That's too bad @DeeDee79. I have not reacted that way because I believe that's exactly what Badd was hoping would be the result of his decimation of the show. I wouldn't give him the satisfaction. I agree, in my mind I view the end of S11 as a satisfactory ending sans BitchBrit. I wouldn't even mind Dean getting Mary back if she continued to act as she did in her first two episodes. But I still relish watching the earlier, and much better episodes in order to see Jensen's phenomenal portrayal of my favorite character of all time - Dean Fucking Winchester.

I wonder if Jensen needed more than one costume to be made and if they've been filming around that. In the photo above, he looks very different from more recent pics of his hair/beard so he took that photo with the truck at a very different time or he has a very different look now. Take your pick. But one way or the other, it's over a month since they started filming, so I can't believe he hasn't started his parts yet.

I was reading some fan-fiction and had a thought - can you imagine if we got to watch Dean Winchester on HBO, Amazon, etc.? What a glorious thing that would be. There we could witness the gritty, hard existence of Dean's life. See his fear and depression in full color so to speak, hear his true cries of despair, enjoy his fun excursions to the fullest. In many ways, I feel like we would see a harder, time-worn Dean, probably more realistic in many ways, than the character we've watched for so many years. I know not everyone would like this version of Dean, but Jensen would have knocked it out of the park.

I cannot believe there will ever be such an iconic character on our screens again. Series don't go on as long as fifteen years, and they certainly won't have an actor/character as well-played as Jensen/Dean were. What's really sad to me going forward is that I'll compare every other character to Dean and be disappointed in what I see. I really, really miss Dean.

I didn't know they existed, but I just watched them. My take-away is mixed feelings. He got some facts wrong, but those were minor. I thought he skipped some important scenes/episodes, and focused on others that I considered less important. But my biggest *what?* was that he didn't start where the viewer did and then gradually learn about things along the way. Rather, he literally started at the beginning of the universe, thus revealing many things we didn't learn until several seasons later. I didn't think that was a good choice, but all in all, not too bad.

@BabySpinach, fabulous artwork! I miss Dean so much and the way in which he influenced every being, and fit in wherever he was. Such an iconic character!

If Jensen and family are still in Colorado, they're better off than in Texas with this crazy weather. However, I wonder what they will come home to with no heat and probably burst pipes like Jared is dealing with. Living in Chicagoland, we get this ultra cold weather as a routine. But we're prepared for it and usually have very few power outages which makes all the difference. I currently have about 24" of snow in my yard with drifts about 3'- 4' deep. Fun times...for kids. 😉

I still maintain that those episodes were a deliberate FU to all the fans by Badd. But back on topic, I too loved all the episodes mentioned so far. I think S2 has always been my favorite, although I loved many episodes from other seasons, especially "Lazarus Rising" and "Abandon All Hope" from another good season. I am still enjoying watching them and putting all the attempts by Badd to ruin this series out of my head. As an aside, I've often wondered how the show would have progressed if Kim Manners was still with us. Such a great loss. We've had some great directors over the seasons, and much first rate acting, and as mentioned above, great cinematography, so all in all, the series has much merit despite the last seasons.

See, this is why I'm not letting Badd's abysmal last season affect my enjoyment of the show in re-watches. The finale in particular was nothing but a stab in the back to all Dean fans and to the actor who played him - pun intended. In my mind, the final season never happened and Badd can take his story and shove it where the sun don't shine.

That's true, sad to say. But Dean was very depressed in S7 because of Cas' "death" originally, and then the loss of Bobby, while worrying about Sam's mental condition due to his "hellucinations". Even when Bobby's ghost returned to them, Dean knew it wouldn't work as he sat in the car and told Sam "What are the odds that this works? What are the odds?" It was only after Cas came back and healed Sam that Dean could almost feel like himself, but he was still determined to find a way to kill Dick Roman. And look what that cost?
-
That struck me as well - he hardly moved, stood very still while Bobby was talking to him. I felt it was a deliberate decision on Jensen's part to play it that way to indicate Dean wasn't all that happy to be there. Obviously that's only the way I interpreted the scene, and maybe something else was going on there.

I only watched the finale once so far, but I recall that Dean said "keep fighting" to Sam before he died. So, I was surprised to see Sam pack his things, turn off the lights and leave "the greatest treasure trove of supernatural lore on the planet". I understand that it would be difficult to live there with his brother gone, but apparently he never went back, and we didn't see any "fighting the supernatural" in his montage life. I have no idea then why Jared would say that Sam left hunting because he thought that's what Dean wanted for him.

Love this pic from WIAWSNB. He's so beautiful then and now. And more importantly, the man who portrays our beloved Dean above is a true gentleman. Happy, Happy Birthday (whatever number-who can keep track with all the time jumps) Dean Winchester!!! 🍔🍺
