  1. Ok, going a bit different: If you like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, you might like.... I did have to go back a couple of pages to get a Sabrina recommended one, but go ahead and give it a go. It's probably easier than I think it is.
  2. Oh...wow, those quotes were actually said by Katie? I had a lot of sympathy to her, as her character is just poorly written and the producers have done little to have her character look better than she is, but if KC is going to be bitter about Felicity and Oliver, and act like she's definitely going to be the Black Canary (which even SA doesn't seem to want), then I might have to start retracting my sympathy for her. Whatever the producers have told her, or what they have led her to believe is far from what the viewers see, and even what the other cast and crew see. Nobody is talking about Laurel unless they are directly asked. I'm pretty sure SA avoids the Laurel/KC topics entirely unless he is asked (I see more about Caity than Katie on his Facebook page). I don't see her hanging out off set with any of the other actors unless it's a forced picture, either to promote an episode with her or if it's a spoiler'ish pic. I say let KC do her fashion thing and quietly release her from the show, because it seems that she's happier when she's doing her fashion stuff and she's not being lied to or deceived (presumably by the producers because I highly doubt KC is this delusional if they haven't led her that way). That's the main problem with Laurel: nobody actually cares about her enough to keep talking about her. Her storylines could be interesting, but they steer to boring or cliched. She doesn't fit into the show at all. The only time I've seen serious debate about Laurel is with the last three episodes of the season, where it's made obvious that it's only to test the waters of Laurel becoming Black Canary. KC seems to have only started doing more interviews on Laurel; most of the season, I haven't heard a peep out of her, while people like SA and even CL give interviews constantly about their characters and the show. I hope they stop this Laurel pandering in regards to the Black Canary because I preferred it when she was staying silent. She should be reduced to a recurring character, at best, and they should leave the Black Canary status to the one they originally started with, Sara. If they wanted us to root for Laurel as the Black Canary, they should have left her sister dead. Instead, they tease us all season with Sara and if they take that away for season 3, I'm going to guess that ratings are going to drop.
  3. I gotta say, with all this hate for Liam in the fandom, I'm partially surprised there's very little hate for Karma. I do like her character, and think she's an interesting one, but she's been the douche all season long. From getting her best friend to fake being in a relationship just to be popular to sleeping with Liam and not even telling Amy about it until she used the info right after Amy said 'I love you, let's give this a chance'. In that moment, I interpreted it as Karma wanting Amy to stop with her fantasies and knowing that her sleeping with Liam would hurt her, which I find a very douchey move. I know that Karma's going to go through a lot in the second season (her own possible 'sexuality' storyline journey) but season 1 did not have her looking like a good person in any way, shape or form. She used everyone around her for her own gain, which makes her selfish, and no matter how much Karma knows Amy, her not seeing even little signs until the wedding made it clear she's oblivious to things right in front of her. I think right now, I'm not feeling that much sympathy for Karma, even though I like her character. It makes her not my favourite, although not quite my least favourite either. I don't know; Karma's journey is definitely coming, but her journey in season 1 was all about Liam and some about Amy. I think Karma needs to own up for her actions big time and her being played as the victim in season 2 isn't going to cut it for me. Amy and Liam sleeping together, now that I think about it, is going to portray Karma as the 'poor' one and although it worked for Amy this season, it's not going to work for Karma mostly because she dug her own grave and Amy's 'poor me' from the audience was due to Karma's love for Liam and her discovering her sexuality. Amy's non-feelings for Liam, and Liam's possible non-feelings for Amy doesn't exactly soften Karma's situation for season 2.
  4. I liked the premiere episode; I think it really set up season 2 as a whole, and I liked seeing the small changes in all of the characters. I can't remember new guy's name (besides his nickname Bates) so I'm not really sure how I feel about him yet. So, Charlie and Briggs are together and it seems like they're definitely going to throw more hints of Paige and Mike. I did like Mike's new girl, Jessica. She's an interesting character. Hardass Mike is quite different from season 1 Mike, and I'm not sure if I'll like this version, but I'm very intrigued to watch his storyline grow. Overall, good way to start off the season.
  5. Yeah, I can understand that, Shan. Although I think Karma has been the least self-aware person. She hasn't always acknowledged that her actions are mistakes, that using her best friend was the wrong thing to do just to become popular and get the guy. I do think that Liam needs to have consequences for his actions. He did continue to go after Karma, open relationship or not, and I would have hoped that he would have talked to Amy beforehand to make sure that she was ok with it. That would have been the right thing to do, but I also understand that teenagers make so many mistakes so it's not unrealistic that people would see Liam as a douche, because he is. I just think that Karma is equally, if not more, a douchebag and an asshole for lying, forcing her best friend to continue with the lies and manipulating the situation to benefit herself, not Amy.
