Wow, I was actually right in predicting the winner. That never happens.

I prefer this to the "My question is you suck..." speeches.

So people really think swearing on anything during Survivor is real? That it's some offense to whatever they are swearing on, that the hand of god will come down and smite them for swearing on and then reneging, in this game? That this is some kind of enforceable oath? Gah! and this is why I shouldn't watch the jury portion...
-
I always end up being annoyed by the jury "questions" part so why am I watching now? I should just pause for a while and then ffwd.

I thought it was going to be a one-off follow-up show and if it did well the potential for more shows. But according to Geralin's FB status, it looks like there will be several shows off the bat. All follow-ups.

A place to discuss particular episodes, arcs and moments from the show's run. Please remember this isn't a complete catch-all topic -- check out the forum for character topics, current episode topics and other places for show-related talk. Also, if you have a witty or apt subtitle, post it here and I'll change this title.

If I can hear the breathe issues, they are bad. And I hear them with every song Grimmie sings. If she has to sing more than 3 words in a row, the last one always either trails off or gets cut short. I can hear her take breaths in the middle of words. It's just not good. She seemed to have the best breath control on Can't Help Falling In Love, but she made it *so* draggy. I still can't figure out how she made it this far, even with her Youtube fans. But since she's my least favorite, she'll probably win. I also thought Adam sounded better than Gimmie in their duet. Liked the Usher and Adam song well enough. It's not a song I love, in general, but they sounded good. I liked the Blake and Shakira song. She started off a little shaky, but came around pretty quickly. I think I'll download this one. I also liked the Blake and Jake duet, but more for Blake. Jake just isn't that good either. I'm surprised he lasted this long. But what do I know, I didn't like Scotty McCreery either (from Idol) and he seems to be doing well enough. That leaves Josh, who is obviously my favorite, but that wasn't a good performance to end on. It wasn't horrible, but he's done much better.

Poppy Field Movies: Once Is Not Enough!
FormerMod-a1 replied to BizBuzz's topic in Everything Else About Movies
As I stated in the other thread, I agree on Remember the Titans. Such a good movie and it doesn't matter what I'm doing, if I come across it on TV I just sit down and watch. Now some people might put this in the other category, but Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country would fall into this category for me too. I hardly ever quote movies, nor remember lines from them (my brain just doesn't work that way), but I will quote this one. My brother was the first in the family to see it and he said it was one of the greatest movies ever made. Even as a Trekker I thought it was hyperbole. It probably is, but not by much. -
I've been wondering about all the clean up that needed to be done at Hannibal's and Will's places. There's at least one body at Hannibal's and blood from the thigh injury, and WIll's is where the face pealing and eating happened - I would imagine blood there too. Plus moving Mason w/o killing him. Was Jack in on that too? Will called and said "Hey, don't look too closely or forensically at these places".
-
I wouldn't call "Remember the Titans" a stupid movie. I think it's a good movie. Everyone I know who has seen it, loves it. Though it does fall into the category of I "watch over and over". If I'm channel surfing and it's on, I have to stop and watch. Even if it's already 2 in the morning, or if I'll be late for something. There's just something about that movie that grabs me.
-
I agree, although Helping Hands is one of my least favorite games and this was no exception. But Jack did get into character and keep it, which was good.
-
When do you think Hannibal practices his fight skills? He was pretty slick with the kidnap squad Mason sent for him. That lay down on the floor and spin routine had to be through good training.
-
I don't know how WIll could just stand there and not react. As vile a person as Mason is, that was seriously messed up.

So, how much you want to bet that Nick will decide, at least temporarily, that he doesn't want to regain his Grimmness? Given what's been done to them, and Juliette finally reaching her breaking point, all the talk about his parents death/fake death and mom's re-entrance into his life. I hope it doesn't last long though. And of course, he'll have to regain his powers or they'd be no show. Unless they really want to change things and have it now be all about Truble. ETA: I give the writers kudos for not having Nick and Juliette continue their discussion and issues in the wedding like so many shows would have done. They kept the wedding about Monroe and Rosalee, well until Truble came in.
-
I also thought Christine and Dan would make a better couple/had better chemistry. I thought it was interesting how they kept pairing Harry off with the different women on the show. The first season there was a flirtation with Lana, and then Billy and then Christine. I have no problem with him in romantic stories, of course, but it seemed if there was a female main character of similar age they had to have a flirtation, and sometimes it was more.

Wayne Brady, Nyima Funk, Colin Mochrie, Ryan Stiles

I like Molly, too, but she needs to learn some subtlety and patience, and to follow proper procedure.

It's funny, I never had a problem with him while I was watching "live". I may have disagreed with him at times, just like any other character, but it never bugged me. It wasn't until after coming to online discussion groups (like this) well after the fact that I even noticed the moralizing and other annoying things. And rewatching some of those eps, I do see what people are talking about, but I still enjoy them.

Timey Wimey Wibbly Wobbly Rewatch, anyone?
FormerMod-a1 replied to Captanne's topic in Torchwood [V]
Has the rewatch officially started? Also, while I agree it's part of Jack's story, is it really part of the Torchwood series? -
She speaks to Root that way because Root interfered with Finch's fail safe plan. Finch had programmed the Machine to reset (reboot?) and move itself via that virus. He knew that was going to happen. He also programmed it to call him, once back up and running and ready. Root interfered with that to make sure she got the call. Since Finch couldn't keep that from happening in the time frame they had he managed to get the Machine to make 2 calls - Root still intercepted the main one, but Reese got the other one. If things had worked as Finch programmed, it wouldn't have imprinted on Root. And since Root got the primary call, she got the relationship with the Machine that she wanted. And then we got her full time.
