Star Trek: Enterprise - General Discussion
FormerMod-a1 replied to Meushell's topic in Star Trek: Enterprise
I agree with all this. I had such high hopes. That's part of what I thought made some of the TOS movies so good. TNG had been on for a while so there was an established future to build to, with many changes from TOS series. I thought they could do the same with this show. But they went off on all these other stories and species never seen before. There were some things like showing the dangers of playing with time, and they did have the whale-species. I did still end up enjoying this series, for the most part, but it wasn't what I hoped. -
You Know You're Obsessed With Criminal Minds When...
FormerMod-a1 replied to mstaken's topic in Fun & Games
When you get offended when someone calls it "just another procedural". -
That seems awfully inefficient. I do think there is more to the story though. If all the Machine wanted was to neutralize the POI, than it would have sent Root, I'd think. I think it sent Team Finch for some other reason and it should come together in the remaining eps.
-
I just wonder why the Machine didn't send Root to kill the Senator. If that is indeed what the Machine wanted. We know she'll kill on command.

Another example of not-so-good-guest-behavior and Graham handling it well was the one with Micky Rourke and Jessica Biel and ??? (someone else). MR was very being very crude with JB (I think he thought he was being flirty). After a while Graham asked JB "Are you sure you don't want me to ask about your boyfriend?" She was dating Justin Timberlake and was asked not to talk about him and focus on her and her work, of course, in the pre-show interview. But since it got so uncomfortable he just slipped that in there. She kind of laughed it off. I think there was more to it that impressed me, but I'm not sure.

Dr. Alana Bloom: This is Kind of All Her Fault
FormerMod-a1 replied to Lisin's topic in Hannibal [V]
Yeah, she has been right about a number of things, but this one I'm not so sure of. Yes, Will did end up with issues, but that was because of the encephalitis and because of Hannibal manipulating him. It had nothing to do with Jack and the cases. -
I'm not sure what the one dude expect the Sheriff to do since Caleb literally disappeared. What exactly can he do? And even if he wanted the sheriff to work day and night, the guy would need some caffeine to keep going. I loved that someone at the church pointed out that his cousin (the one that Caleb killed) was no angel. Thank you! I kept trying to figure out how this was some nefarious thing. It's not like he cheated on his wife or anything. But the rest of the church doesn't know that (yet). And speaking of Rachel and Tom and everything. I did like how Tom's wife was questioning how God could bring Rachel and the others back while denying her and Tom a child. But I didn't like the end where she was all concerned that Tom was still in love with her. It's not like it was a normal break or anything and he was still pining after her. Rachel came back from the dead! 12 years later! And she's pregnant. Give him a moment to process.

That is one of my all time favorite TV clips too.

One of the CSI guys mentioned that he'd [Chilton] been eating steaks off of Gideon (paraphrase), so they think he's a cannibal.

Came across this week's AV Club Walkthrough (minorly spoilery), in particular I love the bit about how Hannibal sneaks around so much. It doesn't answer everything, but it helps... And I can't wait for this .

Stargate Universe - General Discussion
FormerMod-a1 replied to TVSpectator's topic in Stargate Universe
I started this General Discussion thread and moved a couple of posts here. Discuss the show itself here. Also feel free to start character threads or season threads, or what have you. -
Another thing I loved, how Will so calmly walked away when Chilton had a gun pointed at him, with that wry little "You're no murderer..." I am loving in control and owning it Will. I'm hoping the following things are discussed and/or uncovered to make the FBI realize Chilton could not be the Ripper. Some have already been mentioned, I'm just consolidating for my own benefit. He can't digest animal protein. This should be confirm-able via autopsy. Does he have human traces in his stool? How did Miriam survive while he was in the hospital after the Gideon encounter Is he even physically able to do any of what we saw in his house. Again, his physical limitations are confirm-able. Just because he was moving around better this episode doesn't mean he could be physically fit enough to do all that was done in his house, or with any of the other recent murders. Check out his whereabouts during all the murders. Just because he's been involved in the case the longest doesn't mean he wasn't out of state, or at a conference, or out of the country, etc during some of those times.

I am so mad they killed Chilton. I'll take my ticket to hell for saying this, but I was so hoping if someone were to die it would be Miriam. When she finds out she killed an innocent man, oh I'll feel so bad for her. And I know Alana has known Hannibal for a long time, and I know she doesn't know what we know, but she is still annoying me to no end. She's just so willing to believe the worst about everyone else. gah! I *loved* Will gently letting her have it about believing he was a murderer, and everything else he said (wish I could remember it all). I didn't expect her to be friends again since he did try to have Hannibal killed, but if she had even acknowledged that she was SO WRONG about believing Will was a murderer before. I'll feel bad for her too, when she finally does know. On a more positive note, I can't wait to see what Will's got up his sleeve here. Going back to Hannibal for "therapy". Will had nearly figured it all out when his brain was on fire and now he's well. This is going to be good. Here's hoping the Ripper strikes again soon How many times can the FBI be wrong, with good reason of course, before they question what looks like solid evidence again.