  6. Well, that's because they're all (relatively) supporting characters. Shane and Liam are more major characters, yes, but their purposes for the story are to be the gay male and straight male, so there's no complexity at all when it comes down to it. They're just what they are, and for me, that's more boring than Amy and Karma, who aren't as defined. I don't mind the females being less defined because we can actually go through their journey of accepting themselves for who they are. We don't see that with the males, so we're just plopped down in the same-old romance storylines. Oh, absolutely. I am not saying at all that Liam isn't a douchebag. He is a douche because of his actions with Karma and how he does treat women less fairly than they should be. From my experience, that's most teenage boys (not all, of course, but I've known a bunch of Liams). Shane's even a douchebag in his own way. I think the point I'm trying to make is that it isn't as simple as saying Liam's the only douche in the situation. His actions with Karma in particular (not with Brandi or his flirting with the women at the bar) are due to her letting everyone think that she is a lesbian and with Amy. He's still in the wrong for pursuing Karma, no doubt. He needs to own up to his actions. But there can't be a negation of Karma's actions, as hers started this whole spiral of lies and deceit. Shane's actions in 'outing' them definitely started this too, so really, everyone has been a douchebag. I won't say Amy has, except for the last 20 seconds, but everyone on this show has their moments and Liam is just part of the problem, which I find some people are forgetting (not you in particular, but others). I can partially agree with this. I mean, we've never really seen her drunk so we know sober she probably wouldn't have that bad impulse, but in her state at the time? Television shows like to showcase mistakes being made when under the influence of alcohol. Now I'll admit I'm actually not a drinker, so I don't know how realistic these things are. And reactions toward emotional states affect different people. I would personally go cry in my room if I was sober, but when I'm drunk? The couple of times I have gotten drunk, I can range from an angry person to a giggly school-girl so it's possible Amy's an angry impulsive drunk. There's no doubt she'll regret her actions in the morning, and I'll bet Liam will too, but from what we know of Amy, it's not entirely unrealistic that her anger wouldn't lead to something happening with Liam, if only for the subconscious curiosity of why Karma likes Liam and if he's the reason why Karma rejected her. I doubt he went after Amy to sleep with her for revenge on Karma. If this is true, then we can easily say Amy slept with Liam to get revenge on Karma and to hurt her by sleeping with the guy that she rejected her for. So they're both douches in this sense then. I do want to establish once more that I like this show a lot, and I like all the characters because they're nowhere near perfect; actually I find they're very realistic, but I also get that people have different experiences and different points of view so I think we all are right in a sense.
  7. Heh, it wasn't my idea, to be honest. I just scrolled up and Cranberry mentioned the idea so I just had to agree with that being the better ending. You see, then season 2, we could have had Amy/Liam becoming close friends and shutting Karma out for a couple of episodes and then maybe she could have gone to Shane, since he's close with both of them, and then they could have bonded as Shane tried to help Karma earn Liam's trust back and help her with Amy.
  8. I agree. All of these characters are flawed in their own ways, and I find that a lot of people are blaming Liam for his flaws (which is understandable because he is a douche for helping a girl cheat on her 'girlfriend) but he's not the only one in this situation that has made some major mistakes. I think he's a bit of a victim too, as Karma has been lying to him and pursuing him. Liam has shown doubt and guilt over the situation, not that it's stopped him for continuing, but he had been lied to so him being angry at Karma is understandable to me. I actually feel more hate toward Karma than I do Liam. He didn't know about the fake relationship yet had this girl continuously pursue him and flirt with him. He's responsible for his own actions and should be called out for it, absolutely, but I think he definitely had the wrong idea with Karma, because she sent him one clear signal: that she wanted to pursue a relationship with him, despite being with Amy. She showed some remorse, but not a lot. I like Karma, do not get me wrong, but I feel like she's the bigger instigator than Liam. What if Karma had been honest with Liam in the beginning? What if she told him that she wasn't a lesbian and wasn't in a relationship with Amy, and she wanted to date Liam? That would have been him more unlikeable if he did start dating her and the whole school thought Amy and Karma were an item. As it is, Liam still didn't know about Karma and Amy's true relationship and he did bring up the fact that he was uncomfortable with the situation but he still pursued it. He did call himself out for being an asshole and a douche, so at least he's self-aware. Maybe not self-restraining, but at least he knows he's kind of an asshole.
