  1. I think the reason Nicole talks to herself is that there are no other actors in this story anywhere near AZ's level. If she was talking to someone else, they couldn't keep up!
  2. The reason for the Australian quarantine is to keep rabies from reaching Australia (which is rabies free). They have a related disease, Australian Bat Lyssavirus, in flying foxes, but it doesn't seem to have spread to terrestrial mammals. Keeping Australia rabies free is much more important than Johnny Depp missing his dogs. It's not the policy that's the problem, it's the way the Agriculture Minister spoke to the press.
  3. When John was first introduced, everyone (including John) thought he was Roman, thanks to Stefano's brainwashing. So he worked as "Roman Brady" of the Salem PD. Later, it was discovered that he wasn't. John Black had been Stefano's pawn -- he was a fake priest and international jewel thief, working with Princess Gina (Hope's doppleganger). Then he became "Roman." Only later did he become the John Black of today. We still don't know who he really is. For a while, he was Forrest Alamein, then he was a DiMiera, but after the last retcon, he's just John Black again.
  4. Not really. If Mike was telling the truth, Shirin would vote for Tyler, but Mike would vote for someone else. If everyone in the "solid six" not named Dan discussed this, and two of them voted for Dan, that would mean Dan would be voted out. If Mike is LYING, and votes for Tyler (as he did), it would be a tie, and Dan would be voted out on the revote. If Mike is totally bluffing (as he was), Shirin goes home. Tyler was never in any danger of being voted out.
  5. Absolutely. And even if Mike DIDN'T think Will was hiding anything, it was good game play to try to sow dissention among the "final four" suballiance. And it was entirely in Tyler's interest to play it up in order to isolate Mike and cement his alliance with Will and the others.
  6. Exactly! As much as I detest Rodney (along with Dan, Will and Mike), he's playing a great game.
  7. There is no such thing as a NON-retconable way to die on Days. Jack "died" and had his organs harvested, and he still came back from the dead!
  8. Jenn and Hali seem really tight. Joe is in the alliance with them, but I think they're both too smart to want to go to the final three with him. They probably can't beat him for individual immunity, and they'd be hard pressed to beat him on jury votes. Shirin, OTOH, is not good at challenges and not popular. I'm sure Jenn realizes this. Shirin should make it to the final three if the "No Collars + Shirin" alliance controls things.
  9. Greendale's classes were not cancelled! Although they (almost) gave a bachelor's degree to a dog. COMMUNITY is back on Yahoo Screen, with Dan Harmon as showrunner.
  10. But Mike doesn't know that Kelly was not in danger. As the only former Blue Collar on the other tribe, she could very well be in danger. He doesn't know what's going on over there, so he was right to try to protect her since she's his closest ally.
  11. So we're supposed to believe that Ben is getting help with CALCULUS from Abigail? Neither one of them is smart enough to pass a calc course, and Abigail would have had no reason to study it in the first place. Wasn't she a journalism or art history major or something? Definitely humanities, not science. I have no idea what Ben's major is supposed to be...
  12. No one should stay at the Salem Inn. The bellboys spy on you and the front desk apparently gives out your room number to any random stalker who asks. There's no way Jenn should have known which room Roxanne was in. Or, for that matter, which hotel -- if there's more than one in Salem! Jenn really should be in jail. First, she plans on breaking and entering, but gets lucky and stumbles upon Eve and JJ while trespassing. So her reaction is attempted murder. As for Chad and Abigail, I never got the impression that he wants her back. Rather, he's setting her up in some elaborate revenge plot for sleeping with his brother.
  13. This Ted thing really doesn't make much sense. First, his accusations weren't particularly newsworthy. I see no reason why a local tv news reporter would be interested in charges of plagerism against a medical reporter. Second, Serena admitted that she and Ted WERE working together on the story before he went off his meds, tried to get in her pants, and she had him fired. So he SHOULD have gotten credit when the final story came out. Third, Nicole is smart enough to have investigated Ted BEFORE hacking into Serena's computer. And, finally, Nicole didn't have enough time (or a large enough thumb drive) to copy "all" the files from Serena's laptop. And I don't think there WOULD have been evidence of this. When I copy a file, the properties don't change. It's only if I OPEN the file that the date changes!
  14. I guess it's "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." Both hate the DiMearas. And Rafe worked with Victor's son, Bo. That's all I've got. I don't remember too many scenes of the two of them interacting before.
  15. I'm not saying Nicole is a victim. But Serena (and Eric) told Nicole off several times already. Nicole "apologized" and agreed to leave them alone. If Serena wants Nicole to leave her alone, she should cross the street to avoid any further contact. Keep poking the bear and it WILL bite you!
  16. If Serena doesn't want Nicole digging into her past, perhaps she shouldn't antagonize her for no reason! And why would she keep the beefcake photos in her safe? It's not like it's a secret that she's hot for Eric.
