  1. Fake-out! Adam and Eddy are probably the technical team pulling the plug.
  2. I think so too. :( I guess it's going by Eastern time? I just posted something too.
  3. I find it kind of funny that Regina's aggressive and rude demeanor in the end actually ended up causing Emma to ask the "Do you love him?" question which resulted in her staying. Regina is such an idiot and she doesn't even know it. I remember wondering why Regina got a hold of the book at the end, and she just gave it back to Henry. I wondered the same thing when I just rewatched. The pilot was like a little standalone movie, and every character was perfect with the perfect amount of screentime. The two-hour S3 finale was sort of like a standalone movie too, and it was pretty good, but it still pales compared to the pilot in terms of the depth and complexity of emotion.
  4. I actually enjoyed the Red/Granny and Grumpy centrics, and I thought all of those actors did fine. I also enjoyed the actress who played Blue on other shows, and I wouldn't mind watching a Blue centric either. They could do a mini-season where each of these supporting characters get an episode to expand upon their backstories. These are fairy tales and the main criteria for characters is they have charisma, and I feel this series actually has done a good job with selections of minor, supporting and guest characters for the most part.
  5. Glad you're over here, justcris. I agree... I would like a miniseries/limited series that takes place in Oz or Neverland too, especially Oz since I felt we hardly saw it. Unfortunately, this "Wonderland" spinoff got such bad ratings that it might have given them pause. :/
  6. You should still watch it, Mari. Don't let my negative comments affect that, since I think most people loved the movie. The two sisters were really close when they were very young (at the beginning of the movie), but Elsa's magic accidentally hurt Anna. The healers fixed Anna but erased her memory of the event, and Elsa stayed in her room all the time to avoid putting her little sister in danger. I think the giant snowman was just meant to make sure Anna (the younger sister) left and went back home, and was an excuse for action sequences. I don't think the audience was meant to conclude that Elsa didn't care about hurting her sister. Since in this movie, you can fall off a cliff and still be okay since it's "just snow".
  7. Emma pretty much sacrificed the life of her baby sibling, her parents, not to mention her and her son's very existence by doing mouth on mouth on Hook to save him from drowning. I'm not sure what more of a gesture one can give beyond that.
  8. That's good to know. I saw the word Terminator in the title and assumed the worst.
  9. Reposting from TWoP... Now that I've watched "Frozen", I am thinking about how they might adapt Elsa into the show. Horowitz said they do not plan to change the essence of her character, which means she will be misunderstood and not able to control her powers but not evil. Since Regina and Rumple could be occupied with their own storylines (Regina with Marion/Robin - who would inevitably end up with a flashback fleshing out their story, and Rumple with lying to Belle), I think the most logical would be to use Elsa with Snow/Charming, by making her the sister of one of them. If they want to keep the sisterly bond angle, that would be Snow. Plus they already have the standby Younger versions of Ava and Leopold, which they can use in flashback, and they can keep the backstory of Elsa accidentally hurting Toddler Snow, and Snow's memories were erased to protect Elsa's secret. They could then have Ava/Leopold got to Rumple, who traps Elsa into an urn. They could use this event to explain how Ava changed from a brat to the better person she became. The good thing is they could avoid the "big bad" formula in 4A by having Elsa freeze Storybrooke to create the main threat. Maybe her powers interferes with the Curse's magic and people have no food. They could also say Elsa's magic also "freezes" Regina and Rumple's magic, so they cannot create warmth or food either. So the danger would basically be starvation. It could give Charming and Emma the storyline of how to rule the town and how to give hope to people who are hungry, who are looking to them to solve the problem. They could have Snow regain her memories of Elsa or be told that Elsa is her sister, and then it's her job to "thaw" Elsa. The writers have mentioned Snow living with half a heart will come up, so they could still ultimately end with Elsa shooting Snow in the heart, who is even more weakened since she only has half of one.