  9. I gotta say, I'm also in the minority that wasn't angry about the ending. Disappointed? Absolutely. I can understand people's angry reactions to the ending, because it doesn't make a lick of sense for Amy to see Liam and immediately go for hate sex. I'm not sure about Liam; he would be the type to have hate sex, but with Amy? It's just odd. However, I understand when people are drunk, they do stupid things that they don't think about until they're sober. People do impulsive things without thinking about it. Sure, there was definitely a better way to handle the ending and I would have definitely preferred the last 20 seconds were completely cut out (I'll actually pretend it didn't happen until season 2 starts up), but I'm not angry with Carter. I read that interview and I honestly don't see him as 100% doing PR. I think he does mean every word that he says. I think he does have a plan and even knowing the reaction of fans, he's sticking with it. I also don't hate that he says that Amy isn't straight, but she isn't a lesbian either. Right now, I believe that Amy is trying to find herself and she may not identify as lesbian now, but she may choose to identify as such later on. Just as of right now, she's not a lesbian and that's ok. Sexual orientation is a tricky subject and not everyone can put themselves into one specific group off the bat. As for Liam, I was annoyed that he showed up at the wedding, but it's not like he's the only bad guy in this scenario. Unfortunately, it's Karma who was lying to everyone and made Amy go along with it. Sure, it's not Karma's fault that she had to reject Amy and Amy shouldn't be angry at Karma for doing so. But Karma did start this all, with pursuing Liam while playing along with the lesbian angle just to become popular. She may not have meant anything by it at first, but unfortunately this is how it happened. And for Liam staying at the wedding, he probably was waiting around for Shane but he could have also called a cab. It's not like he knows many people at the wedding to ask for a ride home. Karma is clearly still in some sort of denial of her feelings. Amy's slowly started to accept herself, but I think she still has a bit to go before she's fully comfortable with defining herself as a lesbian, or whatever. Karma, at the moment, either chooses not to see herself as not straight or she doesn't really have feelings for Amy right now, and that's ok too. I love Karma and Amy; I love their relationship and how it's so complex. Not everything can be black and white. Amy's anger is understandable, because she thought that Karma could have feelings for her too, only to be rejected. Amy's never had feelings for another girl before so it's not like she can jump into another relationship or say 'oh well, Karma doesn't have feelings for me so I guess I should move on'. No, Amy's super confused about not just her feelings for Karma, but her sexual orientation too. Does that mean jumping into bed with Liam, the guy that Karma slept with? Of course not; I think that's stupid. However, in the moment, I could see her wanting to get her anger out at anyone and it being Liam was just the icing on the cake. Maybe Amy's drunken process was going 'there's a guy I can sleep with to get over Karma'. It being Liam could be just coincidence, or maybe she wanted to be angry at Karma and get her revenge of sorts with the guy that she likes, to hurt Karma like she had hurt her. And D'Angelus, I can absolutely see your point of view. I don't agree with it, personally, because I think that the roles could have been reversed and it could have been two guy best friends finding out about their feelings toward one another with a girl caught in the middle, but I also think that either way, this topic would have been constructed as homophobic or negative toward homosexuality in some way. It's a touchy subject nowadays and however Carter would have presented it, there would still be controversy. But, once again, the whole sleeping with your best friend's crush/hookup wasn't needed and it would have been better if it ended with Liam and Amy sharing a different kind of moment at the end. I like the idea brought up of Amy crying on Liam's shoulder and them bonding over their anger over Karma. That would have made for a much more interesting season finale, and a good set up to season 2. Honestly, I did still like the season finale and I'll still tune in for season 2, if only because I do still trust Carter and I hope he knows what he's doing to settle the Karmy fans.
  10. When Andy told Sam that she had been training him for weeks and had him on a short leash and was really strict with him or whatever, I simply couldn't believe it. Granted it's only been a couple of episodes so far, but I actually think she hasn't been strict enough. She goes halfway before giving up, in my opinion. She needs to be teaching him and being a mentor of sorts, but I just feel like she's treating it as a job she has to follow through with. That being said, good for her for FINALLY telling Oliver about Duncan's constant screw ups. Andy's not perfect by any means, but she's a better cop than this guy.
