  1. IA. I'm waiting patiently for the reveal of what happened between Beau and his brother. He told Jenny that all relationships should be a two-way street-even blood-especially blood. So we know that it was probably a one way type of thing and likely in the same way that it seems like Jenny and her mom's has always been. And maybe as a policeman, he might have had to kill his brother in order to save others. Hence the grief counseling consideration when he first arrived in town in the S2 finale.
  2. I've only watched once and I need to watch again, but I'm just crazy about this season. I'm loving Beau and Jenny-or Harlen as I've seen it named. They Rock My World, quite honestly. Love them. So much. And I don't care what she wears and I LOVE! what he wears and I don't care that a lot of it all is unrealistic-all these characters just do it for me and I think that's the main reason that I keep coming back and why I can't wait for the next episode. I guess Cormac IS in the dark about his half-brother. I guess... Avery remains enigmatic, but not in a good way... Carla should trust her initial feelings. Tonya and Donno FTW! I also LOLed at Cassie searching for clues in the dark of the night in the spooky woods and then seeing the suburban on fire and at Beau not catching the baddie as he ran away from the bank(because I know that Jensen Ackles was going at 3/4 speed-or less!-there), while still appreciating the smarts they gave him, through the same writing, during the motorcycle chase. Walter and Paige feels like something strange this way comes to me. 😳 Can't wait til next week.
  3. Both of these aspects were more Sam-like to me, tbh. I think Dean is more difficult to capture because Jensen's stamp on the character is very, very difficult to match/emulate, if not impossible; so the writing is that much more important for Meg's character, IMO-which makes it a good thing that the writing so far has been decent for all the characters. I DO feel that John is being written much more sympathetically than Mary, however, as he is the one of the two leads(likely in the writers' eyes, at least) who needed more softening in order to become more sympathetic to the viewers, both old and new.
  4. Yes, these are the awesome visuals that these 2 young actors bring to their roles, IMO; but when John said that he liked the punching part of hunting better than the talking part, that was All Dean to me, while Mary so uncomfortable in her dress was a call back to early season Dean in that first suit he had to wear. Jensen said that the casting of John and Mary were of paramount importance to making this show work. And he was right. That they've struck pay dirt with the side characters too can only help with their hopes for another season order.
  5. Yes, this was the parallel that resonated the most with me from this episode. It was more subtle than others, but I was reminded of the exact same scene from the exact same episode, Bergamot. And the extreme youthfulness of all the characters was obvious and apparent to me too. They are still teenagers, albeit hunters, too, so their parental issues would be pretty fresh and raw and ready to be dealt with head-on at this stage of their lives. This episode was chock full of parallels, but for me the one mentioned in the quote and the awesome hunt and, of course, the music were the highlights. Still liking all the characters, with this episode an especially good one for Mary and Latika, even with John and his mom/dad issues being more seemingly front and center. I love when Carlos calls Mary "Mare". Teach Your Children was perfect for the ending, but The Age of Aquarius brought to light the great bond between all of them. Loved that. So much. Episode 2 rocked. Can't wait for next week's episode.
  6. Carla told Beau that he(Avery) could get too "focused*-which seems to be what's happening with him as regards whatever he was looking for in Paige and Luke's tent(the money they took?) since he's now encouraged Emily to keep digging when she was apparently ready to stop if he had just told her to. I'm wondering who he's working for more than anything else. Still lots of secrets being kept at the camp. And sorry Cassie, but I don't trust Cormac either.
  7. Yes. This. The dad told them it was Scott from his hospital bed.
  8. It was so good! I loved it. And IA that things are moving along at a good pace. Still lots of questions that need answers, but that's ok considering we're not even a third of the way through the season yet. And yes, the case of the week was darker and creepier than ever before and it's getting darker and creepier out there in the woods too. Looking so forward to next week's episode.
  9. Oh my... I haven't been able to watch yet, but this post and that scene have me chomping at the bit now. I'd heard/read that there was another heat-filled, loaded scene involving Jenny and Beau at the end and Hot Damn!, I say. I was going to wait until tonight, but I think I'm just going to watch it right now. To hell with the grocery shopping after this...🙃 Thank you, Tessa. 😘
  10. Not gonna lie. I would love this so much. I've always been of the opinion that Dean Winchester would never be happy unless he was somehow, and in some way, saving people and hunting things, in that order. And that shouldn't change even after he dies and goes to Heaven, again IMO. So this post fits in every way to me and it even fits with what Jensen said about the SPN fandom understanding better why Sam can't be a part of things for the time being.
