  1. Um..... backs slowly out of the room...with my cashback bonus funds...
  2. I like both teams, too. But I had to pick one for the pool I'm in on another board. So...let's go 49ers! And "the experienced guy"!!
  3. While I'm sure my phone and Google know where I am at all times, and what I say at all times, I still will never have one of those smart speakers in my house. And, I'm no fan of Ellen. That said, I thought the commercial was funny and clever.
  4. Raises hand! But not too quickly. That could be dangerous,
  5. Okay, I loved the Doritos commercial. Especially the horse saying no way I'm doing that.
  6. I think it was 4 disparate groups of people descending on an eating establishment and all finding Heinz... thereby bringing the universe together. Or I need to be drinking more wine...
  7. She was. No cuts to A-Rod in the audience. Someone was saying before the game that there would be at least one.
  8. Mr. ebk is impressed with the set and camera work. Because he's a stagehand... I'm sure he hasn't noticed anything else...
  9. Costco is having a clothing sale...if you're all looking for something to do at the moment.
  10. True - I hate pretzels. And Fox News. But the Pop Tarts commercial was at least funny.
  11. Heh. Pop Tarts are a thing in my family. That made me laugh.
  12. There are actual cheerleaders for the actual teams there? Honestly, I think cheerleaders should be gone after high school. And I mean that in the best possible way...
  13. I think it was merged into this one a while ago. Meanwhile, if you'd like to join the actual game thread, where we are talking about the commercials, please come on over!
  14. I don't know, but the guy in the helmet with the glazed smiling expression turning his face slightly to the camera made me laugh.
  15. Sorry Michalob Ultra - as much as I'd love to transition farmland to organic farmland, you make shitty beer.
  16. I admit, I cried a little. Possibly because of personal circumstances at the moment.
  17. This is such a weird thing that I have to make sure I pay attention to the commercials instead of automatically coming back here to read. No on Wal-Mart. Maybe on Black Widow. Leaning yes to Jason Momoa-Rocket Mortgage.
  18. We need a "sigh" emoji And a "love" emoji...
  19. I don't usually like the Rob Riggle segments, but that one with Pit Bull - and Larry King! - was pretty funny.
  20. I found JJ Watt charming. He did really well with the not-so-great material he was given. I laughed several times during the show, although the only line the pops into my head at the moment was about his mom wanting to have a kicker so she could dress him up. I like country music and I hated Luke Combs. I love your observation @ICantDoThatDave - Country Music Mad Libs! Overall, I didn't hate the show. I didn't love the show. I was there and amusing for 90 minutes, then promptly forgotten. I wouldn't mind JJ coming back to host, although I'm not sure how likely that would be.
  21. Seems I missed this while I was driving home Alicia singing with Brittany Howard! I love Brittany, but I kinda miss her hard rock days. I'm not sure I'm totally with her with her new sounds. It's also too bad she sorta disappeared halfway through that number.
  22. I'm so sorry... You're totally correct. Even though English is allegedly my first (and only) language, I find that I often barely speak it - and certainly don't write it with any competence 😄
  23. I was in first grade when Kennedy was shot. I don't really remember much of that day (I think we only went half days at that time, so I may have been out of school already). I do remember that I had the day off for the funeral and I couldn't watch cartoons. I wasn't happy. 9/11 - Mr. ebk was on the train to NY for labor negotiations. I was in the shower when the radio said a traffic plane had hit the tower. I was ironing, and watching TV, when the second tower was hit. And then the Pentagon. I work in Virginia (not that close to the Pentagon), so I didn't want to go in, but my boss said I had to. Which turned out to be for the best since I didn't have a computer at home, so when my friend in NY emailed me to ask how I was, I was there and was able to tell him where Mr. ebk was supposed to be. He walked over and fetched him and brought him back to his office. Since the phones weren't working in NY, this eased my mind a lot. Mr. ebk got home around 11 that night and I've never been so happy to see someone in my life.
