Yeah, I think the creative team is head and shoulders above a lot of the other series on the CW and the younger versions of John and Mary, as played by Amy Gumenick and Matt Cohen were very popular within the fandom so the casting of those characters will be key; and from what we've heard of them so far, the supporting cast sounds very intriguing too. I'm especially interested in meeting John's mother. And I further think that there's great interest within the still thriving SPN fandom in keeping the SPN universe alive and well. And let's not forget who will be narrating. 😉

If I were a betting person, I'd bet the ranch that it does-especially with the creative team behind it; and also taking into consideration everything else that's gone to series and even been renewed on the CW.

Hubs and I just finished up the most recent season of The Servant, which we liked a lot; and we're fans of most of his stuff(he is quirky and anyone would be hard-pressed to top his early work), so I would love to see Jensen work with him. He looked So. HAWT!! at the Indy con. I do think he's out growing the Creation cons, though. I understand why he does them-easy and fun money, most of the time, for sure and the fans still flock to them(which is no small part of why, IMO; he's always been so appreciative of the Supernatural fandom and all they've ever done for both the show and everyone associated with it-in fact, I believe that this is most likely his biggest reason for continuing to do them). The content and Creation's way of running things is just so old and moldy(especially for the fans who simply cannot attend them in person and have to rely on SM for any news or new info), at this point-and mainly because the questions from the audience are so old and moldy, too. I do so wish Creation would change things in numerous ways. Honestly, it wouldn't be that hard. But until then, I never get tired of seeing how Jensen has grown, and continues to grow, since Supernatural ended. I'm really feeling the excitement for the prequel now, too, and after the announcements of the casting. Hoping with all mt heart that the cinematography will be more like early SPN, but that's for another thread.

Oh, now this is what a Teaser should be. LOVED! the ending especially.

Belated birthday wishes to The One and Only Jensen Ackles who gave us The Irrepressible Dean Winchester(as I read on twitter yesterday via one of the studio accounts, I think). Thank you so much for the gift of Dean to us, Sir. Can't wait for his next role. I'm counting down the days I also read someone's opinion that every year, Jensen's birthday is by far the best day of the year on twitter. Sure, it's subjective, but I couldn't agree more. So much love for him out there yesterday and I do believe that his fanbase has already increased sizably since Supernatural ended. His time is coming. You can feel it. So glad for him. 🥰

Many in the fandom believe that Castiel created a whole new reality when he wiped Lisa's and Ben's memories, and there's canon and precedence for AUs everywhere, throughout the series, but especially and most specifically as it pertains to that scenario in My Heart Will Go On.

I honestly feel as if Dabb pretty much rendered any kind of canon a complete joke with his Chuck the Bad Writer nonsense/storyline(?). And now we're seeing why, much to the chagrin of those who just want to hate the prequel, sight unseen, for whatever their reasons. And just to put things into a bit more perspective-I thought that the premise of Supernatural sounded absolutely ridiculous and like nothing I would ever be interested in, not in a million years. So I have to echo those who think that it's going to come down to the actual writing of each episode(and I couldn't give a fig about any writers' physical appearance/gender/race/whatever-not in all honesty because good writing is good writing to me, that's all-no matter who or where it comes from). And while Thompson became very hit or miss to me on the mothership(and yes again, mainly because of his OTT writing of his Charlie Sue), he did give us some better than well written episodes at times also, IMO. But I honestly feel that, like almost all CW shows, it's going to come down to the casting of the actors and their ability to somehow make the writing work, that will make or break the series. And in that, I don't think there is anyone from this show that I would trust more than Jensen Ackles to understand that concept and, as such, no one I could or would trust more to make anything even remotely attached to the mothership, work, in any way at all. I'm excited for him and this project and feel very optimistic that with him as an EP chances are much better for success than if anyone else had tried to do the same thing. And I mean anyone, even and including Kripke.

I'm crazy in love with his hair, too-the "rogue" locks, especially!-and I'm not even much of a fan of long hair on guys. But, as I just saw somewhere else, those oh so soft-looking locks literally gleam in the lights, too. Jensen, himself, said at one of the earlier more recent cons-"Who's the Hair Guy now?" 😉

Yes, that's the Hansel and Gretel episode. Can't recall the name of it.

Growth spurts can happen any time. My son played baseball all through high school with a kid who was always the smallest on the team even until graduation. He recently ran into him(both in their late twenties now) and he's over 6 ft tall! And I found teen Dean in this episode to be the weakest actor that they ever came up with to fill the role of a YoungerDean. He lacked all of the nuance that Jensen constantly put into the character in order to soften the writing of Dean, IMO. The kid in Bad Boys and the episode with Hansel and Gretel was the best YoungDean, IMO.

Thank you, CASSEIOPEIA. I remember when this one came out, too. It has become Iconic for the show, the actor and his character and one of the best photos that we've ever been gifted with over the entire 15 years of the show's run, AFAIC.

