  1. So am I the only one with issues about this episode? I know it's just a sitcom, but still. With the way business loans have tightened up lately, I can't see any way that Sherm would have gotten financing for that car/business, and he himself said he couldn't afford it (and leaving the crashed cars in the middle of the street isn't going to help matters any). And how is it that he opened up a significant new business but hadn't discussed it with any of these folks beforehand? Also, I thought it was so stupid and immature how Nicky and Michael broke up, although I did really like how they were in the back room with that owner and were ostensibly discussing the concept of the hidden back room but were really discussing the hidden nature of their relationship. (And given that Fay works there, how would they not already know about the back room?) And more significantly, just marrying a citizen doesn't mean nothing more is needed for staying in the US. Sure the marriage to Courtney means Simone doesn't have to leave right away, but in order to get the green card to stay, there will be an interview to determine whether it's a real marriage, and being so public about the sham nature of the marriage may likely cause real problems a few months down the road. But the main problem I had was the idea that a real, true friend would support you no matter what you were planning on doing. "Go along to get along" is what any old person off the street can do, but a true friend is one that loves you enough to sometimes take the hard way. We can be really blind to what we're actually doing sometimes and get swept up in newness or whatever, and a true friend is one who does what we can't do ourself. Also, I thought maybe the feeling would go away after one season, but I still sense no brother/sister chemistry/vibe at all between Nicky and Noah. But in spite of all this, I'm still drawn to the show!
  2. A little late in finding this series, but really liked it. I thought all the leads were very very good. The plot development I had the hardest time with, was how quickly Hannah turned around her entire personality. Yes the camp episode was traumatic, but we weren't shown any reason why the trauma resulted in the particular personality changes that she experienced. It also wasn't clear why Adam, after basically writing Libby off, would suddenly just take her back like that. And that is why it seemed so incongruous how he was so rapt at the story Libby was telling at the engagement party, and how he clearly wanted the ending to be Rachel coming back. What's more baffling to me, and I don't think was ever explained, is why it was always her dream to work for a men's magazine in the first place. No part of how we saw her in the flashbacks is consistent with having any desire at all to work at a place like that, let alone stay.
  3. And Travis was in a lot of skits, and did all of them well. It was truly awful.
  4. What show is that? Gina seems quite conflicted about this. On the one hand, when Clint made his comment, she said things about how it's hurtful to all curvy girls, and included herself. But on the other hand, when she was talking with the girls about the "slender" part, she said she has a 26" waist and is therefore slender. No, honey, that's not how this works. I can't remember the context of her comment now, but I remember thinking at the time she said it, "welcome to Mack's world", cause what she was complaining about seemed to be basically the position she put Mack in all the time with her comments/put-downs.
  5. We also met Delilah's mother, played by Patricia Richardson from Home Improvement.
  6. From watching the recent See No Evil episode Angel of Death, about nurse William Davis who killed patients by injecting air into their arterial lines, I was mystified by how little investigating the hospital apparently did even after becoming concerned. As shown in the episode, it appears to have been several years before they even analyzed the duty logs to see who had been on duty the evenings of the deaths (and there was too much finger-pointing between doctors and nurses as to where the fault lay for the deaths). And even after getting a new camera system (not sure if it was related to the incidents or not), they didn't look at the footage, or apparently at the footage from the old system, for quite some time. That seems lawsuit-worthy, so I tried to find information about whether any of the families have sued Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, TX, and all I can find is articles saying they have retained lawyers. Does anyone know if there has been any legal action taken?
  7. I saw an episode of A&E's Killer Cases called Murder on County Road M. The case was apparently also covered on 48 Hours. It's about Todd Kendhammer, and if you've seen this story, you'll probably recognize it when I say that he's the guy who said that he was driving with his wife, when a pipe came through the windshield and killed her. More memorable to me, is that when asked where they were going, he gave an answer about going to see a guy to install a windshield for him...but that was completely untrue. So in later interrogation he said he was just mixed up because he had been asked that question right after the accident and he was confused, but the real person he was going to install the windshield for was guy #2...except that again it was untrue. And then when he took the stand in his own defense after being charged with her murder, they asked him again where they had been headed that day, and he named guy #3. So while he was still testifying, the prosecution contacted guy #3 and found out that was false. What a piece of work!
  8. Accused: Guilty or Innocent is such a captivating show! The last episode, Killer Mom or Innocent Parent, was heart-breaking and infuriating. The case was basically suspected murder of her baby (child shaking), and during the time between the charges being filed and the actual hearing (over 2 years), her 3 children were removed from her (went to live with boyfriend/baby daddy and she visited daily), she lost her good job due to the charges and had to take a worser job on an overnight shift, and had to wear an ankle monitor with all the attendant restrictions, all because some prosecutor thought the baby looked "off" in a picture taken shortly before the baby died. Turns out it was due to rare complications from Sickle Cell Trait, and fortunately the prosecutor dropped the charges when they learned about the medical evidence (but they kept the "without prejudice", which means the charges can be filed again at any time). I was very surprised that she and her boyfriend/baby daddy managed to stay together during this time, because it would seem to be sooo hard to go through that. In the episode prior to that, Reckless Driving or Tragic Accident, that woman was sooo lucky that the original officer died of Covid before the trial, and therefore the prosecutor offered to plea to a lesser charge, because I think she would have been found guilty of whatever reckless charge they were bringing.
