  1. My guess is that Busey has no idea who the pros are, so couldn't possibly have made a partner request. I also guess that Busey may not have any idea what show he signed up for, or on what planet. His agent probably told him it was DWTS and Busey thought that meant Drinking With The Spaniards. This is so disappointing.
  2. Two episodes in and the show has already killed three persons of color: Cal, Matt, and principal Artie. Uh oh.
  3. YAY for well and truly dead Juliette. That's enough to get me to give the next season a try anyway. Fantastic news about the stupid royals taking a break this season. But...Adalind will have *two* babies now, right? The teasers only mention Adalind and the baby (singular).
  4. Google fu says that it's fashion designer Andrea Iyamah, from her retro swimwear line.
  5. At this point anything's possible, so you could be right. And I think that's a problem, one that's reflective of poor writing and direction for the show. Usually when I've seen cliff hangers in a finale episode, they don't end with the (presumed) death of a main character showing them dead dead with a bunch of arrows going all the way through them. They leave a little ambiguity...like the character has been shot a single time and it's not inconceivable that the wound may not be fatal. Or, they don't show a (presumably dead) character's severed head in a box. If the writers wanted this to be a cliff hanger, they didn't leave any trace of the ambiguity that would build anticipation for the next season's resolution. It seems the writing/directing is very poorly done, whether deliberate misdirection is intended, or if it's not.
  6. It may be that she was directed to act those scenes in the way she did because the plot/writing was so murky in those storylines. Even after the end of the finale, I see viewers speculating as to whether or not Juliette is really truly dead, and whether or not Nick's mom is really truly dead. Some viewers are still asking if Truble, Juliette and Ma Grimm are all involved in some covert op together. Personally, I'm not sure if Juliette is really truly dead, so I can see where these kinds of questions are still being asked. I chalk that up to shitty writing of muddy storylines. If your Grand Finale Episode leaves viewers asking if the on-screen death of one of the main characters was real or not, something's wrong. I can't blame Toboni's acting for that. I have enjoyed her character most of the time, but would like to see her acting improve. Then again, I've always said that about David Giuntoli as well, though I do see him getting better.
  7. What's really pissing me off is that I want to celebrate the death of Juliette and the possibility of redemption for the show. But I can't because we don't know if she's dead dead. Dead Juliette, the return of Nick as a Grimm to be reckoned with, the winding down of the stupid Royal family, Truble as a recurring character again, it's so much of what I wanted. I should be a happy fan. But now I can't be happy because stupid Juliette is probably still alive. I'll keep checking back for spoiler confirmation, but if Juliette isn't really truly dead, I'm out.
  8. Boy, am I glad you asked these questions. This is my first season watching Blacklist, but I have read all over this forum trying to find out if the answers to any of your questions have already been made clear, because I have every one of the same questions you've asked. But there appears to be no answer to any of them! Do we even know that the man Lizzie shot was her father? Couldn't he have been some guy there to kill her mother? Assuming that even was her mother? Do we know that the man she shot (whether or not her actual bio father) is even dead? Shot doesn't necessarily mean dead. Could the man she shot even have been Reddington, since we never saw anything but his vague shape? Which brings me back to the question it seems like no one has answered yet: Is Reddington Lizzie's father? I have no idea. The memory recall scenes were so visually fuzzy and muddled, it wasn't even clear to me if the fire started before or after Lizzie shot that guy. I'm even confused about the identity of Lizzie's mother. Is she a Russian double agent? Was she pretending to be a Russian agent, but was really a CIA or US black ops agent? So, was she a villain or a hero? Is she dead, or alive? After watching all of this season the only thing I believe we (the audience) are supposed to know at this point is that Lizzie shot some guy who was roughing up a lady that was presumably Lizzie's mother. Lizzie's mother is presumably Russian (though who she was actually working for is unclear). The guy she shot may or may not be her father, and he may or may not have been fatally shot. What the nature of Reddington's actual relationship is to Lizzie (if any), I don't think we know any more than we did from the very first episode of this series. If that's true, and these same questions have been going on since the beginning of season 1, I'm not sure I'm up for more of this frustration.
  9. That doesn't sound good. I hope Derek has a speedy and complete recovery. As for this week's episode of DWTS...hated it. The themes absolutely need to go; they're a big part of what's killing the show. Other than Riker (who was waaay overscored), I thought all the contestants turned in their worst performances of the last several weeks. Every single one of them. I would like to see Noah go home next week; he's overdue. Whatever positive point he and/or the producers of DWTS were trying to make by having him as a contestant, it was made weeks ago, and now it's just embarrassing. I'd expect to see Robert go home next week too, which makes me a little sad 'cuz I like Robert. Chris is wholly unlikable to me, but I have to admit he's shown a bit of improvement the last two weeks, whereas Robert appears to be regressing. It really looked like the rythm exercises Allison had Chris doing all week were quite helpful. I wish Kym would do that for Robert this week, because ouch. I've rarely seen someone so far off the beat as Robert can be while remaining blissfully unaware of it. Mark needs to costume Willow in a long skirt every week, regardless of dance style. When her legs are showing, her technical issues are so distracting I almost don't notice her dancing. When her legs are covered I truly do enjoy her dancing. Mark's choreography this season has been so refreshing and fitting for his partner. Rumer seems a little stuck in her growth arc. I don't know if it's that she's peaked in terms of her capabilities, or if Val's teaching is at fault. In either case, it makes me a little sad because she's my favorite. Nastia bores the everloving crap outta me. There's little I can specifically fault about her dancing (other than her seeming complete lack of personality), but I never remember any of her performances by the end of the show. I'm enjoying Riker more than I expected to even though his dancing continues to be so desperate and manic looking. At least it looks like he's giving his best every week and bringing a SHOW, which is why I watch DWTS. Finally, show, get rid of the extra dancers during the contestant performances, get rid of the Big Productions, bring back more ballroom, and replace Erin Andrews. The End.
