  1. Hold on, hold on, go to commercial.
  2. This is the one reality show that I can enjoy watching. I truly enjoyed watching Bill and his dad. I can see why it wouldn't be for everyone.
  3. I don't follow them on Facebook. If they're idolized, that's extreme. On the other hand, I don't see them as being just like the rest of us in the sense their stories of great accomplishment (especially Jen) in the face of serious disabilities are extraordinary.
  4. At first I found my attention wavering. I thought, "Do I need Meghan to keep me interested?" Then it occurred to me that if they adjusted to no Meghan screaming and interrupting, they would go more deeply into a subject, actually share shades of perspective. And that would raise my genuine interest. They might have discussed Avenatti in more depth, for example.
  5. I was feeling some of the ennui with MB reboot until this week. I loved ever minute. every character. Give me more Murphy Brown, please.
  6. Literally anyone. She interrupted everybody. Today was the first time I literally yelled at her while fixing lunch (and scared Mister Butterfly who was contemplatively watching MSNBC.
  7. The debate with Geraldo (and entire discussion) was an excellent watch.
  8. I actually think some of the bright blouses with dark skirts (not too tightly fit) are the best for her barrel body, even when they are high waisted right under her boobs. YMMV
  9. Are we seeing her bra straps?
  10. I believe this is the reason MM had trouble calling up tears. She didn't want to hear how supportive they all were.
  11. I hope Joy does have pull. She deserves it.
  12. A display of old china pieces and crocks is so attractive to me. Maybe too much pinterest? And speaking of pinterest, I had a mishmash of old bone chine (mostly grandmother's) and then I bought more at garage sales. Now I have enough to serve 40 people. I do the mix-match way of pinterest with old table cloths as well. All of them are worth almost nothing so if I get tired of them, they are gone. We serve some large family meals at the Butterfly place.
  13. The McConnell equivalency to this wide act of terrorism is repugnant thinking, but I do think MM was instructed. And, you must be from Indiana, too.
  14. I am curious whether the same would apply if a group of men on a talk show criticized another man. Do people feel men shouldn't criticize one another?
  15. Originally this is what I expected the show to be. Boy did I misjudged the publicity. But I wouldn't have had the fun of snarking with you guys.
  16. I am so disappointed. Candace Bergen can do funny so well, but we're not seeing it. She's best when she does self-deprecating physical stuff in the midst of being "serious." I haven't seen the other actors so recently. The "Avery" concept is excellent, but the writing misses more often than it hits. Humanizing SHS is a good idea, really. It can add substance to a comedy about the Washington press. I'm saying this as a liberal who wants humor in serious times.
  17. The main line churches seem to require at least one graduate degree. MButterfly and I are both retired UM pastors and that is true for us. It is so hard for me to understand how one preaches with authority or counsels with appropriate skills without education.
  18. Nothing against Abby, but actually trying to debate Whoopi sounds like a trip Through the Looking Glass.
  19. She's been a bit puffy (or fluffy) for a while. I loved it. I remembered the Dan Quayle days, and it gave me hope. Days like today will pass. We can laugh, and laugh I did. I love the Easter eggs.
  20. Of course he can have nice things. But should he become one of the most powerful men in the U.S. for the rest of his life?
  21. Abby's statement on that irritates me too. What does the flag stand for? When you say the Pledge you are telling yourself. No mention of military at all.
  22. These words really hit me. It is virtually impossible to be "transparent" in your personal anguish.
  23. The UMC debate is over ordination of gay people and pastoring a same-sex wedding. Many, many churches are welcoming, inclusive congregations that do perform marriages and a great number of clergy (including bishops) have come out. A great percentage of clergy are pushing for complete support of gay marriage and ordination. Both my husband I are retired UM clergy, and are pro-full inclusion.
