfect villain for a teen group, not so much a group of mobsters and ex mobsters.

I do think AP is doing a great job as Esme but they just made the character an even more unrealistic villian than Peter. I laughed once I realized that they are setting it up to have this whole town rallying to take down a 19 year old. It’s too much. She’s not Helena, Faison or Jerry Jacks. Her big crimes have been blowing up a car and posting revenge porn. I wish they left this story to the teens and cops rather than attempting to make it into this giant umbrella SL because it’s going to look really sad once Sonny, Carly, Ava, etc fail to take Esme down and we know they will since this show loves to drag out their villain arcs.

While I personally don’t feel like Jason is necessary, it’s clear that the show believes that his absence leaves a huge void when it comes to Carly. Why I don’t know because it didn’t appear to be as big an issue during his first exit and it does her character a huge disservice but I digress. I don’t see any major impact his absence has had on any other character, including his other bff Sonny.

I rewatched the scenes and Neil was on that side of the bed but they must have either filmed this flashback recently or had Alexis separately taped and superimposed into the shot because there were no scenes of the 2 sleeping in bed together. Those scenes were really strangely blocked with Alexis on the other side of the room or the foot of the bed for the majority save a brief second where she climbs on top of him and they’re about to kiss. It aired fairly soon after the show came back from covid shutdown so I think they were being more careful.

She was working for Cyrus. I don’t know why Cyrus would have wanted him dead but when Cyrus first found Neil ODed, he called someone to find out if they were behind it or if his drugs were so I guess they had some connection that I missed.

I feel like they are going for the Dead To Me vibe with Alexis/Harmony but it could just be a convoluted exit story.
-
I already thought her feud with Nelle too much due to the age gap. This is why Carly’s children should be fighting their own battles

I’ve long stopped pretending to understand Carly. In her mind, Jason is god and a genius who can solve anything. Meanwhile real post accident Jason could barely string 2 sentences together. Where are they going with the sex tape SL anyway? They’ve already established that everyone with the exception of Nik, and maybe Spencer after today, are convinced it was Esme who was behind it. How was that evidence enough to not only arrest Trina but to keep her in jail overnight? Jordan flat out said the tip was too convenient.

This is more of a general thought but I’m annoyed that not that long ago, most of the canvas was single and they squandered the opportunity to chem test characters across the canvas. Most of them seemed predestined for their new pairing, which in most cases are just as lukewarm or even worse than their previous ones. I also don’t see what’s stopping most of them from getting together so the angst for these slow builds is very plot pointy. Lime what took so long for Sante to hook up or what’s taking so long now for Liz/Finn or Chase/BL other than all of these adults are suddenly acting like middle schoolers and they don’t know what to write for them as an established couple. Pretty much the only exception to this has been Sonny/Nina where I can see at least the obstacles though I wonder why Nina hasn’t just given up and walked away.

Unless a couple splits soon, I think they cast this guy for Britt. She’s the only single woman within 10 years of his age in either direction and they’ve been having her mention dating again.
-
They seem to be really emphasizing that Jordan and the PCPD are playing things by the book now. I wonder why when it’s been anything but before. Dante might as well resign now because he’d have to recuse himself from 95% of the investigations and are they now pretending like they didn’t let Jason be actively involved in numerous investigations? Hell I remember times when he was interrogating suspects and offering plea deals.

https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/gh-casts-new-cop/ There’s a new cop. I saw elsewhere that the actor is on contract which leads me to believe that we’re probably not going to see Chase as a cop anytime soon if ever.

I don’t think it would have ever been a healthy pairing but Harmony is 100% her type. Shady past, history of lying, most of the town dislikes her, etc
-
I don’t think you were the only one who thought that. There was a ton of posts on Twitter about it anytime they had scenes together. I just don’t know if it was intentional because imo Alexis has a lot of scenes that have that undercurrent even when it’s clearly not leading to a romance.

