  1. Ugh this thread reminded me about the totally awkward Robyn talking about her first husband taking her precious innocence from her and stomping on it. Then of course, you realize after getting pregnant, this terrible human married her and had 2 more kids with her. And clearly the kids didn't listen. Still waiting for Janelle to talk about how she also slept with someone else prior to Kody. Would love to see the therapy session after Janelle talks about how crappy Meri's brother was as a husband.
  2. I only know one Morman family (enough to go to their home) and yes they are 100% Costco lovers. They have a large walk in pantry with stockpiles of food (can, boxes, etc.) and a place in both their attic and first floor that has identical toiletry items in bulk (soaps, toilet paper, basic medicines, water filters, seeds, starter logs for fires, feminine hygiene products, etc.) It didn't occur to me it had anything to do with their religion. But the wife told me about the Morman food and supply banks. She said it has been ingrained in her head from childhood that one hurricane (we live in the south), one winter storm, etc. could knock off access to supplies and food for weeks if not months & also that if they ever fell on truly hard times, they would be able to make it. She explained growing up, they always had enough stuff to get her whole family for 6-9 months. So she did the same with her family.
  3. I THINK she was saying no more kids. IMO, they never intended to have more kids. She has the boy and the girl. She has more kids than Meri. She has the youngest two and will still have kids in the home a decade after the rest of them. This is just a "story" which IMO has ZERO interest for me.
  4. Um....to Janelle moving again. These people have no money and are moving again. Deposits cost money and while you may get some of it back, you typically lose money. Meri does seem to be much more realistic and honest about plural family and her family specifically. Janelle seems to be actually happy right now. She is laughing and joking more. I think for her, she has embraced this "new" chapter of her life where she's grandma and able to be friends/visit with her kids. Robyn's revelation that her younger kids aren't being raised by the other 3 women struck me. Maybe for the first time on this whole show, I actually felt bad for her. Kody's inability to hear his wives or accept their decision shows the falsity of their life. Plural families always say the women have all this power and decision making ability. Yet, Kody refuses to accept it.
  5. The way to up the ratings BIG TIME is for one of the wives to move out/threaten to separate. This house thing is getting old quick but I am intrigued by how adamant Christine is about NO ONE HOUSE. I still maintain she heard Kody/Meri sexcapades or Kody and she didn't have sex cause Meri heard them. I would be interested in that story.
  6. I don't get why they can't just all live in 4 homes on the same property. That was the original plan. Let Robyn or Meri have the main living space or bigger living space for family functions. The kids could still see each other.
  7. Don't know a ton about her father, but her grandfather is a very interesting person. He started a plig cult and eventually got murdered by another cult leader. I also think he was very public and advertised his family life and multiple wives.
  8. This Week's Tag Lines: Meri: I am uncomfortable with Janelle talking about sex with Kody. Christine: I no longer want the family. I just want my own house and make my own decisions. Robyn: Kody is an flip flopping idiot who has no idea what he's doing. Janelle: I am terrible at my "job" and don't care. Kody: I am such a victim and am always right even if all evidence points to the opposite.
  9. Oh good grief didn't even think about that. Figured the family started an LLC and the LLC kept the taxes back for them. If not, I would bet money none of them are current even with the small amount of taxes based on loop hole numbers and fudging the truth about stuff.
  10. We enjoyed our double date with accomplice 1 and 2. We love that no matter how many of their children Josh molested or how he cheated on me, they will stick by him. I swear, if I was the rest of their children I would hate how much they support this goober.
  11. I always got the impression that back when Janelle worked, Christine basically raised her kids too (until they were school age) and took care of them after school until Janelle came home. I could see that being exhausting when you are in charge of 12 kids even if its just for a few hours everyday. Plus, between Christine's personality, the constant Meri/Janelle tension, and being the 3rd wife, I can see if Christine felt constantly in the middle and like she was walking on egg shells. Not being under the same roof would probably lessen the tension and her part in that drama.
  12. My tax attorney professor was OBSESSED with plig life. For a few years, he investigated some of the compounds in Texas and Montana for tax purposes. One of the thing he ALWAYS harped on besides all the tax loopholes (using religious exemptions for things like house hold cars and homes, deductions, fake work for earned income, bleeding the beast, etc.) was how JEALOUS every father seemed of all of his sons. My prof would talk about how men would hate their 6-8 year old boys because they were seen as potential competition. It was sick. I know with BIG LOVE the shunning of a son was a huge story line throughout & there have been documentaries but my professor was astonished. My professor would often say 90% of the boys were LOATHED by their fathers and girls were celebrated. Girls were more valuable due to the cleaning, cooking, running small local business like laundry mats, etc. Plus the more girls, the more potential there was for marrying into another "prominent" or powerful family within the community. In almost every other culture boys are celebrated as they continue on the name, etc. Kody always reminds me of that. Kody probably sees that none of his sons intend to carry this lifestyle on and resents the crap out of them for it. He's gonna reject them before they can reject his lifestyle.
