I'm glad you brought this up because I don't understand the whole campaign. What does the "New Chris Paul" have to do with buying insurance? I know when this is explained to me, I'll feel stupid, but probably not stupider than i feel now since I just don't get it.

I remember the 4 OT Caps - Islanders playoff game way back in 198something. I left work during overtime, and 40 minutes later, got home and the game was still on. And then it was over and I was sad - and exhausted.

Every time I finish an MLB Fans-At-Bat survey, when they ask if I have any more comments, I write "Why does the commissioner hate baseball?" They have yet to reach out to me to chat...

Honestly, at this point, while I"m really happy to watch whatever baseball is on my TV, the whole thing is kinda like a giant exhibition. New (stupid) rules, only playing in your region, rearranging the schedule (not that I"m not thrilled to be playing the Yankees tomorrow... sigh...). All of this just means this season has no actual meaning. They're just making it up as they go along. And while watching baseball is always good, but whoever "wins" will not really be champions. At least not in my addled mind. Even if it was my team (hahahahahahaha... did I mention our a/c is out and my brain is mush?). Also, it just seems really dangerous to those folks out there. (I take part of that back. If the Os win it all, it counts! 🙂 )

Mr. ebk said 2 weeks. I don't think we'll make it through 1 week. This makes me sad.

Oh dear - it's like you know me 🙂 Except I'm not really proud of all those qualities. It's just...me. Honestly, @UYI and @Annber03, you are 2 of my favorite people here in PTV land! (I hope I"m allowed to say that) I appreciate your contributions and sincerity. I'm just old and cynical and when I said it was the end of times, I guess I just meant that Olivia de Havilland had been here so long that she was never supposed to die. So it feels like the end of times. She was an incredible talent and seems like an incredible person. Thanks for the Letterman video @UYI. Dave was my first thought when I heard about Regis. I love Dave.

Got in the car just as the pre-game show was starting. And, yeah, I cried. Fortunately, there's no traffic on the Beltway now, so I didn't hit anyone. Got home just as the game started. I'm so happy it's The Season! And, the game sucks. So, things are normal... 🙂 I'm hoping we get at least 2 weeks in before it all falls apart...

When I turned on the game last night, I thought it was supposed to be live, but I saw people in the stands and figured I was wrong ... until I remembered that I'd read about the cardboard people. I kinda love the cardboard people. Fortunately, tonight I was watching Perry Mason, so I missed the strikeout whistle. I hate the strikeout whistle 🙂 (I'm loving Perry Mason, though)

I have no deep analysis to impart here (and I do enjoy everyone's deep analysis), but I have to say that ending was The Best Thing Ever!! I'm really enjoying this show so far.

That commercial was for Aviation Gin, owned by Ryan Reynolds, and it made me laugh so much that I went out and bought a bottle. And I don't even like gin.
