The Clarks vs Camp Dinner Bell: Comparing FTWD and TWD
mandolin replied to HalcyonDays's topic in Fear The Walking Dead
Yes, (one of my) big problems is we aren't shown anything. A couple people being shot, some police lights, one riot, and now we're barricaded in our neighborhood. There are only 12 safe zones, and no one bats an eye? What does that mean? If everything outside the safe zone is dead...what happens? Did no one try to flee LA? Where are the traffic jams and panic? For goodness sake, WHY IS NO ONE THROWING ALL THEIR CARDBOARD ON THE GROUND? I do not give a crap about these characters and find them mostly despicable. -

But Travis still expects trash pickup. I couldn't get over that. Some things are so NOT normal, and yet, they are acting like it's another day in the park. Shane did get the bag from Dale and took the guns to Hershel's house right before the barn massacre, so they had all the guns. And yes, Travis is completely nonsensical. Most of these characters seem to be. I'd be hypervigilant, and they...just aren't. -

I found it interesting that they knew in 1 episode that you come back no matter how you die, whereas it took CDB until the end of season 2 to be sure. Rick's snoozing away in the hospital, and in LA, people already know that detail. -

I enjoyed the tiny preview for the "real" show. Hoping the song is out in iTunes soon. I'm glad I am not the only one that saw it as a shrug. -

His "acting" in the promos looks worse than Coral's in season 1. -

I'm going to watch FtWD, but every time I see their cast members posing and cheesing it up with my original WD people, I'm kind of "Step off!" in my head. :P -
I'm kind of a buzzkill. :P The first minute and a half of that trailer look really dumb to me. The kid running with the opened white shirt? Looks awful. When things pick up in the second half of the trailer, it looks better. If this is the whole first season, 6 episodes, how long until we get to Rick's original world?

I've only seen it once, but based on how misleading last year's was, I'd bet Rick doesn't actually have his gun on Morgan. -

I thought it was super cheesy. I liked Chandler Riggs's tweet about it: ChandlerRiggs @ChandlerRiggs Jun 23 I know how you feel dude #FearTheWalkingDead -

Oh, maybe that is where I first saw the recommendation for it. Either way, sounds like we are all moving right along on it! -

Thanks for recc'ing this. I recently did 6 hours in the car alone, and it was a great help. I just got to season 2. -
I never hated her more than in that scene. And that is saying something, because I hated her a lot otherwise.

I assume you mean because the scenery is boring, or because the traffic is bad. ;) Because otherwise GA is awesome - TWD is filmed here! (oh, and I live here) Random: My SIL is in Nashville doctoring folks at Vanderbilt, assuming you are there, and that just isn't your screen name! -

I'm the opposite...my body adjusts really quickly to meds, especially oral. They all become like sugar pills after a while. If I don't take something for a long time, it will be effective again, but then I'll adjust again, and nothing. Whenever I've had surgery, they've had to keep me on IV pain meds because the oral ones didn't do jack! PS. Ambien tastes bad when it's chewed. :-\ And then even that quits working. :P -

I don't think he means all in season 1. I'm sure he's hoping for a long run. I do think they'll want to stay in "the early days" for a long time...after that, won't it just be TWD: LA? -
The Comics: Same, Yet Different

The comic counterparts have done quite a lot. I think our TV folks will get around to it once they stop getting attacked by wackos every other episode! I think the timing was more coincidental versus Kirkman doing something in response to the viewers though. I think a lot of TV viewers may be bored by the rebuilding, but I'd like to see it. I am also interested in seeing how the Whisperers translate. Moreso than Negan. -