  9. Me neither. What made no sense to me was why complimenting all members of a group, except one, would lead to bigger tips. I could see if they were flattering each customer individually, with different compliments, that that would result in bigger tips. But the same generic compliments to everyone except one, doesn't seem like a good way to get big tips!
  10. Gotta disagree. I thought the ring actually looked dull and un-sparkly because of the band style, and it looked flimsy. I also hated her in the shirt dress, and liked her hair better curly where she looked distinct, as opposed to how her hair straighter looks more generic.
  11. Also, and here's a crazy idea, he could just move in with Colleen and NOT break his lease! Since he is seeming to imply that the rent is already a sunk cost to him, it doesn't matter whether he lives there or in Timbuktu. There's no reason he couldn't spend most of his time at Colleen's and a little at his place, just to be sure everything's still OK there. But even better, since he's soooo worried about the money, why not be the most cost-effective? Using a very conservative estimate of $1,000/month for his rent, if he broke the lease as soon as they were married and moved in with Colleen, that would have been $12,000 saved in rent not paid. Subtracting out the $5,000 for breaking the lease, that's still $7,000 he would not have wasted, and each month staying in the apt supposedly because of the breaking the lease penalty, is just more money wasted. Realistically, his rent is at least $1,500, which simply makes the timeframe quicker that it would have matched the $5,000 for breaking the lease. They just need to be up front about the real reason(s) they haven't moved in, and then this whole discussion would be moot. We would still probably find it stupid to be married and choosing to live together with NO timeline for moving in together, but at least they wouldn't also be hypocritical financial idiots! She also kept referring to how they say "we picked each other for a reason", and they use that as their motivation for getting through tough times. But actually, girlfriend did not pick him...she basically defaulted to him when her two real preferences noped out.
  12. Technically there is 6 years difference...Alexa is 27 and stepmom is 33. But truthfully, stepmom's face at times looks like she's in her 40s. I seriously wonder if she has lied about her age to Alexa's dad this whole time. Not to say she's not attractive, but with too much makeup on, she looks significantly older.
  13. Bingo! And that's what makes his pontificating so much worse. Well, he actually wasn't just sobbing over a short separation. His brain was all tangled up and he kept talking about how he won't abandon them. I think in his mind he was crying about all these terrible scenarios in his head that were worst-case emotion-based. I keep waiting to hear some sports tournament announcer talk about "winner go home". Yes, and that's why Dom could get away with saying, at the last-night group dinner, something about how it's a good thing she had experience dealing with 12-year olds. If a guy had said something like that, about his perceived immature wife, he'd be crucified. (But for the record, I'm still against what Clint said publicly in retaliation for what Gina said to him previously in private.) I could not get over the difference between how beautiful she looked at the last-night group dinner versus how awful she looks in that intro-segment photo from the wedding with her scary makeup.
  14. Sometimes listening to him gets pretty unbearable. He seems mature in other way, but in this way, not so much. It's so much more than just indifference or behaving like a toddler. It's what tinkerbell said: belittling, mean, and likely tinged with racism. Indifference is an absence of caring. And behaving like a toddler implies that someone doesn't know better. But what Christina did was intentional, especially to come right after having heard Charity say how happy she was. She wanted to ruin it for Charity and sow doubt at the same time, which is malicious and cruel. And I absolutely believe there were some racist undertones. I'm so glad Zach saw her comments for what they were and got rid of her ass.
  15. I've mentioned this before, but it started on the first season with Monet and Vaughn. She specifically talked about wanting a traditional man, and they sure gave her one. But she learned that you don't get to pick and choose which traits come along with a traditional man, and given that she was quite independent, she didn't end up liking many of the traditional man traits. They actually leaned into this, where she specifically talked about having learned that lesson. It has evolved to where the women are now talking about specific traits they want, rather than saying the vague "traditional man", but the premise still holds that those traits they say they want, are likely to go along with other traits they really don't want. This may have already been said, but only Gina talked about their luggage arriving late, and no one else indicated that it had happened to them as well. I had been noticing this trend since back on The Biggest Loser, when at the big reveal at the end, they always put the women in those way-too-tight-fitting dresses that looked cheap. It makes the women look waaayyy heavier than they are, as it did with Dom. What I found interesting about that, and the way they discussed it, is that it was clear that they had not picked out the activity themselves. That would kinda suck, to not be picking your own activities on your honeymoon! Gotta agree with Racj82. In fact, I just saw basically this exact same thing on this week's Bachelor. In week 1, the girl who got the first one-on-one had been designated as the villainess of the season. In week 2, she went on a group date and did not get the rose. She started complaining about how she was confused as to why she didn't get it, and making other thinly veiled insults. When the girls called her out on it, she was like, "But don't you want me to be honest? We shouldn't lie." Which of course completely overlooks that certain comments should just be held to yourself!