  17. AFAICT, her only female friend is the coworker who keeps blabbing her secrets. Brady, Rafe, and Dr. Tan are her only other friends. Perhaps they should bring back crazy Ava; they were fun together!
  18. Drunk Brady was a lot more fun. And he buried Vivian alive! Sober Brady is just depressing.
  19. I recommend you read the book or see the movie first, cause if you read this spoiler it really will ruin it for you. But if you're SURE you want to be spoiled HUGE SPOILER for GONE GIRL:
  20. Going into the final, I think Natalie has it just about sewn up. Her next move should be to vote out Keith, who's the only person who MIGHT be able to beat her at the final tribal council (although it's doubtful) and who's clearly the biggest individual immunity (II) threat. She can likely beat any of the other women for II at final four, and could probably convince Missy and Baylor that they should stick with her over Keith/Jacqueline. She will play her idol at the next tribal council if she doesn't win II. If Keith wins, Jax is voted out. I don't see any way Jax could convince M/B to vote for Nat. Nat can spin that Jax has Jon's jury vote, and he can advocate for her with the other jurors. (Not that he's likely to be successful in this, but Nat can convince Keith of this easily, and M/B seem to have a final three allianc with her anyway.) The same is true if Jax wins. M/B/N will vote Keith out, so it doesn't matter who Jax votes for.
  21. It just occured to me that Aiden's story is GONE GIRL. If you haven't seen the movie or read the book, I won't say any more. If you have, you'll know what I'm talking about.
  22. I'm not sure Natale made such a bad move, but it would have been better if she convinced Jon that Alec was a bigger threat than Keith (perhaps 'cause he was flirting with Jaclyn and Baylor?). She wanted to keep Keith because he's more likely to beat Jon for individual immunity, and he's an extra vote (although getting him to keep his mouth shut at tribal is a crap shoot). They'll have to blindside Jon and this is less likely to happen now. Taking out Jaclyn would have been a mistake, IMO. Jon would KNOW everyone is gunning for him, and be REALLY pissed off to boot. And he could allign with Keith/Alec to force a tie, just to spite Missy/Baylor/Natalie. So I think her only possible moves were to go along with Jon and vote Keith, or do what she did and vote Alec. I still think she can finnesse this by fluffing Jon's ego next episode, but it will take more work on her part. And I think Jon/Jaclyn will be suspicious of her and, if he doesn't win immunity, he'll play his idol. Let's say Keith wins immunity. I think their best play would be to let Jon think they're targeting him, but really vote out Jaclyn. Even tell Keith that they're voting for Jon. Then Missy/Baylor/Natalie vote Jaclyn. Keith votes Jon. It doesn't matter who Jon and Jaclyn vote for (Natalie most likely). Jon plays the idol, Jaclyn goes home. Same thing if Natalie/Baylor/Missy win immunity, but then they can tell Jon/Jaclyn that Keith is the obvious target, while they tell Keith that Jon is the target and all vote for Jaclyn. If Jon wins immunity, I think they'll have to sacrifice Keith. I don't think they could blindside Jaclyn in this scenario (although it would be beautiful to see). If Jaclyn wins immunity, they could TRY to blindside Jon, but I think he'd play the idol, so they're back to targeting Keith and flushing the idol.
  23. I was diagnosed with celiac disease back in 1998. You have to be eating gluten before the test for it to be accurate, so you might really be celiac. An earlier poster mentioned vinegar as a problem. It's not, except for malt and (possibly) flavored vinegars. The distillation process removes any grain proteins, even if the original source contained gluten. The same is true for most alcoholic beverages, except beer, which is not distilled, and is made from barley, so it's not gluten free. The Delphi on line celiac support group has lots of recipes (and other information about gluten free diets): http://forums.delphiforums.com/celiac/start/
  24. I've been diagnosed with celiac disease since 1998. I ALWAYS call ahead to the restaurant to tell them I'll need a gluten free meal (and choose restaurants that I know can accomodate me). But that wasn't the point here. It was part of the Top Chef challenge. So Emmy didn't let them know ahead of time, and had to pick from the prix fixe menu. So it wasn't that she was ordering ala carte, and ALL the menus had a pasta course. The chefs might have had to adjust the other two courses as well (which wasn't discussed -- I guess none of them dredged anything in flour or thickened any sauces with flour), but they all HAD to alter the pasta course. Risotto and polenta (and gluten free pasta) are obvious alternatives. The zuccini ribbons were very clever. Dumping the filling from your ravioli into a bowl with sauce, not so much. I'm a little disappointed that they didn't talk about cross-contamination issues in the kitchen, but given the time constraints of the show, I can't say I'm surprised.
  25. Because he's trying to hook up with Jordan and wants to look like a "good guy" to her?