  11. Well, the rookie's still annoying. I know I should have felt bad for him when he had that panic attack, but come on, he's been on the job for five weeks. If he's freezing up at this point, he better damn well be suspended with a possibility of being kicked out. But, of course his step dad's some hot-shot so he's going to find some way to stay, especially judging the previews. Sure, Duncan probably only joined because of his step father, but he's absolutely not cut out for this line of work and someone needs to be the one to tell him to act like an adult. So, I was hoping that Chris would have a storyline, but a drug storyline? Seriously? This show used to be better than this...ok, maybe not, but a cop on drugs storyline isn't going to end well for anyone. Awkward Nick is hilarious and I liked his scenes with Dov and Chloe. "You two get a room and then tell me all about it. Actually, forget that last part." It's a shame he's being reduced to the sidekick, but hopefully it's just a one episode thing. Sam/Andy? Ok, we've been there, done that like six different times now. This time better stick. I did feel really bad for Gail when she saw the little girl and realized that her mom had died. Telling a kid that has to be difficult, and with her break up with Holly, it's clear she hit a breaking point. Speaking of Holly, I don't know whether to feel disappointment that we didn't get to see Gail's coming out scenes to her friends, or to feel slightly proud that Rookie Blue didn't go that cliched route and just jumped straight into everyone being accepting (or, at least, Dov and Chris know). Maybe a little bit of both? Too much Andy (and Duncan) in my opinion. There's a reason why I've never liked Andy-centric episodes (which have been too many for me). I like minimal Andy, happy Andy, non-cheerleader Traci over Sam and Andy. I mean, really, Traci disappoints me sometimes. She's being supportive of her friend, but I remember season 1 where she practically cried over the fact that Sam and Andy didn't sleep together when the blackout episode happened. I know where they're going with Duncan (him staying on the force due to daddy pulling strings) and I'm going to dislike it. I know they're going to make me feel bad for him, and maybe I do, but right now I want him off my screen and out of the police profession.
  12. I finally caved and decided to watch the pilot early and I'm glad I did. I've tried my fair share of Disney Channel shows over the recent years and all of them have pretty much sucked. Maybe it's nostalgia for a show that used to be one of my favourites, but I really liked the pilot. I liked the mix of modern and nostalgia. They incorporated a good amount of heartfelt moments that capture BMW and even the old Disney stuff, and they do have some of the modern moments. I do feel like they did mention 'the world' too many times. I feel like if they saved it for that final two scenes, then it would have been fine. And there was also some forced dialogue, especially when it came to Farkle, but overall I think I'm definitely sticking around to see if it lasts. I'd like it to, and I can honestly say it won't just be for Cory and Topanga. I enjoyed the blatant parallels between Cory/Riley and Shawn/Maya. I actually find myself really liking Maya and the actress is actually pretty good, compared to recent Disney kid stars. Riley is super adorable and she definitely reminds me of Cory, especially of the earlier seasons. I think that Cory sees these parallels too and that's why he's acting the way he is toward Maya. He wants her to stay on the right track because he's seen what happens when someone like her strays too far and gets involved in the wrong crowd. I'm not hating Farkle, but I didn't like how much they used him. I think they need to seriously cut down on his screen time, and have Cory stand up to him as well because currently, he's being walked all over. I don't have that much of an opinion on Lucas as he's had, like, eight lines in total. He's cute, I'll give him that, but nothing's been established there. I like Riley's little brother too, and there was too little Topanga but again, it's a pilot so I get it. Basically, this pilot, despite some of its flaws like dialogue and Farkle, was good enough that I really want to see more and as of right now, I do want it to survive. As long as it continues to take the bittersweet moments from BMW and the show doesn't turn into a complete farce, then I'll be as happy as a duck. One more thing: the Feeny cameo made me bawl. It's surprising how a two second cameo can do that.
