  1. Since all I watched was James and Sharna, I didn't even notice Jenna!
  2. I call BS! Terra's dance better than James? NO WAY Jose! Are they trying to get rid of him? As soon as the judges were through, I quickly watched it again...I had to see that I actually saw what I saw...what an ending, what a dance!!!!!!Carrie Ann cannot go away fast enough for me.
  3. I am no expert on dancing but I do know what I like, and I like James! I cannot take my eyes off of him while he is dancing. To me he is mesmerizing. He is whatever character that Sharna casts him as. I came into this season rooting for Derek(sorry Derek haters) but that quickly went away when Marilu wasn't what I had expected and James appeared and took my breath away. I loved him last week and didn't think he could top that when this week happened. I didn't even know who he was supposed to be but right away, I knew he was evil but such a fun evil. He seems as though he is a great guy and will go along with all of the make-up and costuming and characterizations. What fun! What was also amazing with last weeks dance was the way he kept up with the pros at the beginning of the dance and I didn't notice this until I rewatched the dance because the first time around, all I saw was James. I really wish Sharna could have danced last night but heck, I hardly noticed Jenna so who knows if I would have noticed Sharna either!!!!
  4. I post very seldom but I am really tired of the "golden boy" hate. I really like Derek and enjoy his dancing! Throw in a little drumming for variety and it was fun. Last week with Maks and Val, I didn't post that I disliked it but I did. For those who like them...well, Maks, I like Val....it was probably a fine performance but for me it was uncomfortable with the lady they dragged on the stage. In tonight's performance, there were a lot of terrific dancers and dance was highlighted not just Derek! I loved the variety in the dance and the section with Derek and the female dancer(sorry, don't know who it was) was breath-taking. I can't understand why folks can't just watch the performances and enjoy the dancing...I surely liked Derek's dance tonight much more than some unknown singer singing for whatever reason. And you know, believe it or not, I think Derek was really happy for Sasha and Emma!
  5. CONGRATULATIONS KELLY!!!!! http://www.fox13news.com/entertainment/122520267-story
  6. Saw this article on Yahoo Music and found it a little interesting...especially if you read to the end and read Simon Fuller's favorites. Hmmm, he really likes JLo! https://www.yahoo.com/music/show-creator-simon-fuller-on-why-this-may-not-be-175807373.html
  7. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't she just 22? 23 at the most? I am not a fan but her age certainly isn't a detriment.
  8. I am sorry but if I have to hear "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" on Idol, I think I will puke! Second season, it was so overdone by KLo! I actually thought it was the only song that she knew and them McFee happened. Same thing, if she didn't have a specific theme, it seemed that SOTR came out. Can't she find another song? Please!
  9. They did sound good but I think they gave them God Bless America so they couldn't mess up the National Anthem! Problem was, they could not have done any worse than the person who did sing it! Don't have any idea who he was but it hurt my ears! As an aside...remember how great Clay sounded when he sang at Dover in 2004? I sure do!
  10. This is probably old news, but has anyone else seen the Lazy Boy commercials with Brooke Shields and Constantine Maroulis? The one I am linking to is an old one(and directed by Fred Savage!) but I have just seen a new one with them. http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6648472/american-idol-constantine-maroulis-brooke-shields-la-z-boy-ad
  11. I live in Florida and I laughed when they said they would "just" move when a storm is coming. The question is, where to move! When Charley came through, it was supposed to come directly through Sarasota. When I left work, it was. By the time I got home 20 minutes later, it had turned and roared into Charlotte Harbor, across the middle of the state and into the Orlando area. Where did everyone from here run to before the storm? Orlando! You never know what a storm is going to do so making a choice where to go is a crapshoot! Also the road congestion to leave is a huge problem. I guess if you are stuck in traffic and the storm hits, you could run back and get into your storage container! What fun!
  12. Which means I will probably not even bother to watch! I like Derek and what he brings to the show.
  13. Actually the concrete lounge is not really innovative! I live in Sarasota, FL and here is a link to the entrance to one of the areas of Siesta Beach...one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!(Just look it up!) https://www.tripadvisor.ca/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g34636-d123075-i146199996-Siesta_Beach-Siesta_Key_Florida.html The first time I saw them, I thought, Too hard, too low!
  14. Nope, his name is James Daniel! Must be named after his father since he is a Jim! I have actually been enjoying this series because of the gorgeous scenery!
