No, it is most definitely not something we do. That is where the show lost me, when the club owners daughter started talking about downtown OKC. Downtown OKC is a very...how can I put this...white centric. In fact that is where Louie would have been put up and probably been playing, one of the clubs downtown...or on NW side of OKC. I know it's just a tv show, but I really wish a writer could do some research on the town if they aren't actually going to film there.

Well that was just depressing... I don't like when Louie does episodes like this, where it gets real and very depressing. The best parts were Louie snarking at the club manager and the subplot w/the old time photo and when he was trying to pass it off as an actual historic photo to Jane...and she buying every thing he said. As they were going to take the photo I thought of how much Louie looks like he could have been a general/soldier in the Civil War. I love Louie interacting w/ his daughters. His daughters are so precocious and cute, I wish we could get some of them in every episode, but then again I know this isn't that type of tv show. I wasn't sure if he was actually filming in OKC since I'm from there, but alas he did not. From what they shot though it could pass for Oklahoma, except for the flea-market part...all our flea-markets are indoors. The opener comic/condo-mate was a real piece. I couldn't believe he was going to take a shit in the toilet tank while Louie was throwing up. It still seems surreal that he ended up dead at the end of the episode.

You mean Mike Barker? If so, I mean the show went downhill after he left. McFarlane gave Barker a basic outline of what the show could be and Barker and Weitzman basically made the show what it has been, but now I believe both have left from a hands on role and the show is what we are getting now.

Did they ever really explain why the press started calling it the "Mommy Meyer" bill? Is it just b/c she is a woman and you associate women w/ a bill about families? It really pissed me off that they were raking Mike over the coals for the press giving the bill that name. It wasn't his fault and he tried to get the bill back on track. I love this show and will stick w/ it to the end, but Selina is really becoming a monster here. I know they are going somewhere w/ her treatment of her original staff and she will come around eventually but damn if it isn't hard to watch.

Well to be fair to Seth, all he does at this point is just voice characters on the show as well as get his creator/executive producer credit. I don't think he is involved in the writing of either show anymore. I'm not sure if he contributes any input to storylines/character development. He kind of reminds me of Ryan Murphy...creator of Glee/Popular/Nip-Tuck/American Horror Story...he sticks w/the show giving input and writing for a few seasons then gets bored, moves on to something fresh and shiny and the original goes down in flames. I'm not so sure...dismal, even fair ratings on TBS would be much better than if it was on FOX. FOX canned the show b/c it always has other shows it can bring in to replace it, whereas TBS doesn't have as much to choose from. Let's face it, TBS original series are really kind of crap. As long as the cast/crew of AD want to continue to churn out episodes I think TBS will let them. The only other example I can think of is Cougar Town that switched to TBS, and that show ran it's course plus I think the cast was all ready to move on.
-
Well...that happened. I guess w/that I can remove another show off my dvr list...that means no more Seth McFarlane shows on my watch list. It's funny, b/c even though the Simpsons has been on the air much, much longer at least their show is still watchable compared to FG and now American Dad. For AD I really think the factor was Mike Barker leaving the show. In all honesty I will watch next week, just so I can finish out the season...i'm OCD like that, but after that i'm done.

Season One Talk: Spring Baking Championship
CMH1981 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Spring Baking Championship [V]
That's my point though, I think he was just trying too hard. It felt very pandering to the judges in my opinion, maybe minus Lorraine though. His dessert was very mediocre based on what he has prepared in the past and compared to the pie he prepared earlier that day. I just find Damiano smug and I will be very upset if he wins this contest. I was glad when his gelato struck out during the pie challenge. I think it all has to do w/the producers who cut and paste the episode to fit the outgoing contestant. I'm guessing Duff wasn't overly critical of the contestants in this heat like Nancy and Lorraine had been. There have been plenty of episodes where it seems Duff and Lorraine speak more than Nancy. -

Wow, did Damiano shoot down Nancy's advances or something b/c she was totally against Damiano this episode. I really think Damiano tried to suck up w/ his red/white/blue dish but it backfired horribly...especially in decorating the plate. I think sucking up to the judges and going for schmaltzy never works....just look at how it worked for crybaby Juliana. Oh Simone...she should have just went w/the blueberries...she knows there is nothing that is blue-colored in baking unless you loose food coloring, so blueberries would have to work. I would think it is obvious in competitions like these, you never second guess yourself unless it just tastes horrible. -
I thought the Pizza and the dessert all looked gourmet. I'm guessing the White House chef did indeed prepare the food, which i'm sure Gary was in charge of making sure. If Kevin Dunn doesn't get some Emmy love this season i'm going to be pissed, he is bringing it as Ben w/ the one-liners left and right. I was really shocked that Mike didn't quit this episode, but I guess it would be too obvious if all her original staff...minus Sue and Gary were to leave. I doubt they would accept his resignation anyways. I loved Amy's realization that she misses the action at the WH compared to what she is doing now.

