  1. Or, you know, she gives the jacket to her dad because, you know, he's responsible enough to keep it safe AND he doesn't have his place being broken into every other week.
  2. I know the producers didn't interfere last season like they did for Rachel/Jordan's season, but I have a feeling they might this year to keep Frankie around, if only for the possible boost in ratings and most likely the boost in voting too, because of Ariana fans. I don't know if they'll definitely do this, but I'm pretty sure it's a possibility, which means unless he loses competitions and can't save himself, nor the producers can, then he'll probably stick around until mid-season/final 5. But yeah, it would be better if he was gotten rid of early on. I mean, I also want to see his game and how he plays because he's a fan too and probably does genuinely want to play, but it's his sister's popularity and his own that worries me.
  3. Well, I'm not quite sure I'd classify Frankie himself as famous. His sister Ariana certainly is, but him? Maybe one person might recognize him in the house, but I honestly don't think he's famous enough that he'd be recognized. If they heard his sister's name, though, he would.
  4. Speaking of GM, it turns out Paola is her friend so...I don't know how much that'll impact my opinion of her. As long as she doesn't start talking about how great GM is or whatever.
  5. I'm actually surprised at how many of the houseguests have kids. I think I count about six of them who had kids? That might impact how they play the game more than the single people.
  6. It gets worse Katesus: he's the brother of that famous kids/teen singer, Ariana Grande, so I bet he's going to brag about his famous sister. He probably thinks he's all that because of it; he just puts me off in general and I'm going to hate him. Also, I laugh when he says he's a Youtube Personality, when he only has 10,000 subscribers and 10,000,000 hits on his videos actually is not that high at all.
  7. So, there's this Team America vote online right now and it's basically asking people to vote for who you'd align yourself with, according to their quotes about their own alliances. I personally think most of their answers sucked, but I voted for Christine's. I already know that I'm going to hate Ariana Grande's brother; he actually seems like a tool. So I'm wondering how this is going to impact the first week in the house. I'm guessing that the person with the most votes will get a bonus of some sort in the HOH competition.
  8. I also kind of like Nicole, but these profiles don't always give the best or worst impressions of people. Although it did give me a great vibe of Andy last season and how much I wouldn't like him.
  9. Most of these people sound annoying. The only two I like so far are Christine and Derrick. All the others are so over the top or slimey. I especially hate the girl who says GinaMarie is her favourite because she 'always had a great attitude'. I guess she never watched the live feeds...or read things online. She also said she wouldn't be pooping which...uh, gross.
  10. I just read some of the bios so far, and I liked one or two things about each of them but then there's a bunch of stuff that turns me off of them. I'll have to watch the videos later to get a better feel of the contestants. I'll definitely give my full first impressions of the contestants once their threads are created.
  11. Oh my god, that made me burst out laughing at work. Please let it be so!
  12. Ah, so once again, 85% of the cast is in their 20s with the oldest person being 42. I'm going to have fun going through each cast member and judging them on first appearances, only to be surprised once I see them playing the game.
  13. Ha, Felicity is the Mary Sue one? Yeah, right. I said this before on TwoP when there were comments of Sara and Felicity both being Mary Sues. I don't remember the exact wording, but I'll try to summarize what I said. People who say that characters like Felicity and Sara are Mary Sues are using the proper definition of the word wrong. Mary Sues are characters who do no wrong, who have people loving them and they are pretty much perfect and people idolize them in every way possible. But the main point of a Mary Sue is that they're essentially poorly developed characters. They really only have some traits that do not change. Felicity is far from being that. She has grown and evolved over the last two seasons. She is not perfect by any means; she cannot physically fight like Sara or Oliver or Diggle. She can't analyze blood like Sara can. Felicity's strong suit is in technology. She's good at it, for sure, and the others need her as they can't do it themselves. She also is prone to mistakes, though, like when the Clock King managed to get into her computers and crash them. She stands up to Oliver when he needs it and she is pretty honest in her opinions about others. Sure, she's been kidnapped but that's really because she's sacrificing herself to help the team and to help the city. It shows that even though she tries to be selfless, she's not good enough to save herself at the same time. Yet she's still the same, bubbly, quirky tech girl we saw from season 1. She keeps the mood light and despite going through trauma after trauma, she doesn't falter under it. She feels regretful when she thinks she's the cause of Oliver's problems, like when Oliver had to make his first kill since Tommy's death. For once, she needed the pick-me-up speech; she didn't have to give it to others like she usually does. I think Felicity is very important to Team Arrow; without her, Oliver would be more of a douchebag, probably wouldn't have Diggle as his equal and he might actually be worse off. Diggle, Felicity and Oliver balance each other out. Without those three, Team Arrow wouldn't exist and everything would fall apart. I will say Sara isn't a Mary Sue either; she's fought hard to be able to physically fight and do some of the scientific stuff. She wasn't handed those traits; she's earned them, much like Felicity has. Also, people misuse the word "fan"-pandering. There's two sides to it: a positive and a negative. Felicity is certainly a positive example for fan-pandering, but also the writers and producers loved her and wanted more of her before her first episode aired, so it's not really fan-pandering at all. I could stretch and say Felicity/Oliver MIGHT be fan-pandering, but they also have extreme chemistry so it would be a shame if they didn't use that to their advantage.
