  1. Toby; Should we get back together? me: YES (not a Phillip fan) Late bloomer, just as Mom predicted.
  2. You weren’t swayed by her adorable “signature”?
  3. I didn’t see this posted yet. Apparently it’s genuine. Michelle pleads on Joshua’s behalf
  4. I just hope the kids aren’t made to feel like they didn’t pray hard enough when Daddy doesn’t make his triumphant return home.
  5. My husband and I burst out guffawing.
  6. I love this post. We all need people who will be honest and supportive, and we all need to trust those people. We have a friend right now whose wife was dx with early dementia and he is not ready to accept ANY help, nor even go to her doc for advice on coping. My husband is in a position to connect him with all kinds of supportive services but nope. Meanwhile he is wearing himself out and is unable or unwilling to be firm with his poor wife when she needs it - for example, she’s still driving (!) because he fears confronting her about it. (She has already called hIm once from a parking lot saying she’d forgotten how to to turn on the car.)
  7. It took awhile for me to realize that she apparently had more a lot years with Miguel than she did with Jack.
  8. That was a real surprise to me and I LOVED IT!
  9. I hate that, and I’ve had the renaming happen in my own family. My understanding is that my MGF was renamed at Ellis Island, with his lengthy Greek first and last names shortened considerably (this was many, many years ago). Come to think of it, my own middle name is a more American version of my Greek grandmother’s. Ha! Maybe I’ll change it back.
  10. I was relieved when he told his new boss his real name; I was so afraid he had had a phase of trying to Americanize as “Mike Rivers”!
  11. It’s interesting to look back and realize that Jon Huertas has, to me, always played Miguel as if he doesn’t quite feel comfortable. And now we know why. And he was a bit much when young, which rubbed some of us wrong, but we grew to appreciate him just as Rebecca did. So very subtle and well done. This episode was heartbreaking but thank god we got to see them happy together - and know they both really fell hard for each other and that they had even more than just a friendly, comfy marriage and old age. it was also a relief to see the Pearson kids finally grew up, appreciated Miguel (or MIGS, per Beth LOL), and were finally glad for their mom’s happiness. And a relief that Kevin orchestrated a reconciliation with Miguel’s kids Having not seen young Miguel in so long, I’d kind of forgotten what Jon Huertas really looks like. So handsome, with those beautiful expressive eyes.
  12. Yes. She actually said something like she wanted the chance to gal in love with this new grownup “him.” (Paraphrasing .). She wantS to explore the possibility.
  13. I think it can be a sign of maturity that she dressed to serve her own needs and not to dazzle a man.
  14. I had that thought about the car, too, and I kind of hated myself. Thank god she didn’t have to actually pretend to get in or whatever.
  15. I was impressed that six-year-old Kevin knew how to spell “Sophie” on his own.
  16. I’d like to know if Miguel’s kids still hate him. Seems like he lost them forever and then the Pearson kids were crappy to him for ages on top of it.
  17. Well…my DIL hated my son the first time they met. They went their separate ways for a year or so then crossed paths again as fell in love. They alluded SLIGHTLY to this in their wedding vows but it was more like We fell in love when the time wa right…
  18. The kids were certainly more welcoming to Philip than The Big 3 (barf) were to Miguel.
  19. I wasn’t questioning her taking Toby’s name but wondering if, in the professional world today, “Mrs” is used rather than “ms”. I’m retired but when I was still working, “Ms” was the default in professional correspondence etc regardless of whether the woman was married. So I wondered if that had changed.
  20. It did, but then the look on Kate’s face made me think that wasn’t something she expected to see. And do people even use “Mrs” anymore? I actually don’t know; I’m of the Ms. generation and I think most all my friends kept their birth names when they married.
  21. I agree with this but I’ll add that we have seen Kate glowing with happiness at work, so I could buy that this is the Kate who “makes him happy.” That’s the Kate he knows. They have NO CHEMISTRY. And I honestly thought it was going to turn out he was lying about his wife being killed; it seemed that absurd. She didn’t even say goodbye! *eyeroll* and Kate just could not handle the fact that Toby grew up. The end. I really like new and improved Toby so I'm glad life gets better for him.
  22. They’ll have to switch to “Philate.”
  23. No kidding. I’m 68 and no Vogue model but she outfrumps me by miles.
  24. I kept wanting Randall to ask Malik if that was the sort of life he would want for his own daughter at 17.