  13. Kody's SUPER SECRET SCHEDULE 8:00 Wake up at Robyn's House 8-9: Fix hair. 9-11: Drive around in my sports car. Meet with my friends about my super crappy Christmas present that none of the wives want. 11-12: Write in my journal about how many prejudgiced everyone is against me because I'm a polygamist. 12-1: Eat lunch & reassure Robyn she's my favorite wife. 1-3: Nap time 3-4: Call the other deductions errrr I mean kids 4-5: Call to Order the "I hate Meri Club". Janelle will join by Facetime. 5-7: Eat with Robyn and my real kids and spend time with them 7-8: Sexy times with Robyn. This consist of me standing in the mirror with my six pack and Robyn telling me that I have the best hair in all the South west.
  14. I remember seeing that but I thought that was more traditional for the first (and maybe second episode). If that is right though, they need JOBS. If they made 10,000 before taxes they would have made most of it as they had so many dependents and crazy tax loop holes. So lets say they brought in 9,000 per episode. There has been 152 episodes. They would have made 1,368,000. Their houses in LV cost more than every cent they've made from TV. That isn't counting food, bills, cars x 10, insurance for cars, gas, colleges, parties, etc. I just don't get how they'd ever be allowed to get houses with that income considering their past credit.
  15. I think they bring in a lot of money from the show. Even $20,000 an episode is $4,000 per adult. I would assume it closer to $40,000 per episode but that is just me guessing. I think the problem is they are a minimum payment kind of peeps. If they can make the minimum payment then they think they can afford it. Then a regular "that sucks" thing happens like a blown tire in a car, a prom dress, etc. Then add in those regular extra expenses like taxes, tags/car vehicle taxes that come due once a year, the kids dues for school, etc. and all of a sudden you are $500 in the hole for the month. Then the idiots don't tighten their budgets to pay off the money they owe, instead, they create a new business or LLC which has no plan and cost way more money than it will bring it. They also have a jealousy/keeping up with the Jones' mentality with each other. The better house, vacation, etc. proves Kody loves them the best and they are the favored wife. Then we have middle-school minded Kody. He is the ultimate boss and then what wife wants to say "no" to a new sports car or stupid idea. The other wives vying for his affection will say "yes" and he gets the ultimate decision making ability either way.
  16. I'll never be over Mary with 5 bedrooms and a wetbar....with 2 people living there and none of them drinking alcohol.
  17. I believe they have all filed bankruptcy before. Kody and Meri around 2004 and Christine sometime around the time the show started. Janelle filed in the 1990s. I think Robyn and her first husband did as well and there was over $1000 to Victoria Secret. They are all terrible with money. But I do think parts of the FLDS culture is bleeding the beast aka ripping off the government and even to some extent corporations of all the money you can is totally acceptable and encouraged.
  18. First that is a ROUGH looking 25. I have a decade+ on him and everyone I went to high school with looks as young if not younger than Joe. Secondly, how incredibly sad is that I did the math and realize Joe was 22-23 when he got married and legitimately though "wow, he was older!"
  19. I do think the only reason Kody would consider having another kid is to keep the TLC train going. 6-10 episodes of "will they won't they?" have another baby. Meri will remind us that she only had 1 baby and 1 wetbar. Janelle will be thrilled that she will get even less time with Kody. Christine would use this as an opportunity to tell us why living together with the new baby is a bad idea. Pregnant announcement/reveal episode. Gender reveal episode Baby shower episode Birth episode Lots of these episodes will include flashbacks and "memory" stories. Interviews are way less expensive than shooting new scenes. TLC would enjoy it too!
  20. My unimportant thoughts of the episode: Wow Christine's home is normal sized. It must be way less than 1/2 the expense of all the others. Why is Meri by herself in a bigger house than Christine with 3 kids and a dog? Robyn calling the kids jerks because they are think 18 kids is enough because their moms don't like each other and they have no money? She's the jerk! Kody has 7 adult kids and 2 grandkids at this point. I've overweight so I've always supported Janelle more when people assume she's lazy but I really think she is. She sees this house as a way to do less work to see each other, less work around the house, etc. BOY CHRISTINE DON'T WANNA LIVE TOGETHER. I swear there is something to Janelle talking about Meri and Christine leaving above/below each other. I swear I think Meri, back when she was the favored wife, must have been loud in bed or purposefully made sure Christine heard. Meri is quickly sinking further and further into a deeper depression. She's unreadable now but yet always on the verge of tears. I expect once the show is done, she'll pack up and head to live with her mom most of the time.
  21. Honestly they seem less fake now when it comes to everything but money. Everyone seems completely over Meri at this point. The older kids can't understand why their parents moved to Arizona. Everyone seemed incredibly annoyed that Kody mentioned still having other kids. Robyn called the kids jerks for wanting their father to quit spreading his seed considering he has no money, 18 kids, and 2 grand kids. It seems pretty clear that all non-Meri wives are living their own lives at this point and treat the other wives like 2nd cousins they see at grandma's house every other Sunday for lunch. Kody is now wanting me time and his own space.
  22. 5 capable adults: We are so worried because we have 7 mortgages & 2 rental payments a month. Everyone: Get a job. 5 capable adults: .......
  23. There is a lyric to a song that seems appropriate here: You've got the talking down, just not the listening. All four wives for a decade: None of us want to live together Kody: So for Christmas my surprise is spending money we don't have to try and live together.
  24. Good grief, time flies when you have stories about sexually abusing your sisters & cheating on your wife!
