  1. Not to mention opening a gallery, which has to be a money drain, during divorce proceedings. Frankly, very little about this show makes much sense, starting with why Frances and Robert were married to begin with.
  2. Fruit seems to be a catchall symbol for "you're doing it wrong!"
  3. True. I don't laugh much, but I'm also not moved. I'm mostly incredulous.
  4. At about the 5:45 mark of his appearance on Live with Kelly, Daveed Diggs talks about blackish. I particularly enjoyed what he said about Laurence Fishburne, who sounds like a very cool and kind man.
  5. Oh my gosh, do you think this had anything to do with the selection of Footloose for the campfire sketch? Young LMM is too adorable!
  6. Only the HFPA would put Sarah Jessica Parker in that company for a mess like Divorce while overlooking the total goodness of Brooklyn Nine-Nine in every freakin' category. Yeesh.
  7. I had no idea who John Cena was before the show. Thought he did a fine job. Cecily Strong was on fire last night. "They go low, I get high" are my new words to live by.
  8. The event took place this past Sunday, but will be broadcast by CBS on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 9e/8c. The performing line-up is available here.
  9. Alas, we all die, ev-en-chew-all-ee. Adios, Manuel, aka Andrew Sachs.
  10. ^^ cannot be said often enough. I have saved on my DVR Alec Baldwin's first episode from 1990, and Jan shines throughout this one, especially the diner sketch that plays like a miniature movie.
  11. Maybe Steven Weber was going to fly her. I'm on the underwhelming and disappointing train. I cringed through the musical and the other Stars Hollows residents' reaction to it, agreeing with a reviewer who said that 20 minutes was spent on something that deserved 20 seconds. But I liked the Wild thing and the LDB sequence. I didn't watch the last few seasons of GG, so I wasn't familiar with the LDB guys. I liked the surreal element that part injected into the story. And I LOVED that they poked fun at the "Wild" experience. I started to watch the movie on a flight last year and had to turn it off after 20 minutes, as my eyes were about to roll right out of my head.
  12. As an extremely lapsed Catholic, I find the whole annulment/divorce circus absurd -- including the CoE side-show. So much personal misery to uphold technicalities... Ah, well, it gives us some entertaining stories!
  13. I hear all your points, Rinaldo, but the laugh content was so high on this one, I didn't even notice these issues in the moment. (Disclaimer: I've been too busy to watch the show at all for about a month, so I skipped over the last few episodes on my DVR -- still there -- and headed right to this one over the weekend. It did NOT disappoint!)
  14. Which begs the question, why doesn't the Church of England just grant annulments to make these remarriages possible? At the end of the day, that religion still owes its existence to a horny headstrong king who had the power to have wives that displeased him executed. A little annulment, or even divorce, hardly seems like a trifle in comparison. ;-)
  15. I'm still watching in a train-wreck sort of way, but boy, are the characterizations trying my patience.
  16. Something I've never understood (and have not taken time to research) is why the Church of England is so opposed to divorce and remarriage (at least for royals) when, as I understand it, the Church of England's primary reason for breaking away from Roman Catholicism was so that Henry VIII could divorce several wives. I suppose my understanding is overly simplified. Could someone offer a succinct explanation or direct me to a good web-site for understanding this seeming contradiction?
  17. Did that little boy in the Macy's parade sketch also play young James Corden in the Tony's opening sketch? (Go to the 2:20 mark in the video)
  18. I found this one nearly unwatchable. Ugh.
  19. My favorite of the Joe & Barack memes (which I can't seem to insert as an image -- PVT tells me there is no Tweet at this URL, but there is, and you'll love it): https://twitter.com/JillBidenVeep/status/797984683912937472/photo/1?ref_src=twsrc^tfw
  20. That link seems to be defunct, but you can still see the skit here: http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/update-palin-rap/n12327
  21. I get the feeling Kris Bryant is a little shy. Or maybe he has taste. Zobrist had to go to Disney World with his family. And naming him the MVP of the series was a crock. As did I. It was truly horrible.
  22. I guess that was supposed to play as funny, but it came off as pathetic.