Snark Talk: Home, Home on the (De) Ranged
CMH1981 replied to film noire's topic in The Pioneer Woman
If anything I bet it's a product placement for the local Ford dealership they do business with. Obviously they can't name the actual dealership b/c that would be unethical, but by allowing the Ford logo prominently displayed in varying shots it probably works as an "under the table" type of agreement. If you give the world famous Drummond ranch a discount on Ford vehicles at your dealership we will have the Ford logo prominently displayed in my show and on my blog and people will know we buy all our Ford vehicles at your dealership b/c everyone knows what town the Drummond ranch is located in. I don't recall the kids ever really walking, they have had those golf cart vehicles since the show has been around and the girls have always been old enough to drive those, and now the boys are of age as well. I just dislike when I personally feel mislead about something like the location of the house to the ranch. It was the sleepover episode from years back where Ree made it sound like she had to stay at the lodge with the girls b/c it was in some remote location on the ranch. -

Are you freaking kidding me?! She makes it seem like the lodge is a few miles away from the house. It makes no sense now why the girls wouldn't just walk across the dirt road and up the hill during the "new puppy" episode when they were meeting their mother for lunch. It wasn't like it was snowing or raining or windy... Why didn't they just build a larger house/lodge combo on the property. What a freaking waste of money...but I guess if you got it to throw around after all... -
It looked like the males in the family didn't even touch those wedge salads...to be honest I wouldn't have either, she barely drizzled on any dressing on those wedges. Ugh, those burgers...I kept wondering how they would eat those burgers w/their hands...what a mess that would be, but then she said said it was a knife and fork type of burger.
-
So there must have been more of that food she made that we just didn't see to feed all those people right? I'm not a fan of pecans, but damn if I wouldn't have eaten that cheese/grape thingy. I thought the cream cheese / roquefort /cream mixture would be great on a pasta.

Please...knowing this show more bio-family will come out of the woodwork to try and stake claim to that child, or hell we will get a twist and find out that who we thought was the bio-mom actually wasn't and the real bio-mom will show up after seeing that what's-his-name was killed in the courtroom shoot-out. I think i'm out w/this show. I came in and started watching this show about 2 or 3 seasons before Stabler left the show and i've had enough. To be honest the main reason is how it is now the Mariska Hargitay show...I was really shocked that we didn't see her and her real-life husband's character hook up on the show...yet.

That's what i'm guessing, Barry actually did save his mother at one point but it messed up the timeline horribly, so in a divergent timeline where Barry is the Flash he stops his younger self from saving his mother in order to straighten out the timeline. Ugh....my head hurts.

I think what is so amusing to me is that Selina was vehemently opposed to Amy and her Tom James suggestion as VP b/c of her "encounter" w/him and now she has him in her corner and he doesn't recall or is being polite and not recalling the encounter. It's just a typical scenario for Selena, she looses one of her top staff due to something that she quite possibly recalls differently. This woman just can't win at all, lol So how would the party go about switching Selina and Tom James positions on the ticket? Is that something that is even possible? It seems like that is the way it is going to go down for Selina, being relegated back to the position of VP. I love seeing Tom James as this laid back charismatic person who just completely shines with his genuineness(?) compared to Selina. I understand Amy being pissed that she was labeled as unstable after leaving the team last week, but she seems like now she is more pissed that they haven't come crawling back to beg her to rejoin the team...just wait Amy, they will come.

So what was the point of sending Jeff away then bringing him back? I really wish that Jeff would have just stayed on his billion year journey trying to get back home. I'm really disappointed in this season. It seems like this show is becoming just as crappy as FG did years ago.

Yeah, but we know, and Louie knows that it was a bad idea, but b/c Pam is so fickle regarding their relationship, or lack thereof, he saw an open chance and he took it. He knew Pam texted for a reason since it seems they have had no contact since she ended the friendship/relationship, he saw an opening and knew how strange her proclivities were and decided to make the most of an awkward situation, hell even Pam got a chuckle after realizing what predicament he was in. I so want them to be together.

