  1. Wouldn't it be funny if Matthew wins the whole shebang, star salvation and food network star, and now the FN has the problem of a winner who everybody hates based on his immaturity. I'm sure that won't be the case but it would be funny to me. That would mean they have chosen winners who lied about their military past ( i know he was disqualified but before that he was basically the one to beat in the final two), one who decided they didn't want to continue on w/ their own show, and a misogynistic pig.
  2. Well being called out for your snotty attitude and eliminated when the judges had someone else in mind in the main heat might humble someone just a smidge. YMMV
  3. When the episode first started and they showed Bobby and Giada my eyes were drawn to those tiny red daisy duke shorts. I really think Bob and Suzie, hell screw those two bring in Brooke Johnson, need to reign that woman and her libido in. I understand she is on the market again after her divorce, but damn woman dress your age.
  4. Wow, I saw that promo of Justin's show in one of those ad blurbs in the bottom of the screen, he looked horrible. The big hair, glasses, and red lips. I would be pissed if I was him b/c he looked like a drag queen.
  5. This entire episode was dedicated to Rosa and her defeatist attitude, so you just knew she was done. I kept wondering what the twist would be when they were grocery shopping. In years past I remember some teams went over budget so they put back an important ingredient for an team member, or they leave a bag behind, or some shenanigans like that. I was thinking before they said the twist that wouldn't it be funny if they had to use another teams ingredients. I swear if we had to hear/see Dom and his sad puppy dog eyes over that ribeye one. more. time... Grow up dude, just grow up, life throws you curves (competitions more so). I'm surprised he didn't pout and jump up and down. I was ready for the judges to bounce him over the ribeye pouting, but then we got the bolting from the stage. If this was any other season they would have sent him packing after that right there. I agree w/ the poster upthread that mentioned why Rosa had to be stuck w/ the mushrooms. She needed to stand up to the others and say share the protein. To be honest though, she was going to make chicken parmigana b/c it's the perfect picnic food? Um....okay. So you can marinate chicken in yogurt and then throw it on the grill and not get sick....other than the chicken being undercooked. How can anyone, Arnold, not have a shrimp cooked through? My issue w/ Arnold and where I think they will run into a problem was from the very beginning it seemed like Arnold wanted to do his show as his drag persona. Is America ready for that?
  6. That's what that was in the finished pasta dish? I got bored and turned the channel before she finished that meal b/c I feel as though i've seen her make it many times over. I kept thinking that was pieces/chunks of butter she threw on it after it came out of the oven. I like cream cheese, but not in chunks like that. Ugh...
  7. The breakfast biscuit looked good, but I too couldn't figure out why you would want an egg w/ runny yolk if it was for on the go? The brisket looked good, and I couldn't figure out at first why she added the veggies on top, but it made sense when it was supposed to be a dinner and that was one of the sides basically.
  8. One thing I noticed was how the Mom's Sadness emotion seemed to be in charge of the other emotions. Does each person have a main emotion that is the default leader, such as Mom's is sadness, Riley's is joy, and the Dad's was anger ( I can't remember if his anger emotion was the leader ). It made me wonder if for Riley, Sadness would eventually take control of the other emotions. It seemed like Joy came to that realization that perhaps she wasn't the default emotion anymore.
  9. I would watch a whole movie about the cat emotions....it was so awesome. I have four of my own and they all seemed to match up here. What was the part that everyone teared up at the most? I teared up at BingBong's final realization that he and what he stood for didn't exist nor to be needed anymore. His sacrifice to save Riley via Joy's journey was so much that i'm tearing up again right now. I went into this movie knowing about the character and how he was shrouded in mystery/downplayed that I thought he would end up being the villain, but he wasn't at all. Was it that the core memory was actually a sad memory, but w/ some joy to it at the end? The way they could keep rewinding or fast forwarding makes me think that the major percentage of that memory was a sad one, losing the hockey game, but the friends and family showed up at the end thereby making the final of the memory joy. Great movie, and for the love of goodness Pixar/Disney, no sequel unless it's about the cats!
  10. It might have been ridiculous, but it was what ultimately led to the doctor being prosecuted in a way. It seemed everyone in the town thought the death was suspicious but nobody was talking. Why wouldn't the defense not want to claim the Neulander's had a happy marriage? If they were the one's to bring up the strained marriage, due to infidelities, and her texting Robi, it would really make him look guilty. The doctor finds out his wife is planning to leave him after his infidelities and he kills her. Were any friends called to testify at the trial? I also really wouldn't call Robi a close friend, they met and texted mostly, maybe met here or there, but it wasn't like he was part of the community or anything, he was more like her texting confidant. I do think the doctor saw the texts and he snapped based off that and the strained marriage due to his infidelities and her starting the process of leaving him.
