  1. I am beyond confused and obviously have not paid close enough attention. In the elimination quickfires, if the chef who lost the quickfire (Aaron) wins the elimination round, is no one eliminated? He picked Katie for the elimination challenge, yes? Yet she was in the second challenge at Fenway. So is it only a risk to be eliminated if the original loser loses the elimination round? I thought it was whoever lost the elimination round is gone, knives packed. I'm confused. Stacy is growing on me which I didn't expect. I like Gregory as well. I really enjoyed Melissa too and hope she makes it far. I think at the moment, those are my top three.
  2. We should probably just create a Kliff Kingsbury appreciation thread. :) So, the College Football Playoff committee rankings were released last night. I surprised myself by actually watching. It is ridiculous how everyone is already up in arms over the rankings. There is still a lot of football to be played. No reason to go into a tizzy at the moment. As a Husker, I enjoyed (perhaps loved) being ranked ahead of Ohio State and Oklahoma. I was also thrilled that Wisconsin was not ranked. However, I'd greatly appreciate it if they could temporarily pull themselves together and get ranked by the time we play them on teh 15th to help our SOS.
  3. I agree a thousand percent with that statement. Personally, I think he is even better looking than his doppleganger, Ryan Gosling. :)
  4. May I suggest perhaps having two weeks to read the book before discussions begin? I don't know about you all but work and personal life can get crazy at times, especially with upcoming holidays, although at other times it is the complete opposite.
  5. After watching last night's episode, which I enjoyed because I really like both Tom and Jenny, I kept laughing to myself. I was laughing because I assumed this board would be delighted by two things: Andy skipped the game! Miracles do happen! Wacha bit Tom -- and drew blood. So many people complain about the dog being on set. I just thought if anything might make Andy or his bosses (because he isn't the head honcho of all of Bravo) rethink having Wacha on set, it would be him biting a guest AND drawing blood. I feel horrible for Tom. Not cool Andy and Wacha. As much as I adore dogs, it doesn't seem like the best atmosphere for him. Too much excitement with new people and lights and sounds, etc.
  6. I just discovered this thread and am so happy. I'm in a rut of finding books to read. One of my favorite authors is Jen Lancaster. I enjoy some "chick-lit" (ugh, I cringe typing that) but not most. I really enjoy mysteries and the classics. I'm also preparing for a beach vacation later this year so I'm looking for books to put on my nook for easy reading. Any suggestions?
  7. I'm in! My past book clubs would mix current books with classics. Right now they are reading "The Giver." We all know we read it in school but do not remember a single thing from it. Haha.
  8. I was okay with Penny not laughing or agreeing with Leonard after he claimed to be a genius in bed. Only because I'd have been the same way should a boyfriend say the same thing to me. Not because I might not agree with it but more so because I'd view it as fishing for a compliment and that is a pet peeve of mine.
  9. I just finished reading "Orange is the New Black." It was fascinating and much more realistic than the show, which is still incredible. Reading the board this morning about which prison Tre will go to and prison vs halfway house reminded me of something in there. Kerman was in Danbury when Martha Stewart was sentenced. Leading up to the sentencing and until Stewart had been placed in her prison, Danbury had "shut down" claiming it was full. As in they wouldn't accept any new prisoners. I wonder if Danbury will do that again in regards to Tre. Just random musings.
  10. Oh how I love college football. I did not enjoy the first half of my Huskers' game against Northwestern but enjoyed the second half quite a bit. Because I'm a horrible person, on our last offense drive, I kind of wanted them to try to pull off the hail mary from last year. You know, just for shits and giggles. I know, I'm a horrible person. :) Now living in Oklahoma I quite enjoyed seeing OU lose. Their fans I interact with are quite arogant and pompous. Wasn't aTm supposed to be a national championship contender at the start of the year? Whoops. Also, I'm in a college football pick 'em league. I'm beyond annoyed with Arkansas. It was painful to pick them but they had come so close the past few weeks I thought they would finally break through and be victorious. Nope. Not so much. Never again Arkansas. Never again. I agree with a poster upthread, I would hate to be on the playoff committee. This has been a wild, and fun, season and it is only half over. Speaking of the committee, Archie Manning resigned from it. Prayers to him for his health. They will move forward with only 12 members. Also, did anyone watch "Unbeaten" on BTN following the Nebraska-Northwestern game? It was a short documentary on Brook Berringer. My eyes got a little misty watching it.
