  1. I had to drive home from a game night, and of course a nasty blizzard decided to strike while I was trying to get back, but I squeaked in and am ready to watch and comment! Bring on the Oscars! 😄
  2. So, for shits and giggles I went to a lawyers message board, posted the facts of the Wiley crapfest story, and asked them: Who would get charged IRL in this scenario, and for what? (The first answer was, "Whoever wrote this shit, for criminally bad writing", LOL!). But the consensus answer was (I'm paraphrasing): "The person who would get charged with the most serious crimes: Michael: Whole bunch of shit, honestly. Kidnapping (he refused to let Nelle out of the car when she said she wanted to leave) on up (threatened her life, nearly got her killed, etc. etc). Wiley's Status: This is actually fairly vague and technical and is going to be very dependent on the state it happens in. I'm not sure if Nelle can actually be charged with any custody-related offense, it's going to depend on how the statute is written. Ditto with Brad, he had permission from one of the baby's bio-parents to take custody. What she and Brad are probably going to end up eating charges for FOR SURE though is actually fraud/perjury, weirdly enough. At some point they'll end up signing something related to their kid that is false, as to the kid's name or identity. That's a relatively slam-dunk case." I just had to laugh at how inept the GH writers are, setting up the person who would in real time be doing hard time in prison for his actions as the poor, put-upon victim. Typical Lulu. The writers are severely constrained when it comes to Carly, since they can't write any story that removes her from her permanent residency up Sonny's ass. Ava and Nina are much more free to be moved around the canvas. I expect Sam's storylines will die off also since she's become a braindead Jason appendage.
  3. And this is why it's so impossible for me to ever root for Lulu in the Charlotte situation, because between the writing and acting for both Lulu and Valentin, Valentin wins the "rootworthy" contest hands down, despite the fact that he's supposed to be a deep-dyed villain! Valentin has already been written as, and JPS has portrayed him as, a man who's redeeming feature is that he loves his child with all his heart. Lulu has been written as a dimwitted, whiny, entitled twit, and ER plays the role as written. It's like they went, "We'll write that Charlotte was the product of Lulu's stolen egg, that way she'll be the victim and in the right", without taking into in consideration that Valentin was as much a victim in that situation as Lulu. Then they do nothing to make Lulu more sympathetic, while reinforcing that Valentin deeply loved Charlotte at every turn. Finally, when the Nicholas shoe drops, they show Valentin's first reaction is to think about Charlotte first, while Lulu's is, "HA!!! I'VE FINALLY NAILED HIM ON SOMETHING!!!" I find the whole Charlotte story to be deeply distasteful (I hate child custody storylines in general),. What I especially hate here is that the writers did so much to make Valentin rootworthy in this one situation and so little to make Lulu rootworthy in, let's face it, ANY situation, plus JPS's strengths as an actor and ER's weaknesses, that it comes off as a story about how an unlucky child was ripped away from the father she adored because her egg donor decided she was entitled to said child. I find it hard to believe that this is what the writers intended, but this is what they wrote.
  4. He already redeemed himself when he sent Charlotte out of the room. His first thought after the shock of Nicholas's entrance was for his daughter. Lulu on the other hand couldn't be arsed to give the child even two seconds of thought, she was too busy making wild accusations on the basis of no evidence whatsoever. This show just makes it impossible to root for Lulu at all, even when she is up against a louse like Valentin. She's just a shrieking idiotic twit 100% of the time, there's nothing rootworthy about her at all.
  5. More likely they're setting things up for a "Lulu isn't Charlotte's mother after all" switch. To mine the drama of Lulu finally having a clear shot at sole custody after Valentin's latest act of perfidy only to have it snatched away when the truth comes out.
  6. I liked it pretty well, although the Christmas Carol part was so truncated that it came off more as "A Christmas Carol's Greatest Hits" than anything else. If they were going to do something like this, they should have stretched it out over at least 3 episodes.
  7. GENERAL HOSPITAL has the same problem that people have pointing out about the recent run of STAR WARS movies - it just keeps strip mining the same nostalgia vein, and by now that vein is played out. There's nothing left to mine.
  8. I sometimes think that the person who ends up getting featured in these things is the one who didn't get any time off.
  9. If Laura Wright were to quit GH, that to me would be a sign that GH is going to be cancelled. People at GL talk about how she picked up on the signs of it's impending doom and got out early. I think that's the only reason she would leave GH.
  10. I'm not sure it could continue like it already is - I suspect there would be some definite changes having to be made - but I think that movie the show over to a streaming service that ABC's parent company owns would be a possibility.
  11. I bought I new TV just so I could get Disney+ and watch THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER! I'm pumped! 🙂 In CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, Steve had a line that suggested that Bucky was actually faster than him. "He's fast. Strong. Had a metal arm." At the very least, Bucky's speed was something that Cap called out as being exceptional.
  12. I give GH a slight edge in that I can see it getting moved over to the Disney+/Hulu streaming service. I don't think NBC or it's parent company has anything like that set up yet.
  13. Given that Jill Faren Phelps and Bob Guza was in charge during her stint there, I am not at all surprised they turned their back on her. She's lucky she didn't get fired on the spot.
  14. Kelly Monaco showed that, if you just stick around long enough and have your backstory changed enough times, you too can be a major star on GH.
  15. I thought that too, although in all fairness he was given a lot more to work with writing-wise. And he was simply "better than how he was playing Morgan", not OMG-blow-your-socks-off-A-Star-Is-Born! terrific. He's still got a long way to go to develop as an actor. I enjoyed GRAND HOTEL as well, it was soapy, frothy, and fun. Gave me a real "classic DYNASTY" vibe. I'm intrigued enough to keep watching.
  16. Hey, there's a little Turkish pickpocket kid hanging about handy... ;)
  17. JT made it quite clear that he disliked the two pairings that were written for him when Robin was off canvas, then abruptly announced he was leaving for Y&R. Those bridges lit up the night sky. If FV somehow decides he just has to have JT back in the cast (despite ample evidence that, without KMc around to carry his sorry ass, he is incapable of acting), he should bring him back as Patrick's brother Matt. Matt could be recently paroled from prison and back in town looking to see if he can reignite the spark between himself and Maxie. Also, rumor has it that Gina Tognoni is campaigning hard for FV to bring JT back as Patrick with herself as recast Robin. This idea is so utterly horrible I'm willing to bet that FV is seriously considering it.
  18. The big question is where JT will go after he gets bounced from Y&R. There's no place for him at GH any more, not to mention he burned his bridges here. ( Although I could see FV taking him back, if only to make him crawl.)
  19. I seem to vaguely recall that Lucy was a psychic at one point, I'm guessing Joss goes to her to set up a seance to commune with Oscar's spirit or some such thing.
  20. For some reason this show is reminding me quite a bit of SLINGS AND ARROWS. I'm definitely going to be giving it a look.
  21. Well, not surpisingly, the Change.org petition is going nuts.
