  1. I know, right? I absolutely agree with this. We literally dealt with this lack of communication in 1A, where even Stef and Lena were making choices about Brandon behind Mike's back, right? And then we still had the Mike/Stef vs Lena in that same half season, but then they found a way to make decisions altogether by the end. So having the show regress back to Stef/Mike vs Lena, it bugs the hell out of me. I hate regression so for Stef to do that, especially for such a pivotal event in Brandon's life, I am on Lena's side for going to talk to Brandon. It's not like she said 'yes, go do the surgery. Just don't tell Mama'. She just went to state her opinion. Ok, in short terms, Emma was basically being a bit controlling when they arrived at the concert, from where they were going to what they were doing during their makeout session in the car. Emma wanted to have sex but Jesus said no. The next day, Emma and Jesus were talking and Jesus said that she was being bossy, which caused Emma to I think break up with him or something? I kind of missed the last bit of their scene. It's clear Emma is the dominant type and Jesus kind of is. I don't think he's used to having females being the dominant ones so he kind of freaked out over that. It's a bit sexist for him to think that girls shouldn't be in control (at least that's the feeling I get) but at the same time, Emma was being controlling. It's just that she did stop when he asked so I don't think she was in the wrong. I think when it comes to strong female characters, it's a fine line between what is ok and what is too much. Males can get with a lot more on tv, but females are judged much more harshly for their actions. I think Emma is just fine; maybe a bit too bossy, sure, and too much with the 'can't be friends with girls', but I think if a male had Emma's storyline, it would be received much differently.
  2. I say it's probably out of embarrassment. He doesn't want people knowing that he was willing to even take revealing photos because that could circle around the Internet and eventually when he tries to apply for jobs, even a revealing photo could incriminate him and he'll already have a harder time finding jobs. I agree that he should have stuck to turning him in, but I understand why he might not want to. Also, he's a teenager. He's going to act on feelings more than logical thinking.
  3. So, I've been thinking about this young!Derek storyline for a bit now. Despite me not knowing how the hell he got turned back into a teenager (and if he has his adult memories or not...I'm guessing not), it makes me think of Kate's motivations for doing this. Is she trying to retrieve the times she had with Derek as a teenager or something? I'm not really sure of her purposes of turning Derek into a teenager. If anything, it would make more sense for her to turn Peter back into pre-fire Peter. I just don't understand and don't really have any ideas as to why. I just hope it's not for romantic reasons.
  4. From the Malia thread: This is very true, but for me, the difference is that he's known Heather since he was younger so it's a bit different. Sure, Stiles was ready to have sex with Heather but at the time, he wasn't going through a mental crisis. He was pretty much drama free at the time. But this time around, he was in a mental institution, trying to control the Nogistune and trying not to hurt people in the process. He was also in the middle of solving something of his own, so stopping to have sex with Malia was just a really odd choice and it didn't feel natural at all. It just felt like the show wanted to tick off a list of Stiles losing his virginity after all that has been said surrounding it. I would have been completely fine with a makeout session because hey, it's a tense situation and maybe Stiles is vulnerable enough to let a werecoyote kiss him. But going straight to sex? It's not in Stiles' character to do something like that, not when he knows he's hurting people around him and he's trying to contain himself, not make himself vulnerable for the Nogistune to sneak its way in. If they had said blatantly that it was the Nogistune who had been in control of Stiles at the time, then I might have been fine with that too. But it's the fact that it was Stiles having sex in a mental institution in the middle of a major break with some girl that he helped turn back into a human that creeps me out. It might make sense for Malia, but it doesn't for Stiles and now they're pushing the idea of Stalia and I just don't like it one bit. At least with Scott/Kira, they've slowly introduced the idea of them and we had Kira as a full fledged character before anything happened with her and Scott. With Malia, she was a coyote, then she was human, then she was in a mental institution and then having sex with Stiles. Now she's Stiles' mate or whatever and he presumably might have feelings for her too, which I guess could happen if their friendship grew in the months of offscreen time they had, but it's because it happened offscreen and now Shelly is a regular that bugs me. I'm glad females are being represented, but Malia's character does not work with Stiles at all, and we have other characters that could be regulars instead (I really hate to say this, but Ian Bohen's Peter for one, or Danny even. Or even one of the parents).