  11. I don't watch this show with much focus. Perhaps I'm subconciously trying to ween myself off it. At the end they showed some music video with the girls, Abby and the mom. When it first started they highlighted each girl individually. Was the last "girl" Gianna? Also, I cringed at the "character" they created for Jill. That is a shame they cut Fancisco confirming Abby tried to get the results changed. Also a shame they didn't have the other Christy there, as much as I can't stand her, to irritate Abby. They truly need to end this show. I will say I kind of miss Kelly, Brooke and Paige. Perhaps if they were still there they wouldn't be bringing in all these other dancers.
  12. I've never watched RHONJ but have caught clips here and there as well as seeing the ladies on WWHL. But man, while dying of boredom at work yesterday, I stumbled upon this thread and love it! I couldn't wait to return to work this morning to finish catching up. I didn't see it posted but I thought this article, "The Rise and Fall of Teresa Giudice" on Buzzfeed was beyond excellent. http://www.buzzfeed.com/kateaurthur/teresa-giudice-15-months-in-prison-next-on-rhonj#2dg80ks
  13. Does anyone think Nebraska will beat Michigan State this Saturday? Also, I'm so happy it is football season again.
  14. So, if these competitions are fake, speficially nationals, do the girls know they are fake? If they know they are fake, then they are probably always wondering how good they actually are. If they don't know they are fake, when they find out, that will be quite the blow. Talk about messing with the minds of children.
  15. I finally got around to watching the most recent episode. Before Tripp asked Kerry to go to South Carolina, I almost expected him to ask her about them no longer seeing others. Also, Erika has an amazing wardrobe. I'm jealous.
  16. Nebraska is my alma mater. Oh how I wish I could have been at that game. It was fantastic. And of course, I am still giggling over Mizzou losing. That always makes everything better. I held out hope for Clemson to win and they were so, so close. Why can't I have nice things? Why?
  17. I can't remember, what did Izzy say in her DR? Also, I personally think Caleb looks better with the shaved head. And I wanted to cry during the segment when Donny was always alone. It was just sad.
  18. I felt bad for Caleb when he was evicted. His face just looked so crestfallen. I wanted to give him a huge hug. Loved when he called Frankie out for not being a great person. I also laughed when he admitted his Mom said he isn't the brightest crayon in the box and Julie mentioned that at least he is in the box. He just clung to that with a "Yes! Yes I am!" He is kind of an adorable lug. I haven't seen anyone else mention this but I found it very interesting that Julie said to Caleb "Well, at least you weren't booed." This makes me think that maybe Frankie actually was booed because Frankie was evicted between Caleb and Christine and it has been at least a week since Christine was evicted so the comment about being booed was't the most relevent. I'm probably grasping at straws but her comment just made me wonder.
  19. Thanks wings707. I was guessing that from all the posts here but wanted to check. Hate to waste my time.
  20. I didn't realize the show started late because of football so I wasn't able to adjust my DVR. I caught all of the episode up to Hayden and Nicole kissing in the backyard at the conclusion of the luxury competition. Is it worth watching the rest of the episode online?
  21. So can Izzy win America's Favorite? Because I would totally vote for Izzy.
  22. Blink and you'll miss him but he was there (along with me) in line. The guys and production did love him though. I'm sure he was the highlight of this entire competition for them. :)
  23. Ha! Whoops! I am owned by Rocky, a long-hair chihuahua. Here he is in the car (which he loves) between food trucks. He was not happy at all. :)
