  1. Maybe there are ways to know what storylines "worked" in the comics and what didn't. Nielsens for comics I guess. And those stories were flops. Doesn't answer your question of why the audience might be ok with violence and not sex, just maybe why they kept certain stories. Or, what kikismom said.
  2. Regardless of how things are laid out, I would still like a place to discuss the comics without TV spoilers. (Spoilers being unaired content.) Or, I guess I just had the thought since this is a TV site I can't ask for that. Ha!

I don't think Rick has an "anger issue." I think that would trivialize all he's been through. In fact, his first convo with Shane in the cruiser, he admits he doesn't even talk to Lori when angry; that she wants him to yell or "speak." I don't always think Rick is firing on all cylinders, but I'd love for once to see his family take care of him. Even Coral mostly yelled at him when he was so broken from the Gov fight. Dude just can't catch a break. I definitely think any anger he has is justified, though he does wander into Crazy Town quite a bit. (tm Glenn) This is how he's handling the ZA, for better or worse. Eta: after seeing Jbody's post, I probably identify as a Rick apologist (ya think?), but I have no qualms about what Michonne did. I love her too!
  4. Isn't he cute, though, on his wee little horsie with his wee little rifle? Aww. Ugh to your job situation. Just remember what Lori asked of Hershel when she was afraid of turning and eating her baby, "You. Do. Not. Hesitate."
  5. Ack. I won't cave and click on it. I won't!
  6. That made me laugh so hard. I wonder if Dale as played by another actor would've been less annoying to me. I have the same wonderings about Andrea, but, with the actors they had...burn. Andrea more than Dale. I'd toss some dirt on him, then burn.
  7. How about that thread just being up through current show episode and corresponding info? So it'd truly be a comparison of what they've shown us and what's in the books but not what's coming up in either one? And future comic talk would be in the comics thread. (Which would probably include some show spec but it would be true spec, non spoilery.) Does that make sense? If not, or if it's a bad idea, that's cool. Just another idea.
  8. I could get behind it if not for this. I am current on comics, but I avoid all tv show spoilers. Would that thread have tv spoilers or no? Knowing the comics means you think you know where the story will go. Knowing tv spoilers means you know what will happen because it's already out there. Two different things for me. ETA: I mentioned before, but I stay out of most spec posts because I do think I'd have an "unfair advantage" on much of the material based on the comics, and I know that would color my ideas. It'd be nice to have a spot to say, "it's crazy to think that X because in the comics Y!" But I wouldn't want some tv spoiled person to come in and say, "Well Z is actually happening next episode." :P

It was mentioned posts and posts ago that the CGI folks missed putting in a section of wall when Sasha is shown shooting the walkers during Rick's/Pete's fight. I just rewatched and the wall is there; it just curves at that point. Also, there is an actual wall at the film site. :) I do wonder if that corner/curve might be a weak spot though.
  10. I just rewatched and it does look to me like Carol has a slight smile during Rick's rant, and they show it just as he is saying (paraphrased), "you don't get to wait and see if things get better." This reminds me of when Hershel smiled when Rick told the Gov they could all live together. Hershel knew that Rick "got" his message. Now, Rick got Carol's message of being proactive (burning the bodies).
  11. $132! Ridiculous. I've done it twice now, and other than gas money I didn't pay anything! Must be some fancy fixins for lunch. ;)
  12. Yes, someone below you mentioned having them in a subforum, which might be okay, but unless people are actually going to post in them (whereas they don't in the current one), it's really a non-issue. I think the current situation works, but we don't get many episode relevant posts. The only iffy thing is mixing show vs comic talk and talk just about the comics and what's happening in them now. We could have two threads like that. "Current WD comic discussion" and "comics vs show"...
  13. I do think it's kind of difficult with the current comic thread to have an episode by episode discussion...I like to talk about the comics and where they are currently, but I do also like to talk about the show vs. comic comparison. If the mods don't mind lots of threads, it doesn't hurt to try.
  14. Right now, that would go in the comics thread. One of us always posts the panel vs screen post from Skybound in there! I'm fine with a separate thread, knowing that it wouldn't get a ton of posts. I'm also fine with what we have now. Just no tv spoilers unless tagged! :)

We did have a separate thread for one episode early on for comic talk. I liked it, but there wasn't much action then. There are more posters now so that might be different. I'd enjoy it. As a comic reader, I refrain from posting very often in the spec threads unless it's something I can't guess on, like Daryl or Sasha. I see people post in no spoiler threads and spoilers threads. I couldn't do that! I refrain rather than risk showing my comic hand. FWIW, I'm hard core TV spoiler free.
  16. If their goal was to follow the comic for the fight, they did a great job. With it, and with Rick's rant. I loved seeing it "come to life" though I didn't necessarily love it happening. I had the compendium showing my (non-caring) husband while we watched. "See! I knew it would happen!" I still like how the Jessie story developed in the comic more (to this point). :-\ Another comic comment: I saw spec online that the recent upcoming cover with Rick and the boats is Michonne and Ezekiel coming back from a trip. I've been missing her! http://www.thewalkingdead.com/the-walking-dead-139-preview/
  17. There is another small group that tries to break in before the saviors. Could be that too.

Not exactly. I won't talk comics in this thread, but there is a definite departure.
  19. It really surprised me that it was Nick that had the gun. I just can't imagine the circumstances surrounding that. How he got it, why, etc.

Or she is just as naive as the rest of ASZ appears to be. She cannot expect him to be okay immediately being constable of a "civilization," and I hope his family can and will help him.
  22. It was jarring to see Michonne without her sword. I felt she was almost naked out there, though she obviously knows her way around a gun. Swords don't run out of ammo though. I agree with your take on Michonne's actions, ghoulina. She cares for him, and she knows what he's been through ("I know you see things. I talk to my dead boyfriend.") I think she has to know this is hard on him, AND that his default response of late is zero to crazy man in 2 seconds; I just wish we'd get a conversation between them, re: about how they are dealing with it. Maybe next episode.
  23. No worries, then...CDB will rise again.
  24. I watched that line and the following swagger many times. :) YES. That paragraph. YES. Thank you. He never wanted this (and I mentioned this recently, go back and see Vatos Guillermo's speech about being leader!).