Great episode, any episode where his daughters are a part of the main story makes the episode even better. I loved when Lily flipped the whole lecture on Louie, that was great and such a teenager type thing to do. I was convinced we would find out she was actually texting her friends and she just read up about the play before they arrived to get some type of understanding on what she would be seeing. It was still disrespectful to the actors and others in the theater to not be paying 100% attention. Lily is such a great teenage character on tv, compared to other shows. So i'm guessing the play was created just for the show? If so...wow Glenn Close and John Lithgow. Michael Cera...still a horrible actor. Jane's sleepover, wow. So how many kids did Louie end up w/ at the house that night and why in the hell would have them come around noon for a sleepover, that's just insane especially in a NYC apt. I was concerned Louie thought two large pizza's was going to be enough for all those girls. We found out Pamela misses Louie, which is great b/c I love the two of them together. When Louie got the text, I was hoping he was going to invite her over to help out w/the girls, but instead he decides to turn it into phone sex that ends horribly, but of course Pam finds it hilarious that he is trying to do it while hosting a sleepover. So now that we know Pam is seeing someone else, do we think she was seeing this person during the time she was still seeing Louie and that's why she ended things? Loved seeing all the girls going crazy in the police station and them eating up Louie's brothers story...I knew it was going to be something lascivious in the end.
-
Wow, at first I just thought Bellamy Young was smart, but then she shifted into phrasing every answer into a question, like Alex said, doubting herself and that got annoying. So was her comment/sound on every answer she didn't ring in on or after she got the answer wrong done just to psyche the other contestants...plus when she didn't know an answer she then looked or pointed at the other contestants like "you take it." Either she was f-ing annoying or she knows how to play the game and psyche others out.

S03.E22: Before You Go Make Sure You Know
CMH1981 replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Nashville [V]
Yeah, and I have a feeling we will find out that Bev made out a will before she went under and part of the stipulation if she dies under the knife is that Deacon can't be w/ Rayna since she gave her life for her brother. It would be an act of betrayal. That seems like the next logical soapy plot for this storyline right? Then we can have what, a few months where Deacon avoids Rayna b/c of the guilt he feels and having to honor his dead sisters wishes. I just can't w/ Juliette anymore, she was my favorite part of this show and this show has actually succeeded in having me detest her character. The fact she went to Jeff, instead of straight to Luke just makes me sick to my stomach. After all the crap he put her through and she goes back to him? Seriously?! Then she still couldn't care less about the baby. Gunnar and Scarlett...let's see what is the best storyline for next season to keep those two apart. I'm guessing they hookup that night after Scarlett learns about her mother's death and then they both dump each other's respective partner and decide to give it another shot, but uh oh...Scarlett is pregnant, but who is the baby daddy? Gunnar or the doctor?! This show...I think i'm about done w/ it. -
It may be out of character but I can totally see Selina inviting Amy into the oval office for a private conversation, asking her all stoic and proud like she is going to rip her a new one for those comments, and then when the door shuts Selina breaks down and begs Amy to come back. Of course Selina will have to ask Amy to pretend that she begged for her old position back to save face.
-
Add Emmy winner as well for Anna Chlumsky, that was some grade A acting there. I watched that takedown of Selina scene so many times. You could tell she was upset that she was actually having to say what everyone, well almost everyone, in the room thinks regarding Selina's political career. She spoke the truth that Selina has achieved nothing and in this universe will more than likely make it so that no other woman would ever be elected POTUS. Amy was all ready to walk away at that point, then Selina made her little snide comment that made Amy go for the jugular. It was a heartbreaking yet very much a hell yeah moment.

I loved how we were subjected to watching Ree lather up and wash her hands after handling the lobster. I mean it wasn't just that we were told she was going to wash her hands off camera...they actually made us watch her turn the water on in the sink, pour soap into her hands, lather up, and wash...I mean seriously? Were they running short of time this episode? If nothing else just show us more of the puppies...b/c puppies!

Season One Talk: Spring Baking Championship
CMH1981 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Spring Baking Championship [V]
I have to admit that all these baker's are bringing it, well except for Juliana but she is gone now so oh well. I really can't stand Fabiano...er Damiano, he is so full of himself here and I really want him to crash and burn. I loved how pissed he was when Juliana called him Fabiano, you could tell he was serious when he told her to not do it again. In the first challenge it was so funny how Damiano is sitting there drinking his cup of coffee b/c he is so ahead in the challenge, yet he was cutting it down to the last second trying to finish everything and plate. Idiot. I'm a Nancy Fuller fan, but her hormones for Damiano is so glaringly obvious that you can tell he could burn his food and she would still say he is perfect. It really makes me dislike her that she shills for him so much on this show. It's also how obvious how much Nancy dislikes Duff. I'm surprised we don't see Giada lurking in the backgrounds here spying on Damiano. I wouldn't be surprised to see him show up on FNS so she can drool over him in person. I just dislike Damiano w/ each episode. Simone though...she really upped her game this round, I think she will take home the prize...or the guy that usually wins b/c he bakes w/bacon, lard, and butter.