  16. I wondered specifically about the visit back to her years after he had already unlawfully taken them to Alaska. Her lawyer seemed to say that she shouldn't just match his unlawfulness by keeping them, but then why not go to the police and explain the situation that they had been unlawfully taken years ago and get the law on her side in terms of not just sending them back?
  17. I yelled this exact thing to my husband as I was watching the show, even down to the comment that this isn't California!
  18. I watched the Accused Guilty or Innocent episode called "Murder Mastermind or Innocent Witness". That case should never have been brought to court. After all those years, the only thing they had was the word of a clearly drugged-out witness, who had been basically compensated for her testimony. I liked how the defense attorney nailed her that if she said it was such a life-changing event, then how could she recall so few details about the phone call in which the suspect supposedly confessed. And OMG that detective was slimy, and I loved how the judge was not having any of his attempt to talk about "themes" rather than what the suspect actually said in that mysteriously not taped and no-notes-taken pre-interview.
  19. The Curious Caterer: Grilling Season was pretty good. But Goldy did something that I absolutely can't stand, and that is when people get mad at the detective because they are doing their job and considering everyone as a subject. So I guess that all detectives are supposed to take the word of their close friends when they say that they "know" Suspect X can't possibly be the killer? I bet that there are many killers whose current partners, ex-partners, kids, parents, etc. said the exact same thing. But there is one thing I was wondering about. When Goldy and the detective went to the cabin to tell her ex that his girlfriend had been killed, they were at a point in the conversation when I don't think they had told him yet how she was killed, yet he said something like, "I don't see how this is helping figure out why her grill exploded." So I kept waiting the whole time for that to be a major clue and that it really would be him!
  20. So what I am wondering is why we didn't get to see the scene where Zack tells Taj she can't join the group. Since the show thrives on drama, and built this plot development up with Zack specifically telling her he needed time to think, there had to be some reason for not showing us that, and instead just going directly to him telling the girls. Yes, Abigail...I just said that to someone yesterday! I absolutely think he was actually into Rachel, but was genuinely stunned by whatever true side he saw of her in the FS. It was Kalon (the luxury brands consultant) and he wasn't just displeased that Emily had a kid...he referred to her having a kid as "baggage", and deserved every bit of the backlash. Something about Christina reminded me of Vienna (from Jake's season), but when I saw Christina on the one-on-one date I thought that I was mistaken and that she must be genuinely nice/good/etc. But then I saw the previews, which seem to imply some sort of baiting or disparagement of other girls, and now I think maybe I was right about her being like Vienna. And they do it big-time on Bachelor in Paradise.
  21. The identity-stealing motive is real! We've seen a few cases of it -- Ari Squire, who went to Home Depot to scout for people who looked like him, so he could supposedly hire them to do construction, then kill them and plant his ID on them so it would look like he had died, and he could cash in on his $5M insurance; and Lois Reiss whose gambling got out of control and she killed her husband in Minnesota then went to Florida in search of a woman who looked like her and ended up killing Pamela Hutchinson. Well a woman in Germany just did the same thing. Sharaban searched for people on Instagram who looked like her, and finally found someone willing to meet with her, supposedly for some sort of cosmetics offer. Then Sharaban killed the woman, so that it would look like Sharaban was dead and she could then 'disappear' to avoid a family dispute. These crazy motives that would seem to be tabloid-invented do sometimes prove to be true, just like we have seen murders where a pregnant woman was befriended and then killed, or answered an ad for baby clothes and then was killed, so that some crazy woman could cut her open and take the baby to raise as her own
  22. Loved it! I was so excited when I saw the Fox NFL set with the five of them, but boy did the skit disappoint. It wasn't funny, Molly's Terry was awful, the Strahan stuff was mean-spirited, and Mikey's Howie in no way captured anything about Howie. I can't recall it right now but there was a skit with Molly early on, maybe something where they were in the SNL offices, and she was talking about her background or something, and it played perfectly to her strengths. But the Aidy 2.0 just ain't Molly. I wondered the same thing. They kept focusing on Kenan and Mikey even though they weren't really saying anything. I actually thought it was because there was some costume malfunction with a quick change that Aubrey and Heidi were supposed to do in the scene, and that Mikey and Kenan were vamping to stall for time. But that wasn't the case.
  23. Always. You're not the only one. I thought the skit perfectly mimicked what she would do in a Christmas special, and that Chloe absolutely nailed Coolidge.
  24. As I understand it, they don't actually just get up and walk over to him themselves; instead it is producer-led. I was really surprised that editing 'allowed' his comments to be aired. And I'm sure that what he calmly and politely said was just the tip of the iceberg. During his sit-down talk with her he specifically said she hadn't looked nervous in her limo entrance, even though she was soo clearly nervous. So either Zack is a bald-faced liar, or he was too nervous himself to notice! I'm not wild about how often he pops up...sort of Bachelor whore-ish. And it was clear he and Zack didn't know each other, by the way they greeted each other. But I did find it interesting that he said he didn't have an immediate OMG reaction to Catherine...I hadn't heard that before, and I also thought his advice about staying open to people who aren't his immediate front-runner was valuable.
