Strudel-Boy and Cawowine: Irritating Kids in Commercials
RealityGal replied to OriginalCyn's topic in Commercials
I love how every commercial with a child now is basically parents kowtowing to a child's demands so they won't act like a jerk. Oh I'm sorry, "having a tantrum." I don't even remember if we had a word for it, because all attempts at that behavior were cut off immediately. -
^^Thank you for this. I totally agree. I know MV on the point, but I totally agree with you about her violating the very clear parameters of the assignment. She was sour all the time, everytime she was on my screen it would just bring my Mood down. (whatever pun is there is totally intended) This somehow makes me feel better about her win. Thats exactly what I said at the time. Not to mention, IIRC (and I may not) they each got the same amount of US dollars for a collection, so wouldn't that money not go far given the dollar to euro exchange? And since she got to shop locally, she would have a better idea of the cost of the fabrics she liked, and she got a huge store and already knew what fabrics they had. Everyone else was going to a fabric shop they had never been to, weren't aware of the layout of, and didn't know even approximately what the costs of the fabric were. And even if they got more, it would be time consuming to figure the measurements/dollars. And then the jet lag. And IIRC, all Michelle did was whine and cry over having to stay in New York.

I think Christine loves the idea of more women leaving because with every woman that leaves, she becomes prettier and prettier. I think once Victoria leaves she will feel comfortable leaving the house, because it means that Cody will either be in the house full of dudes, or a jury house with her. Has Zingbot come yet? No worries, if we were all meant to have the same opinion the world would be a boring place indeed :)

I was wondering if thats where term "scape goat" came from? It sort of makes sense, like if you were trying to escape on a goat and it didn't move fast enough you could blame it...thereby making it the "scape goat"....or maybe I've just gone too long without sleep.

Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out

damn cell phone. Kids that age used to be powerless because they couldn't drive a car, now they can accomplish everything on their iPhones and MacBooks :( He sort of reminds me of the grinch. -
I hope the kids of america aren't going around trying to sexually assault some creamed corn. And I don't know that America gets the final say, so I don't know how many people voted for Lenny. And even if it was "America" that may be like 10% of the viewing audience. Our mayor is chosen by popular vote, but like 3% of the citizens come out to vote in a mayoral election. It sounds like Lenny, for whatever reason, had a dedicated following of people who enjoy seeing a grown ass man on a toilet, so if those people were the ones voting 20 times a day its possible that they have overshadowed the voting. Not saying this is the case, but its not a sure thing to say that America loves him. A small portion of America may really love him to the point of voting for him 20 times a day. My only point being that there may be other ways to explain his win besides "but all the people love lenny!" yikes! you had me in your corner at "jizz stained keyboard"

ITA. If you don't feel violated watching Lenny try to molest that cream corn, well....maybe America is going to hell in a handbag.

So then...to be fair, social media isn't exactly new to you. Although, I don't think that a person's savvy or knowledge of social media requires their specific participation. I know about both instagram and snapchat, but participate in neither. As someone involved in an industry that thrives on, and a career that was a component of social media, I would have thought you would still have knowledge of it. But you know what you know, and I don't so I'll take your word on that. However, your post to me, supports I think most of what I've said. I never once said that you intruded per se. I said that your posts have been about garnering sympathy, and I said that I hoped you would continue to post and comment, but not doing that, because there was little point in defending yourself, which I believe you said you weren't here to do, but continue to do. If you don't like the way you were perceived on the show, then the best thing to do is let it go, because, as I've said, I forgot the two people before you and how they were portrayed. I would forget how you were portrayed too, but you keep bringing it up. Case in point - you said you watched previous seasons, but were surprised to be called out as bringing your team down, although if you had seen it done to amanda you might have handled it differently, but as others have pointed out, they did the same thing to Patricia, so you should have seen it before if you had watched previous seasons. Heidi has also called out other designers in previous seasons, in the exactly same way she did to Amanda for being lucky that they had immunity because if they didn't they would be going home. Amanda was called out for being lucky to have immunity in an individual challenge. That has happened in previous seasons, someone getting called out for bringing down what could have been a winning team has also happened in previous season. So if you've watched previous seasons you would have seen this happen. So just own it, not a "well I handled it poorly + but I didn't see anyone else called out for bringing their team down + but if I had seen what they did to Amanda beforehand I would have been better able to cope" but just "hey, I didn't handle that well." However, every admission of you not behaving in a way that makes you happy is almost always followed by an actual or an implied "but...." But your response to my post was basically to imply that I was an unsympathetic person because I wasn't seeing things from your perspective. Or giving your perspective equal consideration. It was, the same as a vegetarian who tells everyone in a steakhouse "well I love animals because I won't eat them" which basically implies that I don't love animals because I'm ready to tuck into this filet mignon covered in bleu cheese. But when your posts are in line with how you were shown on PR, its hard for me to form any other opinion. To imply that I said you intruded, even though I was clear that I welcomed your continued posting, and while I understood you didn't owe it to me, that you should stop trying to garner sympathy through your posts. Especially since you said from the start that you weren't here to defend yourself. And that because apparently i said you intruded you would simply leave the forum altogether thereby making me the bad guy (which, BTW, is totally fine with me, I'm not going to be passive aggressively guilted into changing my point of view)

Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage
RealityGal replied to Maverick's topic in Commercials
oh no! Is that a z? as in "Donutz?" -
Fabio from TC was a special case, but I think Luca is the Fabio for FN. TC to me always gets a higher quality of contestant than does FNS. Thats just always the way it is, IMO. There is always a chef or two that can introduce themselves as a "James Beard" something or the other, or they have a famous chef that they have worked under, or for. I don't think this is always the case on FNS. Even in terms of personality, I think TC gets better contestants. Its like the relationship between Fashion Star and Project Runway, one just gets better contestants. So having said that, I think that Fabio is probably the most charming Italian, with the best cooking to come out of the reality show cooking genre (that I know of, I no longer watch Hells Kitchen or Masterchef), Luca is probably second best, IMO, he is still charming, and good looking (to me) but he is no Fabio from TC.

I would be remiss if I didn't say something. I feel that if you have to stones to say something about someone, you should have the stones to say it to them as well. I feel like your interaction on this board thus far has been intended to garner sympathy. That is my personal feeling in reading your posts. I respect you attempting to mold your own image, although I find it hard to believe that social media is new to you, as you've worked in wall street and describe yourself as a techie. But, I enjoy having this forum as a place for honest feelings and above average snark. If someone sullies that by trying to get sympathy so that people are nicer to them, it sort of, IMO hurts the flow of the board, and the honesty of the participants, many of whom are going to curb their responses so as not to hurt your feelings. Having said all of that, I do hope you continue to post, and to make friends, but I hope, even though you are under no obligation to me, that you come to enlighten us about the process, the rest of the competition, to give us the inside 411 on the other contestants (is Fade as adorably wacky as I think he is?), and other inside commentary, and even to snark with us. There is no need at this point to really defend yourself, you are off of the show, and it was what it was. I think this can be a great place for you to enlighten people, and find true fans of fashion, design and the show, people who are passionate about the same things as you are, and to have a great forum to discuss those things with them, but if thats the point of being here, I'm not sure I understand why there has been a need to defend yourself. I barely remember the two people let go before you, or what I really felt about them, so whatever your "show personality" was, for a lot of people that will fade before the show ends. And through different forums, and having your own blog, you have the chance to re-mold your imagine as a PR insider, because a lot of people will forget about whatever "personality" you had on the show. But IMO, if you keep just defending yourself, then everyone keeps remembering exactly the personality you had on the show because you aren't giving them the chance to forget it.

Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage
RealityGal replied to Maverick's topic in Commercials
LOL! Now you got me thinking about Malibu chicken! But yeah, there aren't even any shots of the inside of a Staples, its like they couldn't even get enough money to close down a staples for a day to film inside of it. They would have been better off running that 80s commercial, which is still a classic. -

Geez, how much has staples cut its ad budget? that commercial looks like it was made by a guy on a Mac who paid a few people to dance in a flash mob. -
In 20 years I'll probably be wearing whats trendy right now. I'm notoriously late to trends....or blessedly early....either way I'm still wearing velour tracksuits. I think what always gets me is "I'm concerned about [insert designer name],[insert bitchy comment], I mean I just don't get their aesthetic" which is pretty much code for "designer x's clothing is dumb, its not my style, and I hate it, and I will be laughing on the inside if the judges put them in the bottom three" When I'm showing concern for someone, I generally try not to follow it up with a bitchy comment.

Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta - General Discussion
RealityGal replied to David T. Cole's topic in Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta
gay dudes trying to keep it on the down low! I heard about that episode of Oprah, I also watched that episode of Boondocks, I know whats going on! Flow charts are logical and make sense. Mimi's lies are so nonsensical and obvious and just weird. I wonder if she really hears half the shit coming out of her mouth, and expects people to believe it. And when they don't she gets pissed. It's like catching a meth user with crack and they insist they are innocent because they only use meth, and then they get super upset when you don't believe that the crack doesn't belong to them. Her lies make that much sense. Thats on me. I was the one who first mentioned that Tammy only has the kid in the summer. Please transfer all chicken noises to me. Those were the days.....when groups had area codes, or three numbers as a group name. No amount of love is irrational for Big Poppa This show has me convinced there are no good men in Atlanta, yuck. LMAO @ she needs to learn what a sit up is....you ain't never lied! When Benzino told her to put on "the brazilian bikini" I wanted to throw up. Girl....no, you need to put on a miraclesuit. You know what stops someone like Thee Thee from getting "cyberbullied?" .....her own fucking narcissism. You know she couldn't go 2 minutes without checking every social media site there is to see if anyone mentioned anything about her. Boy, I really wanted to fit in a Classiq! joke somewhere, but I thank you for getting to it first. Karlie is one of those women that is going to be embarrassing her grandchildren someday by being the 60 year old grandma showing up in the micro mini Classiq! dress. The sad thing is is that she has kept her body up, so if she just dressed appropriately she could look really really good. She wears her desperation like a Classiq! dress on sale. There, I made my joke (and I know I spell it wrong, but Classiq! just feels so right!) I mean, the video is not going to be any "hot fire out your azz!" Rasheeda hit, but its gonna be amusing. -