  5. I'm gonna take this over to the Stiles thread.
  6. I'm adding the recently departed but still loved Enlisted to the ring. It's really hard for me to get into sitcoms or comedies; mostly I have a unique sense of humour and frankly, I don't find poop jokes or immature jokes funny. I also don't find violence very funny, so that eliminates most of the sitcoms on television right now. I also have never gotten into Big Bang Theory and I never really watched Community, so my shows consist of basically dramas and crime shows. I think the last comedy I've gotten into recently was Cougar Town but life made me miss the last two seasons. So when I watched the first trailer for the show last year, I genuinely thought it was funny and wanted to give it a chance, but I honestly did forget about it until the third episode aired (no tv at my university). But watching the first three episodes, I knew I made the right choice; I haven't laughed harder at a comedy in years. It's one of those smart comedies with a light hearted tone to it and all the actors have great comedic timing. I also fell in love with the showrunner's passion for the show. It's clear he loves the show so much that he was willing to fight hard for it each and every single week, even with the dreaded Friday night time slot and the lower ratings. I think a lot of people go for the immature humour because they don't appreciate the subtle, more mature humour that shows like Enlisted produce. Even when Enlisted has made poop jokes, they're done in a classy way. It's just one of those shows that truly is ahead of its time, and it never really got a chance with its crappy timeslot. Some drama shows do well on Fridays, but comedies don't seem to do well at all. I think Enlisted could have done better on another day of the week, but the network never gave it a fighting chance, and I am hoping it gets picked up somewhere else because now I have no comedies to watch and I need some laughter in my life, and not the cringeworthy 'I feel sorry for you actors' laughter.
  7. He does seem like a bragger. I've briefly gone through his twitter page and he does seem to brag about being friends with celebrities, and I know he did a video or something with last year's houseguest Nick, so that's another thing. I think he's said that he's a fan and he's applied like everyone else instead of recruited, but I do consider him the equivalent to the Rachel/Elissa scenario. The only difference is that Rachel is a Big Brother celebrity, and Ariana is a mainstream celebrity, and both are very much different.
  8. In my opinion, I just didn't think it was completely in Stiles' character to lose his virginity to Malia in the middle of the Nogistune drama. We don't really know Malia all that well, so it's easier to say that she could be the kind of person to have sex in a mental asylum. I just don't think Stiles would have immediately gone 'ok, I'm trying to stay sane, trying to keep the Nogistune under control. Let's have sex'. It's just...odd motivation. Stiles may have worried about being a virgin all throughout the series, but despite his gung-ho personality, I don't think he would have sex with anyone just to lose his virginity, unless it was a do-or-die situation, like it was in the Darach arc. Although, I guess I could be wrong but I read Stiles differently. I just think that the sex scene was not fitting to the current storyline, it didn't quite fit Stiles' character and we barely knew much about Malia and if she had been planned to be a regular since that episode, or before it, then having her sleep with Stiles wasn't the way to make me like her. It's just kind of hard because they've never been so blatant about a couple before to make me root for them (the only other couple is probably Scott/Allison and that's because they were the main leads but have good chemistry from the start).
  9. Yeah, I agree that I don't mind Malia when she's interacting with Kira. I got some serious lesbian vibes from that club scene and thought they were going to start making out on the floor. But they're pushing the Stalia ship way too hard, and they even did it last season. At this point I'd take Stydia over them, because at least their relationship feels more organic. And I really only like Stiles/Lydia as friends, but I'd prefer it to Stiles/Malia. Maybe that's true. I could see it, if she wasn't full on coyote/wolf for the last 8 years. I mean, I could read the club scene as Malia scoping out her 'prey' and relying on animal instincts or whatnot, but honestly, it would have been better if Malia had been the awkward dancer because she still wasn't used to her human form, and Kira was the one to be the confident one. It would have been a complete switch for Kira, who is known to be awkward and quirky, and it would have allowed us to see Malia struggle with the simple, teenager experiences like dancing at a club. I do understand and kind of liked Malia not understanding why they couldn't leave Lydia behind. That was actually a moment that showed how far she still has to come in terms of human interaction, even with a couple of months already in her human form. I think my major gripes with Malia deal with her interactions with Stiles (which really started last season when they randomly slept together for no good reason at all) and her leading things in the club. I think they do need to tone her down a little bit. We're still getting to know her and it's hard to really get into her with the flashing neon lights about her and Stiles. I get it from Malia's perspective that she's latching on to someone to help her through this experience, maybe kind of like a wolf/coyote might do with a mate. But Stiles? I don't completely understand his motivations when it comes to Malia because all we've seen is them interacting in the mental institution, then sleeping together, and now suddenly 'I can't leave you, Stiles' and whatnot.