  13. I had a great time as a Villain. Unsuccessful for sure, but a great time. Maybe my next time will go better.
  14. Oliver is cute, but I have a feeling if Karma and Amy don't get together next episode, or if Karma rejects Amy, either because she truly doesn't have feelings for her, or she's in denial or whatever, that Amy will use Oliver next season as a fake boyfriend of sorts. He could be a contrast to Liam, showing that, like Liam, he does like the girl but in this case, he won't be getting her and they'll just end up really good friends by the end, if Amy and Karma do have another falling out. I really do like all the characters, even the most hated Liam. I think he's a normal teenage boy but he also has shown his regrets for being with Karma while she's dating Amy. Sure, he may be kind of an asshole, but Karma hasn't exactly rejected him. In fact, she's pursued him most of the time so he's getting the wrong impression too. Not that I totally blame Karma, because she clearly has gotten herself and Amy and even Liam into this mess. But I do think Liam is partially the problem, but partially the victim, just like Amy is. They're all fascinating characters because they're not just black or white. I think I like Karma most of all because she's the most mysterious and complex character. Does she truly have feelings for Amy or is she totally straight? Right now I get the feeling like they could go either way with Karma and they could have her just apologetic that she's been leading Amy on, but she could also harbour feelings for Amy that she's not quite aware of yet. I do get the feeling like she does care for Liam, so they could go the bi route with her, which would be perfectly fine with me. But with Amy, I get the feeling like she is a lesbian and as of right now, they're not showing any hints of her being bi, although it is ambiguous. I like the ambiguity of sexual orientation on this show. I do wonder what pills Lauren is on. Maybe anti-depressants? I wonder if Shane actually knows what pills she is on, or if Elizabeth just said 'she's taking pills' and they have no idea what they're for. Despite me hating that Shane 'outed' Karma and Amy in the first episode, I really do like the guy. He's a great friend to Amy, he has an interesting frenemy relationship with Lauren (ok, mostly enemy but I could see them becoming friends easily once Lauren gets past all this traditional stuff) and he's also a good friend to Shane and he sticks by him, despite him on Team Karmy. I think what's interesting is that Shane and Karma haven't really shared any scenes together, and I would absolutely love to see them talk. Maybe when Karma finds out about Amy's feelings for her, Shane will sit down and have a talk with her.
  15. Oh, poor Nick. I really liked the Fite Nite scene because it showed that Nick isn't over Andy, he's aware of Andy/Sam and, unfortunately, he's aware of his chances with Andy compared to Sam's. It's actually really sad, but it also gave me a glimmer of hope that they aren't just going to forget Nick/Andy for the sake of Andy/Sam. I absolutely can see why Gail is acting so hostile toward Holly (or what I hope is her reason). This is a new relationship for her in general and she's clearly scared so she takes the first chance she gets to pick a fight with Holly and 'breaks up' with her. I think this is an interesting side to Gail, to see her so vulnerable and see her stack her walls up once again. I may not like it, but I can see where they might be heading with these two and it's interesting to watch. Now it seems that she's flirting with the other lady cop? So, I see there is going to be more Wes/Dov conflict. Which I am not too pleased about, actually. I like Chloe just fine now, but if I have to sit through a love triangle, I don't want it to be between these three. I laughed at Traci helping Dov and Gail but then promptly walking away once Oliver showed up. The case that Andy had wasn't entirely interesting, to be honest. I'm still not a fan of Duncan. I know there's a story they're trying to tell, but it's currently not working for me. I see they're trying to give Chris any kind of storyline at this point. It kind of works for his character, but at the same time, they had an out for the actor if they couldn't think of anything else last season and they brought him back, so I hope his purpose is better than taking care of a kid from last season. Great episode, directed by our own Gregory Smith, so kudos to him because once again, he did a good job.
  16. Yeah, you're right Dougal. And it probably was around somewhere; that goes to show how much looking I did before submitting it.
  17. A woman is sent to prison where she meets others who look like her.
  18. Gah, thwarted! God damnit! My first attempt at being a villain has been unsuccessful! Rawrrrrrrrrr! Now I'll have to suffer in the afterlife, watching Monroe and Miles make googly eyes at each other! *floats away*
  19. I really liked the film. Now, for a Ryan Murphy production, I expected it to not be that good and had my expectations at a cautious level. Although some scenes didn't work for me (I wasn't a huge fan of the cinematography of Ned/Felix's first encounter and the subway scene), overall the film did resonate with me in a way that will make me want to see the film again. Everyone's acting was superb. I knew that Ruffalo had it in him to do this, and I also knew Bomer had it in him (and they both certainly exceeded my expectations) but Parsons genuinely surprised me. I have only seen a few episodes of the Big Bang Theory, mind you, so I didn't really know what he was capable until watching him in this. Amazing job by the cast and crew. There may have been some parts I didn't like (some of the speeches for me went on too long) but overall, fantastic job on the film and one that has to be Emmy-nominated.
  20. Oh whoa, whoa, a lynch already? And I missed it? Ok then. Honestly, I'm slightly confused as to why Bob got lynched so quickly (besides the sketchy behaviour). Is it because of that Cleve clue? Honestly, I'm like five years old today, no joke.
  21. Well, is anyone confident enough to start a lynch? Personally, I'm not. There are vague clues for me, but nothing good enough for me to make an accurate accusation. So, is this going to be another no-lynch day?