Spoilers and Speculation: Clink Boom and Cheese Fondue
ffwbe replied to BestestAuntEver's topic in General Hospital
FWIW, this spoiler was taken from an SOD article but the part about Harmony causing Neil’s death is speculation and wasn’t mentioned in the article. However, it does make sense because I’m not sure where else they would go with Harmony knowing her way around Alexis’ house. I guess it could mean she’s been stalking Alexis but that would be even more out of the blue than her being behind Neil’s death. -
Joss knows that Cameron was pining for her so she treats him like this because she knows he’ll put up with whatever to be with her. It’s sad but it’s what it is. Before they got together, she stated outright that she was considering dropping his lifelong friendship if he didn’t believe that Jason couldn’t have killed Franco because he was a hero. Notice she never treated her boring bf Oscar like this. I put Willow and Cameron firmly in the doormat categories. Michael and Joss don’t inherently treat others well so they need partners who call them out. @Grinaldi I think seeing the Oscar SL would have made you more annoyed by Joss, not less. Think months of the town talking about brave and strong she was because her bf had cancer and died. Even characters who never or rarely interact with her had to waste screentime exalting her virtues. Though it did give a good scene of Trina reading her for the first time because she skipped out on supporting Cameron who was there for her during the whole Oscar ordeal but she couldn’t return the favor when he was struggling because she was too sad to be a supportive friend.
-
See I think they’ll have her believe Trina but only because they want her to be right. Kind of like how they making it seem now that she was the only person who saw through Esme when no one except Spencer was being snowed by her. She’s still coming off unlikeable and having Trina apologize to her did her no favors. Joss is also dismissing Cam’s feelings. I get that women are more negatively portrayed in scenarios like this but that doesn’t mean Cam wasn’t also hurt by this and she keeps acting like her feelings are the only ones that matter and that he should be fine since the trolls aren’t attacking him but he clearly isn’t. His privacy was also violated and he wasn’t the one continuously poking at Esme like she was which I really thinks she needs to acknowledge.
-
I meant more that Carly thought herself as better than other women and couldn’t be friends with them because she viewed everyone as competition. I always found that gross and the writing made it seem like we were supposed to cheer her on when she constantly tore down other women. Even when she wasn’t with the guy, she wanted them to prioritize her over their current LOs, children, etc. There’s other character who historically had more male friends than female friends on this show and they weren’t portrayed the same way. Alexis is a good example of someone whose always had more male friends but could get along with most women as well.
-
I still believe that someone finally realized that Carly being the ultimate guy’s girl, “I’m not like the other girls and can’t be friends with them because xyz” is gross but instead of acknowledging that and having her grow, they want to ignore it and pretend that she’s been anything but. There was a period where the writing was so male centered that the “favored” women were written as the ultimate misogynists and Carly was at the epicenter of it.
-
I hope they drop that. It’s too similar to the one with TJ and there was no big SL that stemmed from that and it really changed nothing with the relationship dynamics.
-
I’ve never forgotten that Curtis and Valerie broke up after he stole police files from her and his big reason for divorcing Jordan was that she withheld confidential police business from him. Meanwhile almost all of his friends, male and female, are criminals and ex-cons and he’ll bend over backwards to make excuses for them.

Spoilers and Speculation: Clink Boom and Cheese Fondue
ffwbe replied to BestestAuntEver's topic in General Hospital
I’m not sure where Neil falls into this but they’ve been bringing him up a lot so that tracks. I don’t get how all of that fits but I had been feeling like these past couple months were a set up for Alexis to be wrong about Harmony. I just assumed it was about her stealing Willow. There were too many instances of Harmony lying to her and only telling her part of the truth or another story once Alexis pretty much told her she knew she wasn’t being honest. -
Honestly I’ve felt that they were going that route which is why I bit my tongue. I hate them making Alexis look too trusting and naive and all of the naysayers in her life to be right yet again. They love doing that with her.

The inclusion of that particular flashback with the dialogue yesterday was something. Funny how they made Liz look like the instigator when the actual scene was Carly barging into Liz’s house uninvited, ordering Liz’s children out of the room so she could rail at her over the fact that Jason didn’t confide in her that he was Jake’s father. Carly was full on bunny boiler mode that entire year.

Unpopular Opinions: "I hate BLTs from Kelly's!"
ffwbe replied to LeftPhalange's topic in General Hospital
While I thought making Alexis a professor was the better idea, I actually don’t mind her running the newspaper and don’t care if they ever make her a lawyer again. She kind of ran through all of the SLs that involved that career already and was mostly just playing dayplayer lawyer in other people’s SLs, which isn’t inherently interesting to me if I don’t enjoy the other character. Being a lawyer on soaps kinda falls in the same category as doctor, nurse, and cop where it gives them a built in excuse to interact with characters they don’t have a history or relationship with and have them support the other character’s SLs. Which can be nice for seeing a character mix it up but they don’t get POV or anything meaty out of those scenes since they’re easily interchangeable.