  11. I watched this one and I totally buy that the husband did this. I think he had some rage issues and he saw the text from the friend and he snapped. Do spouses not set up locks on their phones? I know most phones require it now, but do most spouses share the code or fingerprint scan on their phone? Was the friend she was planning to meet up w/ in NYC gay? As a gay man myself he struck me as that way so I don't know why she didn't just let the husband know he was gay, if he was. That would have eased his paranoia somewhat. I just don't know how that guy/friend functioned for awhile without seeking therapy. He had to think that he contributed to her death inadvertently from the text based on the husbands past snooping. It is possible that the husband just snapped on his own, but I don't know. I would think he would have to get some therapy to get past that, but that's just me. Does that mean the M.E. in that town would have had past cases looked at where he hastily made a decision without ruling everything out? I felt bad for the kids in that family, especially for the daughter that day b/c you know she is living in denial over what he did and how she might have helped conceal that day by moving the body then lying about it.
  12. I agree MMLEsq, they did make this show way more raunchy than needed, especially for primetime. I always thought it was a tame question and the contestants that brought out the inappropriate/oddball answers, not the other way around. The funny thing is this could be a great renaissance for game shows back in primetime, such as Match Game and so forth, but not if they are going to make it filthy for just plain filth sake.
  13. The Curtis Stone family, or would that it be more appropriate that it was actually the Price family w/ Curtis Stone, never got a chance really, but that is the game I suppose. Did both teams know the rules of the game? I thought if both players at the buzzer ran out of time or didn't get the answer that the next two family members come up to the buzzer. When Steve just asked the next two family members for an answer they looked surprised like they didn't know what was going on and by that point the buzzer went. You had to be damn quick on the spot to get what he was doing/wanting. It threw me too. So how in the hell was anyone supposed to guess "Lola, the street ho" or whatever that answer was? It reminds me of that Family Guy cutaway joke where Peter and the family are on the show and continuously win w/ Peter giving some off the wall answer where only one person gave that answer. The joke was Peter was in the survey group. The Potter family, damn that was some bleached/platinum hair in that group. The third sister, Brigette I think, the one in the middle of the group, looked exactly like that girl from the show Community, Gillian Jacobs, but w/ bleached/platinum hair. What the hell were those sister wearing though? Ruffled skirts? Really? I thought it was odd all the Braxton sisters were dressed up except for Toni. I did love how they were bashing each other for crap answers, b/c seriously, that's what a family would really do.
  14. I agree about Sita considering Matthew smirked up her departure from last week. The women were the clear winners, but they couldn't choose them b/c they wanted to be rid of Sita, so they decided to call no winners. Was anyone else shocked that there wasn't a Rue cutaway after they applauded Michelle on the brilliance of using the octopus as slimy? I was so waiting for Rue to roll her eyes and then we get a sarcastic "you're welcome." I loved how all the women pitched in on Sitas dish to make it somewhat presentable. Dom has to be gone in the next few episodes. Yes, he can cook great food but the being afraid of the camera and backing away the judges while presenting you can't fix that. I do love his "are we done / am i done?" after every presentation. Almost Dom...almost.
  15. I enjoyed the movie, and I totally understood the tongue-in-cheek aspect they were going for. They seemed to have nailed almost all the tropes you would find in a Lifetime movie / 80's tv movie of the week. I think what has shocked me the most is that most of the reviewers didn't understand that this wasn't supposed to be a serious movie or a full on out comedy movie. I just can't see how they missed the boat on this one.
  16. This is one of my favorite Tim Conway ad-libs that get's Carol Burnett to where she can't cheat the camera. It's a spoof of the Exorcist. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ymi0-jfbIwQ
  17. I thought the enchiladas looked good, and i'll be the first to say I don't have a clue on how to make red sauce, so at least I know she somewhat half-assed it anneofcleves. I was most shocked, which I shouldn't be regarding this show and who she cooks for, that she made cheese enchiladas and shredded pork for these guys. Is there some Drummond rule where every meal must consist of a meat? I mean if anything couldn't she have added the shredded pork to the enchiladas? Oh well. I noticed when she served that the pulled pork was meant to go on corn tortillas, or that's what the guys were doing, so wtf?! So what happened to the rest of that dressing for the coleslaw? I thought she might have poured the remainder over the coleslaw before she put it in the fridge. It looked liked the dressing to cabbage ratio was way off, it looked like it would be really dry. So how many times have we seen lemon bars on this show now? I have nothing against Papa Dummond, but I loved his helping to put up the new fence. It reminds me of my own dad helping to do chores by supervising. In other words he would be inside "supervising" while we did all the work. Happy Father's Day!
  18. I could see it as a screw you to Roger, but Adam is the one who ultimately chooses who goes home and who doesn't, no matter what the producers want as we saw with Britney, so if he didn't want Maya to go home she wouldn't.