  10. I couldn't find this thread, so recreated the old one. I guess this is for discussion of "Once Upon a Time" compared to the source material, and other adaptations such as films. -------------------- I just watched "Frozen" last night, mostly because of the season finale and to get a sense of what next season will entail. * Beware "Frozen" spoilers below... I thought the movie wasn't bad, but I also wasn't that impressed either. It wasn't really a traditional Disney animated film where there was a clear villain, until the reveal almost at the end of the film. Which is refreshing in a way but the first third of the film seemed to drag because of it with almost no forward momentum. When it was revealed that the Prince was actually evil, it came out of nowhere and it reminded me of "Once Upon a Time" and not in a good way (aka Tamara). I actually liked the Prince more than that ice breaker guy. The relationship between Anna and Elsa felt really undefined as well. So Elsa was shut up in the room all the time? Did she come out for dinner? She spent all those years and STILL couldn't control the freezing power? Even with gloves on? Why didn't she just wear gloves all the time? And what happened in the 3 years after the parents died, and Elsa became Queen? Who was the regent during this time? I can understand why Horowitz and Kitsis said they loved the movie, since it was a typical sob story for a misunderstood so-called villain, except in this case, Elsa wasn't really a villain except for sending that giant evil snowman to chase her sister. But she was just crying in the castle, so maybe she forgot she sent that thing which pretty much could have killed Anna by throwing her off a cliff?
  11. In Season 4 of "Once Upon a Time", Storybrooke becomes an epic battleground between Elsa from "Frozen" and the Blue Fairy. Because NO ONE wears blue except Blue.
  12. The over exaggeration is certainly not attractive in a showrunner. Nevertheless, I'm hoping having a young Bruce does ensure there is going to be some time devoted to character development with character moments for both Bruce and Gordon, instead of being a boring ol' procedural or action show.
  13. Does this mean Dorothy will be travelling into Oz for the first time? Or would she have been there when she was a little girl and now she's going back? I never watched "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" but was there any care and attention to building good characters and having emotional moments, or was it just a bloodfest?
  14. They need to be careful with this. It could just become a mindless repetitive mess like "Revolution" if the people in charge seems as heavy into bloodlust as the promotional blurb. Like Arynm, I really hope they will use the books to do some intricate world-building, so it actually feels like Oz, and not some random place where war is being fought. I would prefer a more whimsical approach, but it is still possible to use the book's stories as a basis for a more serious story, I suppose.
  15. I went to the Art Gallery today and took a walk where the Blue Fairy lost her shadow and no one cared.
  16. I did not like that hiked up corset that they had Emma wear when she dressed as a peasant in the Enchanted Forest. That was totally unnecessary and took me out of the episode.
  17. I was quite impressed with the job they did too, especially with the quick shots of her body double in some scenes, and shots that did not show her baby bump. Way better than the ridiculous costumes and complete lack of strategic filming in "Going Home" which took me out of that episode. For example, they didn't even try in that flashback scene with Mary Margaret and Henry.
  18. Great idea for a topic. I was getting really confused in regards to the Robin Hood/Marion timeline, which will be important next season. While staying in Rumple's castle, Roland found his way into a Locked Cabinet and ate an "Eat Me" cake which de-aged him 2 years. This was the basis for Robin Hood having a crisis of faith about his ability as a single father, perfect for a flashback episode revolving around Robin Hood and Regina in Season 4. Voilà. The ease of being a writer for this show.
  19. I suppose the problem is that Emma could have changed the past, if Marian had ended up not being executed. What if she had somehow escaped execution and then she went and did something important later on with a lot of ramifications? But having said that, I don't think badly of Emma for saving Marion. It was unwise, but it shows sometimes she doesn't act as rationally as her normally controlled demeanor suggests. She's a "hero" and a hero finds it hard to let someone innocent die. So I am assuming Robin Hood does not know that Marion was captured by the Evil Queen? Even if he falls out of love with Marion, I don't see how he can see Regina the same way knowing she condemned Marion to death. Though you'd think he would have problems since he knew that as the Evil Queen, Regina murdered entire villages. Or did he not know that?
