Then I would ask: "WTF is wrong with them?" Or perhaps they're 12?

Yes, 1000X YES! I think you may have hit on what Jensen was going through. I just finished a post in the episode thread in which I wondered how he was able to deliver the dialog. I can't be angry with him for doing his job, but I am angry with both of the Js for not getting EP standing that could have hopefully avoided something like this. They (especially Jensen) should have seen the writing on the wall. And I hate Badd with the heat of a thousand suns. Fuck him and his entire writing staff!

I have come to the conclusion that I find each episode more aggravating, insulting, infuriating, and loathsome than the last. I cannot understand how Jensen was able to deliver the dialog on the page. If anyone had any doubts about the level of his acting ability, all they have to do is watch this episode, and see the master actor that can act against his own character. I agree with all that has been said about the absurdity and downright nastiness shown Dean. It was so obvious that they were out to show MEEN DEEN that I almost did throw something at the TV. And yes, Glynn has finished drinking her KoolAid. It's hard to believe that she once wrote an episode that was positive toward Dean. I am so angry and sad that this once favorite show has become something that I dread to see how they're going to ruin it next. BTW, where's the gag emoji?

Supernatural Smackdown: The Winchester Dynamic Duo vs Other Shows
FlickChick replied to DittyDotDot's topic in Supernatural
@bethy - Great post! I loved the series and the character of Cole especially. And yes, he did remind me of our Dean in many ways. Actually, what impressed me most about the time-traveling series, is how brilliantly they wrapped it up - with it actually making sense going back to the beginning. That's impressive with any series, but with time-travel it's nothing short of a miracle. -
All through the series Dean (and sometimes Sam) talked about a "Butch & Sundance" ending. So Dabb certainly won't give them (especially Dean) that. I think since Jared loves the ending, Sam must get to be the Big Damn Hero - perhaps join Nougat Sue with ruling the last remaining earth. And Dean, well Dean has to accept that and go off alone (into the sunset?) just like we saw him in the Pilot. Because Dean has always said that everybody leaves him. Now, wouldn't Dabb just love this ending?

Every time I watch "Regarding Dean", I have to watch "Broomstick Cowboy" at least twice; sometimes more. It encapsulates who Dean would be if not for his hunter upbringing. But also, as mentioned above, it also shows who he is even now as a person - finding light in the darkness; good outside of evil; and joy in the simple things in life. Dean Winchester is my favorite character of all time, and no one, can diminish him in my eyes. NO ONE, especially BADD who doesn't hold a candle to Jensen in any shape or form.

Well, what would you expect under Badd's tenure? After all, he is first and foremost a comic book writer. That explains many things about why this show has become the mere shadow of what is once was. I mentioned, back in S7/S8 that these writers need to be required to watch the complete show as background for the characters before putting down one word in a script. I think Robbie Thompson is the only one who did.

Bravo! But then, the small minds that write this show couldn't have any fun watching Sam and Dean talking over one another and fighting. And more importantly, having Dean apologize to Sam later for his serious sin of keeping info from Sam for what, maybe a few days while Cas looks for something else. I say, let's tar and feather the current writers and then we can employ more sensible writers like you!!! The whole thing is just so sad going into the final few episodes of a record-breaking genre series.

Ha! And I thought you were making a joke/jibe about the "Wayward Sisters" spin-off never being part of Chuck's universe because it failed to be picked up. Thus the orange smiley. 😉

I agree. His acting choice was over the top. I believe I called him Sanctimonious Sam. And trust me, he doesn't have a leg to stand on!
-
I think Jensen was spouting the company line - just like he always has whether or not he agrees with TPTB. He found out what happens when he was angry enough to mention the wire-act faux-pa in the S13 finale. And yeah, I agree with @PAForrest that he's just glad it's over. Which IMO is really sad. 😞

I almost forgot what he looked like when his hair was longer. I like it longer than he has for Dean, but only if it looks as good as this! Wow!!!!

As I said somewhere on this forum, the worst thing the guys could have done is give Badd a full season to screw them over for ending the show. They should have given him two episodes to wrap it up in S14. Now he's had a whole year to make sure he can demean the Winchesters (while making it Jacknatural) to the best of his ability.

My guess is that each time they went out on a hunt, they came back to a new holiday to celebrate. I got the impression that not much time had passed during the episode - perhaps a couple/few weeks. We need a "24 Clock" with these writers. We had one of those in "Plucky's"!

I'm having a really hard time coming to terms that we are going to lose new stories with Dean Winchester. I've watched since day one, so I'm invested despite the last lousy Badd seasons (pun intended). I've been watching a lot of reruns going all the way back to the beginning looking for things that I want to tuck away in my mind about Dean. I found one - Dean always has put his hands around a coffee mug to drink from it since the beginning of the show - and he still does. Sam uses the handles. It made me wonder, is that how Jensen drinks his coffee? Anyway, I'm losing it - I know that. Can't imagine how I'm going to be six weeks from now. I'm going to miss this character like I've lost a good friend. I wonder too, if Jensen feels the same way and more.

Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
FlickChick replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
Well the writing was indeed on the wall concerning Badd even with his botched season 11 finale. I recall the guys talking about the final three episodes not making sense and having to rewrite several parts of them in order to make them cohesive. So Badd's inexperience in handling being a good showrunner was evident even before he set out to, and finally succeeded in ruining the show going forward. So I'll take Carver any day over this asshole. No he wasn't perfect; neither was any other showrunner or writer. At least he entertained me. -
I saw it last night. I just caught up with The Boys. Waiting to see the finale on Friday. This show is really, shall I say as they say, fucked up! Never let Kripke loose on cable. And yes, I know it's based on a comic book, so he is following their lead. One way or the other, this will be a new experience for Jensen after so many years on major network TV. 😉

I thought it was the latter - because of the man's rudeness. If it were an accidental bump followed with a "sorry", I think he'd still be alive. Of course, just my view of the scene because of the way Death rubs the contact point off his shoulder. It took a conscious thought from Death, IMO.

His costar is Jared. Apparently you've missed all the talk around here about how thin and unhealthy Jared looks. I've stood next to Jensen - trust me - he doesn't have a "dadbod". But obviously, you're entitled to your own opinion, as am I.
