And taking the Friday before a long weekend off is great. I just wish Ali hadn't come on saying this would be a 2 hour version of The Rachel Maddow Show... without Rachel. I love Ali, and 2 hours of Ali is great, but don't try to tell me it's TRMS. It's okay to pre-empt your regularly scheduled shows for a holiday. Really. Also, when does Ali sleep?

Okay. I'll admit that if that was his point (and it's a good point), it went totally over my dumb head. Maybe people need to have the good points stated out loud because (in my case anyway) deep, critical thinking isn't a strong skill. I was disappointed in the rant. Have I mentioned here that I love Jon Batiste? My god, he's amazing. That was amazing. He'd better come through town on tour soon! The beginning of the show was great. The end of the show was great. I'm still working through my thoughts on the middle of the show. Still, on the whole, it's so good to see everyone back together!

I agree that I side-eyed the opening with Steve Buscemi, but I loved the outtakes over the closing credits. So I guess it was worth it to get there. Interested to find out where she is.

I'm sorry. I thought I clarified that I know they were doing the best with what they knew. I shouldn't have used the quotes. Won't do that again. Everything was so uncertain. How could anyone know at that stage the definitive facts. We're still evolving with this virus. And the docs are still doing the best they can to disseminate pertinent information as it becomes available. I wish more people were listening.

Did anyone watch last night? They reran the last episode in the Ed before it all went bad. It was weird. And interesting how much things have changed in a year regarding what we know about Covid (although if we didn't know more, that would be bad). Dr. Gupta was imparting "facts" that turned out not to be so "fact-y". But honestly, it was fine because no one knew anything at that moment and we were all doing the best we could. I thought it was a good set-up for Monday. I'm sooooooo looking forward to Monday.

I noticed a couple night ago, he left out the mask part entirely. Then put it back in. Then changed it up as you indicated last night. I obsess over this stuff all too much...

I really dislike Fallon, so I almost didn't watch this. But...Broadway. And Lin. And it was annoying at the beginning, but somewhere in the middle, I teared up. Dammit. Nicely done by all.

I checked YouTube. She's Dr. Jessica Ware. And she's wonderful.

I also live here and have been to the KC about eleventy billion times (although haven't been to The Reach yet). I just couldn't figure out where they were filming the intros. I didn't recognize the low ceilings. I think it's probably somewhere upstairs, but I'm not sure. Mr. ebk promises to ask his brothers who are stagehands there and worked the show. I just have to make sure he doesn't forget.