  14. Yeah, that's the problem for me: Laurel's journey starts and ends in half a season. I know people defend her by saying "Oh, but she's been dealing with so much pain for five years! Her boyfriend and sister were presumed dead! Her dad became an alcoholic and her parents broke up!" Ok, that's fair enough; for a normal show, that would be a lot for a character to handle and I'd expect Laurel to be a changed person. However, this is a superhero show, where characters' motivations are fueled by a lot worse than what Laurel has. Their journey does not involve becoming an alcoholic for a couple of months and still functioning normally, only to overcome it and be perfectly sober in a short amount of time. The only consequence we've seen Laurel receive is getting fired from her job (that she earned back, like, five weeks later so it made the consequence null). I liked Laurel season 1 because she was genuinely pissed at Oliver and it was more realistic that she was angry after all she had gone through. Having that journey would have been more interesting than a cliche alcohol/drug abuse storyline. I would have loved to see Laurel's anger at the Arrow for the whole season instead of three episodes. I would have preferred Laurel's conflict with Sara being alive than her drunken anger scenes. Laurel is essentially ok because her problems are pretty much fixed. Her sister and Oliver are still alive, her parents are on good terms, her father's sober, her sobriety is dealt with, she has her job back. She has no lasting consequences, while Oliver and Sara have still been dealing with it and they've been back two years. Their journey is far from over, while Laurel's is pretty much done until a new problem arises.
  15. It doesn't help that everyone over on The Flash has gotten Stephen's last name wrong. It seems like they've only watched one or two of the early episodes and not ; much of the two seasons at all, which, I mean, that's fine; they don't have to watch Arrow to watch The Flash. But it seems like they're judging Stephen playing Oliver in a way that puts me off.
  16. Yeah...........no. It's closer to the Gossip Girl channel that Guggenheim thinks. Honestly, if they got rid of the Laurel character, then I MIGHT actually believe this statement, but with Laurel around? No, it's not the truth at all.
  17. I feel like if there's any "fan"-pandering (and I put the term very loosely), it's with Laurel. It felt more natural with her in the first half of the season, just before or in the early stages of her alcoholism storyline. When KC wasn't in the episodes, the world didn't explode. Actually, things went on without her and, to me, we got some of the best episodes of the season. But when they shoehorn her in (the Lance family dinner is definitely the biggest example), it doesn't feel natural and it actually makes me cringe. I truly believe the Laurel/Oliver story is over. I think that people are worrying over Laurel/Oliver, but I know it's also with good reason because of the last three episodes. I know that people are worried about Laurel being BC, and I can see why. But I think it's telling that Sara is still alive. Laurel would be irredeemable if she became the Black Canary while her sister was still alive and with the League of Assassins because she was trying to help save the city like a true hero. Well, she would be irredeemable to me and I'm sure plenty of others. I'm pretty sure Laurel/Oliver are not endgame because of what they're giving us with Oliver and Laurel's backstory, which has him treating her like shit over and over again and showing that she knows nothing about him. Also, I don't think Stephen Amell would be very happy about his character ending up with Laurel, after all the hard work he's put into his character and this show while KC has put almost zero effort. I think the most we'll get is one last kiss/one last attempt at a relationship but like Sara/Oliver, they aren't the same people anymore. And it didn't even work out in Laurel's case! Do they think that it'll have an opposite effect this time and have it turn out happy? I don't see any scenario in that happening. So, as much as the producers have been gunning for Laurel and O/L since season 1, I think it's pretty much dead in the water at this point and they should be wrapping that story up by the beginning of season 3. They must see how popular any other couple is. They're absolutely going to sink their show if they put Laurel and Oliver in a long term relationship. They've given us every reason why they don't work. They've even said on the show, multiple times, how they don't work. They've showed us why they don't work. They had Oliver cheating on Laurel and getting another girl pregnant, for god's sake. You think Laurel's going to be happy when she finds that out next season? No, she's going to be furious and I won't blame her (I'd be angry right along with her, actually). They even gave us good reason as to why Laurel doesn't work in the Arrow cave (with treating Felicity/Diggle like absolute dirt and being a whiny crybaby over them going out over her. Like, girl, you JUST joined the team. You also aren't very good at fighting crime or kicking ass, so cool off). They haven't given up on Laurel/Oliver, I don't think. However, I don't think they're stupid either about what the fans really want and I do think they'll drop Laurel/Oliver once season 3 finishes (maybe sooner, but I doubt it) once they start full-forcing Lauriver big time and their ratings start dropping.