  15. I haven't posted this season mostly because of the vitriol that has almost taken over the board at times. It got most uncomfortable to read some of the posts and "ignoring" the posts really didn't work because of people quoting them. I really enjoyed this year, and I loved Bindi! It was fun seeing someone happy and full of joy instead of full of doom and gloom! I think she is a cheery person in real life and it shows through all the time. Yes, at times the judges were over the top but that was not her fault so why take it out on her? I also really think that Derek(who is my favorite pro and has been since the beginning of his career on the show) seemed to enjoy the season and dancing with Bindi! He seemed relaxed and happy the whole season. Now to the finale! The first night's dances were all great but I thought that Bindi and Derek's quickstep was the best of the best! It was fun and full of joy. Her freestyle did stand out from the others because it was just the two dancers and it had some beautiful lifts and turns but it was too much like her contempory dance earlier in the season. I thought that Alek's freestyle was a show of his strength but wasn't really full of dancing. His Rumba was really lacking hip movement. I really didn't like Nick's freestyle dance...it looked like a staged dance for the BSB's and I thought he got lost in the crowd. His jive on the other hand, was great even if he did get winded. The one thing I found ironic was that only Bindi and Derek's freestyle did not include the arm synchronization that everyone kept complaining about him overdoing in his dances! Every other duo included it in their dance! The second night was long but it was filled with lots of good things in MHO. I thought the set was gorgeous and I kept forgetting that it was in LA not New York where folks should be cold! Santa was a bit of a let down and Santa Gary was a bit scary but that was overcome by the cute little elf that Victor was! I love Andy Grammer and if his duet with Chaka was flat, I didn't notice because I have a tin ear! They looked like they were really having fun. All in all, a fun night and a great finish for Bindi! I am glad that Len will be back! He was missed this year! If any of the judges go, I would like it to be Carrie Ann....she has turned into Paula Abdul! I look forward to Derek so I hope, unlike many others, he returns . Someone mentioned that they wanted him to work with someone older(how about Jennifer Grey) or with bad knees(how about Amber Riley), or heck how about someone with no legs(Amy Purdy)? Been there, done that so I think he can work with almost anyone! All in all, I enjoyed this season a lot! (Well, I could have done without Gary Busey, but he always makes me uncomfortable!) I was surprised that I liked Hayes and the boy did try! Wasn't in love with Paula but that lady has some legs on her as does Chaka Khan! I would have loved to see Andy with another pro. Guess I have gone on enough but this was my post for the whole season!!!
  16. I think that JD is actually really cute! And he is the older brother. I have forgotten how to do the "pretty" link but here is his bio off of the Scott brothers site: http://www.thescottbrothers.com/about-us/j-d-scott/
  17. I finally figured out why Rumer and Val did not "move" me. I cannot remember one of their dances...they all looked the same to me. Oh, I remember that she danced well in them, and I can remember her costumes, but the dance itself...NO. I did not go back and watch any of her dances because they were dull to my eye. Good dancing but the only memorable thing for me was when she was balanced on Val in the Black Swan. I have rewatched several of Riker's dances just because they were "fun filled" even if they were frantic. And I can't remember how many times I have watched Nastia, Sasha and Derek on the train. I love the song and the fun that was in that dance. I also have rewatched the trio dance over and over. That for me was what was missing from the Finale...there were no memorable dances and I missed that. Riker and Allison's fusion dance was the closest they came and that was actually after the fact. This was a most forgettable Finale which I almost didn't watch but I wanted to see Derek and Julianne dance. For that and the train ride dance, I am glad I did watch.
  18. I very seldom post; I love reading everyone's comments but tonight, I had to say something! What the heck was the last two hours? I thought that this was the American Idol finale...not how many stars/singers(and in some cases, I use this term loosely!)can one show squeeze in? Remember the good old days when the finalists were the stars of the show? Not a huge group of singers and the judges, yes the judges performing.(Wondering if the new name of the show is, American Judges?) Even if I am not really interested in the contestants this year, I sure would rather see them than what I saw tonight. I still remember how much I enjoyed the Season 2 finale(well, until the results came in at least!) It was about Clay and Ruben, not a bunch of people I care nothing about. One hour would be just enough...let Nick and Clark sing. OK, I am going to get off my soapbox and slink back into my little corner. But I sure hope that next year they strip back and make it about the contestants, not background singers, the band, the judges and all the extras....just the singers and hopefully the show will end on a good note!