  10. I agree. And as inconsistent as Peter's backstory is, I like teenage Peter a lot more than teenage Derek.
  11. I don't know how I feel about the premiere. I kept going back and forth between 'WTF is this hot mess' and 'Oh, this could actually turn to be an interesting season'. So far, I don't like Malia at all. I don't like her inconsistency this episode and I know I should like her dominating 'go getter' attitude but it actually turns me off a lot. We had two episodes with this girl last season, maybe three, and now she's a regular? I didn't get a feel for her last season and her being a regular isn't sitting with me thus far. I'll have to wait till the end of 4a to really decide whether I like her, but so far I do not. I also don't like the blatant Stiles/Malia vibes. But whatever, I guess a plus is that there's actually an even ratio of lead males to lead females (3:3). I am happy for more Lydia, and I still love Kira/Scott and Braeden calling her Scott's girlfriend. I guess the young!Derek twist could be interesting, and I'm kind of hoping they don't drag it out for the whole season, but they don't magically solve it next episode. I wouldn't mind a couple of episodes. The Mexican hunters were interesting, at least, and I like more clues about the nature of Scott's True Alpha status. So now he can magically conjour up a name (Kate) and rip out of the electric handcuffs? Also, I must have missed something, but how did Scott immediately think of Kate as the one who could have kidnapped Derek? I mean, I know the huntress said who would have a grudge with Derek, but I don't get why Scott would think of someone who's supposed to be dead. I guess Peter's going to have a shitty season, with finding out about Malia (I still wish it was Deputy Hottie Parrish) and finding out Kate's alive and probably gunning to kill him. I do like Peter, and I love the actor, but he definitely needs his ass kicked all season.
  12. *sigh* They don't need to make Lena's pregnancy even more dramatic. They already have a bunch of stuff going on as it is and Lena's age is already a factor into her pregnancy. I liked Timothy before they made him into a complete jerk. I like the Callie/Robert storyline, and I do like where they're heading with it. I said last week that I was worried about Callie's dad being a scumbag and I probably would have liked if they kept him one way. But seeing this week's episode, I like how he genuinely didn't know about Callie until recently and I like how he told his other daughter Sophie immediately and let her write the letter to Callie. I mean, it might be slightly manipulative to get Callie to bond with them, but I think he and Sophie genuinely want to get to know Callie. I also really like that he's willing to sign the papers and he didn't have anything to do with the DNA test. Now, I really am hoping now that it's all true because I want the papers signed and I also want Callie to get the chance to meet Sophie and get to know her bio dad because he doesn't seem like a jerk. I mean, would a jerk really keep going to a dingy restaurant and give a $100 tip if he wasn't wanting to know her? So, I'm guessing Brandon/Lou will have a thing. Ok. Ok, Jesus was kind of an idiot for blurting out that Emma was bossy, but he was being honest and it was true, so Emma storming off like that was kind of uncool. I get both of their POVs and am on Jesus' side at the moment. But at the same time, good for Emma for being a bit dominant and not letting the guy take all the control. Again, at the same time, that was a bit too dominating. The story tonight that made me sad was Jude's story with Connor. His dad is clearly homophobic and a jerk to Connor, yet Connor's probably been raised to be like him. I hope these two lovebirds make up soon because I'm pretty sure the next couple of episodes with them won't be pretty if Jude comes clean about his feelings with Connor. And finally, a Callie/Brandon scene I actually liked with them in his bedroom. I do like their friendship a lot. I think they both needed that talk, for Callie to get things off her chest and for Brandon to think about this surgery thing a bit more. Oh, yeah, Dani. Still a total bitch and I hope they send her off somewhere far, far away. I was going to say I hope she rots in hell, but that's a tad too mean.
