  1. Thanks for reminding me that I need to watch the Cordon segment.
  2. I use something heavy (a knife handle, serving fork...) and smack the lid all the way around and it opens easily afterward. For anyone coming in at the top of the page, I'm talking about smacking the lid on a jar to help open it. Not smacking anything else...really...
  3. It's in the Ed Sullivan office building. I think I read somewhere that it used to be a storage closet, but was "renovated" for this. I also think that Stephen said he didn't want to go into an empty theatre because it's so big and would be too depressing. Or something like that. Those 2 things are off the top of my addled head, so they may be true, or I may have just dreamed them... The theatre is big, and very beautiful. I hope they can get back in soon with a proper audience.

No!!!! If they stop it after 12, how would be get John Denver again for the 14th inning stretch??? I hate the guy on second. So there.
  5. And........here's the YouTube.
  6. I love "Mr. Sandman" and especially enjoyed Stephen doing busy-work behind it. The entire monologue was on fire!
  7. I just watched a Washington Post Live with Jon. He's amazing. If I ever again say I couldn't love him more, remind me that I'm wrong. I'll post the YouTube as soon as the Post posts it! Actually, you can watch it on the Post site, although I can't say whether it counts as one of your articles if you're not a subscriber. I'll still post the YT link when it appears. Enjoy! https://www.washingtonpost.com/washington-post-live/2021/04/27/race-america-giving-voice-with-jon-batiste/
  8. Two quotes from the NYT live feed that made me laugh: There’s a reason why they call it a Hollywood ending. This wasn’t one of those. That was the “Game of Thrones” of Oscar endings.
  9. I'm glad I got to spend this weird - really weird - evening with everyone here. Certainly made it more fun. Till the next one, whatever it is ... not the Tonys, maybe the Kennedy Center Honors?
  10. Well, that didn't end like I thought it would.
  11. So happy - I love H.E.R.! Also loved the movie.
  12. Jon Batiste wins an Oscar!!! This is all I've been waiting for this evening. Yay!!!
  13. I've not seen this movie, but Youn Yuh-jung is delightful! And funny!!
  14. Seems so. The NYT said something like "newly streamlined" sound award. I did not read the details, though.
  15. Voiceover lady - I swear we're running on time. That better be correct! Or I'll... just be watching later...
  16. Agree. I'm really looking forward to ITH.
  17. Yes. She's playing Doc. That trailer did not make me want to see the movie.
  18. It really is. I was there a couple of years ago and just love the architecture and decor! This show looks like it's on film as opposed to...live on video? Whatever it usually looks like. I like it.
  19. The Twins are on Colbert tonight. I wonder why...

That's it. I'm in the immediate suburbs, worked in DC forever, and even lived there for 3 years before moving back out to Goatville. Don't ask...

I guess it depends on how old you are? I also live in Maryland and am quite familiar with Chocolate City. I'm also ancient.

I usually just drink more. Sometimes, if it's really bad, I'll alert an usher, but that's a crapshoot as to whether it will result in anything. So, I just drink more. Or move. As you said, my ballpark is rarely full...
