  1. I think that was the best that Carter has danced on the show 😂 I have to remind myself that the show is edited down to fit the timeframe. I hope the judges are making better comments that are just getting cut. (I hope) I've been watching old seasons, and the judges absolutely had favorites and tailored their comments appropriately. Someone dancing outside their style might get "the steps weren't really there but you sold it and I loved it you were amazing you should be so proud" or "I know it's not your style but you have to do better and this is just unacceptable". I'm admittedly not a dancer, but I couldn't see reasons for the different standards of judging, other than wanting some dancers to continue over others. They also occasionally kept less technical dancers over others, but often they rose to the occasion and proved their abilities. That said, an absolute crime that Anna and Thiago were sent home when they were. They were my favorite auditions. And getting to see Anna dance with Keaton broke my heart for all the routines we should have seen her dance.
  2. It's very possible that being responsible for a meal means the cooking and cleaning up. It does not necessarily mean financially responsible.
  3. She probably wasn't even born when this aired.
  4. Oh god, just put Beau out of his misery already.
  5. Okay, but like, aren't you still going to need income even if you go back to school???
  6. YES! I noticed that too! It made him look much heavier then he is. Ugh, I liked Beau at first and thought he danced better than people were giving him credit for. He was awful this episode and should have gone home. Easily the worst dancer of the night. Both in the duet and the solo. His solo was absolutely nothing new. I think we've seen everything he can give us. Also the judges were way less critical of Beau and Ralyn than everyone else even though they were clearly the worst. Bah humbug. Also, Anna was my favorite and I am devastated.
  7. IPS Default is an absolute godsend. I used to use dark mode and one time I was bitching about the ads making the page jump and someone (possibly in this forum?) suggested IPS default and I've never looked back.
  8. I could judge as well as Leah Remini and neither of us has any business judging this show. Judges are there to help the audience interpret what they don't know. To tell me that someone needs better extension or what the technique should look like. They're there to tell me what good partnering is and give specific dance critique. Leah is just giving the audience perspective, "that moved me" "you look beautiful together" "you took me on a journey". All that shit is stuff I can see for myself. Tell me something I don't know!! She is just so out of place and out of touch. And I think she knows it. Half her sentences started with "I agree". She can't have an opinion of her own because she doesn't have an opinion of her own because she doesn't know enough to have an opinion!
  9. Everything Everywhere All at Once is hands down the best movie I've ever seen. I cannot say enough good things about it. It is absolutely worth the price of going to the movies. And it is original. And amazing.
  10. The ER will absolutely send you home even if something is wrong. Unless they're admitting you they get you out as soon as possible.
  11. When I started the reading the post I legitimately thought she was talking about God.
  12. I'm rewatching because it took me a few episodes to get hooked so I know I missed things. Something I missed the first time, although in hindsight it should've been obvious, is during the tea party with the English in episode 1. I thought all the pirates dressed up as English nobleman, but it was only the white crew (minus Wee John, maybe because nothing fit him). The non white crew were all playing servants and the English were hella racist. And you can see the crew visibly uncomfortable, not just in trying to be "mannered" but also because they feel that racism and hate it. Jim finally breaks that tension with a gorgeous knife throw through the teacup and into an asshole's hand. Also, I don't think we get much backstory on Lucius, but it seems like he was not a pirate previously but was hired by Stede as a biographer/valet. There's his education level and, at least in the first episode, his distaste of violence. I think his clothing was a bit nicer too. God I love this show.
  13. Snakes is such a common fear too. They don't bother me at all, but I'd never mock anyone for their fear/dislike of them. Also, depending on where you live, a completely reasonable fear!
  14. At least they're not all white. 🤷‍♀️
  15. Oh sure that's the ideal. But it's much more important to get married and have babies. You pray that God will bring the right person into your life. Everything is about courtship and marriage. If they're broke but they love God then that's good enough! The Lord Will Provide, doncha know. In this case, by making someone feel bad for these poor kids and giving them basement shade.
  16. They have no money to afford an actual apartment, so they live in a church member's basement. Christians helping Christians and all that shit. I was raised in a similar fashion, not quite as fundie, but close. God's Will directs every choice you make. I was once agonizing over a decision and telling a friend that I didn't know what God's Will was. They told me, "what if both options are God's Will, what if you have a choice over which one YOU want to do". I was 20 years old and dumbfounded because no one had ever told me that was an option. It was always "one decision God's Will and the other is wrong and you'd better make the right choice". And these decisions were about EVERYTHING, even minute details. Anyways, now I'm an atheist. 😂
  17. I'd tell her that it's my alarm clock that gets me up in the morning. I'm snarky on and offline.
  18. The costumes seem so much cheaper this time around. And the editing is terrible. They showed Jenny's line about having dancer's legs 3 different times about 2 different people. It's just so scripted. And the reactions are clearly edited into different performances and moments that you really can't trust anything. Add in the stupid casting for controversy and I think I'm out. Oh, and Ewan?! How the fuck did they guess that with a straight face. He wouldn't be caught dead with 100 miles of this show
  19. Ugh I'm not surprised but I'm still so sad
  20. I am disappointed and not surprised. Kane has always seemed like a good ol' boy. I've always thought he was hot as hell but also thought that if I actually knew him we'd likely have very different value systems.
  21. I think Deepti had known for awhile that Shake wasn't sexually attracted to her and was over it. She never seemed that upset about his misgivings and I think it's because she knew he wasn't worth it. She's played along for the cameras but was ready to say no for a long time. And she did it like a queen. I am so proud of Natalie. Editing tried to fool me, but Shayne is 100% the asshole I pegged in the beginning. And more than likely an alcoholic with an anger problem. I am so glad that Natalie went with her gut and got out. Mal and Sal, I think they might stay friends. I don't think they're going to date. I think they'll find other people. But I also think they might have been the most honest with each other. Iyanna and Jarrett were cute together. I hope they make it work. I think there will be adjustments ahead but I think they both want to try. Nick and Danielle. Fuck me, what a disaster. Maybe, like others have said, if they get some therapy, but I don't think so. I can't believe Nick said yes. He looked miserable the whole time. I think he was afraid to say no and worried about Danielle spiraling if he rejected her. I'm guessing the reunion show will bring some DRAMA. Maybe Shayne and Shaina will get engaged!
  22. I think the issue with Sal's ex was that she thought they were a couple and then he left to do the show. And came back engaged. Similar to guys that go on the Bachelor but have a girlfriend back home. So the ex is upset because they were a thing. Mal is upset because why do the show is you were in a relationship and wondering if Sal is really serious about it. And Sal isn't being honest about what that relationship really was. I think Mal will say no. She always says she appreciates Sal, like that's her first instinct. And then follows up with an I love you. And I don't see them planning to integrate their lives. Shayne and Natalie actually feel like they're talking about the future and planning the future and taking steps for that. Nick and Danielle, never gonna happen. The more he gets to know her the more i out of that relationship he is. He just has to get her to the wedding and then he's out.