  13. Well, that was something. First of all, Emmett/Bay/Matthew's storyline. I kind of guessed it when I realized the catfishing was going on for far too long and it was only Matthew in on it. If he had friends helping him out, sure. But I did laugh my guess off because 'oh, they might not go there.' But they did, and I'm actually...I don't know, happy with that? I guess it's kind of interesting, and it did make me feel sympathy for Matthew. I'm still pissed that he had to beat up Emmett and blackmail him, but I was afraid this show would make him less of a villain and I was totally right. But it could actually be interesting. The Kathryn/book storyline just does not interest me at all. I couldn't care less with her story because she's an idiot for making her character's name so close to Sarah Lazar. I mean, I hate when TV shows do this so much. NCIS is the one show that comes to mind and I hated it so much for that, and of course Kathryn thinks that everything will be fine but seeing as Sarah is connected to John and Kathryn, and seeing as she has the same career and rumours floating around as the character, then I'd be pissed too. That's not to say I like Sarah because I hated her last appearance and I hate her now. I just think her agent is an idiot for not pointing out the similar names and Kathryn's an idiot for not changing the name and occupation. I miss Toby. When is he coming back? I also like Natalie; if she wasn't gay, her and Toby could be a cute couple. Also I hate the Regina storyline. I just have a bad feeling about all of it. I'm going to guess she, or someone like Angelo, gets shot by the midseason finale. And the Campbell/Daphne storyline. On the one hand, I think he needs to stop being jealous; she did go ask for the job and she doesn't have to talk to him about it. They were barely dating when she asked her boss for that job! He could have asked for it, but it doesn't seem like he has. But on the other hand, I understand why he might be frustrated. He has been working there for longer and Daphne's only been there for a couple of months and she suddenly is his own boss? I would be a bit jealous too, actually, and it seems like Daphne really can't do any wrong. But whatever, I just want those two broken up and Daphne with Wilke again. Then I would be able to tolerate her ability to be successful almost every single time. Yeah, poor Tank. He's going to be pissed for a long time.
  14. Or, you know, she gives the jacket to her dad because, you know, he's responsible enough to keep it safe AND he doesn't have his place being broken into every other week.
  15. I know the producers didn't interfere last season like they did for Rachel/Jordan's season, but I have a feeling they might this year to keep Frankie around, if only for the possible boost in ratings and most likely the boost in voting too, because of Ariana fans. I don't know if they'll definitely do this, but I'm pretty sure it's a possibility, which means unless he loses competitions and can't save himself, nor the producers can, then he'll probably stick around until mid-season/final 5. But yeah, it would be better if he was gotten rid of early on. I mean, I also want to see his game and how he plays because he's a fan too and probably does genuinely want to play, but it's his sister's popularity and his own that worries me.
  16. Well, I'm not quite sure I'd classify Frankie himself as famous. His sister Ariana certainly is, but him? Maybe one person might recognize him in the house, but I honestly don't think he's famous enough that he'd be recognized. If they heard his sister's name, though, he would.
  17. Speaking of GM, it turns out Paola is her friend so...I don't know how much that'll impact my opinion of her. As long as she doesn't start talking about how great GM is or whatever.
  18. I'm actually surprised at how many of the houseguests have kids. I think I count about six of them who had kids? That might impact how they play the game more than the single people.
  19. It gets worse Katesus: he's the brother of that famous kids/teen singer, Ariana Grande, so I bet he's going to brag about his famous sister. He probably thinks he's all that because of it; he just puts me off in general and I'm going to hate him. Also, I laugh when he says he's a Youtube Personality, when he only has 10,000 subscribers and 10,000,000 hits on his videos actually is not that high at all.
  20. So, there's this Team America vote online right now and it's basically asking people to vote for who you'd align yourself with, according to their quotes about their own alliances. I personally think most of their answers sucked, but I voted for Christine's. I already know that I'm going to hate Ariana Grande's brother; he actually seems like a tool. So I'm wondering how this is going to impact the first week in the house. I'm guessing that the person with the most votes will get a bonus of some sort in the HOH competition.
  21. I also kind of like Nicole, but these profiles don't always give the best or worst impressions of people. Although it did give me a great vibe of Andy last season and how much I wouldn't like him.
  22. Most of these people sound annoying. The only two I like so far are Christine and Derrick. All the others are so over the top or slimey. I especially hate the girl who says GinaMarie is her favourite because she 'always had a great attitude'. I guess she never watched the live feeds...or read things online. She also said she wouldn't be pooping which...uh, gross.
  23. I just read some of the bios so far, and I liked one or two things about each of them but then there's a bunch of stuff that turns me off of them. I'll have to watch the videos later to get a better feel of the contestants. I'll definitely give my full first impressions of the contestants once their threads are created.
  24. Oh my god, that made me burst out laughing at work. Please let it be so!
  25. Ah, so once again, 85% of the cast is in their 20s with the oldest person being 42. I'm going to have fun going through each cast member and judging them on first appearances, only to be surprised once I see them playing the game.
