  1. I'd probably get as far as putting some ice cream in a bowl and pouring on the magic shell.
  2. According to Wiki it is still available :"Viennetta is sparsely available in the United States. However, Unilever no longer produces the brand in Canada. It is sold in Australia under the Streets brand." I recall my dad buying this once or twice while out grocery shopping, I remember liking it but who knows what I'd think now if i were to find one.
  3. Thanks guys for your thoughtful answers. I was on TWoP for 13 years, snarking is not new to me. I watched Sandra Lee in her various incarnations for many years until it became to much even for snark value and I wondered because Ree wasn't as offensive to me. That's why I asked. I watch PBS every Saturday morning or record to watch later. Aquarius mentioned she would watch almost anyone in the kitchen and I do too. On PBS there is a show called New Scandinavian Cooking and the current chef sometimes cooks outside on moss covered rocks. It's crazy to me but I enjoy watching it even though I'm never making or eating anything she's made. I've read everyone's complaints about Ree being this or that and I honestly wondered why people were watching. Anyway, ladies, thanks for answering my questions.
  4. You guys, this is a serious question. No snark, not being a smartass about it. Why do you watch this show? I feel like you hate it, you can't stand her and hate her recipes but every single week you watch and then come here to complain about what you've just watched. She doesn't bother as much as she does a lot of people here, her inability to say potato and tomato bug but I find her inoffensive. I'm not asking in a if you hate it don't watch it way I'm honestly asking why you are compelled to watch? Is it hate-watching? Snark value?
  5. Bye! I honestly won't miss him. His time with Winston is funny but they haven't known what to do with I'm since they brought him back.
  6. I have one of these and I love that thing! I haven't used my regular oven in the 3 months since I've had it.
  7. Hmm, interesting. Thanks for the info.
  8. Irlandesa is that for sure?
  9. This might just go back to the thing about the songwriters guild. Adele is credited on all the songs she writes as Adele Adkins and maybe any song that Cher writes she is only credited as Cher. I think I recall her being nominated at both the Globes and Oscars as lyrics by Adele Adkins, performed by Adele.
  10. Adele's name is Adele Adkins, what stage name? I'm pretty sure that John Legend is credited on all his songs as John Stephens (his real name) in the Songwriter's Guild (or whatever it's called). I recall his being nominated for Grammy's and he is credited as John Stephens.
  11. M is for Marguerite who was apparently some sort of voodoo priestess or something.
  12. This is my mother. My dad has been doing the grocery shopping for the entire 46 years they've been married. She hates it. My dad makes the grocery list and cuts the coupons. The only reason my mom sets foot in the grocery store now is because my grandma, her mom, sometimes needs my mom to go shopping with her but if she can get me to do it she will. I have no idea where this hatred for grocery shopping came from. I think it's hilarious to hate something so mundane.
  13. Oh Boy. I'm not for or against Mary but Paula is so rambly and incoherent.
  14. She has pulled the glasses down from time to time but for the most part they stay on top of her head. She also has a ton of them because sometimes they match an outfit, i can recall them in: purple/black/white/lime green and orange. Why do I remember this? I don't know.
  15. He's in it. He doesn't have a profile or anything, his head is on a page with other people from Scotland.
  16. Oh man! I forgot all about those. But I loved them. There was a caramel pecan one and a vanilla chocolate chunk, that I enjoyed. I don't even know when they went off the market so I suppose I didn't miss them that much but I really enjoyed them. I enjoyed Clearly Canadian but I don't think I want my own case. A case is 12 bottles for $29.99, if it was in the stores would I pay $2.50 for it? I don't know.
  17. Upthread someone mentioned Clearly Canadian which I loved, and it made me remember another drink i loved in the 80s early 90s New York Seltzer, it might have been called Original New York Seltzer, i remember drinking the orange one a lot and that the bottles were actually glass and not plastic.
  18. Ha! The crazy thing is, to my knowledge, we never even tasted the stuff. My dad was like, I'm not buying that ice cream it costs too much! I have no idea how much it cost but I remembered that package and crazy name like I ate it all the time.
  19. Are you thinking of Betty Crocker Warm Delights? They still make those if that’s what you mean. Someone up thread mentioned Frusen Glädjé. My brother, parents and I are the only people we know that remember Frusen Glädjé. Everyone looks at us like we’re crazy. My brother and I recall the commercial like we’d seen it on TV last night.
  20. Paolo Nutini is amazing. I saw him here 8 years ago when his first CD came out and while his second CD was only sort of good, his new CD is amazing. I've heard Paolo talk many times and he loves to mumble and his accent his thick so a lot of time you're like, what the hell are saying Paolo? But his voice is amazing.
  21. Claire doesn't have any family and she's said so. Her parents are dead and she had no siblings, just her Uncle Lamb who is also dead. As for friends, I suppose she could, but when we met her she had just gotten out of service and presumably those woman she served with went back home and she moved on to Scotland to rekindle her relationship with Frank. I think this is only partially true, her name really is Claire Beauchamp, she's just left the Randall part out. I understand what you're saying about her relationships in that time being a lie... but she can still tell people or even just Jamie and then she is no longer lying.

  23. . Nah, we live in the same town. But I suppose this just doesn't bother me. As for being miffed about flying out, I wouldn't be mad because at least I got to visit with my sister (for what may be the last time) however estranged we may be. But I totally get where everyone is coming from on the subject.
  24. Wouldn't she be tested by Virgina's doctors? I'm sure they could have sent all the criteria that Blanche needed to meet but wouldn't it make more sense for her testing to be done wherever Virgina was? Once I was going to do be a donor for a family friend whose baby was sick because I had the same blood type and something else that I shared with the baby, they wanted me to come to that persons doctor to be tested, not go to my doctor and have the results forwarded. It's been a while but I thought it seemed like Blanche was donating out of obligation and assumed as her sister she would be a match.
  25. I just looked at the preview/trailer thing and Mysteries looks awful to me. I can see both the Leoni show and the Heigl show making it the season. Madame Secretary is on CBS and I think CBS/CBS viewers would like this kind of show and it doesn't look that terrible to me. I thought I read that State of Affairs tested well or something. Or maybe it played really well at the Upfronts in the spring? I don't know something like that. Whether people watch is another story, I suppose.
