  1. Word. There's that moment where he says something like "It's an important job" and she counters with "Matchmaking isn't an important job?", and I'm like "NO, no, it is not. You are a money-grubbing fame whore." That's when I realized I probably shouldn't watch it.
  2. I think this was utterly stupid. I won't even TRY to learn their names because of that. The smart move would have been to name the with names beginning with A - D, from oldest to youngest.
  3. 1. Girl in the box. I don't think it's was Dad's play thing. I think it was Mom's. That's why it was at home. Everyone else was killed away from home, right? 2. The black mambas in the corpse. So the killer cut a hole in the abdomen and put the snakes in. Okay, but there's no access to the mouth from the abdomen. He'd have had to insert them into the stomach. And hey, the acid there? Would have killed them. Sorry, but that dog don't hunt.
  4. Just watched the most recent Ruby Herring movie. Good Lord, is there a place where I can petition to get those two hours back? Ruby Herring is a STUPID name. The two leads have NO chemistry. None. The trope of "Police detective reluctantly work with the amateur detective who just happens to be a better detective than the entire police force combined" is TIRED. Really tired. And they don't do it well.
  5. You say, "You failed, and you will fail every time you write like this in my class. Welcome to the real world where you're expected to communicate like grownups."
  6. That's what I think too. BTW, this morning I was dreaming -- and reading in the dream -- and it surprised me so much it woke me up! LOL. It was one of those half asleep, half awake dreams, so it probably doesn't count. But I laughed about it anyway.
  7. It was. I guess that was part of her dream? We're never exactly sure when she's dreaming and when she isn't in those sequences.
  8. How do you know he isn't covered by insurance? I don't know anyone who pays for their therapy anymore.
  9. I loved it. It wasn't paced as tightly as, say, Prodigal Son, so I was afraid I wouldn't like it, but I absolutely loved it. Disclaimer: I could watch Mike Coulter read the phone book. He is distractingly handsome. Like I-can't-stop-staring-when-he's-on-the-screen handsome. I think the premise is wonderful. It's X-Files based in the Catholic Church rather than the FBI. I'm totally okay with that. I think they did a great job in their investigating, and I love that they will be debunking along the way. I'm in. Totally. I don't for one minute believe that her debt is student debt. I bet medical debt -- and I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that the husband isn't actually taking people up Everest.
  10. I got the idea that he's in a sanitarium, not prison.
  11. Snort. I assume they're trained before they become sleepers, and they hand wave the YEARS of discipline those skills require and the erosion of those skills when they're not used. This was the problem I had with The Matrix. Uploading knowledge is well and good, but you can't upload muscle memory. Still, I'll check it out. I can usually ignore this sort of fantasy nonsense for a gripping story.
  12. https://deadline.com/2019/09/grace-and-frankie-to-end-with-seventh-season-becomes-netflixs-longest-running-original-1202710410/ Renewed for seventh -- and final -- season. Even though I watch, it hadn't really "clicked" that G&F is on Netflix. It's really amazing that Netflix gave it seasons 6 and 7. They're rather infamous for cancelling series after five seasons.
  13. Earlier this year, I believe. I put off watching, because I just wasn't excited about the casting or the premise. Finally caught the first one last weekend and loved it! The casting worked. That's how I feel as well! I've been ridiculously excited all month for these movies.
  14. You made me curious, so I decided to look up the etymology. I found this on m-w.com: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/loan
  15. Is that the one with Holly Robinson Peete? I like here, but dang, Rick Fox is AWFUL. I mean, he's nice to look at, but she has more chemistry with an office chair than with him. He is just dead in that role. I haven't hated the movies... just regretted his casting.
  16. Just watched it a second time and loved it even more. JLM's acting in this role is simply incredible. Understated, and yet every emotion is there, so close to the surface. The scene where he confronts Joan about her diagnosis just blows me away. His voice, the speed with which he speaks, his eyes, his body language... JLM is a master actor. I will miss this show so much! I wish it could have kept going forever.
  17. That SUCKS. The episode is available for purchase on Amazon now (without commercials) if you don't want to wait.
  18. I've loved getting caught upon the mysteries over the last week or two. We were out of the US for a year, and I fell behind! I've enjoyed most of the series in general, even though the individual movies aren't always fantastic. I wish they would have more new movies throughout the year and keep the popular ones in perpetual rotation. How about four new movies per year from every franchise?
  19. I don't know the answer to your question. Just want to offer the info that Amazon Prime offers the episodes for a couple of dollars beginning a day or so after release. So if anyone misses it because of football, it can be purchased (and is commercial free!).
  20. Pretty sure the new will was legal. The only problem with it in the end that I remember was the typo, and they said there were legal ways to get that fixed.
  21. This bugged me. I was glad to get a new movie, but really bummed that this was absolutely meaningless to the main plot. I wanted it to BE the main plot, even though that's a well known trope. I like that trope. The story they did was, as you noted, unnecessarily complex to the point of being ridiculous. And Aurora was treating Nick like crap to the point that I thought he should dump her ass. Wasn't this the first movie where they didn't have a book to base it on? Showed.
  22. Snort. You're right, though we've heard of no siblings. I wonder how old this Aurora is supposed to be? In the books Phillip was her half brother. Her father divorced her mother, married a much-younger woman, and had a second family. We see him first as a small boy and then again more frequently when he's old enough to be interesting. I love series that allow their characters to age.