  10. Stupid show is stupid. I can't be bothered to watch it live anymore. Now Juliette will have sex with Renard and she will get preggers. Then someone will figure out how to undo Juliette's hexenbiest thingy, but during the reversal of the spell, she will briefly transform through being Adalind, then back to normal non-biesty Juliette. Because of the brief time spent transitioning, they won't know if the babies of the two preggers women also changed places. Now, is Juliette preggers with Nick's baby, and Adalind preggers with Renard's baby? Do you care? Since the women won't know which of them has whose baby, they will decide not to kill each other. THIS I do care about, because I want them to kill each other, the sooner the better. Nick, the Grimm, has been effectively neutered by Juliette, rendering him ineffectual, weak, and unattractive as he continues to wallow in his manpain and family drama week after week. The show's writers have almost managed to make Monrosalee completely boring and useless as well. Yet another new royal. This show either needs a serious re-boot, or it needs to be cancelled. At this point, I'm almost beyond caring which it is.
  11. I agree with all your comments, including that I'm not a big fan of Mark's on the show. That being said, I've never seen anyone whose insights and attitude I've enjoyed as much as Mark's on the Afterbuzz show. More of this, please!
  12. Oooo. If by Backstrom's math it's off by two years, is Valentine lying about his age? Or?
  13. He totally ignored Nick and Tyanna as well
  14. Is it Monday yet? Love this show, and I can't wat!
  15. I'm close to being outta here. For certain I'll stop watching the show live, and if it doesn't make a FAST course correction, I'll tune out altogether. This isn't the show I signed up for. I hate soap operas, I hate baby mama drama, I don't like the Juliet character, and there's nothing the show can do to make her more interesting to me. Put her in a coma, give her amnesia, make her mope around about Nick boinking Adalind, make her a hexenbiest...I don't care! The harder they try, the more I dislike this show. This has become so much like what happened to Sleepy Hollow, I can't believe it.
  16. Thanks for those. I want to see Backstrom's dream board!
  17. So much this. If DWTS didn't deliver those amazing performances, I wouldn't be nearly the fan that I am. Even the most controversial "ringers", such as Meryl, have been able to show improvement over the course of the season. Whenever I see one come out of the starting gate as strong as Meryl or Alfonso, I get excited to see what they're going to be capable of at the finish line. Barring injuries along the way, I'm rarely disappointed by the "ringers". It's rare that a contestant with almost zero dance background ends up delivering performances that leave me cheering -- Kellie Pickler and Brooke Burke were two. But, if I had to wait several years between seeing contestants like those, I wouldn't be a happy camper.
  18. Those are some tantalizing hints from Giuntoli, for sure. I just hope the writers don't make the Nick/Juliette relationship the main storyline for the next five episodes. And, I hope they don't kill this show by going all soap opera drama like the Sleepy Hollow writers did to that show. I like the idea of Monroe and Rosalee going undercover to solve a case. Best of all, I love knowing that Teresa and Kelly are coming back, especially Kelly! It would be cool to see Mastrantonio stick around awhile. It would be even better if Kelly dropped off Adalind's baby somewhere and we don't have to see the baby mama drama occupy very much time going into the finale.
  19. I wouldn't begin to speculate about the substance abuse or infidelity issues of someone who's a total stranger to me. However, I would observe, based on my own experience, that the one who initiates a divorce is usually not the one who's contemplating suicide. I know Robert took up running, and eventually competing in marathons, as a way to cope with his mother's terminal cancer a few years ago. He credits running as having gotten him through that very difficult period. I hope his decision to be on DWTS at this time will prove as helpful.
  20. I loved Val and Rumer. Can't wait to see what they do next! Charlotte can get off my TV now. That was embarrassing, and I hope she's first to go. Robert Herjavec has always been a favorite of mine. I thought Erin Andrews post-dance interview with him was condescending and borderline offensive. First was her comment that "The viewers want to see you humbled..." Excuse me, Erin, not everyone was lucky enough to be born into as much privilege as you were with your well-known 6-time Emmy Award winning journalist father. I daresay Robert is much more intimate with humility than you've ever had reason to be. He was born in the communist-occupied former Yugoslavia, where his father had been imprisoned for speaking out against the government. His family fled the country with only a single suitcase between them, their only possession when they arrived in Nova Scotia, where they lived in a friend's basement. Robert worked to support his family in a variety of minimum wage jobs. He put himself through college by working as a waiter. He got his first job in the tech industry by offering to work for them for FREE for six months, since he was unqualified for the job. Robert is the classic rags to riches story of an emigrant working his ass off and succeeding against all odds. Then when Robert said, "There's nothing a 50-year-old man likes better than being compared to a 14-year-old boy!", Erin stuck her nose up in the air and, voice dripping with condescension, and said "It was meant as a compliment." As though Robert was too stupid to understand that obvious fact, and needed you to explain it to him? He had already taken it as a compliment that he was genuinely flattered by, you dummy! Grrrr. I don't know if Erin has always been this obnoxious and I just never noticed it, or if she has a personal problem with Robert Herjavec. In either case, she needs to step back.
