  1. I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but the contrast in Jill's chubby face and her son's very lean face is so sickening. And his skinny little chest..... An 18-year-old male should be broadening out, not withering away. I wonder what the kid's body fat % is. And bone mass index.
  2. I haven't watched this show in several seasons, but I was hoping someone would comment on the series finale, which happened tonight. I recorded it and plan to watch later, to view the end to this mess. If anyone is still out there.....come back to discuss the series finale!
  3. Oh, man, I think Fern is a terrible name. And uninspired. I used to work with a woman named Fleur (flower in French). I wish Jessa had consulted with me if she wanted a plant-based, short girl's name that starts with F. 😕 Fern? Just no, no, no.
  4. Unless Jessa had a baby on her lap. Then all bets are off.
  5. That's funny, I'd choose Jessa as a seatmate for a plane ride. Not because she seems more likeable, but because I think she'd be more quiet and reserved, which is what I consider the best seatmate!
  6. Brought over from the Jessa thread. My family is from Alabama. Most of my dad's side still lives there. He has a sister who they all call Sister. And all my cousins call her "Auntie Sister." My siblings and I (who live in Michigan) call her Auntie "First Name." Now, I'm on a roll. My dad was called "Boy" by his family until the day he died at age 66! 😀 And my southern cousins called him Uncle Boy. Nicknames are funny.
  7. I agree, Katey's dress had nice movement to it. It definitely looks better in the video. I hate to admit it, but that was a nice video, very well-done. At least the first 3-4 minutes. I skipped the rest because it was still just a dumb fundie wedding.
  8. I don't have any daughters, but I call my nieces, friends (and even sisters!) sis or sister sometimes. For me it's a term of endearment.
  9. I see what you did there, @Quilt Fairy. 🙂
  10. Both Ivy's and Spurgeon's sandals look too small.
  11. Audrey is looking rough in her return to SM.
  12. I am very close to my 15-year-old great-niece. We have many discussions about all types of subjects and we often agree, but not always. If she ever "sweetly" agreed with me, I would know it was lip service and appeasement. We each think through what the other has said, offer input, and come to our own conclusions. Shocker. Jill is so dumb that she doesn't understand that sweetly agreeing just means nodding, smiling, and parroting back what Mama just said so as not to feel the wrath of Mama. I hate Jill.

Plus a 3rd set bagel. Oof.
  14. Yes. Either Jill's kids are performing on command (which Sam Does. Not. Ever. Do. In my opinion. 😀 He usually looks sullen or confused), or Jessa's boys (who do seem capable of performing on command) are very unhappy and/or leery of the strangers from the production crew....or of something. Edit to add, I'm only referring to the picture posted earlier at their lunch with the former crew, not to the kids in general. Except for Sam, who never seems to have a lot of f's to give, IMO.
  15. I never did finish Big Love. I watched during its original run, but got rid of HBO before the show ended. Maybe I'll do a rewatch. I kind of lost interest when Nicky's extreme family became prominent in the storyline. But I am now sort of fascinated with fundies and their lifestyles, so I think Nicky's family will be more interesting to me.
  16. I thought the same thing. And shouldn't she have been salty with Trent about that, and not the kids, since he was a part of her scavenger hunt team? She really does just seem so joyless.
  17. @ChiCricket, I just wanted to add my condolences. It doesn't sound like you could have predicted this confrontation. Please don't beat yourself up about it.
  18. One of my sweet childhood memories is of my Auntie Honey (as sweet as her nickname implies) making Micky Mouse-shaped pancakes for my cousins and me for breakfast. That was over 40 years ago. She was obviously ahead of her time.🙂
  19. I honestly thought all the kids looked rough, Rods and non-Rods. That parade was all kinds of sad and pathetic. And why was there a "fat lady" (Jill's description) and a clown in the parade? What kind of 4th of July parades are they used to??? Also, someone identified a kid in a white wig and white beard as Abraham Lincoln. That's SODRT at it's finest, I'd say.
  20. I forgot to add, I love all things Grey Gardens (the original documentary, the Drew Barrymore/Jessica Lange movie, and the updated doc that focused on Jerry, their handyman.) I also read Jerry's book, The Marble Faun of Grey Gardens, which was so pretty good.
  21. Scarlett, how is your back doing? Are you good as new, I hope?
  22. When I was a kid my dad would occasionally give me a small cup of regular Maxwell House instant coffee (no harm done), with sugar. I'd dunk buttered toast in it. Delicious!

I'm watching Kyrgios and Venus play doubles. Every single comment Nick makes sends the crowd into fits of giggles. He just said "I can't serve today mate" and the crowd cracked up. What am I missing? Is the crowd just so giddy from being there, live and in-person, free from masks? It's as annoying as an overdone laugh track on a sitcom.