Shaggy had an entire song about this very situation. If a rapper makes a song about a situation you find yourself in, you should at least listen to his arguments. I was rolling my eyes so hard when Snoop said that - who exactly is she a role model to? All the other crazy Puerto Rican manly looking women looking to get off the pole? Karlie and those inappropriate outfits.....why.... -

LOL @ as slimy as a bag of snakes dipped in horse shit. Pretty much. I knew she was sneaky after the whole Cythia "let me attempt to deny I curse when I'm cursing on this voice mail" but this is much lower than I ever thought she would sink. Absolutely disgusting. Those poor boys. -
This episode 1. Aysia - somewhere Diamond is watching and laughing her ass off 2. Blu - I don't know which producer she pissed off, but she is looking like an asshole right about now. Yeah, Slim may be ridiculous for not wanting to get wet at the beach, but so what, just respect that and leave her out of the fun then! 3. Jada - I'm coming around to liking her more. I'm glad you got your trip to Barcelona, and you're not sitting around whining and complaining about how small the rooms are like the other girls. Some of these bitches act like they stay in the finest resorts in the land, and you know half of them have only been the Holiday Inn or the Howard Johnson's. 4. Loren - really? You feel the need to "educate" your cousin about Jada? Just because she called her "Lil' Kim" don't worry Loren, you can be a rapper too...maybe "Foxy Brown"...the poor man's "Lil' Kim" Let your cousin think for herself! And BTW, way to stick by your family by ditching your cousin for the chance at $600. So glad the blue team lost...whomp, whomp. 5. Raynesha - I kinda like her, especially during her intro, I know what its like to feel left out in a group of girls. I also liked her calling Jada "Lil' Kim" if only because it got under Loren's skin. I would have liked to get to know her in another season....without Loren

You are 100% correct, and I'm going to knock it off now - I think agree or disagree with me, I shared my thoughts. And I appreciate that no one got upset or super salty.

Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out
RealityGal replied to Stinger97's topic in Past Seasons
My goodness, they both make the other look so much uglier. Or maybe its that ridiculous cap. Either way...barf. Has her husband said anything on his twitter? It sounds like he has been using every angle available to defend her actions, so I think if something as simple as "open marriage" were out there he would have put that out there as an explanation immediately. And if they have an open marriage but he doesn't want to tell people about it, then its still disrespectful of her to behave that way in the house. From what I understand a lot of people with an open marriage are fine with you having sex with another person, they just don't want it shoved in their face and put out in public. -
But it wasn't just "thank you" it was "Thank you" + it was so unfair because I was pushed down even though I had creative ideas and I took risks + I was constantly pushed down which is really why I was an emotional wreck + its the judges fault for me being an emotional wreck because they were the ones that pushed me down in spite of my creative and risk taking designs + but someone else cried so this should make my crying okay. And by focusing on the crying she makes it seem like any critique of her has to do with the crying, she did way more than cry, she was shown passive aggressively manipulating her teammates in the unconventional materials challenge. And then crying when the result of her manipulations brought down her team's score, which I think was a further manipulation. I thought it was manipulative when Helen got upset with Sandro in the judging room because she was on the bottom in much the same way. And now I see her using these same passive aggressive "aw shucks" manipulations to get sympathy. Because honestly, other designers took bigger risks, and had more creative ideas which they were able to successfully execute. So why would she be shocked to be in the bottom when everyone else has just as many ideas, takes risks and successfully executes. And other designers have been constantly pushed into the bottom and didn't dissolve into a bucket of emotion. But, IMO, when you find fault with the judges for pushing you to the bottom in spite of your creative risk taking designs, to me, you're implying that you believe that either no one else took creative design risks, or that your creative design risks were so much better that they shouldn't have put you in the bottom in spite of being wholly unable to execute any of them.

She is truly slimy. That deposition tells me all I need to know about her. I thought I could have some nugget of respect for her as a person, but based on that deposition, there is no respect. She doesn't agree she is a public figure, she acts like child doodling when someone is asking her a question? She thinks she is being slick, but she lies about stupid shit and ends up looking like a slimy moron. If she comes out of this with her bar card intact the GA Bar Association should be ashamed of itself. -

I don't know - letting your kid hang for your crime doesn't seem all that bad ass to me, but I always had a problem with that guy since that happened. But Mormons with guns is not something you see everyday. I agree that the willing suspension of disbelief has been stretched pretty far. I can see why the Swede did it, because he maybe has convinced himself that it is the absolute truth, that he was meant to kill that guy and take over. But if thats the case, why wouldn't he just announce it to the entire congregation if he really thinks thats god's plan?

Well the idea of yelling "fruit loop dingus" at Zach does have a certain charm to it......