  18. Exactly. You know, I say let people say their opinion; I know a lot of people who didn't like Amell and his acting in the pilot and most of the first season; personally, I only notice bad acting if it's really bad acting. Otherwise, it goes over my head and I think most actors have potential and are decent, but I always thought Amell had something going there. I thought his wooden acting in early season 1 was intentional because he (presumably) spent five years alone on the island. Now, of course we know that it's not the case at all, but it's probably what Amell was going for back then. He still was mostly away from civilization anyway so I could see it being intentional. I would just hope the people over at The Flash change their minds once they see Stephen Amell in the pilot. I also hope they don't dislike the actor, because I truly think he's a gem and one of the rare actors who are sincerely passionate about his own show. I think he works so hard and he treats his fans and the show with so much respect that I don't see from many other actors, who only treat it like it's a job and nothing more. I guess we'll have to see why Oliver was dumped on the island again. I feel like it's a cruel thing to do, but there must be a reason for it. I'm kind of hoping Oliver had spent the last two years alone on the island, but I'm pretty sure they're not going to do that.
  19. I don't think she was necessarily fine with it. She seemed hesitant on the phone, almost as if she wanted to tell Jakes that he couldn't come over. Not that I agree with her turn-around in the very next scene because I think it was a bitch move. But maybe she wanted to talk to Jakes in person about the situation. It still doesn't mean she has to be so rude about it. It felt like she wasn't acting like an adult about it and if she had a problem with this, she should have sat him down and talked to him about it instead of giving him hope and then yelling at him the moment he came to the front door. Yeah, I think this was definitely a dick move. Where was Bates supposed to go while Mike was still there? It wasn't like he was moving back permanently or anything (well, not yet anyway). That was a bad call on Mike; at least use the full team that you have instead of kicking the one newcomer out. But yeah, I had a feeling Johnny would spill but I still laughed at how nonchalant he was about it. "Oh yeah, guys, BTWs, Jakes moved out and is pushing for a desk job". Heh. Everyone seemed to be pushy this episode. Briggs with Charlie about the cartel, even though she has perfect reason to be upset; Charlie with Briggs disappearing and not telling her (to me, she was acting a tiny bit clingy); Mike with him trying to kick Bates out and almost trying to rush this investigation. The only two I think were perfectly justified in their pissy moods were Johnny and Paige. I think Jakes could be justified, but we obviously don't know the whole story with him and his family. Also, what was with Briggs showing up at Charlie's undercover job to have a chat about the Mexico trip? Unless her undercover job already has Briggs as part of it, why confront her there?