  11. I genuinely like all the characters. That might be a first for me. And I'm just gonna say it-I love both John and Mary, but especially John. And Latika, too. The cinematography was beautiful and, yes, very old school. The music was great. The pacing was a welcome surprise, too. Perhaps a little rushed at times, but never slow, something that plagued the mothership too often in it's latter seasons, IMO. The double monster fight at the end was terrific and hearing Dean at the beginning was only topped by seeing and hearing him at the end, with my last thought being, where is he? This is going to be a fun show.
  12. S3 continues to entertain me in these and so many other ways, too. Beau and Jenny as a married couple FTW! Denise out of the office and into the woods, too. And look at that, Jenny's mom running straight to Tonya with the money she stole from the Helena PD? To be continued... Meanwhile, Sunny and her strange woodlands family just keep getting stranger and stranger, not to mention half of the glampers too. So much love for Emily's attachment to her dad and the things he gave her, both innately and materially. 🥰
  13. I'm so relieved that it appears that they are not going to go with the bratty teenager thing with Beau's daughter. That scene with Beau and Emily and Avery was awesome. I really liked the interaction between all three of them. The father and daughter stuff was too cute and felt Real to me. And Avery sure is doing a fine job fooling everyone, I think. I honestly don't want him to be a baddie, but leaving Emily alone in the woods was an even bigger indicator of that than his snooping around in the annoying couple's tent was, IMO. And speaking of that annoying couple, twe now know that there's more to them than met the eye, at first. Glad for that because I was ready to write them off as the worst part of this season. At least now we know that they're as sketchy as anyone at the camp, including Walter, who I can't help feeling is a red herring, too, and as someone else here mentioned already. The big mystery is definitely deepening. I also loved all that sleuthing around in the house by Beau when he and Jenny went after the fake FBI gal. That man knows how to move, doesn't he? 😉 Nice banter and chemistry again between Cassie and Beau on their hike up the mountain trail, but my money is still on Beau and Jenny for any romantic fireworks. As I mentioned earlier, that scene of her concern for his well-being in the house while they were separated was so very loaded and I loved it. Loved all the side characters again too. They all just do it for me-Tonya and her little sly smiles, Donno and his "distractions", and Denise's adorable nickname for the adorable new sheriff. And then we had another last scene of our three amigos together again, but this time with the added weight of what's happening to Emily and the undelivered phone call from her worried dad. I do love having a little show to look this forward to every week again, so big thanks to Big Sky for that. 🙃
  14. My anticipation for this show increases daily, at this point. I can't wait. And those pics of Dean made me misty-eyed again for the first time since Supernatural ended. He looks so good. I don't care what the time frame is for his appearance, tbh. For me, just to see him again and hear his voice again, even for a few minutes, will be enough. It really is a great interview. Thanks! 👏
  15. Oh, and yes! Loving the side mysteries, too!
  16. IA! Things are ramping up already! I really liked this one too. And Jenny's little "Beau..." when he was on his own in the house(and kicking in the door! a la another character played by Mr. Ackles and whom we know and love oh so well)showed just how much she's come to care for the new sheriff already. Loved that. So much. The Supernatural easter eggs were abundant in this one. Loved that too. Again, more when RL allows...
  17. I had been wanting to watch this show for a while when I learned that Kathryn Winnick was one of the leads. I loved her so much as Lagertha on Vikings. Still, I never did get around to watching it until Jensen Ackles became a part of the cast, and I must confess that I still haven't watched the first two seasons and likely never will. That said, I do think that the writing of the S3 premiere was a little tighter, and as such, superior to the writing of the S2 finale. But I have a feeling that I won't be watching this show for the writing. The show is very character driven, IMO, and I can go with that if the premiere was any indication of where things are headed for the rest of the season. The best description I've read of Jensen Ackles' acting is that he would have chemistry with a cactus. I've also always believed that he is often somehow a catalyst for encouraging others to up their games while acting with/opposite him. I'm looking forward to his interactions with both Jenny and Cassie. The three of them together at the ends of both the premiere and the S2 finale were Gold, and I think that the showrunner gets it. Not sure if they will go love interest with either one of them, but if so, I'd guess Jenny, as Sunny's son seemed to have an eye for Cassie. But even if they just keep them all friends, I'd still be happy as a clam. Hoping that Beau's daughter is not written as annoying and bratty. So over that trope. I loved Henry Ian Cusick in Lost. So glad he's in this season. Also love Jamie-Lynn Sigler. I might always see her as Meadow Soprano, but then again, maybe not after this show. Love that Tonya and Donno are working together at the restaurant, and hopefully still up to no good. And then there's Reba. I admit that I'm going to have a hard time seeing her as a baddie because I love her so much, but we'll see about that. I'm most curious about how Beau is going to react if his daughter goes missing. I love the whole glamping thing. Absolutely love it. Very much looking forward to episode 2.