  20. Repost from TWOP: Along with everyone, I was so happy to see a flashback to Emma's childhood. I guess Mickey Mouse finally gets a cameo on the show. This episode was strange in the sense it really didn't have anything to do with the rest of the season. I love time travel plots, so I was really wanting/expecting to love it more than I actually did. I was surprised that I actually felt a little bored by it. "Snow Falls" is one of my favorite episodes, and maybe it's because we had seen way too much of the Snow-on-the-run period, but it felt a little like a retread, even with the slight differences. The recap with Henry reading the storybook and everyone recounting the story as a "review" was really clunky. In the time travelling parts, I did like Emma's reactions and her cute comments and looks regarding her parents. I guess I should be relieved that they didn't ruin "Snow Falls", which could have happened. There were definitely some fun moments but not enough. I was initially hoping for Emma to fall into the portal herself and not with Hook, but they weren't too bad together as a team. I am glad it was 2-hour but parts of it did drag and I missed the present-day versions of the characters left in Storybrooke. My other criticism of the episode would be the way they got Emma to recognize that Storybrooke was home. The concept is sort of clever in theory (Emma running into the diner like Dorothy waking from her dream), but coming to the realization just because she saw her mother die? I really wasn't expecting much since they spent the entire season making no progress on this front and now there was only 2 hours left, but a full journey would have been much more rewarding. Still, it could have been worse. I guess that's my motto for this show. I did find it interesting that Emma realized how Snow felt when she hugged the Original Recipe Snow who had no idea who Emma was. Did her first response really have to be "Just like your mother...?" I get why she would be displeased, but it seems like the obsession about Snow White is not over. After finally admitting earlier in the episode that she was the one who ultimately caused Daniel's death. Do the writers know they're shooting themselves in the foot here? I actually did see chemistry between Regina and Robin Hood for the first time at the beginning of the episode when he was wearing modern clothes. First time ever. Can't say the chemistry was there anyone by the end of the episode. Fleeting glimpses but not really enough. Ditto for Emma and Hook. I was really thankful that Regina was nowhere to be seen in Emma's reunion episode with her parents. I didn't mind the baby being named Neal. It was sort of strange though kind of nice that Emma was using Neal's definition of home. I really enjoyed seeing all the supporting characters, from Gepetto to Kathryn to Red to Blue to Maurice to Aurora (even though she didn't even get a line). The scene with Rumple and Belle's wedding was plain weird. No one even attended... I thought it was a flashback funeral at first before I realized the person in that outfit was Belle. The cutting of scenes was strange, between the wedding, Emma and Hook's never-ending kiss and Regina and Robin Hood walking down the street. The cliffhangers were sort of annoying. I suspected something bad was going to come out of the Woman Emma Saved. Marion? Meh. I just hope we won't have to see Regina revert yet again. I hope she is mature about it, or this show is really going to become unwatchable. I haven't watched "Frozen" yet, but I definitely will do so now. I would prefer if the show did the real Snow Queen story instead. Hopefully, the show will surprise us in this respect. Like how it looked like they were doing "Tangled" but we got the most bland Rapunzel in the history of screenwriting.