  20. Well, the Paige/Mike thing is moving faster than I thought it would be. I have no trouble believing them hooking up or at least making out in the last scene. From what I remember, Mike and Jessica aren't an official couple because of her hesitation and I don't think they became a couple in the premiere. However, it still would be a dick move for Mike to hook up with Paige while having a sort of relationship back in DC. Oh, Briggs, what are you doing? That's worse than the stalking Charlie was doing! Although I did like his scenes with the widow because they showed a side to Briggs we haven't really seen, I'm worried that the two will start to like each other or some crazy shit like that. I hope not, because it would be a messed up relationship and Charlie would get hurt. I was confused by the Jakes plotline as well. I could see a small window of Jakes pushing too hard and not listening to his ex about his son, but from what I can see, he hasn't really done anything wrong and she absolutely should have made things clear the moment he started pursuing his son again. I'm not sure if Jakes is entirely in the wrong here (I like the guy but I can see him being slightly wrong in this scenario) but I'm not sure why Jakes' ex is pushing him away to get to know his own son. That's actually pretty cruel;every kid should at least know who his father is, even if they're not completely present in his life. This kid is going to grow up, resenting his mom for keeping his dad away from him, that's for sure. But yeah, that whole scenario was ambiguous and hopefully they explain things more clearly. Oh, I have a really bad feeling about Johnny's safety this season. I just have a feeling like he's going to do something stupid to prove he can go undercover, or he'll just get tangled up in something far bigger.
  21. To be honest, I sort of feel the opposite. I feel like shows usually try to redeem characters who are supposed to be slimeballs. I mean, it's still early and we know nothing about Robert Quinn besides the fact that he married Callie's mom and left for a vague reason (and that he might actually want to get to know Callie). Seeing as his second daughter isn't that much younger than Callie (I'd place her at about 11/12 to Callie's 16/17), it makes me curious about his character but I'd be fine if he admits that he wasn't ready to be a father to Callie and he just signed the papers. I mean, I think from what we have of him, he is redeemable but Callie also has a father who's loved her for all these years. Yes, he's made some pretty terrible mistakes but he has been by Callie's side and loved her. It would be nice if Robert Quinn didn't abandon Callie and just didn't know about her, but I'd be totally fine with him leaving Callie's mom after finding out she was pregnant and him being absolutely rejected by Callie. I also wouldn't mind him sticking around, but I do like Callie's other dad a lot (despite him accidentally killing Callie's mom) and I think he truly cares about her, something that we're still not sure about with Quinn.
  22. It's hard to find a female that I like as a fourth chair. I think that both Kathy's from the earlier seasons sucked (although Kathy Greenwood had her funny moments, but Kathy Kinney just sucked all the time and in Improv-a-Ganza, she often sucked the funny out of the scenes...even Drew did a better job than her). I really like Heather Anne Campbell, though. I first saw her on Improv-a-Ganza and think she does a great job with the guys. Nyiama is one I just discovered on this new version and I think I like her; I'd have to see more of her to know for sure. But for the guys, it's hard to say who's my favourite. Brad is probably my favourite, followed by Greg/Chip/Jeff/Jonathan (another newcomer, but one I fell in love with on Improv-a-Ganza). Keegan is also really funny. I actually have liked all the rotating comedians this year; they're all pretty funny and they do their very best.
  23. Yeah, I forgot to mention how creepy the foster woman was to Callie, but I presume at her age, she's been doing this for a long time and has probably had a multitude of problems with foster kids, so even with a temporary kid, she wanted to make sure that Callie didn't suddenly bolt. I didn't like the woman at all and I don't like her door locking procedure, but I can understand, if she has been doing this for a long time, why she might resort to it. I can agree with this. I do like Emma and I like how she stands up for herself and won't let anyone else fight for her, but I do find the not being friends with girls thing weird. I get that she wouldn't get along with the girly-girls, but I'm sure there are girls like her, or similar to her, in her high school, so she just needs to go find them. She is only 15/16, I presume, so it's possible she's just had bad experiences with having girl friends and she prefers to hang out with the guys.
  24. Honestly, the only part I liked about the marriage plotline was that it allowed Grabeel to show his true acting chops after the marriage dissolved. His scene with John in his apartment showed a vulnerable side to Toby, and it allowed John to parent Toby in a realistic way (and it made me really love John, as most times he's very critical toward people)
  25. Of course, Daphne is the one who wants to confront Nacho (seriously? That's his name/nickname?) and she thinks he'll actually stop because she talks to him. Unfortunately, Daphne's trait to see the best in everyone doesn't actually work, but I'm glad she did realize this in the end and tried to get her mom to quit again. I did love that Bay learned how to play pool from Wilke. I think that shows that the writers are aware how popular he is and maybe with Austin Butler's now cancelled show, he'll show up to support Toby and date Daphne again? I really do like Daphne best with Wilke and I totally forgot that she's in the relationship with Campbell until I saw the previews.