I actually loved this episode. And I felt bad for Adalind at the end. But I gotta pat myself on my back - I called it that Mamma Grimm would end up with the baby. The only thing I didn't like about next week's preview was the whole "They call be trouble" thing. Really?

S10.E05: Michael Weatherly
FormerMod-a1 replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Loved this episode. Newsflash is one of my favorites! Not usually a big fan of helping hands, but I liked this one. I loved how Michael Weatherly initially got into it - the hair and unbuttoning the shirt. I do wish he had talked (replied) more, but I loved that he was laughing along. I think I liked this one because it wasn't all throwing food and goo everywhere. Enjoyed all the other games too, of course - Scenes from a Hat, Irish Drinking Song... -
The place for all things Hoarders-media-related. Articles about the show, the organizers, the therapists... Here is a great interview with Matt. I am especially intrigued by this snippet (emphasis mine). But right now I'm not seeing any other mention of this. But I often fail at Google-fu.

The Twelfth Doctor: Let's Not Argue About Numbers
FormerMod-a1 replied to sevans623's topic in Doctor Who
The only thing I don't like about the costume in the pants seem sloppy or ill-fitted or something. -
A place to discuss particular episodes, arcs and moments from the show's run. Please remember this isn't a complete catch-all topic -- check out the forum for character topics and other places for show-related talk I have moved some posts here that were in Small Talk. Small Talk is for non-show related conversations. Socializing. That kind of thing.

Here are some of my favorite quotes across the seasons. I know there are plenty more. So much is in the delivery, but I can hear them in my head, with character voice, as if I just watched them. I Adam: Yes, well, that's all very interesting...and useless at trial Lennie: My idea of fusion is hamburger meets French fries. Claire: We can't arrest him. Jack: I'm a DA. I can arrest anybody I want. CSI: "Last time we sifted a dumpster, the Investigating Officer got in here himself." Briscoe: "That's facinating. I think you missed a spot over there." TV Anchor: Police are close to an arrest. Lennie: We are? That's great! And my favorite - Jack to Danielle Melnick "Who the hell cares what you think anyway!"

A Thread for All Seasons: OUaT Across All Realms
FormerMod-a1 replied to stealinghome's topic in Once Upon A Time
I wouldn't call Season 2 a disaster, but it definitely wasn't as good as Season 1 or 3 (so far). There are elements and story lines in all seasons that I really liked. But also some character "changes" and focus on some characters that I could have done without. -
I normally don't like slow paced stuff, to the point that the shows I like the most many people complain about moving to fast and not seeing more fall-out. But this one I like for some reason. The slowness doesn't bother me.

Some of my favorites.

I was wondering this too. Is the baby Tom's? My initial reaction was it was not, and that's why she killed herself. She didn't feel she was good enough for him. As for Caleb disappearing. I wonder if the returned are actually there to give the living some kind of closure? So since Elizabeth had her epiphany or because she told her dad exactly how she felt, or something, he was free to go. Which made me worry for Jacob - if his dad can get some level of acceptance or closure will Jacob disappear again too? Of course, if Caleb returns again all bets are off. But he wasn't looking to good, like maybe he was reliving the heart attack or something.

Reading this thread reminding me of more of mine. Lost UOs I never thought Daniel and Charlotte was some great love story. He had a crush on her, she tolerated him. She started softening, but by no means returned the affection, and she died. Big whoop. I hated the triangle, but not because I had a side I was rooting for. In whichever couple, they seemed worse for it. I hated how Kate acted with Jack, I hated how Sawyer acted with Kate, etc. In fact I wish they had ditched the romance angle all together and just had them find a way to learn to work together and respect each other. I wanted the Smoke Monster/Esau to win. I never believed a thing Jacob said, and that goes double for Mother. Even the in universe explanations rang false to me. That all said, I did really enjoy Lost overall. Buffy UOs I hated Faith, Druscilla and Darla. I could understand having them once or twice, but they just kept brining them back. I also hated the Buffy/Angel romance. I thought it was gross. He's 100s of years old, if not 1000+ years old and he's in love with a teenager!?! I know she's special and all, but gross. (I feel the same about Rose and the Doctor).
