Having the camera guys running alongside the baserunners could make for an interesting viewpoint...except that they keep getting the cameramen in the picture when another camera takes the shot. Blech.

If you lived here in the Capital of The Free World , you'd hear a lot about him. He's really been nothing short of fabulous since his debut last year. And he's made the return of the Face of the Franchise - Ryan Zimmerman - a bit problematic. I am flummoxed at Matt Williams' decision to take Jordan Zimmermann out. I think he outsmarted himself there.

Brad Ausmus won't have to miss a game since the game today ended (seemingly just) before sunset and tomorrow is a travel day. Went to the game again today. Orioles Magic - Feel it Happen! :-)

Went to the O's game this evening. What an electric night at the ballpark!! I know I should get some sleep since I have to get up early for parking (!), but I'm a bit keyed up. And, there's more baseball on the TV! Great start for my team. Hope we can keep it going!

The good thing about the game tonight is that I get to go to bed before 2:30am. The not-so-good thing is that now the O's game on Friday is at noon, so I have to get up early to get parking. Woe is me... :-)

I did see it, and it was awesome. I think he pie'd a couple of fans in addition to several people on-field. He's a lot of fun.
  10. But you had way more fun!
  11. Did I mention the theatre is dark at the moment? Last night Mr ebk made butter chicken from a recipe he found in the NYT Magazine a while back. It was delightful. Tonight was what we used to call pizza burgers in my misspent youth - burgers with leftover spaghetti sauce, mushrooms and parmesan cheese. And wine. Yum!
  12. The show is over, so Mr ebk is home again (I'm off the soup!). Tonight it was brisket rubbed in some sort of chili thing from Penzy's, and roasted cauliflower. Yum!! Mr ebk never liked cauliflower before (or at least thought he didn't), but since he's gone low-carb, he's discovered that he loves it. Yay for me! I will pass the recipe above on to him. Thanks! And a Most Happy Birthday WendyCR72!!

How bout dem O's!!!!! Yes, I know I just posted that, but... wow. I'm really happy right now!!
  14. Tonight is the last night my friends from Tucson are here. We went out for Indian food. I had a samosa chat, then lamb biriyani. Also at the table was chicken biriyani, chicken tikka masala, and a wonderful side dish of cauliflower and peas. That was after a couple of soups and some garlic shrimp. And there was wine. I'll never eat again...

How bout dem O's!!! A fine time at the ballpark tonight. I hope Derek Jeter enjoys his farewell gifts.
  16. Not sure if this should go here, but CBS is now running the show on weekend nights after your late night local news. So I watched the pilot last night. I hadn't seen it since it aired. Things have certainly changed a whole lot since then... Second episode tonight (but I had guests so wasn't paying full attention). This makes me much happier than the reruns of Criminal Minds, since I can't stand watching that show.
  17. Tonight, I had dinner with my sister. Pizza (with mushrooms, eggplant and zucchini) and a salad. And...Nebbiolo! I love my sister. And pizza. And wine.
  18. Maddie and Tae are going to be on Letterman sometime this week - at least that's what I thought I read although I can't find any evidence of it at the moment. They also did this piece on NPR a couple months back. They seem like they're pretty together. http://www.npr.org/2014/07/21/333719578/teenage-songwriters-take-on-bro-country
  19. This show is at the National now (my husband works there - I did for several decades, but don't anymore). I can't work up enough energy to go downtown and see it. Mr ebk, who never saw the movie, was surprised and happy that the music is "nice". He can't see the show since he's on the flyfloor, but it's not an unpleasant evening for him. Maybe I'll watch this show. Thanks for the heads-up, aradia22.
  20. So...this means I shouldn't feel so great that the Terps are now 2-0 in our first year in the Big Ten. Not that we've actually played a team in-conference yet, but let's not let the facts get in the way here. :-) I'm grasping at straws...
  21. So tonight, I went out! And had baked Buffalo Wings (really spicy and tasty!), and just to change it up from wine, I had beer! A lovely St Bernardus Extra 4 (less than 5% ABV and quite nice), and then a Southern Tier Pumking for "dessert." This is a good year for Pumking.
  22. Husband still working evenings. Dinner tonight was hummus, Stacy's pita chips and Syrah. Yum
  23. I also like bananas, but not banana flavoring. I feel the same way about oranges - love them, don't like the flavoring. There are always a ton of orange Starburst left in the candy bowl in my office.
  24. I'm with you KnoxForPres. My husband is the cook and he's got a show for the next 3 weeks. So I'm surviving on Chunky Soup. Tonight is beef with country veggies and cabernet sauvignon. Tomorrow it will be pizza with some friends. It's half-price wine night! ...there's a theme here somewhere...
  25. The Washington Post's TV critic solves the Emmy problems! Or something... http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/style-blog/wp/2014/08/26/all-those-jokes-about-cable-vs-streaming-make-me-think-it-really-is-time-for-some-emmy-reform/?hpid=z2
