RIP Joe Allen (from the NY Times) I've eaten some fabulous meals at his restaurants, and spent time with some fabulous people there. All 3 of his places have temporarily shut down during the Plague, but I fervently hope they reopen. And if they do, and you're in NYC go eat there!

I don't really have an opinion on The Weeknd's music (it's...fine), but I do find him charming whenever he's on SNL. I especially like "The Weeknd Update."

I spent a lovely afternoon at the Holbrook/Carter house way back in the day. A friend of mine was friends with one of her daughters. He was quite delightful (Hal... although my friend is also quite delightful).

Oh yeah! Someone else has found the show and this thread! Welcome!! I've been tempted to post here lately because I think this season so far has been stellar. Ray Wylie Hubbard's debut performance (why did it take so long for ACL to have him???) was fab. And the anniversary shows (John Prine, Asleep At The Wheel, etc.) have been so enjoyable.

I thought he was totally charming and would love to see him come back. After they get some new writers maybe...

Yeah... after the open, there wasn't much there. A few lines in Update (and no, Scorcese isn't like that in the series, which is wonderful - everyone should watch it!) including the wonderful Bowen-as-Fran and Cathy Anne, and then the Supermarket Sweep sketch were the only parts where I even smiled. Ah well... it has to get better, right?
