  1. Finally got through the latest Matchmaker. It took THREE tries. Seriously. This just isn't a good series. Danica isn't a good actor, and I just CAN'T with the matchmaker premise. Every single thing about that character and her job makes my teeth hurt. I have loved that HMM has come out with two new movies each month lately. While it would be awesome to have even MORE, it has been nice to have new movies on a regular basis. Hope this continues!
  2. Predictable, but comfortable. I enjoy this show. Love Queen Latifah and Aunt Vi. Like the detective. I like Chris Noth. I like Harry and Melody -- just not as a couple. I don't feel any chemistry there at all. I can absolutely live without the moody teen. It seems like they're building up to a relationship between the detective and Robyn. I don't know if I love that. I like the verbal sparring though.
  3. I agree with this. I was glad there was no overt aggression toward Ro in this one. That schtick has gotten old. They don't have to be friends -- though, frankly, by this point they really ought to be -- but the constant "Stay out of police business" just gets old.
  4. Yeah, it really stuck out, didn't it? In the scene where the murder occurred, I think "Call Lynn" was said three or four times. It would have been less noticeable to me if they'd made a simple statement like "Lynn had to miss the reunion because she took the kid to grandma" or something -- and then not had her in the movie at all. That she didn't attend because she didn't want to be around his high school friends is totally in character, but I would have expected a lot more of her once the murder occurred. I agree with the supposition above that the actress probably wasn't available.
  5. Heh. Horrible wig aside, I like Aurora. I was hoping, though, that this would be some sort of complex mystery where multiple people did it and covered for each other. It ended up not being terribly complex -- the person that the police were told did it, did it. Everything else was just distraction. Amanda has every right to be pissed, LOL.
  6. I agree 100%. The actors have grown into the roles, and the writers have gotten past the tiresome, "I'm a cop and you need to stay out of it" trope that gets so tired, so fast. I enjoyed this movie, and I'm looking forward to the next Aurora Teagarden movie next week.
  7. I wondered that too! The only thing I can think is that he signed a waiver. So many people would have to be in on that, though, which makes it all that more amazing that his secret never slipped.
  8. Anyone know when the second half will drop?
  9. I've seen a couple of people say everyone knows now except Ella -- but Trixie doesn't officially know either. Things I really want to happen: 1. God says, "What do you mean Chloe is a blessing for Lucifer? Poppycock. I did that blessing so TRIXIE would be born." 2. Trixie walks in on her parents, et al. discussing the celestials and asks what's happening. And when they try to deflect, she reveals that she knows full well that Lucifer is the devil and Maze is a demon. "Duh."
  10. Party scene on the boat: Put on your masks, people! Social distance! What is this, Hell? Oh. First scene with Chloe: Who IS that? If you told me that they had recast Chloe, I'd have bought it completely. She doesn't look anything like herself. Ella is still annoying. Maybe she'll be less so now that she's getting laid. Loved Lucifer's storyline. So glad to see Trixie. Dreading the baby.
  11. Thank you! I almost didn't recognize her. Look at :27. Is that Chloe??? I swear it looks like a different actress.
  12. Oh, I'm so glad! I enjoy this series. He acts about as well as a bag of rocks, but he's pretty to look at, and he has decent chemistry with his co-star. She's good in the role, and they're both likable.
  13. If I recall correctly, Sam was raised by her uncle after her parents' deaths. Her uncle owned the bookstore. Philby was his best friend. What I can't remember is whether the uncle was a spy too. I assume he was! This was sort of explained in the pilot, which isn't shown anywhere anymore, probably because they recast Philby and her DA best friend after it.
  14. I wish I could find the Mystery Woman pilot. I assume the reason they don't air it is because they recast two major characters (Cassie and Philby) afterward. Still wish they'd air it, though.
  15. I know, right? The most recent Matchmaker wasn't nearly as bad as the first, but it wasn't even on the same playing field as Emma Fielding or Darrow and Darrow.
  16. In this case, since -- as you noted -- it was a foregone conclusion that he would choose the house in the development with his friends, I expect the budget was determined by the houses in that development. No reason to look at million dollar homes where you're going to choose one for $150K.
  17. We don't know what the dispute IS. It could be that now that COVID-19 has screwed things up, the filming of season 6 MOVED and now conflicts with other things he committed to doing.
  18. There always are. I HATE it. I love this channel, but there are MONTHS every year where they destroy the content and send me elsewhere. Bah humbug! They need to make an effing Christmas channel and stop violating this one with their wholesomeness.
  19. I enjoyed this one, personally. I guessed the killer when we first saw her in the gym, because she is too familiar to be used for a bit part. Once I guessed the killer, it was pretty easy to figure out the motive. But, as I've said before, I don't watch these movies for the plotting. I watch them because they're fun and comfortable. I enjoyed all the characters -- and the plot in general. I don't love how they're writing/acting their burgeoning relationship, but it's pretty stereotypical of a police detective/amateur detective pairing, so I don't let it bug me too much.
  20. I enjoyed seeing him too. I noticed that this particular movie was FILLED with actors I recognized from other mysteries -- at least THREE from Garage Sale Mysteries.
  21. My guess is that's why, though they're following the books so loosely that it doesn't necessarily have to be that. It could also be because the actor didn't want to continue or they wanted Aurora to have a love interest rather than a husband.
  22. Watched this last night and have to agree with the comments above. I guessed the killer when he was introduced -- but it doesn't matter. I don't watch these mysteries for their originality. I watch them because they're comfortable and fun. I think Jill and Kristopher are my favorite mysteries couple. I love how their relationship is directed. It's professional when it needs to be, respectful always -- without emasculating him or victimizing her, and convincingly friendly. The flirting is appropriate and not over-the-top. Neither is falling over themselves because they're suddenly tongue-tied in the presence of a crush. They're NORMAL. I love her dad too!
  23. You have it reversed. These shows were taped months ago. Her talk show is likely taped a day or two before it airs.
  24. Lyle Waggoner passed away. I saw him in reruns of The Carol Burnett Show, but he was the object of my first childhood crush when he played Steve Trevor on Wonder Woman. RIP, Lyle. https://deadline.com/2020/03/lyle-waggoner-dead-carol-burnett-show-wonder-woman-actor-was-84-1202885749/
  25. THRILLED to hear this! Filming will likely be postponed, but fingers crossed it is rescheduled. I think these were my favorite!