  21. I'm just re-posting from TWOP (only a repeat of the posts from over there). For a climatic episode, it was surprisingly unengaging and boring throughout. The Storybrooke stuff felt completely anticlimatic. The whole sequence with Zelena walking around the hospital and then taking the baby was drawn-out and not very interesting, considering it was a foregone conclusion that no one had a real plan and they might as well have placed pink flamingos along her route instead of Robin Hood and the band of useless, or Belle with her killer heels. I don't mind Regina gaining good magic, but to completely sideline Emma and basically make her a dumb stepping stone in Regina's journey to redemption? Emma choosing to save one person, over all the lives obliterated with Zelena changing the past, was just stupid, and it wasn't even done in a romantically satisfying way. The whole setup to make Regina the hero was a complete disservice to Emma as a character, basically making her an afterthought. The flashbacks were alright, but not that great either. I just can't stand watching idiotic characters, and they made Glinda and the council of witches as dumb as they come. It didn't help that Dorothy wasn't really that charismatic... not that they gave her much to work with. So David's "soft touch" with the Winged Monkey was to cut its head off? Again, huh? What a disappointing episode all 'round. Even the "surprise" with Rumple killing Zelena was meh. I don't think he stabbed her with the dagger. He froze her like he did Henry in that dream sequence from last year, and then smashed the porcelain with his dagger. Why did Emma leave the hospital again? They knew Zelena would need to go there to grab Snow's baby. Why not set up a trap where some people could distract Zelena (maybe Emma and Regina could have setup decoy Snow and Charmings in every hospital room), allowing Emma to zap her with light magic, and then Regina could grab the pendant and/or Rumple's dagger? Emma's light magic isn't enough, and Regina realizes that she could emit light from her hands too. But Zelena had imposed a giant triangle placing the heart, the sword and the brain in three corners of the town with the hospital at the forth corner, so the spell went through anyway. Same ending without making everyone seem like idiots. With this episode, Emma's only purpose in all of 3B was to bring Henry to Storybrooke so Regina can get in touch with her inner light. Meanwhile, I'm sure the Blue Fairy can breathe a sigh of relief now that Glinda has taken her place as the Dumbest Magic User Ever. If this was a cop show, Glinda would go to the prison, find some mentally unstable violent offender, offer them a gun to "concentrate their powers" for good, and then set them free in their very own precinct to look after. And then after that psychotic person tries to kill an innocent girl, she would reminisce that they "used to be friends".
  22. This is just a repost from the other message board... This was the first episode this half-season that felt enjoyable and engaging all the way through, with a good mixture of character moments and actual plot progression and momentum, along with some hilarious lines plus use of the supporting characters. Of course, there were some flaws, but I liked it. The episode got me from the beginning with the war council that actually contained Granny and Grumpy, and we actually got to see Belle catching everyone up and Aurora and Philip explaining that whole betrayal thing (which I still hated, and I hate that they killed Flying Monkeys which could be their friends even though the effects were cool). Is Glinda as useless as the Blue Fairy or what? I didn't need her to be friends with Crazy Zelena. Why would she be. Clearly a horrible judge of character considering Ze-ze is clearly wacko to anyone with half a brain. I don't read spoilers so the show almost gave me a heart attack when they killed Charming and kept him dead for 5 minutes. I would be so broken up right now if that had truly happened. But it seems like I didn't know about the Heart Bissection Transplant Procedure they have in the Enchanted Forest. While I don't like the concept of Snow enacting the Dark Curse and Charming sacrificing himself on paper, those two have so much chemistry that the scene was powerful and moving. I liked that Snow and Charming took the lead in the flashback portion, which made me like Snow again with her can-do attitude. I also liked her little conversation with Emma. Emma's fight with Henry was really good and well-played. I liked their quest to get Henry to remember. I must say I was annoyed that Regina broke the Curse by kissing Henry though. That was to be expected with these writers' love affair with her, but that was the one sour note in the episode. It was strange how Emma didn't kiss Henry the moment Zelena repelled Henry away from Emma's magic. Though I really liked Regina throughout the flashback, how she was incredulous at Snowing for picking flowers and how sad she looked when Snow lost Charming for a brief time. I still don't feel any chemistry between Regina and Robin Hood but that pinecone line was hilarious.
  23. Good luck, shapeshifter. That sounds horrible. I would say try not to let them bother you since they don't deserve it but I know that's pretty much impossible.
  24. Maybe there was a cut scene where Emma and Charming came to the house and the door was missing? Hijinks ensued until Emma used her magic to blast a door open. And then they decided to cut it out because it was too stupid even for this episode and they needed to insert another scene of Snow prostrating herself in front of Regina for her line of ancestors telling secrets which caused chains of events leading to destruction of entire realms.