  19. So what was the point of Shia telling her girl Maya that the way to Adam is to loosen up w/ his best friend? Isn't the rule here that whichever girl wins, the handler gets a big fat bonus? Shia can't seem to read a room at all, b/c what guy is going to want the girl who is the drunk party girl who ends up getting naked on camera and being all over his best friend. Shia should have reigned Maya in at some point but instead she let's her basically get sexually assaulted. I'm surprised Quinn didn't fire her ass over that just for plain stupidity. When Adam chose Maya, against his friends written choice of Anna, it made no sense to me at all. I can't figure out Adam's game here. Did his friend really choose Anna for the day long date, or did the producers choose her? Why was Faith nowhere at all in this episode, even in the background w/ the other girls?
  20. I forgot to mention the "pork chop soup" moment b/t whatever contestant that was (i can't remember any contestants names) and Giada where she grinned her out till she confessed that she never made it before then yelled out that "HA" when she caught her in her lie. Yes, she had never made "pork chop soup" before but so what, I mean she was thinking on her feet and made it work b/c everyone loved it. I don't see why Giada needed to prove she was lying about making it before. It wasn't that big a deal b/c she was confident about it going in and she sold it that it was one of her staples that she makes. I forget, but isn't that what they want the contestants to achieve, stand behind their cooking and sell it to the audience?
  21. That's true, but Penny never came off as batshit crazy like Matthew did imo. Has Matthew had any praise whatsoever from his appearances on the various competition shows? Everybody loves a villain on these shows, but nobody likes the person that comes off like he might snap and start strangling the other contestants...at least not on FN show.
  22. Wow, just watched the episode after not being spoiled at all. Ding dong the douche is gone! Does Matthew not realize that his behavior/attitude/demeanor on this show will follow him wherever he applies for jobs, so yeah...the likelihood he will be successful in this field is probably going to be limited. Kids today don't get it anymore...it's what I always remember Judge Milian from the People's Court says...."Say it forget it, write it regret it." Going on reality shows like this applies as well. I even read that interview posted upthread where he does damage control. That's exactly what that article was, a scripted damage control piece. He might as well say he was currently on medication at the time for an undiagnosed ADHD, but now he is. So who were the votes for in the elimination? I think we obviously know that Giada was for Sita, but was it Alex or Bobby as the second vote for Sita? To be honest I'm upset we didn't get to see Alton tear into Matthew as well as Bob and Susie.
  23. I felt the Judge wanted to rule in favor of Richard/PP but legally he couldn't, but while reviewing the contract he found this mistake and decided to use that as how to make the little guy the winner versus Hooli.
  24. So I guess they are turning Catherine into Meg from Family Guy. We get Selina having a great one on one quiet moment with her daughter reflecting on the election, but then as soon as that is over Selina makes sure we know that her moments with her daughter they are unbearable. Next, all hope is lost for Selina and who does she turn to, not her daughter who is right there but to Amy...basically the daughter she would rather have. I did love Amy realizing where she needed to be on election night. It felt natural her trying to connect with Selina. I loved that Selina just glossed over the hard truths that Amy told her when she left, and just wrote it off as she was unwell and never really held it against her. Those two have a deep connection, and I love it. Would Selina and group really have Bill Ericsson there on election night after throwing him under the bus? That seemed odd to me, but I know we had to have the wrap up telling us what is happening to him, plus the jokes about prison and wanting to get pardoned. So is that true? If there is a tie, the House/Senate determines the outcome and if no victor the VP-elect of the President is made President? That's....different. It seemed like Tom James knew this was going to happen in his favor...plus the fact they had the Selina/Tom discussing a Tom as President option, or not discussing in regards to Karen. Why in the hell did they bring Karen back? It was pointless in my opinion and just seemed to stress Amy out. I think JLD just got her Emmy win this season for that perfect rant about the voters of this great nation. It was awesome. So, what would have happened if Selina had conceded the election then we find out they tied?
  25. I thought that when they first cut to his wife even before Tina Fey came out, I was like wow she has a Tina Fey vibe going on. What as with Queen Latifah trying to sing "Tonight, You Belong to Me," that was just cringeworthy. If anything they should have just played that clip of Bernadette and Steve, or hell asked her to come and serenade Steve, and yes I am aware of their dating history. Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Martin Short, and of course Steve Martin stole the show. I was surprised that Chevy Chase wasn't there, so I guess he really is persona non grata at all these events due to his past behaviors. I loved the Diane Keaton "blow job" story told by Steve involving him, Diane, and Marty Short. It was great, as was Marty's "Steve turing tricks at Disneyland." I was also surprised that they didn't show clips from "Leap of Faith" nor from Steve accepting his honorary Oscar.