This was also my very first "whoa" moment concerning Dean. And, not surprisingly, it was also my very first look at the character ever. Found this very scene while channel surfing one May night in 2006 and I was lost for good to both character and actor from this point on. Soooooooooooo! many emotions and feelings vibrating off both character and actor in this scene. This was one of the two scenes within Devil's Trap that truly defined Dean for me, for all time. He was The Most Fearsome Hunter that this show has ever given us, IMO, and that was never more obvious to me than in this early scene from the show. Jensen was exquisite in walking the line between CaringHuman and RelentlessHunter in this scene. And then the cabin scene gave us another side of Dean-the main caregiver in his little family-the character, who alone, was the only one who could battle all of those darker impulses that he'd been taught from chlidhood to carry around as a Hunter of Evil. And thus was born the big question of whether Dean was a born or bred Hunter of Evil(even though we know that he saw himself as both). The Dabb years really tried to shit on this wonderful story element, but I won't let him. I still wonder about that and my favorite "Whoa" scene in that regard comes from S3 and Bloodlust. I can't do pics or links, but the scene where Dean beheads the vampire with the chain saw still gives me chills every time I see it-Dean's innate innocence peeks out, underneath that blood-spattered face, and this even after that ever horrific and violent act/moment. One couldn't help but really wonder about Nature vs Nurture through scenes like this one and I loved, loved, LOVED! how it all happened so organically through Jensen's performance there.

I'm afraid that you are most definitely going to be spoiled for many of the following books in this thread. That said, after watching the first three episodes, I'm all in. Not really enamoured with Rand or Moiraine at all, but then again, I never was while reading the books either. Perrin and Egwene weren't favorites either, but I like them both much better here. It didn't bother me all that much that Perrin was married, and his killing his wife accidentally shocked me, but seemed realistically fitting under the circumstances. I realize that much will have to be changed to adapt these books and Moraine's on the nose explanation about the taverene was likely part and parcel of more of what's to come in that regard, but we also got the song about Manatheran and the story of the old blood which still runs deep in the two rivers which was pretty awesome. The separations at Shadar Logoth left out Mordeth, but I still found that pretty well done. I hated what they did to Matt's family, but his story is one of my favorites along with Lan's and I'm still looking so forward to those two storylines. I loved what they did with Liandrin and the menace of the red ajah at the beginning, and the whitecloaks, too. And the trollocs too, of course! So yeah, I'm all in for this, in spite of the many differences from the books that are inevitable in an endeavour of this size and scope.

They're all over him. And he's a very polarizing celebrity because of his Trump impression. I'm sure there are no few out there who hate him and are all over this and couldn't care less that a life was lost except for how it can possibly be used to discredit him. Makes Dean's "Demons, I get. People are crazy" quote seem more like a real statement of our times than just a scripted line from a little horror show.

That's a big "If" in this day and age of "reporting". I've read so many conflicting reports that I don't know how they will ever get to the bottom of things, tbh. One of the actors who was supposedly a part of that main cast tweeted early on that he was only 30 feet away from it when the shooting happened.

The concern doesn't spring from any lack of knowledge or ability on his part to run the set. It springs from the emotional toll it could take on him(or anyone for that matter)to work on a set where guns will once again play a large part and have a definite presence therein, so very soon after seeing a human life-and that of a respected colleague's, if not a friend's quite yet-extinguished horrifically by a gun. This sums up my feelings also. And feeling concern and sympathy for someone's(again anyone's really) emotional state who has gone through or seen what Jensen has a scant week and a half ago is hardly what I would call questioning whether he's a "grown as* man" or not, but we all see things differently, I suppose; and sometimes very differently.

Yes, all of this for me, too. And I especially and truly hope that JP will have addressed the cast and crew beforehand As for myself, I too, am very worried for him both with this director's thing and with the upcoming con. It's so soon, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if we and the folks who work on Walker didn't get a bit of a more closed off version of Jensen than most are accustomed to-and I hope if that does happen that he won't be roasted for it by the usual suspects because with this often boundaries ignorant fandom, you just never can tell.

This is what I saw last time I checked, but nothing official has been released as far as I know, and of course speculation of any sort and click bait articles are running rampant on social media as per the usual making such a sad and tragic event even worse/sadder and disheartening as all get out for everyone, but especially for those directly involved and affected. I don't know or understand what goes through the minds of anyone who could or would try to take or make some sort of "advantage" out of a situation as sad and awful as this. It's messed up.

This. So much. And I'm hoping that Jensen will be too busy to do so many of them, too. I've watched his whole solo panel and some of the Gold and while he was as wonderful and gracious as ever in them-and even with some who didn't deserve it at all-I'm also more than ready for him to do some promo work for The Boys at this point. I've been loving the bits we've been getting of his interactions with that cast. And his Karl Urban story at this one only made me want and wish for more of those; and now we have Rust, too. At this point, I think any hate he gets is eventually drowned out by all the Love from his own fandom(which is substantial now and much more than just and only made up of the SPN "family" 🙄) and, IMO, sadly, it's often the cons that encourage and keep the hate alive and kicking at all.