  18. I loved the premiere and love so many of the actors on it, both new and old. Not a lot of time now, but I'll be back with a more detailed take as soon as I can. Real life does sometimes get in the way of things, doesn't it? 🥴
  19. I thought he might have talked about it a long while ago at another con or something. Not absolutely certain of that, though. Still, it for sure wouldn't be the first time he's retold a story to a con audience and that poster sure does look like it and it's Amazing, IMO; so kudos to whomever came up with it. :-)
  20. I read that article and I honestly think that they just took it at face value. My feeling is that it's more likely a line between John and his mother. Just a guess, though.
  21. Yes, this is how I would see it too AND it's still a familial story, which keeps Dean in character-because it wasn't always just and only Sam that motivated Dean, IMO; to me it was family, first and foremost, for Dean. The dysfunction was a negative outgrowth of that love and if we could do away with that in at least the prequel, I'll take it and always hope that it would continue if there's ever a reboot so that we could get a Dean who loves himself as much as his family and wants more for himself and not just for his family. That would be down the road, though, but as Tessa says here, it could be yet another start towards that if Dean has found something to sink his teeth into in Heaven that didn't involve pining for Sam, first and foremost-which yes, I too had hoped with all hope that we'd been heading for until, yes, Dabb doubled down on it once again(but notice-only for Dean through that ridiculous self-negating speech that he gave to Sam in that equally ridiculous series finale). The new beginning of any growth for Dean could actually be seen again with his attention being more focused on perhaps a matter that might have affected his entire family, through John and Mary's beginning, and not strictly and only on Sam and Sam's future this time around. So that's what I'm hoping(and I'm hoping Jensen sees it this way also) that we'll get with The Winchesters. The original tagline was quoted in this latest promo-saving people, hunting things-so that is what I personally think Jensen is going to go for as the main motivating factor in the prequel-less Sam, Sam, Sam, but still with hunting as the true Winchester legacy-which I've always, always loved about Dean, from the very beginning, and more than anything else, tbh. Six weeks more and we'll have at least some answers.
  22. Your first paragraph makes total sense to me and, hopefully, we will never, ever, ever have to see that kid for that very reason, but the only way I can see the Dean we were given at the end of the series as being ok w/o Sam by his side is if he feels that Sam is truly happy somewhere else because I DO feel that that part of the dysfunctional brotherly relationship was obliterated with the finale that we got, and this, even as crappy as the execution of it was. And honestly?-I hope Jensen feels the same so that this becomes less of a thing if they wind up going forward with anything else SPN related-which, again, honestly?-I'm still not interested in yet, unless it's to undo Dabb's crappy ending w/o bringing an appearance by Sam's offspring into it. I would absolutely loathe that above all things and in all honesty.
  23. I honestly hope that it doesn't become All About Sam again and some more, one more time which is why I'm fine with Dean thinking Sam is living the life he wanted on earth. If he later learns that Sam wasn't actually that happy without his brother by his side-fine-but that would likely be the start of another story, not the story of John and Mary before the Pilot-which is what The Winchesters is about and that it has little to do with Sam only adds to the appeal for me, tbh.
  24. I expect he is in Heaven and he finds out something there which makes him want to learn more about his parents past and which also makes sense to me since I would never in a million years imagine Dean Winchester just/simply "driving around" or "visiting" people from his past for long. And Sam's not with him because Sam is living his life on earth, just as Dean hoped and wanted and wished for him at the end. I'm completely okay with that scenario and I'll love, love, LOVE! it even if we get to see just snippets of him, here and there, in Heaven. As for that voice over, that could be inserted out of anywhere, tbh, and doesn't even have to have been said to Dean. They've done that many times in the past with the mothership's promos. I'm even more excited to see The Winchesters now and get some of the answers to just these questions, not to mention so many others. They have set the stage extremely well, IMO, and it does appear that no few out there are at least curious about this show. And the weather is not all sunshine and rainbows which works for me also because it will never make sense to me that Dean's Heaven would be that way. He said it once upon a time ago-helping people is his "peace", so another "hunt" while he was apparently "waiting" for Sam to get to Heaven would fit Dean's character much better to me than the complete non-story for him that we got from Andre Badd at the end of things.
  25. I've been seeing it since the finale aired. He rivals Homelander as the most popular character on the show now, even in just that guest starring role and with the much more limited writing. But I'm not surprised in the least, in all honesty. 😉
